Ch 72: Round 4
It was 10:40 in the morning and the group was currently in the grass stadium. Not competing , but watching none other than Trent in his match.
Trent was facing off against a trainer named Jeffry. Trent's Azumarill and Ferrothorn had been knocked out but not without taking Jeffry's Gabite and Swallow. Now Trent's Abamasnow was facing off against an Ursaring.
"Abamasnow use Ice punch!".
"Ursaring use Hammer arm!". As the Ursaring came in with his arm raised, Abomasnow threw his arm under Ursaring's before smashing his other fist into the bear's face.
"Trent's doing well." Ash said.
"Ursaring use Focus blast!". The Ursaring charged forward with his arms raised.
"Ice shard on his legs.". Abomasnow unleashed a furry of ice sharps that hit Ursaring's legs and tore across them. As a result, Ursaring tripped and stumbled forward.
"Wood hammer!". Before Ursaring could hit the ground Abamosnow smashed his now wooden fist across Ursaring's face.
"Ursaring!". The large bear's eyes were swirly as he lay on the ground in front of his trainer.
"Ursaring is unable to battle, the winner is the blue trainer." The ref said.
"Alright! We're moving onto the victory tournament!" Trent shouted.
"Trent won." Serena said.
"Which means we'll be seeing him in the main stadium." Ash said.
"Now we just have to get there." Red said. Later in the pokemon center Ash and the others met up with Trent.
"Congratulations Trent." Ash said.
"Thanks Ash, I'm so excited that I'm actually in the victory tournament." Trent said.
"Making it that far is quite an accomplishment in itself." Red said. Korrina noticed Jason standing behind Trent keeping silent.
"So who are you guys facing today?" Trent asked.
"We actually don't know yet. They said the matchups weren't set up yet." Ash said.
"They probably are now. We should check." Serena said. The group went over to the registration counter and asked for their listings.
"Very well, just give me a moment." The young woman said as she typed on her computer.
"Here we are Ash Ketchum, you are facing a Will Wood in the ice stadium."
"Will Wood, I think I remember that guy." Ash said.
"Red Ketchum, you're facing a Jason Pheonix on the water field."
"Jason." Red said as he turned and faced him.
"So the time has finally come. You're going down Red." Jason said before walking off.
"Oh Jason." Trent said sweat dropping. An hour later Ash and the others were sitting in the water stadium.
"All he has to do is beat Jason and he's in the victory tournament!" Korrina said excited.
"Jason can't be that bad of a trainer to have made it this far though." Ash said. On the ground Red walked onto the blue platform as Jason walked onto the red one.
" Good afternoon folks, trainer Jason Pheonix will be facing off against trainer Red Ketchum. The winner of this round will be moving onto the victory tournament." The announcer said.
"Alright, time to prove to the beautiful Korrina that I'm the better trainer. Go Barbacle!" Trent shouted. The massive water rock pokemon came out and leapt into the water.
"Alright I choose you Skarmory!" Red shouted. His large metal bird came out and shrieked as he flew above the water.
"The red trainer has chosen a Barbacale and the blue trainer has chosen a Skarmory." The ref said.
"Barnacle use Stone edge!". The large Barbaracle came up and out of the water before unleashing a barrage of spiked rocks at Skarmory.
"Skarmory use Steel wing!" Red shouted. Skarmory flew down and used his wings to smash each of the incoming rocks.
"Clamp and grab him!". Barbaracle leapt up and snatched Skarmory in his claws.
"Scald.".
"Metal claw!" Just before Barbaracle could unleash Scald, Skarmory slashed his talons across Barbaracle's face.
"Graa!" Barbaracale grunted as fell back into the water and let go of Skarmory.
"Alright!" Korrina shouted.
"Barbaracle stay underwater." Jason said. Skarmory and Red watched the water closely as it remained calm.
"We'll have to draw him out. Skarmory fly close to the water." Red said. Skarmory flew close to the water keeping his wings close.
"He's trying to lure us out. Alright Barbaracle come up behind him and use Cross chop!". Barbaracle leapt up and behind Skarmory before raising his claws.
"Skarmory Steel wing his arms into Metal claw!" Red shouted. Skarmory quickly turned around an locked his wings inside Barbaracle's arms before slashing his talons against Barbaracle's face.
"Graa!" Barbaracle grunted as he fell back into the water.
"Not again." Jason said.
"He's doing great!" Korrina shouted.
"I wouldn't count Jason out just yet." Trent said.
"If he's going to stay close to the water, we better distract him. Scald!". Barbaracle leapt up and unleashed a powerful burst of extremely hot water that coated Skarmory.
"SKaa!" Skarmory shrieked in pain.
"Now use Cross chop!" Jason shouted.
"Skarmory use agility!" Red shouted. Skarmory tried to move, but Barbaracle leapt up to fast and smashed all his arms into Skarmory's body, hurling him into the water.
"Skarmory!" Red shouted.
"Alright we got him!" Jason shouted.
"Come on Skarmory get back up!" Ash shouted.
"I finish him with another Cross chop!". Barbaracle came down at Skarmory with his arms raised.
"Wait for it." Red said as Barbaracle came down closer.
"Wait for it."
"Red come on don't just have him sit there!" Clemont shouted.
"Now! Agility into Steel wing!". Just before Barbaracle could reach Skarmory, the metal bird quickly flew around behind him and came back with his wings raised.
"Barbarically behind you!" Jason shouted. Barbaracle turned around just in time to see Skarmory as he smashed his wings into his face.
"Gray!" Barbaracle moaned as he hit the water and came up with swirly eyes.
"Barbaracle is unable to battle." The ref said.
"Alright one down." Red said.
"Barbaracle return. Ok Go Froslass!" A Froslass came out and took a pose as she stood on the floating platform.
"The red trainer has chosen a Froslass for his next pokemon." The announcer said.
"Skarmory come in and use Steel wing." Red said.
"Ice beam in the water." The Froslass opened her mouth and blasted the water with ice, freezing it solid. Froslass leapt onto the ice and skated across , narrowly avoiding Skarmory's strike.
"Hail!". Froslass lit up the the sky with ice that burst into hail.
"Oh no." Red said. The hail flew down and buffed Skarmory.
"Skaa." Skarmory grunted.
"Perfect , now use Thunderbolt!".
"Skarmory use agility into Steel wing!" Red shouted. Despite the pain from the hail, Skamory flew down and used his agility to avoid the incoming Thunderbolt as it flew past him.
"Move!" Froslass skated across the ice and once again avoided Skarmory's strike.
"After her!" Red shouted. Skarmory flew after Froslass using his superior speed. However, every time he got close she would change direction or skate low avoiding him.
Red could feel his Skarmory's pain as the hail continued to buff him.
"Froslass use Icebeam!" The ice lady opened her mouth and blasted Skarmory with a powerful beam of ice.
"Skaa!"Skarmory cried out in pain before falling to the ground.
"Skarmory is unable to battle." The ref said.
"The blue trainer's Skarmory is down, that means he's also down one pokemon." The announcer said.
"Poor Skarmory." Korrina said.
"Alright! We got him Froslass!" Jason shouted. Red took out his next pokeball and turned back to Jason.
"I choose you Talonflame!" Red's fire bird came out and flew above him.
"The blue trainer has chosen a Talonflame for his next pokemon." The announcer said.
"Talon flame use Flamecharge!". Talonflame covered himself in fire before soaring down at Froslass.
"Thunderbolt!".
"Agility Talonflame." Froslass opened her mouth and unleashed a powerful bolt of electricity at Talonflame. However, the fire bird used his agility to avoid the blast of electricity and continued down at her.
"Skate away!". Froslass began skating across the ice as Talonflame flew after her. Froslass tried to make a sharp turn, but Talonflame re-angled his wings and turned with her. Unlike Skarmory, he was able to keep up with Froslass movements because the fire surrounding his body kept the hail away. Not a moment later Talonflame smashed into Froslass, hurling her across the battlefield.
"Gotcha." Red said.
"Alright he's gotten pas the hail!" Korrina shouted.
"Shoot, Froslass use Ice shard." Froslass opened her mouth and unleashed a barrage of ice bits at TalonFlame.
"Flame charge again!" Red shouted. TalonFlame flew at Froslass as the fire surrounding his body easily melted away the incoming ice.
"Thunderbolt!".
"Agility!" Red shouted.
"Huh, this seems kind of familiar. Why is Jason doing this again?" Serena asked. Talonflame evaded the incoming electricity, but Froslass didn't move.
"That's it, come in closer." Jason said. He waited until Talonflame was very close.
"Now use waterpulse!". Froslass opened her mouth and unleashed a pulse shaped burst of water.
"Talonflame look out!" Korrina shouted.
"Close your wings and dive forward!" Red shouted. Talonflame closed his wings close to his body and dove straight through the water pulse center, completely avoiding the water.
"What!?" Jason said as the others in the crowd looked on in confusion.
"Wow." Ash said.
"Pika." Pikachu said just as amazed. Talonflame extended his wings and smashed into Froslass, hurling her back.
"Froslass!". The ice pokemon hit the ground with swirly eyes and a charred body.
"Froslass is unable to continue." The ref said.
"Sweet just one more." Red said.
"Alright this is it, I need to get it together. Go Altaria!" Jason shouted. The large blue dragon bird came out and shrieked as she faced Talonflame.
"An Altaria?" Red said. Jason smiled as he took out a stone.
"Wait a minute." That was when Red noticed a small mega evolution stone on a necklace Altaria was wearing.
"Oh that's not good!" Red shouted. Jason touched the stone as his Altaria grew larger and glowed various colors.
"He's mega evolving?" Ash said.
"Well I did give him a stone." Trent said.
"Folks I can't believe my eyes, the Altaria is evolving some how." The announcer said.
When the glowing stopped Altaria had more extensive cloud-like plumage, with a large, fluffy mass extending from its back. The feathers had grown as a self-protective measure, and they glimmer with an iridescent sheen. Its cottony wings were more distinct than in its base form, and its blue belly is now exposed. Additional fluff surrounds its neck like a collar, and its head is adorned with a hat-like crest. A single, small feather curled out from its forehead, though its facial features were unchanged. Its tail feathers had grown into a long, wavy streamer, with three longer central plumes.
"Mega Altaria, well that would explain why he brought her out." Red said.
"They say save your best for last. Altaria use Dragon Pulse!".
"Talonflame use agility." Altaria opened her mouth and unleashed a massive beam of dragon energy that flew like lightning across the battlefield. Using every bit of speed and agility he had, Talonflame narrowly avoided the incoming strike.
"Arial ace!" Altaria flew forward like a demon, slashing Talonflame across his body making him fall backwards.
"Dragon pulse!". Altaria opened her mouth and blasted Talonflame with a colossal beam of dragon energy that engulfed him.
"Talonflame!" Red shouted. Talonflame hit the ice floor unconscious.
"Talonflame is unable to battle." The ref said.
"This isn't good. I can't believe he has a mega evolved pokemon." Clemont said.
"Don't forget Red has two pokemon that can Mega evolve." Korrina said.
"Talonflame return. You battled valiantly. Ok I choose you Aero!" Red shouted. Red's massive Aerodactyl came out and roared at Altaria.
"Time to even the playing field." Red said as he touched his mega evolution stone.
"Uh oh." Jason said. A colorful sphere formed around Aero as he mega evolved.
"Folks this is a day like no other. We're seeing not one, but two of these evolutions." The announcer said.
"Alright Mega Aero!" Korrina shouted.
" Altaria use Dragon pulse!".
"Aero Agility into Iron head." Aero moved like lightning as he flew out of the Dragon pulses path and at Altaria with his head now turned metal.
"Altaria move under him and use Dazzling Gleam." Altaria moved extremely fast as she tried to get under Aero.
Aero kept his eyes on Altaria as she flew under him.
"Re-angle your wings!" Red shouted. Aero quickly re-angled his wings and flew straight down at Altaria before smashing his head into Altaria's body.
"Gotcha." Red said.
"Altaria get some altitude then use Dragon pulse." Altaria quickly flew up high with Aero close behind.
"Aero use wing attack with Agility!" Red shouted. Altaria turned her head and unleashed a powerful dragon pulse at very close range. Despite this, Aero used his incredible speed and agility to avoid the massive dragon pulse before continuing at Altaria.
"Now use Arial ace!" Jason shouted. Altaria flew in low and slashed Aero across his legs and lower body, knocking him off balance.
"Now use Dazzling gleam!". Altaria turned her head and blazed Aero across the chest with the fairy energy.
Aero was forced up and back as Altaria regained her composure.
"Alright we're still in this." Jason said. Aero shook his head as he regained himself and snarled at Altaria.
"Time to end this battle. Aero use Rock Slide." Aero roared as he unleashed 4 massive boulders down at Altaria.
"Altaria doge them!" Altaria moved like a demon as she elegantly evaded each incoming boulder.
"Now use Arial ace, aim low again." Altaria flew up at Aero trying to slash at hie legs and lower body.
"Spinning Wing attack!". Aero made a sharp sinning motion as Altaria came at him. Just before Altaria could slash Aero , she was hit and knocked aside by his wing.
"Giga impact!" Red shouted. Aero glowed red as he forced himself into Altaria and hurled them both into the ground.
"Altaria!" Jason shouted. Aero stood over an unconscious Altaria who was back in normal form.
"Grouu!" Aero roared.
"Altaria is unable to battle, the winner is the blue trainer." The ref said.
"It's over, trainer Red Ketchum is moving on to the victory tournament." The announcer said.
" That's it! We're going to the victory tournament !" Red shouted as Aero roared once again.
"He won!" Korrina shouted.
"Alright, Red did it." Ash said.
"Looks like we'll be seeing him in the main stadium." Felix said.
"Well I better find Jason after this and talk to him about loosing." Trent said as he got up.
"Altaria return." Jason said sounding very disappointed. He looked up at Red before before turning and walking out of the stadium, Later at the pokemon center , Red had met up with the rest of the group.
"Red I'm so proud of you, you're in the victory tournament." Korrina said as she hugged him.
"Excellent work out there Red. I'm very impressed at how skilled you've become." Sycamore said.
"Thanks guys, it wasn't easy making it this far." Red said.
"So now Ash just needs to win his match and he'll be in the victory tournament too." Serena said.
"Who is your opponent again?" Red asked.
"His name was Will Wood. I think we met him the night before round one. He seemed very competitive." Ash said.
"He must be good to have made it this far." Red said.
"You made it this far too Ash. Show this guy what you're made of." Serena said.
Later that day Ash stood in the green corner of the ice field while Will stood on the blue corner.
"Ash Ketchum, we're finally battling. This certainly won't be easy, you seem like a very skilled trainer. Not to mention that Charizard. I just hope you don't bring him out." Will said to himself.
Back in the crowd Serena and the others sat as close to the front as they could.
"This is it, Ash is just one away win away from the victory tournament." Serena said sounding very excited.
"That's true but we can't count out this Will. I was able to see one of hit matches. He's quite a skilled trainer." Alexa said.
"Ash can handle him. " Red said.
"Alright time to battle, go Eelektross!" Will shouted. The large electric eel pokemon came out and sparked some electricity in his mouth and claws.
"I choose you Mightyena!" Ash shouted. Ash's Mightyena came out and growled at Eelektross.
"Begin." The ref said.
"Eelektross use Discharge." Eelektross sparked his claws before slamming them into the ground. A large burst of electricity surged across the ice and towards Mightyena.
"Mightyena move fast and don't stay on the ground for too long. Use Crunch!" . Mightyena quickly leapt from place to place across the battlefield as fast as she could. With each leap , she was able to avoid each surge of electricity just before it could hit her.
"Acid!" Will shouted. Just before Mightyena could reach him, Eelektross opened his mouth and unleashed a massive burst of poison liquid up and into Mightyena.
"Alright nice shot." Will said. Ash grit his teeth as Mightyena hit the ground covered in poison.
"Mightyena get up!" Ash shouted. Mightyena got right back up and growled as she shook the poison off.
"Mightyena use Crunch." Ash shouted.
"Electors use Discharge." Once again Eelektross smashed his claws into the ground and electrocuted the ice. Mightyena leapt from place to place avoiding each surge as she moved closer to him.
"Let's Finnish her this time, Use Zap cannon!".
"Roar!" Ash shouted. Mightyena opened her mouth and unleashed a gripping roar that picked up Eelektross and hurled him back several feet.
"Huh?" Will said in complete surprise. Mightyena hit the ground and leapt onto Eelektross before snapping her jaws around him as hard as she could.
"Alright he figured it out!" Serena shouted.
"Great work Mightyena!" Ash shouted.
"I should have known the same strategy would not have worked twice in a row. How foolish of me, alright we need to restrain and contain her. Use Acid across the battlefield." Eelektross opened his mouth and unleashed several bursts of poison into the ice around Mightyena.
" Mightyena dodge and use Take down." Mightyena tried to move from place to place, but the poison sunk into the ice and remained where it was. Making it hard for her to find a safe place to land.
"Now use Zap Cannon." Eelektross raised his claws in front of his face as a massive ball of electricity formed.
"Mightyena move!" Ash shouted. Mightyena tried to move, but the poison in the ice made it too difficult for Mightyena to move without touching the poison. Eelektross unleashed the massive Zap cannon and engulfed Mightyena in electricity.
"Yes, direct hit." Will said.
"Mightyena!" Ash shouted. Mightyena hit the ground hard as electricity sparked around her.
"Oh no, another direct hit." Serena said.
"Come on Mightyena you can take it!" Red shouted.
"Mightyena get up fight on!" Ash shouted. Mightyena slowly got up and growled at Eelektross.
"Use Discharge on the ground." Eelektross smashed his claws into the ground causing electricity to surge across the ice and through the poison.
"She can't just sit there, I guess I have no choice. Mightyena, I know it won't be easy, but Mightyena you have to move through the poison." Ash said. He knew that it would do damage to Mightyena, but if she stayed where she was she would be enveloped in electricity.
Mightyena grit her teeth and leapt from place to place to avoid the electricity, occasionally having to leap into poison. Ash hated to have her do that, but he knew he had no choice.
Serena and the others watched in discomfort as Mightyena leapt through the puddles of poison.
"Zap cannon!".
"Roar!". Despite her pain, Mightyena roared with a powerful presence that picked up Eelektross and hurled him back.
"Crunch!". Mightyena leapt onto Eelektross and bit down on his head.
"Eelektross!" Will shouted. Eelektross's head hit the ground with his eyes swirly.
"Eelektross is unable to battle." The ref said.
"Great work Mightyena!" Ash shouted.
"Yena!" Mightyena roared.
"Yes Ash has the lead!" Serena shouted.
"Eelektross return, ok looks like I'll have to bring out the big guns. Go Metagross!" The massive Pseudo legendary pokemon came out and floated over the ice.
" Another Metagross." Ash said sweat dropping.
"This won't be easy. Metagross is a very powerful pokemon." Korrina said.
"He can do it, he's beaten a Metagross before!" Serena said.
"Metagross use Hammer arm!".
"Mightyena dodge and use crunch!" Ash shouted. Mightyena tried to move, but she had much fatigue from the electricity and poison. Not to mention the poison that was still on the ground.
Metagross flew across the air and smashed all 4 of his arms into Mightyena, hurling her back.
"Mightyena!" Ash shouted. Mightyena tried to get back up but fell back to the ground moments later.
"Mightyena us unable to battle." The ref said.
"Looks like Will just evened it out." Sycamore said.
"Come on Ash you're still in this!" Serena shouted.
"Mightyena return, you were amazing out there. Alright I choose you TalonFlame!" Ash shouted.
Talonflame came out and flew above Ash.
"Talonflame use Flame Charge!". Talonflame covered himself in fire and flew at Metagross.
"Metagross use Confusion." Metagross turned his head to Talonflame and caught him with psychic energy.
"Talonflame use Flamethrower!" Ash shouted. TalonFlame opened his beak and blasted a jet of fire at Metagross. The massive pokemon turned his attention to the Flamethrower and caught it. However, with Metagross's attention focused on the Flamethrower, Talonflame was able to break free and fly at Metagross.
"Send it back." Metagross hurled the fire back into Talonflame's wing. The ember did minimal damage, but it did knock him off his path making him miss Metagross.
"Metagross use Hyper beam!".
"Talonflame use agility." Talonflame turned and flew at Metagross with his evasiveness up ready to dodge. Metagross didn't unleash Hyper beam until Talonflame was close. As the massive beam flew at Talonflame, the fire bird moved out of the way just in time.
"Oh no!" Will shouted.
"He has to recharge, Talonflame use Flare blitz!" Ash shouted. Talonflame covered himself in fire and flew right into Metagross.
"Yes he got him!" Serena shouted.
Metagross got up and stared right at Talonflame.
"Psychic!". Metagross's eyes glowed red as he caught Talonflame in a psychic grasp and held him in place.
"Flamethrower!".
"Rock slide!" Talonflame opened his beak and let out a burst of fire. At the same time Metagross hurled 8 massive boulders at Talonflame while still holding him in place.
"Talonflame move!" Ash shouted. Talonflame tried to move, but the psychic kept Talonflame held in place. Meanwhile the Flamethrower was extinguished by the incoming rocks, before they smashed into Talonflame and hurled him into the ground.
"Talonflame!" Ash shouted. The fire bird was knocked out under the rocks.
"Talonflame is unable to battle." The ref said.
"Alright just one more!" Will said.
"This isn't good. Ash is down to one pokemon." Red said.
"Come on Ash you can't give up!" Serena shouted.
"Talonflame return." Ash took a deep breath before turning his head to Pikachu.
"It's all up to you Pikachu. Are you ready?".
"Pika!" Pikachu shouted before he leapt down and ran onto the battlefield.
"His Pikachu? I haven't seen him in a battle yet." Will said nervously.
"Let's take him down Pikachu!" Ash shouted.
"Pika!".
"Metagross use Hammer arm!".
"Pikachu use Agility!" Ash shouted.
Metagross flew right at Pikachu and hurled all 4 of his arms at the small pokemon. Pikachu easily avoided each strike with lighting fast speed before leaping up and over Metagross.
"Electro ball!". As Pikachu flew over Metagross, he formed a ball of electricity in his tail and hurled it into Metagross just as he turned around. The massive pokemon grunted as he tried to regain himself.
"Rock slide!". Metagross hurled 8 massive rocks at Pikachu as the small pokemon landed.
"Iron tail!" Pikachu used his tail to smash against some of the rocks while he leapt off the others. Once he got to the top rock he smashed his tail into it, hurling the boulder right at Metagross.
The massive pseudo legendary pokemon smashed the rock into pebbles with his arms.
"Psychic!". Metagross tried to get a lock onto Pikachu, but the electric mouse pokemon was moving far to fast. Metagross got a headache trying to lock onto Pikachu and lost focus.
"Gotcha, Pikachu use Thunder!" Ash shouted.
"Pika chu!" Pikachu shouted as he unleashed a massive bolt of electricity and hit Metagross dead on in a critical hit.
"Oh no Metagross!" Will shouted. The massive pokemon hit the ground with swirly eyes.
"Metagross is unable to battle." The ref said.
"Great job Pikachu!" Ash shouted.
"Yes, Pikachu did awesome!" Serena shouted.
"Geez, that's one skilled Pikachu. Metagross return, ok last chance for the victory tournament. Go Salamence!". A massive blue and red dragon flew out and above the field roaring.
"Geez first a Metagross and now a Salamence. This guy has some impressive pokemon." Red said.
"Salamence use Flamethrower, lite up the battlefield." The massive dragon flew all around the battlefield as he unleashed a thick jet of fire.
"Pikachu Agility into Electroball!" Ash shouted. Pikachu quickly sprinted across the battlefield avoiding the fire until he reached a safe area and hurled his tail forward, unleashing Electroball.
"Salamence dodge it!". Salamence tried to move, but the Electroball was moving to fast and hit Salamence right in the stomach.
Salamence growled as he turned to Pikachu.
"You're Pikachu extremely fast and agile, I'll give him that. But that won't matter now." Will said.
"Huh?" Ash said before he saw the fire from Salamence melt the ice into a water field.
"Oh no." Ash said.
"That's not good, now Pikachu can't maneuver." Korrina said.
"Come on Pikachu!" Serena shouted.
"Dragon claw!" Will shouted. Pikachu wanted to maneuver , but he was on such a small island of ice that he could not. The massive dragon flew in and slashed Pikachu across his chest, nearly knocking him into the water.
"Pikachu!" Ash shouted.
"Pika." Pikachu said as he climbed back onto the ice.
"Come in with another Dragon tail!" Will shouted.
"Pikachu Thunder!".
"Pika chu!" Pikachu shouted.
"Dodge it!". Salamence quickly moved out of the Thunder's path just before it could hit him.
"Iron tail!". Pikachu leapt up and smashed Salamence's claws away with his tail before coming back and smashing Salamence across the face.
"Salamence back into he air!". The massive dragon flew up as fast as he could to avoid Pikachu's next strike.
"He can't maneuver, use Flamethrower!" Will shouted. Salamence turned and unleashed a massive jet of fire that engulfed Pikachu and melted away the last of his ice island.
"Pikachu Thunder!" Ash shouted. Despite being engulfed in fire, Pikachu managed to endure the pain and unleash a bolt of electricity right through the fire and hit Salamence dead on.
"Salamence!" Will shouted. The blue dragon fell right out of the sky and splashed into the water.
Meanwhile PIkachu popped his head out of the water and saw the massive dragon floating in front of him unconscious.
"Salamence is unable to battle, the winner is the green trainer." The ref said.
"We won, we won!" Ash shouted. Pikachu leapt up and out of the water into Ash's arms.
"Yes he made it! Ash is in the victory tournament!" Serena shouted.
"Looks like I won't be alone." Red said. Will took a deep breath before returning his Salamence.
"Well make it to round 4 is pretty impressive." Will said.
Ash and Red were now moving on to the victory tournament and towards their next battles.
Author's note: Alright that's it for this chapter.
Only 3 chapters left in the story and all 3 are at the pokemon league. First round of the victory tournament starts next chapter so I hope your excited, Ash and Red will be facing much stronger opponents now.
Unfortunately I know who Ash and Red will be facing for the 3 rounds. They are all introduced characters from the last few chapters. So if you haven't seen your character yet I'm afraid it's unlikely they'll appear.
Also I want to make it clear that if you haven't seen some of Ash's or Red's pokemon in a battle, they will appear at some point. I'm not leaving them out.
