Well, it's been a while hasn't it? But here's a two thousand word chapter to make up for it.

Chapter 46

"How did Will react?" I asked Christina once we had gotten back to her apartment.

"He was excited." She told me. "Overjoyed. But he didn't shine like Four had. I never thought that I would see him look like that."

"Neither did I," I said truthfully. Tobias had responded so much more, for lack of a better word, excited then I thought he would. I knew that when we saw each other at home that his hands would immediately find my stomach. He wouldnt want to let go.

"I think that the father usually finds it exciting at first, but then that excitement dies down after a while. At least that's how it is for Will." Christina said glumly.

I didn't really know what to say. I wanted to reassure Christina that Will was still excited, but how could I, when I didn't know what Will's feelings were. Maybe it did get old. Maybe Will just didn't find it thrilling anymore. It was probably different for everybody.

Out of nowhere, someone burst into the room.

"Where's the fire?" I shouted.

It was Marlene.

"No fire!" she exclaimed giddily. She was holding something in her right hand. As she crossed the room she brought it up to show us. A pregnancy test. A pregnancy test with a little plus sign on it.

"I'm pregnant!" she screeched.

Christina and I started to talk at the same time.

"That is awesome!" Christina said.

"Does Uriah know?" I asked.

Marlene answered me. "No!" she began. "I completely forgot about him!" And with that, she was gone.

I turned to Christina. "Is it weird that all three of us are pregnant at the same time?"

Christina considered this. "Actually it is. Now all we need is for Lynn to get knocked up. Then it can be even more weird!"

"Isn't Lynn a lesbian?" I asked. I'm pretty sure that I asked Tobias the same question not too long ago.

Christina's eyebrows furrowed. "Oh yeah. I think she is."

"Where is Lynn anyways?" I questioned. "I never see her anymore. Except sometimes at meal time."

"Good point. I'll ask the next time I see her." She looked down at her watch. "Speaking of meal time, we should go to lunch."

*Page Break*

As I was taking a bite of my hamburger, I felt someone slide into the seat next to me, lips tapping my cheek. I didn't have to look to know it was Tobias. The only other person who would ever kiss my cheek was Zeke when he was drunk. And I just know his lips.

I turned to him smiling and said, "Hey you."

He swiped my burger and took a bite. I playfully punched him in the arm.

Tobias just chuckled. "How's my girl doing?"

It was obvious that he wasn't talking about me. "The baby is not a girl." I told him.

"Do you know that for a fact?" He knew the answer.

"You know that I don't. But you don't either." I retorted.

"Touché." Tobias put his hand on my stomach, just like I thought he would. The baby kicked in response.

To my surprise, Lynn had indeed shown for lunch. Tobias, Christina, and I greeted her; then Christina dropped the question. "Hey Lynn, are you a lesbian?"

Lynn gave Christina a nasty look and was gone as quick as she had arrived. I expected her to be defensive but I didn't expect her to ignore the question completely. Christina looked over, obviously thinking the same thing.

"I'm taking that as a yes." said Christina.

"Might as well." Tobias agreed. "She didn't do anything to deny it."

When Tobias went up to go get some food, I saw a familiar face heading towards our table. I hadn't seen this girl for over a month.

"Hey Tris!" It was Gwen Parks, one of the four people who had come to change Dauntless. She was the one who didn't think that anything was wrong here. In fact, she even decided that she would like to live here. Recently, she had been in the other factions gaining approval for her transfer, as it wasn't normal for someone other than a sixteen year-old to switch factions. I wasn't sure why it took so long, but she was obviously approved if she was here.

"Hey Gwen. How are you?" I asked.

"Good! You and Christina look adorable, just so you know." She said cheerfully.

"Thanks." Christina said. She didn't really know Gwen, but she thought that the former Abnegation was a good addition to Dauntless.

I went back to my burger while Christina and Gwen made small talk. Tobias had finally returned to his spot next to me. At one point Gwen must have heard the door open because her head whipped around. I looked at her and saw disgust plastered all over her face.

"What is she doing here?" Gwen snarled.

I followed her gaze and matched the look of disgust. Standing near the door was another of the four. This one came from Candor. Bella Lynn Sawyer. But something about her looked different. Apparently I wasn't the only one who thought so.

"Does she look pregnant?" asked Christina.

I felt my eyes narrow. She did. Bella didn't look very pregnant though, maybe two months.

The brunette was scanning the room; I hoped she wasn't looking for us. But I wasn't that lucky. Her eyes locked onto mine and she stalked her way over.

When she reached us, Bella threw us a sarcastic smile and asked, "Did you all miss me?"

"Not a chance." I snapped.

"I'm sure Four missed me. Right?"

Tobias glared at her. "Why would I miss you?"

"You know why." Bella said smugly. What the hell was she talking about?

"Actually, I don't." Tobias was obviously confused.

"Don't tell me you've forgotten!" Bella remarked. "How could you have, when those nights were so amazing?"

I dropped my voice to a whisper. "What is she talking about?"

"I have no idea." Tobias whispered back.

"Oh Six," Bella began. "Wait. Do you mind if I call you Tris. Four told me your name and I just think Six is a little odd. You honestly have no idea, do you?"

I looked over at Christina; she was as lost as I was. "Yes, actually, I do mind. If you're trying to say something Sawyer, then spit it out."

"Do you want to tell her Four? Or do you want me to?" she asked.

There was a pit growing in my stomach. Whatever Sawyer was going to say was obvious. I was nervous, even though I knew that it couldn't be true. Tobias wouldn't do that to me. Would he?

"What are you talking about Bella?" Tobias had an edge to his voice.

"There's no sense in denying it anymore." Bella was growing giddy with excitement. She turned her attention to Tobias. "Tris deserves to know Tobias."

I tried to tell myself that Bella calling Tobias by his real name didn't mean anything. Jason revealed it at one of the meetings. But it still managed to bother me.

"What do I deserve to know?" I choked out. Tobias had his arm around me, but I didn't want it there. Right now, I just wanted to punch Sawyer in the mouth.

"Surely you've figured it out by now Tris. Do I really have to say it out loud?"

"Yes," I said angrily. "Say it. Out loud."

"Your beloved husband cheated on you. With me. More than once." She revealed.

I felt all the air get sucked out of me. I tried to sound as convincing as I could when I said, "I don't believe you." Christina was in shock. Gwen, on the other hand, didn't look so surprised.

Bella gestured to her stomach. "Isnt this proof enough?"

"No, it's not." Christina said. "For all we know, you could be the biggest slut in Candor."

Bella shot her a glare, then dug in her purse, pulling out a sheet of paper. She slid it over to me.

I picked it up and started reading. Tobias was peeking over my shoulder, trying to get a glance. It surprised me how quiet he has been, and it wasn't a good surprise.

The paper in my hands was a legal looking document. To be exact, it was the results of a paternity test. The expecting mother was Bella. According to the document, she was expecting twins. My eyes traveled down the paper, searching for the results. My stomach flipped when I saw it. Tobias Eaton was printed clearly. The document was even signed. By Doctor Hart.

Tobias saw his name the same time that I did. We looked at each other. I couldn't believe it. Christina took the paper from me, but I didn't look at her. I was too busy wondering how Tobias could do that to me. If Bella would have sent a letter saying that Tobias was the father of her twins, I would have laughed and ripped the paper in half. But her she was, in the flesh. Obviously pregnant and a legal document in hand. How could I deny that?

"Tris." Tobias began quietly. "I would never do that to you. I love you so much. Why would I need her when I already have the love of my life right next to me?"

"Well then how do you explain that?" I said just as quiet as I pointed at Sawyer.

"She's lying." He said it like it was obvious. He didn't try to back himself up anymore.

I could hear Christina and Gwen whispering to each other. "He's the one person that could lie to me. I can't tell if what he's saying is true."

"I think he cheated." Said Gwen. "I've never trusted him."

Both of those statements were true. Christina and Gwen have told me those exact words before. I can hardly tell if he lies to me either. Sometimes it's obvious, but he's good at hiding things.

"You could be lying just as easily." I told him.

"Tris, you know me." He pleaded. I wanted so badly to wrap my arms around him and tell him that I believe him. But I couldn't. I would not have meant it. "She's just trying to tear us apart."

"Look at her Tobias!" My voice was starting to rise. It said on the document that the date of conception was around two months ago. She was here two months ago. She has a paternity test that is signed by a doctor! Our own doctor! Your name is on the paternity test." I could feel tear threatening to spill.

"It's fake!" Tobias was starting to shout. "I love you Tris! I would never do something like this! Even if I was that kind of person, I still wouldn't because of our baby. I wouldn't knowingly destroy our relationship."

My baby kicked again, as if reminding me that they were there. It was almost a painful reminder. "You can have any girl you want." Tobias stopped me from saying any more.

"And I chose you!"

We were standing and everyone in the cafeteria was dead silent, staring at us.

"Even so, girls still latch themselves onto you. All those pretty girls that you could easily get with. They're willing. Now this," I gestured to Bella. "let's me know that you're willing too."

I had never seen Tobias so angry. There was fire in his eyes and I was actually scared.

"If I was willing, then why would I choose you?" he yelled. "Why would I choose a short, not pretty girl with no figure if I didn't see her true beauty and love her unconditionally?"

"Who knows?" I said softly. "Why would the short, not pretty girl with no figure think that the tall, muscular, and out of her league boy actually loved her when he could be with anyone he wanted?"

When Tobias didn't say anything I knew I that it was true. Tobias had cheated on me with Sawyer.

"Have fun with your slut." I told him.

I walked past him, desperate to get away from the judging looks. I heard Christina hiss, "Home wrecker," to Bella as she got up with Gwen and followed me. Jessie also appeared at my side.

None of them said anything. They knew that what I needed right now was to be alone and they were just escorting me to my apartment. The silence was nice. Encouraging words would have meant nothing and they knew it. And for that, I was grateful.

How was it? Please don't kill me. But good news everyone. The JV basketball team won our first game in two years. I'm pretty excited about it. And OMG! We're almost at nine hundred reviews! LOVE YOU ALL.
