Another chapter up in the same month, I think I'm gunna do pretty decent with keeping it updated regularly. However this chapter marks the end of where I was in my notebook so since it'll be typed from scratch now it might take longer. Nevertheless I will try and keep my word on having it updated frequently c: anyways I hope you guys enjoy this!

Terezi laid in her bed dressed only in a tank top and a pair of boxers. She had just finished her work for the day and with so much time to spare! She couldn't think of anything to do however. Her sister had left the house hours ago and headed to the skate park, Vriska was out on a date with Tavros, and Dave was probably busy too, being a cool kid and all. 'Hm…' she then thought of a certain shouty boy 'Karkat might be free.' Terezi decided he would be a great choice of entertainment for a bit, maybe even the whole night if she pushed the boy's buttons correctly. She really enjoyed messing with him, he was so easily angered.

Just who did that asshole think he was! Karkat couldn't believe he hit on Terezi like that, what an absolute creep! Oh man, when he saw him tomorrow he was going to rip Eridan a new one. Teach him not to hit on his girl. Well…okay technically Terezi wasn't even his to begin with but just hearing about someone else trying to earn her favor made him absolutely livid. His arms ached to be thrust at his stupid face, his fists clenched so tightly he turned them white and his palms were boiling with rage. He could hardly contain himself anymore. As a matter of fact he couldn't contain himself at all. He bared his teeth in a growl that soon escalated into a roar, and swung at his wall, punching a hole clear through it exposing the structure of the room that once was hidden.

He moved from the fragile wall to the sturdier one that faced outdoors. He ruthlessly swung his fists at this brick wall with enough force to make his skin split on his knuckles, causing his warm blood to stream down. Not that he noticed. "That fucking weirdo! Who does he think he is?!" he shouted as he turned to release his rage upon his door next. "I'm going to kill him I swear to God!" He spat out a seemingly endless onslaught of profanity as he threw his fists against the door. He couldn't hear the slam of the front door. He couldn't hear the calls of his brother worriedly asking what was going on and if he was okay. He couldn't hear him running to the door and grasping the handle. He didn't even see the door opening as he broke his combo to catch his breath. All Karkat could see was red.

So Karkat wasn't aware of what would happen next. His crimson fists was used to the hardness of the walls and the door so when it struck Kankri's soft fleshy cheek Karkat snapped out of his rage. The red finally dissipating from his sight to reveal his brother's face to the floor. Karkat's breathing was heavy as he just stood over his unconscious brother, still trying to understand what had just happened. It snapped soon enough for the boy though, and he fell to his knees beside his brother. Hot tears fell silently down his flushed face.

Hm…that was odd. Terezi was disappointed by Karkat's sudden absence. Not even a goodbye? However she was a bit flattered by how jealous he sounded. She just could not stop blushing as she had the messages read over and over again to her. A knock at the door snapped her out of her little daze, her mom was still working and Latula was out at the skate park, she usually doesn't come home for hours…

On the other side of the door was a very distressed Vriska. Her face was as white as a sheet, her lungs out of breath, and her eyes bloodshot and puffy from crying all the way there. "You gunna let me in or what Pyrope?" she shouted from the opposite side of the door as her best friend.

Terezi flung the door open in a haste. Why would Vriska be here? "Vriska?" Terezi reached an arm out for her friend. "Yeah come on in."

"Thanks."

"So to what do I owe the pleasure Ms. Serket?"

"Uhm…" her voice broke and gave away her distress.

"Vrisk oh my God are you crying?" Terezi's face was one of genuine concern for her friend.

Vriska broke down then, full on sobs erupting from her shaking body.

"Vriska what's wrong?" Terezi closed the door and knelt beside her friend.

Vriska regained some composure before she answered, "T-Tavros broke up with me.

"No," the red head remarked in disbelief, "why?"

"Because he wasn't feeling it. Like what kind of dumb ass reason is that?"

Terezi scoffed and helped her friend up. They walked into her room, where they sat on her bed.

"So what happened? Tell me the story."

Vriska proceeded to tell her best friend just what had "transpired" just over an hour ago. However she, so expertly, left out the parts that would make her look bad, like how she pushed her no ex-boyfriend into rush hour traffic causing both him and another car to be hit and then promptly running away from the scene straight to Terezi's house. She somehow managed to push the thought out of her head as well.

By the time she was done ranting about how Tavros was a huge baby and rude for dumping her for such a bullshit reason, it was around eight in the evening, and Terezi had offered to have a sleepover and gave Vriska a set of sleeping clothes to wear. After she got changed the two went into the kitchen to make some hot cocoa. They sat across from each other at the kitchen table.

"So," Vriska started after swallowing some hot cocoa. "What's going on between you and Karkat?"

Terezi nearly choked on her beverage. "Wh-What do you mean?"

"Oh please don't play coy, I see how you two act around each other. You can't tell me you don't like him."

Terezi cleared her throat in embarrassment, hoping her sister wouldn't hear. Otherwise she wouldn't hear the end of it. "I- well…Alright yeah I like him. He smells nice and even though he can seem like a grump he can be super sweet if he wants to." She replied in a hushed tone.

"Aw, and I know this doesn't matter to you but he is pretty cute too."

Terezi smiled gently. Vriska was right, looks obviously didn't matter to her, but she couldn't help but be curious. "Vriska?"

"Hm?"

"Would you mind describing him to me?"

Vriska sat and contemplated for a bit before finally responding. "Well, he has really pale skin, like almost white, his eyes are kind of dark brown with a hint of red in it but in all honesty they seem like contacts to me. His hair is kind of messy and black with no real style to it but it suits him. Oh man he is short too!"

Terezi laughed quietly and took another sip of cocoa. Vriska kind of had most people beat on the whole height thing so everyone was short to her, but Karkat especially.

"He's pretty skinny, no real muscle mass. Wears a lot of black hoodies and long pants but I mean it is August so that's kind of normal. He also wraps bandages around his hands like he's a boxer which is kind of odd. I don't know I guess that's it."

Terezi's smile was wide this time, looking in the direction of her friend's voice. "Thanks Vris, he does sound pretty cute, heh."

The rest of the night passed with them lying in bed and watching/listening movies, talking about school and Karkat and random things. The two fell asleep well into early Sunday morning.

Karkat hated hospital waiting rooms. They were filled with sick, injured people and the overwhelming feeling of anxiety. He'd only been in there for half an hour though. He began to pace in anger when his brother's doctor came in, pushing Kankri in a wheel chair.

"He'll be fine, just needs to take it easy for a few days."

Karkat nodded as he took the chair from the doctor and pushed him out the hospital door quickly, ignoring the doctor's concern for his bloodied fists. Kankri rose from his seat slowly and waited for Karkat to drop the chair off and walk him to the car. Both the walk and the car ride were unusually quiet. Karkat began to worry if his brother was really okay. Once they were in the comfort of their home Kankri sat on the couch, looked to his younger brother and finally spoke, "Karkat…"

"Kankri, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hit you I'm sorry-"Karkat began to tear up. Kankri grabbed his arm and pulled him down to the couch next to him.

"Karkat don't apologize to me. I should be the one to apologize to you…"

Karkat looked up from his hands and into his brothers sad eyes "What why? You didn't do anything."

"Exactly…I should have noticed something has been amiss with you."

Karkat looked at his brother in silence, standing up from the couch there was faint anger showing in his eyes. "What the fuck are you talking about? None of this is your fault Kankri."

"But it is! I should have known you would be beaten up after dad's death! I should have known and I should have helped you!" Kankri was standing and shouting by this point, something the older boy rarely ever did.

"Kankri I'm not some weak, little boy! This wasn't about you, or dad, so stop blaming yourself!"

"Then what was it about?"

Karkat fell silent, his gaze drifted to the floor, he was ashamed of what had made him see red. It was such a stupid thing to be angry about and he knew it. In all honesty he didn't know why he even reacted so harshly. "N-nothing just…never mind. All that matters is it isn't your fault okay?"

With no hesitation whatsoever Kankri stepped towards his little brother and grabbed his shoulders. "Karkat. Tell me what happened."
