Ready for the next part? No? Well, too bad.
Percy and I then was forced to bring our stuff and Mom's to the car while Mom made the crappy bean dip. Not that it was crappy tasting though, Mom actually made pretty good dip, it was just that it was for Gabe. And anything for that ass was crappy by default. Either way, we were stuck with the luggage and that kind of sucked because I had this habit if backing everything I needed, even if I didn't really need it.
Once we got all the stuff in the car we took a break, waiting for Mom to finish up. Once she had finally finished we left, but not before I heard a loud slam and an even louder sound of pain from Gabe. I giggled a bit in my hand as Percy ran to the car.
"What'd you do?" I whispered to him once he entered the car.
"I have no idea," he whispered back with slight fear in his voice. I shrugged it off and put on my earphones, blasting my favorite band. While I was doing that my brother and Mom were making small talk about school and work. At least, I assume that's what they were talking about from the few snippets I got from the conversation. While they went on with their conversation, I stayed in my seat, smiling as trees and cars speed past us and we speed past them. I even saw a few people on horses, (which I later found out to be centaurs, )and some deer (who were just deer as far as I know. But with my life that was more of an oddity than the centaurs at this point. )
I smiled more once we got to the beach and parked in our usual spot next to the cabin.
"Finally!" Percy grins as we both go to the trunk to take out our stuff. I nod in agreement and then drag the bags inside while Mom cleaned up. Then my brother and I unpacked and placed everything where it was supposed to go, and Mom dusted and swept up the house.
"Ready to go out?" She then asked once she was finished with the work and we were all done with the unpacking. I gladly nodded and looked out the window to check if it was still light out. Sadly it wasn't, so we couldn't swim yet, but we could have a little fire and marshmallows so that made up for it. We all rushed outside, gathered supplies, and started a fire. I then took out my special lighter, a present from Gabe from before he had became an ass, and lit the campfire.
"Are you ready kids!?" I yelled after the stack of sticks was fully on fire.
"Aye, aye captain!" Percy yelled out, mocking my favorite way to start our vacation every time we came to the beach.
"Calm down kids, people are sleeping," Mom reprimanded us. I rolled my eyes, and in response she just looked at me with the Guilt Trip Glare. My only weakness! I nodded then in agreement to stay silent, and then stayed quiet for the rest of the conversation. I was just fine with watching Mom and Percy talk about dad and where we were going to school next year. Eventually Mom brought up how much Perch and I looked like our father, with our matching dark hair and bright green eyes, the only difference between us was my long hair and freckles. I sat there for a while thinking about my father and why he didn't stay with us, and by a while I mean until the fire went out. Up until we went to sleep and even in my dreams. To be completely honest, I don't really remember that dream too much, all I really remember is the feeling on loss when I woke up to a loud banging. At first I thought the banging was all in my head, then I realized it was coming from the front door. Suddenly, I heard the door open and a gasp as Percy said who was at the door. I sat on my bed in shock, but then shook off my stupor and rushed to the door where I saw Grover. But it wasn't Grover, it was a goat, with a Grover costume on. A really good Grover costume, and it was standing up by itself and talking like Grover. In fact, if it wasn't for the hooves and furry legs I would have sworn that it was Grover. But it couldn't be, right? I mean, Grover is a human, like me and like everyone else. Right?
