Karkat slouched into his seat with a tray of food in front of him. Gamzee sat across from his best friend and looked at him lazily before asking, " How's your classes bro?"

"Ugh, they're full of ignorant asshole freshmen." The paler boy grumbled.

"I don't get why you hate the freshies so much man."

"I'll tell you why I hate them, they clog up the halls, they think they're hot shit, and they just don't know their place in this school." Gamzee nodded, he did have a point.

"But, you know we were motherfuckin' freshmen last year right?"

Karkat stared at his friend for a bit before answering, "Yes Gamzee I'm not an idiot, but we knew our place and kept our heads down," Karkat grinned at his friend, remembering the incident the two had gotten into last year "for the most part."

The conversation went on to other topics until a very tan girl hurriedly sat in the empty seat to the right of Karkat. The short boy's eyes grew wide as he did nothing but stare at her.

"Uhm, hi guys!" The girl's voice was quite enthusiastic but fear betrayed her eyes.

"Hey there motherfucka'. You all up an' okay?"

The girl looked at Gamzee curiously, she wasn't used to the vulgar language or his manner of speaking most likely.
"Yeah of course! I just need to uh, look like I'm talking to you guys. Just for a bit, I'm sorry…"

"No need to be sorry girl but, why?" It was Gamzee's turn to look confused now.

"Oh I guess you do deserve an explanation huh." She twirled her hazel colored hair around her fingers. "Well, I'm kind of being…stalked." Her cheeks grew red from embarrassment. Gamzee cocked his head, silently asking his question.

"Oh he's just some kid I met over the summer, turns out he goes here now and he won't stop following me around and hitting on me. I don't want to hurt his feelings but it's getting kind of creepy and really annoying."

Gamzee's second question was interrupted when a boy in thick glasses approached the seat next to the new girl. "Excuse me, may I sit here?" his voice had a thick Australian accent in it as he addressed the girl.

"Uh…" she paused, looking to the still wide-eyed Karkat for backup. When she realized he wouldn't be of any help she turned back to the boy, "Sure! Hehe, sure…" Her face was painted with disappointment when no one helped her. The boy sat next to her in a heartbeat.

The table was silent for a while, until Gamzee finally addressed the boy with the light brown hair.

"So new guy, what's your name?"

"Oh! I'm sorry, that was rude of me. My name is Eridan Ampora."

"Cool man, I'm Gamzee. Mr. Oddly quiet over there is Karkat."

While Gamzee gave Eridan a fistbump across the table, the girl took the opportunity to scoot further from Eridan and closer to Karkat, causing his pale cheeks to grow into a shade of pink. Eridan noticed this though and got closer to her, "What about the lady? Does she have a name?"

"Of course, I'm Feferi…" she reluctantly gave the boy her hand and, like a gentleman, he brought it to his lips and lightly kissed the golden ring on her finger.

Feferi looked away from the boy and her face lit up when she noticed a nerdy boy with colorful shades and a drink in hand. "Sollux!" She excused herself and ran to meet up with the boy.

As soon as she was out of earshot, Eridan looked to Gamzee and smiled, "Wow, she is a major fuckin' hottie eh?"

Karkat turned to Eridan and finally opened his mouth, "Don't get your hopes up freshie, she's off limits to like, anyone." He crossed his arms over his chest.

"What do you mean? And I'm not a fuckin' freshman."

"You sure? Huh, you must be new here then if you're trying to woo Feferi Peixes."

Eridan scowled at the other boy. "Yeah I'm pretty sure I'm a fuckin sophomore," he sneered at Karkat then added, "I just moved here."

Yeah well word of advice then new guy, don't even try to go after Feferi, she's super nice but she won't hesitate to put you down if you deserve it." With that, Eridan rose from his seat.

"What the fuck ever, I can do what I want. I doubt she's ever met anyone like me before anyways." He said proudly before setting off in the same direction Feferi had gone.

"Motherfucka' is in for some trouble." Gamzee grinned after him.

A bit later Eridan returned to the table. His face was a mix of anger and embarrassment and his shirt was coated in the remains of a red and blue slushie. Karkat and Gamzee laughed at the miserable boy's misfortune, Eridan, with either tears or slushie in his eye, promptly flicked the two boys off before briskly walking away.
