Chapter 5

"Hmmm, it's hot in here." I mumbled removing the blanket from over my legs. I felt someone grab onto me. "Did I bring someone home with me last night?" I thought. I looked down and saw Gai fast asleep hugging my chest. Oh, it's just Gai. I looked at my clock through the darkness of my room, it's 6am.

"Gai, let me go." I said pulling his arms off.

"No!" He said re-grabbing me.

"But Gaaaaiiii, I need to pee!" I wined.

He then grunted and released me. "hurry up and come back!"

"I'll try not to get lost, but no promises." I said as I walked into my bathroom.

Well, he doesn't seem like he wants to get up soon. I guess I should ask him when I go back. As I got ready to relieve myself, I found a surprise. Oh the joys of morning wood. I just Ignored it and finished up. After washing my hands, I went back to bed and assumed the same position.

"Hey Gai?" I said as I ran my fingers through his soft hair.

"What, my rival?" He asked enjoying my attention.

"Do you want to get up some?" I asked.

"Do I have to?" He said.

"Or we could sleep in and cuddle some more." I added teasing Gai a little.

I could tell just from his voice that he had a major hangover. it's better that he skipped morning training and slept in.

"I have to leave for a mission tonight." Gai said as he pulled the blanket over his head.

"But isn't Lee's surgery-" I started.

"Yes, the surgery is happening while I am on the mission!" He said from under the blanket. "Do you think Tsunada planned it like that!?" Gai yelled as he popped his head out to look at me.

"I think we are short handed and she needs you to go on this mission." I said truthfully.

"Yeah, I guess your right." He said as he relaxed pulling the blanket away from his face.

"Are you going to go see him before you leave?" I asked.

There was silence as Gai looked up at the ceiling. A silence that made me worry. Gai was never silent.

"I can come with, if you want." I offered calmly shrugging my shoulders.

"My rival, always so calm, cool, and hip." Gai said as his voice cracked and tears started to fall from his eyes when he looked over at me.

"Gai, me being calm, cool, and hip is nothing to cry about." I said rolling my eyes.

He sniffled and then proceeded to wipe the tears from his face.

"Lets sleep some more." I said as I pulled Gai back against me. "You're not the only one who has to go on a mission later."

Gai just nodded and went back to his sleeping position. In no time at all we were both asleep again.
