Vriska sat in her room, knees brought up to her chest, eyes wide and teary as the news anchors continued to spew the information gathered on the… incident, that her and Tavros had weeks ago. Her phone was buzzing like crazy on the nightstand beside her, every time she glanced at it her best friend's name was displayed. No way in hell was she going to answer, she knew exactly what it was about and she didn't want to face that. Meanwhile she could hear her mother watching the same thing cursing and mentioning God at every comment of her daughter's name.

The memories she tried so hard to get out of her mind were being brought back and with so much force she couldn't stand it. She was so ashamed that she let the rage get the best of her. Why did she even do that? Because she was faced with a break-up? Just because she wouldn't be getting what she wanted she flipped out. Vriska knew she was bratty but this was a new low for her, this revelation completely sickened her to the point that she dug her nails into the skin of upper arms. She knew she was in trouble this time. She couldn't just lay low for a while, people would be after her. Even her best friend would go after her. She moved her hands from the torn flesh of her arms to the top of her head, her hands clenched so tightly they threatened to rip out chunks of hair. Her breathing hitched and her heart went crazy as she heard frantic footsteps running down the hall towards her room.

"Vriska!" Her mother nearly threw her door off of the hinges as she entered the teen's room. Vriska couldn't respond to her though, she was too busy hyperventilating at the all the impending situations that loomed before her. "Vriska how could you do something like this? How on Earth could you think that you could just get away with something like this?!" The door across the hall opened and Vriska's older sister Aranea stepped out, alarmed by the shouting that had interrupted her studying.

"What's going on mom?" Aranea questioned, voice wavering slightly.

"Your bone-head sister decided to put some poor boy in a wheelchair and neglected to tell me. I had to hear about it from the news!"

A sharp gasp escaped Aranea's lips as she pushed past her mother into Vriska's room, "Vriska oh my god is this true?" Again, Vriska couldn't bring herself to answer vocally so she nodded frantically.

The girls' mother growled as she rubbed her forehead. "Okay girls, you know the drill," Ms. Serket turned and headed down the hall, "get your bags packed and by the door as soon as possible. We need to get out of here."

Aranea's face was a twisted mess of shock, confusion, distress and reluctance. She was even a little angry at her sister for screwing things up once more. She didn't want to move, not again. Not when she had just gotten used to the town and made such great friends! But there was no way she could argue with her mother. So instead she stalked off to her room to pack her clothes and things.

Vriska's bed creaked as she slowly lifted herself off of it. Her breathing had calmed and she could finally speak, so the first thing she said was a stern, "No."

The house seemed to be trapped in time, her sister had stopped packing, and the sounds of things being shifted down the hall had stopped too. The only thing that could be heard was the faint sound of commercials playing from the living room. Vriska didn't realize her mother had been walking to her until she was right in front of her.

"Excuse me?"

"I'm not going to run from this."

"Child are you fucking crazy? Do you know how much trouble you could get into for this stunt?"

"Do you realize how much more trouble I'll get into if I don't take what's coming to me?" Her mother went quiet. "Mom, I need help. If we keep running every time I fuck things up I'll never learn from it. Plus it'll put some bad shit between all of us. I know Aranea doesn't want to leave. We can't make her leave."

There was a silence between the two before her mother sighed, "You really want to deal with this one Vris? It's not gunna get better for a long time."

"I know…"

Ms. Serket nodded and pulled her daughter into an embrace causing Vriska's emotional locks to break. She held onto her mother tightly as the sobs shook her entire body. After a good five minutes of that her mother let her go as the distressed teen had calmed down enough. Vriska had a lot to sort out, how she was going to make all of this right. The incessant buzzing of her phone hadn't stopped either, she knew she would have to deal with her friend soon enough and she was not in the mood to do it now. So she ignored all the calls and messages from her scourge sister and decided to get some sleep. Tomorrow was a school day so no doubt she would just talk to her tomorrow.

'Man… I am not looking forward to that…'

Terezi was pacing in front of the table her friends shared in the mornings. Everyone was there, except for the one person she wanted to speak to the most. Vriska better not be avoiding her, she wouldn't be able to avoid her for long any ways.

"Terezi what is wrong with you?" Dave asked, sounding cool and collected but Terezi heard faint concern in his voice as well.

She waved him off, not wanting to snap at him accidently. "Just tell me if you see Vriska okay?"

"…A'ight."

To her knowledge, none of her friends had watched the news last night. They weren't talking about it but she wasn't sure if it was out of obliviousness or because they didn't want to upset her. However she would be wrong in thinking none of them had seen the top story, one of them had to have seen it.

"Yo, Vriska spotted, turn around Rez."

And she did, she spun around so fast it would've made her dizzy but her mind was too focused to get dazed. Vriska, walking at a steady pace towards the table, took a deep breath and swallowed the lump in her throat. Her stomach was twisted into knots and fear was so clear in her eyes. She looked to the table at her friends, Gamzee was busy in his own little world, Karkat turned to see what was about to transpire before him, Dave had his head rested on hand but was no doubt intrigued as to what was going to happen, his head was facing more to Terezi, John however was focused on Vriska, his big blue eyes projecting sadness and shock. There was no suspicion in Vriska's mind that he knew what was going on. She stopped just short of Terezi, eyes still locked with John's. She blinked out of their gaze and turned to her best friend. "Hey."

"What the fuck is wrong with you?!" Terezi shouted. Everyone around them flinched back, unaware that Terezi could even get that mad.

"A lot apparently."

"Yeah no kidding! How could you do that?! What did he do that made you even think about that?"

"That's the thing Tz, I didn't think about it! I just, kind of blew up and before I knew it I was running away."

Terezi's mouth hung open and her eyebrows were knitted together in disbelief. "So you come to my house and you lie to me? You just straight up lie to my face? How could you?"

"I didn't lie! I just…"

"Didn't tell me you had almost killed someone. That's lying by omission Vriska!"

"Holy shit" Karkat muttered, trying to be quiet.

"Look, I didn't mean to do it okay?"

"I don't care! You still did it! And then you ran away! Vriska, he is paralyzed now! Because you couldn't take a break-up!"

"I know…" Vriska's voice cracked, she was struggling to keep her tears back.

"Do you really? Did you see him in his hospital bed? Did you see him when they put him in a wheelchair? Were you there when the doctor told him and his family he wouldn't be able to walk again?"

Vriska stayed silent, if she opened her mouth at all she would just end up screaming and breaking down.

"You didn't even go to visit him did you?" Terezi knew the answer was no before she even asked the question. "You didn't have the decency to buy him a get well card or some flowers either huh?"

The school bell rang through the school's cafeteria, they would have to wrap up this discussion soon, class would be starting in a few minutes. The kids at the table got up from their seats but none of them moved until Terezi did. "You know what Vriska, you need to grow up. Take responsibility for this. And since you hate answering any of my calls or texts go ahead and delete my number from your phone."

It was Vriska's turn to look shocked. Her best friend had just left her. She knew their encounter would be bad but she had never anticipated losing her scourge sister. She figured she would get yelled at then they could smooth things over a bit and Terezi would help her get over all of her problems. But no, now Vriska was utterly alone. The other's looked back at her every now again as they walked to their classes.

Maybe Vriska should have just left like her mother said.

It had only been a few days since the whole debacle at the table with Terezi and Vriska. John wondered if both of them would be showing up to his house today. As much as he wanted them to be okay again he knew having both of them in the same room would start some bad stuff. So he decided to pester Vriska and ask if she would still be joining them.

EctoBiologist [EB] began pestering ArachnidsGrip [AG]

EB: hey Vriska

AG: oh hey john

AG: what's up

EB: uh

EB: just wondering if you were still coming over for movies?

AG: mm… I don't think it's best if I do

AG: I'm sure there's at least one person who wouldn't want me there

EB: I don't even know if she's still coming either to be honest

AG: I honestly don't know why she would

AG: its not like she can even see the movies anyways.

EB: hehe yeah

EB: maybe I should've thought of that before I invited her :B

AG: seriously thank you for inviting me

AG: but I don't think I would be wanted there anyways

AG: even without her there

EB: aw what? I would want you there!

AG: please

AG: it's best if we just

AG: stop hanging out okay John?

EB: what no why!

AG: I don't want you getting into trouble okay

AG: youre too sweet

AG: so yeah, I'll see you l8r I guess.

ArachnidsGrip [AG] ceased pestering EctoBiologist [EB]

John sighed heavily, he still wanted to hang out with Vriska even if she was kind of crazy and mean sometimes. He…well…he really liked her. With his mood shot he was hoping the hangout with the gang and his cousin would lift his spirits. He finished getting things ready by the time the doorbell rang. With no hesitation he opened it to see his cousin! Her tan face was decorated with a wide smile. Her green eyes showing so much happiness that it almost instantly made John forget about his bad mood.

"Jade!" He flung his arms around her in a great bear hug. Today might be pretty good despite what he just had to deal with.

Maaaannn Vriska really goofed huh. And poor John, having his friend just start snubbing him like that. Maybe things will get better later?
mmmm probably not ;P
