Rumia and Miko exited Senkai near the Youkai Mountain, hoping to intercept Kasen, but there was no sign of her nearby.
"She shouldn't know their exact location." Rumia said. "She probably knows that Yuugi and Suika have been around Youkai Mountain so knows the general area, but she can't possibly know the exact location."
Miko shook her head.
"Kasen can communicate with animals. If a bird, or a bug, or a fish saw you, she can know." Miko said.
"Then we should rush to the site!" Rumia said.
"It seems Kasen is not in the area around Youkai Mountain getting information, so that means she is headed there already." Miko agreed, before the pair took off.
The Mountain was marked by a swarm of dark clouds swirling around, the Nyuudou attempting to keep Kasen out. Kasen was not alone, however. Three creatures were with her, their natures clear even from a distance.
"How can this be?" Miko said, stunned.
The Nyuudou were blasted back by a bolt of lightling, a flash of flames, and a torrent of water, as Kasen's companions attacked. A phoenix, a Kirin and even a small dragon.
Rumia and Miko arrived behind Kasen, as the Nyuudou dispersed, on Kanakuma's command, and the three other Deva looked up at Kasen.
"These three down there are the ones I wish for your aid in killing." Kasen said. "Once that is done, consider your debts repaid."
"What about the two behind us?" the phoenix asked, her voice sounding regal.
"If they get in the way, kill the one in black. The other one, don't kill her. I'm not even sure she can die." Kasen said.
The Kirin turned to face Rumia and Miko, the unicorn-like creature sparking with lightling along it's large, crystalline horn.
"I apologise, but I owe Kasen a debt from years ago. I shall not allow you to interfere." The Kirin said, it's voice commanding attention, with a slight echo, before it glowed, and changed into a more human form, a middle-aged woman with white hair that billowed out like a cloud, wearing a regal blue dress, marked with yellow bolts. Her horn stayed the same.
The Pheonix started to fight against Suika, the Oni bursting into mist to dodge a fireball, while the seemingly young dragon attacked Yuugi, the tail clashing with the Oni's fist, leaving Kanakuma and Kasen, who were each waiting for the other to act.
"So, Miko, I guess it's time to prove your statement of power." Rumia said. "I can feel this animal is strong, it's certainly no youkai... it's a divine animal."
"Yes, the Kirin is regarded as second only to the Dragons." Miko said. "I hope you can keep up."
"Then I better not fool around. I guess she can take it if I cut loose." Rumia said, before she formed her energy wings, with the faint blue lights within them, which they had attained ever since her evil half was separated from her.
The Kirin looked a little surprised.
"My my, you're stronger than I expected." She said calmly, before she put her hands together, like she was clapping, forming a bolt of lightning between the, which she grabbed with her right hand and threw towards Rumia.
However, Miko flew in front of the bolt, her Seven-Star Sword unsheathed, which sliced through the bolt. As soon as that happened, Rumia flew above Miko, and threw a large sphere of Dark Energy from each of her hands, which the Kirin evaded.
"Not bad, not bad. You're fast enough to react to my Thunderclap." She said, before she started to spark. "But can you deal with this?"
The Kirin covered herself in electricity, before charging towards Miko, horn first, like a horse made of lightling, at an incredible speed.
"Hermit Sign: Emperor of the Land of the Rising Sun!" Miko declared, before she was surrounded by a blinding sphere of light, which moved outwards slowly, disperseing.
But at the time the Kirin slammed into the sphere, it was solid, without a gap in it, the spell blasting her backwards as an effective defence. This time, the Kirin actually looked a little shaken,, but did not look harmed.
Then Rumia appeared behind her, Chi infused into her fist, slamming the Kirin in the back, sending her into the mountain. Rumia shook her hand, which was sparking.
"Ow, static..." she complained. "For a legendary divine creature, she's not that strong. I guess youkai are above mere beasts after a..."
The Rumia was struck by lightning, and fell to the mountainside, smoking, but rapidly regenerating, as the Kirin got up, looking angered.
"You dare strike me?" she roared. "Know your place!"
The Kirin performed her Thunderclap technique again, and threw the bolt towards the still-falling Rumia.
"Summoning: Royal Clan's Chaotic Dance!" Miko cried, as Futo and Soga appeared, the latter blasting the Kirin's bolt with one of her own.
"You should have called us as soon as you were in this sort of situation, Miko." Futo said.
"Yes, well, I thought the legends of the Kirin being able to call upon actual lighting were exaggerations." Miko said.
The legendary beast look at Soga with curiosity. "A vengeful spirit who can command lighting as well. How interesting."
"Well, technically my power is 'causing thunder', but the cause of thunder Is lighting." Soga said calmly.
The Kirin laughed. "This should be fun! At first I thought this would be a boring fight; but against one with the same power as mine, it may be a little difficult! However, know this, my power is on a higher level to yours, spirit."
The Kirin's horn glowed, before from it came an arcing bolt of forked lighting, heading towards each of the Taoists. Soga focused, and the forks missed by a small amount, before she and Futo fired a barrage of arrows and small bolts towards the Kirin, who nimbly weaved between them, closing in.
"Light Sign: Guse Flash" Miko commanded, before a rapid barrage of rainbow danmaku shot from her at random, this being too much for the Kirin to evade, causing her to be struck by Miko's magic, Futo's arrows and Soga's bolts until she could back off.
"You three work well together..." the Kirin said, looking a little ruffled. "However, your attacks lack the raw power needed to bring down a beast such as I. This shall be a battle of endurance."
"Perhaps, but are you forgetting someone?" Miko asked.
"You are not fighting three of us, beast." Soga said.
"My student may not be elegant, but she has a lot of power." Futo said happily, before a ray of white light engulfed the Kirin, fired from the ground.
"What is this?!" she said.
"Moonlight Ray!" Rumia replied, flying in front of the Kirin as soon as her blast stopped, forming several dark orbs around the beast. "Dark Sign: Zouhuo" she cried, as the orbs all flew towards the Kirin from all directions, causing an explosion, a variant on one of Seiga's attacks.
However, Rumia knew the Kirin would not be finished by that, and turned into her shadow form.
"Blood Sign: Murder in the Night!" she hissed, before everything around the Kirin turned to darkness, the sphere to complete darkness sustaining for a few seconds, before it shattered, revealing Rumia retracting claws, and leaving her shadow form, with the Kirin clearly being unconscious for a moment with heavy scratches, before regaining her composure, and grabbing Rumia's hair, before dischargeing a massive amount of electricity into her body directily.
However, Soga flew to Rumia's front, and put both of her hands on her stomach, and with one massive effort, blasted the lighting back to the Kirin, stunning it long enough for Rumia to break the grip.
"You don't know when to give up…" Rumia said, sounding a little worn out after excecuting those attacks in succession. "But I don't have the time to play games with you. So you will be the first to witness my new attack, one which combines my Taoist teachings, my Makai powers, and even my memories of Yukari… Taijitu: Balance of Dark and Light!"
With that, several beams of dark energy and Rumia's Moonlight Rays intercrossed, forming an intricate web, which encompassed the Kirin, before, with a click of her fingers, the lasers collapsed, like threads of a web, cocooning the Kirin in a mesh of light and darkness. But that cocoon only lasted half a second, before it erupted into a pillar of light and darkness, the light half having a dot of darkness, and the dark having a dot of light. The attack faded, leaving a Taijitu for a second, before that too faded, revealing the Kirin floating in the air in her animal form, looking severely injured and unconscious, her head bowed. Then, in a flash of lighting, she vanished.
Rumia gasped for air, and felt a huge exhaustion on her. That attack was extremely draining on her, and while she would regain her strength quickly, she needed a short time to recover. She noticed Soga looked exhausted too, most likely the result of reflecting the Kirin's attack. Futo steadied Soga, while Miko grabbed Rumia, and brought the two to the mountainside.
Rumia looked around, and saw that Suika had beaten the Pheonix, judging by it not being around anymore, and Yuugi had driven off the juvenile dragon, although both looked like they were hardly conscious as well.
Kasen and Kanakuma were still watching each other.
"It's over. Your allies are beaten." Kanakuma said calmly.
"And yours are exhausted. While you are weak and infirm, and I have the energy of over 100 years stored up within me." Kasen said. "I must say I am impressed that the three legendary creatures I brought with me lost, but they held up their end of the bargin. It will be over soon, however... I can promise that, and then the Oni will change."
Author Notes: This fight never happened in the RP, it's new content, I added it to give some moments to show how strong the Taoists were, as well as showing just how strong the Deva are. While it took Rumia and the Taoists together to beat the Kirin, Suika beat the Pheonix alone, and Yuugi managed to defeat a juvenile dragon [If it was an adult it would have defeated everyone present. That said, it wouldn't have listened to Kasen either. Dragons are that strong.]
Rumia likes making her techniques inspired by other techniques, drawing from hat she's seen. She doesn't outright steal them like Marisa, of course. Note these were non-spellcard versions of the attacks.
