Hola amigos! How are you today?

Chapter 64

Month 2

Every morning I wake up to horrible morning sickness. And every morning Tobias, being the amazing man that he is, wakes up with me so that he can hold my hair back. I'm not sure what I would do without him. Hopefully we'll never have to find out.

"Is it getting any better?" Tobias asked cautiously.

I flushed the toilet, but didn't look up at him. I didn't like him seeing me like this, though he didn't seem to mind.

"Not really." I admitted. "If anything it's getting worse."

"Is there anything you can do?" he asked. "Anything you can take?"

"Not that I know of. Most medicines aren't good for pregnant women."

After I had brushed my teeth, Tobias picked me up and set me back on the bed. "If there's anything you need me to do just let me know. Anyone you want to see, I'll get them. Anywhere you want to go, ill thank you. Anything you're craving, I'll make it."

I smiled at him, but resisted giving him a kiss due to the fact that I was just vomiting minutes ago. "I love you so much."

Month 3

The morning sickness has almost subsided completely. Every few days or so I'll get a little sick, but it's nothing major. Tobias is still being as supportive and helpful as he can be. He's always insisting on getting everything I need, getting up in the middle of the night to get Carter when she cries. He also feels the need to escort me to work after dropping off Carter. The last part is getting kind of annoying, but I'm not going to complain. There is no way that I'm letting this special treatment end so soon.

After work Tobias picked up Carter and brought her home. I was already there and I was already close to falling asleep. Of course, there is no sleep when you have a baby and a husband who likes to deprive you of certain things. Primarily sleep. Actually, only sleep.

His method of keeping me awake this time was letting Carter plant her little feet directly on my face; I'm not exactly a huge fan of feet.

"Get her off." I ordered without opening my eyes.

When the feet stayed put, I opened one eye. "Would you like me to murder you in your sleep?" I asked menacingly.

"Nope," he said, quickly removing our daughter's feet from their current location. Tobias lifted my feet and sat where they once were. He set them back on his lap and cradled Carter to his chest. She squirmed in his grasp and reached for me.

"Hand her over." I said, knowing that she'd cry if he didn't.

"Every time I sit by you when I'm holding her I always end up handing her over." Tobias told me. "I need to stop sitting by you."

I smiled at Carter as I tapped her nose, causing her to giggle.

"Too bad you love me too much."

Month 4

"Tris!" Christina squealed. "You're finally starting to show!"

"Oh really?" I deadpanned. "I hadn't noticed."

My friend gave me a playful slap before turning serious. She was giving me a funny look that was starting to creep me out a little bit.

"Do you have something to tell me?"

"Yes I do." She said. "But I'm not exactly sure yet so I don't know if I should tell you."

"Just spit it out already." I told her.

"I may or may not be pregnant again." She whispered excitedly.

"But you're not sure?" I asked.

"It's a little early to tell, but I feel pregnant. I can't explain it." She said.

I just looked at her, not exactly sure what to say. She thinks she's pregnant, but she hasn't taken any tests to prove it. She just feels like she's pregnant.

"Well, congratulations? I don't really know what to tell you."

"Should I tell Will?" she asked nervously.

"Christina," I began. "You don't even know for sure if you're pregnant. Don't get his hopes up only to have it not be true."

She sighed and big mournful sigh. It was obvious how much she wanted this. "You're right." She seemed to look at my slightly protruding stomach longingly. "Let's go talk to Four about the little him that's going to be running around."

"Now you think it's a boy too?" I asked.

"No," she said. "It's a girl. I'm just humoring you."

Month 5

"This kid is so squirmy!" I complained to Tobias, who was lying on the bed next to me, Carter in between us.

"Is it kicking?" Tobias asked, suddenly excited.

"No," I said, putting a damper on his emotions. "He is just moving around a lot."

Tobias put a hand on my stomach, anxious to feel the movement. He grinned and began to speak. "What's that baby? You're tired of mommy calling you a boy because you're actually a girl? Don't worry, I'll tell her."

He looked up at me. "The baby is a girl."

I rolled my eyes. Even though I didn't know for sure, I was still convinced that the baby was a boy. It was kind of like Christina feeling like she was pregnant, even though it was too soon to tell. Turns out she was right. In fact, she found out that she's having twins.

I picked Carter up and lightly set her on my bump. "What do you think baby girl?" I cooed. "Is mommy having a boy or a girl?"

Carter is nine months old so she's getting closer and closer to speaking her first words. Usually a child will know and use one to two words when they're a little over a year old, but she should be saying momma or dada soon. Tobias has been trying to help her and she's getting very close.

Carter giggled and waved her arms. Who knew what it was actually supposed to mean, but Tobias took it as a sign that she agreed with him. He lifted her up and cheered.

"Mommy is having a girl, isn't she Carter?"

"Momma!"

Tobias and I looked at each other.

Carter had just said her first word.

Month 6

Tobias and I were sitting on the ground a little ways apart, facing each other. I had to sit up a little straighter otherwise my stomach would get in the way.

Tobias was holding Carter up by her underarms. All week, we've been trying to get her to walk on her own. So far she's only been able to take a wobbly step or two before sitting down on her butt. Tobias and I were determined that she would walk today.

"Ok Carter," Tobias said. For some reason he was using his 'Four voice,' as if it would motivate our daughter. "Concentrate. Walk to mommy."

I stretched out my arms, reassuring Carter that I'd be here for her.

Tobias slowly released Carter, allowing her to stand on her own. Immediately she plopped down on the ground. Tobias hoisted her up again and told her to focus.

"Tobias, she's a baby. She doesn't know how to focus." I said. But as I spoke, Carter took a tentative step towards me. Then another. And another. Pretty soon she was right in front of me, and she got there all by herself.

"Good job Carter!" I cooed while lifting her into the air.

Tobias took her and spun her around. "You walked before Grayson!" he cheered. "That's my girl!"

Tobias stopped spinning when he noticed me wincing.

"Are you ok?" he asked worriedly.

"Yeah," I reassured him. "Braxton Hicks contractions that's all."

"You didn't get those with Carter though." he said.

"Every pregnancy is different Tobias." I told him. "I haven't almost been killed yet."

Month 7

"The baby is kicking a lot today," Tobias observed when his hand was resting on my stomach.

"I know," I said. "I can't sleep because of it."

I was only two months away from my due date and so far, nothing has gone wrong. Part of me is relieved. Part of me thinks it's good to be true. I just have this feeling that something is going to go wrong very, very soon. And that scares me to death.

"What are you thinking about?" Tobias whispered.

"Why are you whispering?" I asked, trying to avoid the question. Tobias would just think that I'm paranoid.

"I'm not sure," he admitted. "But seriously, what are you thinking about. You look nervous."

"I just feel like something is going to happen soon." I told him.

Tobias put his arm around me comfortingly. "I'm not going to let anything happen to my family." He said. "C'mon. Let's go get some dinner."

"Is Carter sleeping?" I asked. "I don't want her to wake up while we're gone."

"We'll bring her with then." He said. "I'm sure that her godfather would love to see her."

"Uriah needs a break from her. She's going to be just as addicted to Dauntless cake as he is if she's with him anymore." I said while laughing.

Tobias grabbed Carter out of her room and joined me in the hall. When we got in the cafeteria, we saw that nearly all of our friends were there. Christina and Will were at an appointment.

When Uriah was busy feeding Carter some frosting, I looked around the cafeteria. I froze when I saw a familiar blond woman walk in. Zeke and Tobias noticed and followed my gaze. They too looked shocked.

Uriah, still feeding Carter frosting, was completely oblivious to the girl that was now making her way over to us.

"Uriah," I said quietly. "Give me Carter."

"Why?" he said, reluctantly giving her to me.

I didn't answer. I didn't really think that Marlene would try to take her again, but I wasn't taking any chances. There was no way that I would put an ounce of trust into Marlene. It didn't matter that she couldn't go through with the plan to steal Carter. She still attempted.

"Marlene," I said warily as she appeared behind Zeke and Uriah.

Uriah's eyes widened and he turned his head. He and Marlene were locked in an awkward stare down. Without a word, Uriah got up and left the table. I can't say that I blame him. Marlene let their relationship go to shit and he wanted nothing more to do with her.

"I'm sorry." Is all Marlene said before she walked away.

Month 8

Marlene kept her distance. She never approached us again. Uriah made a point of showing that he was now with Serena. As for me, I let her stay away. I didn't need anything from her.

"Tobias," I called. When he came into the room I said, "What are the birthday traditions here?" We never celebrated our own. I didn't even know what mine was. I just wanted to know because Carter would be a year old in two days.

"I'm not exactly sure," he answered. "I've never asked. Why?"

"I just didn't know if we were going to celebrate our children's birthdays." I told him.

"I think that we should just stick with not celebrating. It's what we're used to." he said.

"I agree." After a few minutes, I grabbed Tobias' hand and placed it on my protruding stomach. Tobias smiled. The baby always seemed to kick more when he had his hand there. It was like that with Carter too.

"Just a few more weeks." I said.

"Just a few more weeks." Tobias repeated.

Month 9

I woke up to a contraction. This wasn't a Braxton Hick's one either. This was the real thing.

I knew better than to make a big deal about it. Labor can last a long time. I didn't even know that I was in labor with Carter.

I made an attempt to go back to sleep. I could only drift off for a few minutes before another contraction woke me up. Pretty soon I'd have to get up and tell Tobias so that we could go to the infirmary.

I didn't really get the chance.

Before I could tell him, my water broke. On the bed.

"Shit." I said while sitting up.

Tobias rolled over and looked at me. "What?"

"My water just broke." I told him.

"All over the bed?" I nodded. "Oh, okay. Gross!"

"We can worry about that later." I said. "I've been having contractions for a while and we need to get to the infirmary unless you want me to have this baby right here."

"No thank you." He said, immediately helping me get up. "How far apart are they?"

"Does it look like I have a stopwatch on me?" I snapped.

"Sorry," he said quietly.

"No, I am." I said. "I'm just in pain right now. And I literally mean right now because I feel like I should be pushing."

"Oh," Tobias said stupidly. "Well, don't do that. Um, I'll just try to carry you."

"Don't. I don't want to get you all gross. I'll be fine if you just help me a little."

On our way to the infirmary, we stopped at Uriah's since his apartment was closest to ours. When he answered we told him to go to our apartment, which was unlocked, and get Carter.

Uriah grinned before he left. "Go have that baby Tris."

I wish that I could be more interactive with you guys. I'm not talking about letting you help with a chapter or stuff like that. I want to be truly interactive. If you have any ideas, let me know. Ya'll are my faves!
