The angel Katherine felt weak for the first time in her existence and she didn't like it. Laying in a pool of her own blood she turned her head to see the bodies of her fallen brothers and sisters laying around her and couldn't help but for the first time to question their purpose, why had God abandoned them in their time of need, why did Father no longer love them.

She raised her eyes to look at the girl who stood over the bodies. Katherine knew that although she might have looked like just a girl, that thing was most definitely something else, something so very powerful. She wore a cloak of evil unlike anything ever seen before yet at her core an innocence was trying to shine through.

They shouldn't of tried to take her but she fitted the description of the girl Cas and the Winchesters were looking for and she had been so different from anything they'd ever come across the Angels couldn't help but be drawn to her, eager to discover her origin. It had been their undoing.

Katherine knew of no way other than an angel blade to kill an angel of the Lord yet this girl, this thing had smited them all.

She rolled onto her back and looked to the sky remembering heaven. The feeling of belonging and of home filled her mind so completely that she smiled to herself. It was her last thought as Bea moved to stand over her.

"How does someone kill an angel without a blade?" Sam asked looking at the bodies spread around the field, the black outlines of their wings burnt into the grass where they lay, Dean was walking amongst them seemingly desperate for a clue as to what happened here.

"There is no such known way" Cas answered his face pitched with distress "too many brothers and sisters have died recently, I will not ask anymore to help in our search for Bea"

Dean's head shot up at the mention of her name and he aggressively walked back to Cas "Look if this was Bea that took them out, and we don't know that for sure, then she must of felt threatened by them" his face a picture of denial as he pointed at Cas "You angel douches don't exactly have a good track record for being approachable and forgiving"

Cas tilted his head slightly and took a deep breath in making him raise to his full height, his voice menacingly seriously as he spoke "And I think you are too close to this to see the truth here, the truth that Bea..."

"Don't Cas" Dean shouted. A tense silence followed before Dean seemed to deflate before their eyes, shaking his head sadly and feeling heavier every moment that went by without finding her "I just can't give up yet. Look man I'm sorry about your angel buddies but no one here can say that they haven't once been so far gone that someone should of put them down but we always found our way back, hell we bought each other back from the darkness so many times its a wonder that we are sane at all"

Sam gave Dean a small sympathetic smile before letting him carry on, his voice thick with emotion.

"Please guys we have to help her find her way back, I can't give up yet, please"

"Okay Dean" Sam said as he moved forwards to pat his brother on the shoulder

"Okay" Cas said looking intently into Dean's eyes to let him know he was serious "but just us. No more outside help" he nodded towards the fallen angels

"Agreed, and thanks"
