Chapter five – Hiding
Percy woke to the sound of sobbing, opening his eyes he looked at the sleeping Nico. Percy felt sick when he saw the streams of tears falling down the sleeping boy's face. Percy sat, wincing at the pain that rocked through his body…torn-he was definitely torn down there.
"Shh..." Percy hushed wiping the tears from his beautiful face "I'm here Nico, I won't leave-I won't let you go through this alone." Nico sniffled in his sleep and curled closer to Percy whimpering as the small movement caused him pain. Percy stroked his fingers through the beautiful hair, staring at the boy as he slept.
Nico opened his heavy eyes to see sea-green ones looking down at him. Percy smiled at him and ran a hand through his damp curls. Nico tried to move slightly and cried out in pain causing Percy to wrap his arms round him and hold him close.
"Don't move...we're both torn down there…" he whispered. Nico nodded and rested his head on Percy's chest enjoying the warmth. "Nico…?" Nico hummed in reply arm on Percy's waist keeping him close.
"We tell anyone, can we?" Percy sounded so broken and scared. Nico didn't know what to say, he knew they should tell someone but could they? What if they weren't believed? What if Gabe found out and hurt them? Hurt Percy's mom? Hurt Percy?! No-they couldn't tell anyone, not if Percy could get hurt again, but...if they tell maybe someone could stop it? This was too hard for him to figure out, how does Percy cope with this?
"We can't….not till we find someone we can trust."
"Who can we trust?" Percy kissed the top of his head "No one will believe us."
"That's right bitch!", came the snide voice of Gabe, "No one will ever believe you!", he leant against the door frame looking over the boys, "Get out here!".
"We need a doctor!" Nico said angrily as Percy tensed, Gabe's eyes darkened as he looked at the Italian boy.
"You come out here and earn the right to be healed" Gabe spat at the two boys, as Gabe turned and walked out, Percy looked to Nico.
"Trust me…if we see a doctor…say your got rough with a friend, don't try and hint at abuse or anything…Gabe always takes me to the same doctor and he always hands him some money on the way in…nothing we can do." Nico nodded.
"They won't let me go home will they?" Nico whispered.
"Gabe will have already rung your dad saying I want you to stay, there is no escape from this hell..." Percy said, his face burying into Nico's neck. Nico sighed at the comforting touch, he just wished he could've gone back in time and found Percy then and wrapped him up in a blanket, away from the evil that was putrefying in these walls. Nico turned and gently brushed the hair out of Percy's face.
"I'll get you out of this Percy, I promise...". Green eyes looked into brown and a silent agreement was made. They would be free from Gabe eventually.
"Get out here!" Gabe's voice filled the room and both boys winced, "Now!". Percy tried to get up first, his face contorting in pain as his muscles worked against him, Percy stood, his eyes glistening in pain.
"Its easier if you just do it." Percy said and Nico nodded, crawling to his feet and crying out at the pain in his lower back.
"Fuck!" he cried as he stood straight up and looked at Percy then to the door, "This is going to be bad." Percy nodded, "Has he ever done this before?" the green-eyed boy shook his head "Oh, well at least he hasn't done this to anyone else."
The two boys walked into the largest room in the apartment, the boys walked into hell.
Nico coughed and spluttered whilst trying to swallow down the 'food' they were forcing them to eat. It tasted salty and gross and it smelt like cheap dog food, the salt came from the ejaculations that were sprayed from the men so their 'good little bitches' could have an extra big treat. Nico could hear Percy's soft sobs as he struggled to swallow down the food and tried to raise his head to look at him but his head was slammed back down to the plastic dog bowl, he didn't even want to think about where that had come from, Percy didn't even own a dog!
"Stop...stop please!" Percy sobbed slightly and Nico flinched when he heard the sound of fist on flesh.
"Shut up bitch!" Gabe snapped, "Eat what we give you!" Percy choked back a sob as his head was forced back to the slop. Nico risked a look at Percy and wished he hadn't, his eye was swelling up leaving a huge bruise.
"Gabe surely that's enough-" Miles snapping "I wanna fuck these bitches and leave before your whore comes back!"
"Fine! Let's do it!"
Nico just managed to close his eyes as he was forcefully pushed into the mush below him as one of the brutal men thrust ruthlessly into him, he heard the muffled cries of Percy as he was no doubt being put through the same torture. Tears dropped from his shut eyes and dripped into the 'food' as the man above him finish his assault and the next took his place. Nico didn't have chance to adjust as he was raped again. A firm hand yanked his face up from the mush by his hair, bringing him face to face with the foul and flaccid member of Miles.
"Aww...we messed up the bitches pretty face!" Miles mocked in a sweet tone, whilst his meaty hand wrapped round the flesh in front of Nico's eyes, "Maybe I should clean it for you?" Nico clenched his jaw shut and closed his eyes, waiting for the impending assault on his throat when his mouth was eventually forced open but it didn't come. Nico wanted to scream as the warm stream of bodily fluid coated his face and the horribly stench of piss filled his nostrils, the horrid sound of the men's laughter filling the air and the painful tearing of his behind wracking his body. Nico felt the vile liquid wash away the reminisce of his mushy face pack as Miles wiped the remaining drops in his hair "There we go boys, the bitch is all nice and pretty again!", laughter pierced the air once more and Nico slipped further inside his mental hell of humiliation. He faintly heard Percy yell something in protest towards what had just happened and the muffled sound of fist on flesh. Nico wanted to die.
"Nico!" Percy screamed at him, "Leave him alone!", he shouted at the men trying to stand in front the onslaught on Nico's body. The following laughter was interrupted by the shrill shriek of the phone ringing.
"Fuck, that's his whore of a mother!" Gabe snapped, waddling off towards the phone. Percy and Nico held their breaths, not daring to hope that maybe-they could be free. The room was silent as Gabe made his way back, "Let 'em go!" he growled. "You shower up and get this place spotless, your mum will be home in a couple of hours"
"Hours? That's enough time to get a few more fuckings!" Dave laughed.
"Are you stupid?" Miles snapped, "Look at this fucking mess, if she sees this then-"
"She won't, she won't find out either cause they won't tell!". All eyes turned to the silent and scared boys "Or else I'll kill them both myself.". Percy and Nico both stood slowly and headed towards the bathroom to clean up
Nico fell forward into Percy's room landing on the soiled bed and burst into thick, uncharacteristic sobs and he hated it. Nico hated the way his nose got all snotty and his cheeks were red and puffy and he definitely defiantly hated the stupid little noises that tore from his throat. It was infuriating.
"Nico." Percy said and when Nico didn't move Percy decided it was his turn to be strong. Percy filled the bath with warm water making sure the shampoo and conditioner were within reaching distance, got the only pain medication he could find and filled a glass full of water and set them on the bed side table. "Nico I need you to take these whilst I start cleaning up out there.", Nico nodded and shakily swallowed the medication.
Percy walked out into the kitchen and realised that the men had picked up the bowls and made them vanish as well as some of the more basic of the tidying. Percy hated how that part of him –a very microscopic part- was grateful that he didn't have to do it all like usual. He scrubbed and cleaned till his fingers and knees were so raw from the floor that he had to stand. Then he returned his attention to Nico; who was sobbing silently on his bed.
"Nico...I ran a bath but I don't think we could go in separately and not pass out..." Nico nodded in understanding as Percy helped him into the bathroom and climbed into the tub still holding the Italian. Nico tense and winced when his sore lower region came in contact with the water and the bottom of the bath tub.
"Sorry..." Nico sniffled, hiding his face in his hands, Percy was about to protest that he didn't have anything to be sorry for but Nico shook his head "I'm sorry I didn't save you earlier.", he looked at Percy with soft brown eyes "Please…I know you will probably never forgive me but please just…know I'm sorry...". Tears dropped from the brown pools and fell down the soft cheeks.
"Nico don't be." Percy spoke in a soft tone kissing away every single tear "It's not your fault, I wish I had never told you…". Nico looked at Percy in shock and slight annoyance, ".. and then maybe you wouldn't have gone through this!"
"Percy! I would've still come round to see you. I...I love you!" Nico's eyes widened at his accidental admission. "I always have...", he whispered. Percy stared at Nico, Nico stared at Percy then their mouths met in a soft, sweet kiss.
"I love you too, Nico." Nico smiled, a true and happy smile for the first time in what seemed like days.
Percy and Nico spent the next thirty or so minutes scrubbing each other raw of the scent of the foul men washing all traces inside and out. Nico stood to get out of the bath and Percy let out a loud gasp.
"Shit!-Nico you need a doctor! I can still see some blood coming out!" Nico flinched.
"I'm fine, Percy." Nico got out, wrapping Percy's favourite fluffy towel around himself and smiled when he saw the cute little smile that was on Percy's face.
"We still need to get you to a doctor" Percy stood and Nico nodded but who could they trust? "Come on," Percy wrapped the other towel around his waist and went to his closet. "They'll be a bit big, but they'll do right?" Percy pulled out two pairs of tracksuit bottoms and a couple of comfy t-shirts and hoodies.
"Erm...Can I...erm, borrow some boxers too?"
"Yeah." Percy blushed slightly then handed over the clothes before drying and pulling his own set on.
When Percy and Nico surfaced from the room all the men were gone including Gabe, yet there was a note on the table.

Don't you dare tell anyone or else. I'll take you to doctor's later so don't go blabbing your whore mouth off to Sally.

"He couldn't even spell the rest of his name!", Percy crumpled up the note throwing it towards the bin "You better ring your parents and check its ok for you to stay today I don't want Gabe beating the shit out of us because we didn't go today.", Nico nodded and pulled out his black phone scrolling through the contacts until he came to his father's name.
Hades Di Angelo was one of New York's finest, he was a tall man with the same basic features as his son. Hades face was of a more angular nature compared to the softness of Nico's which he inherited from his mother. He was a tall man at over 6 foot and took a lot of pride in his job and family. Nico had often felt his father was distant since the death of his mother Maria Di Angelo and his sister Bianca who died in a horrific building collapse where they used to live.
"Hello sir." Nico spoke into the phone "Yes I am sir, no I won't be home for dinner I'm staying at a friends ok…bye…" Nico hit the red end call button on his screen and smiled gently towards Percy, "He was going to ask if I could stay at someone's house tonight anyway…he's proposing to his girlfriend Persephone.". Percy hugged Nico
"What was that for?" Nico asked, surprised
"You're doing that thing where you smile as if your happy with something, but I know you're not." Percy smiled and kissed him and Nico melted into his arms, pulling his best friend closer. "So...do you want to talk about why your unhappy?"
"Apart from what happened last night?" Nico mumbled and Percy nodded, "No...though we could watch a movie or something instead?" Nico looked up at Percy, hoping he would understand.
"Sure,come on." Percy sat on the couch and pointed Nico towards the DVD shelf, Nico wandered over and looked back at Percy.
"You have a lot of stuff about Greeks and Romans…" Nico looked at the DVD names, Clash of the Titans. Wrath of the Titans, Olympus Has Fallen, the Curse of Hercule and Disney's Hercules...Nico couldn't help but laugh when he saw the last two films "Finding Nemo? The little mermaid?" Percy blushed as Nico held up his childish DVD's.
"What? They're cheerful and I like them…don't judge me!"
"I'm not judging!" Nico turned round to place the DVD's back "Much…" he laughed picking out one of the only DVD's he liked and putting it on before heading back to Percy, who much to Nico's protest pulled him onto his lap and cuddled. Nico Di Angelo does not cuddle! Well…apparently not with anyone but Percy Jackson- but come on its Percy fricking Jackson. Half way through the movie and they heard the door open.
"Percy! I'm home!"
"In here mom!" Sally Jackson appeared in the room and smiled.
"Hey Nico, I didn't know you were staying." Sally observed the way Percy was holding Nico and grinned, "I'm so happy for you two!"
"Mo-o-m." Percy moaned hiding his blushing face as Nico chuckled.
"Thank you ." Nico smiled.
"At least one of you has manners!" She smiled and pulled out a bag of blue candy. "Percy, I brought you candy." Percy was up in a flash; wincing slightly as he placed Nico gently down in his spot and was hugging his mom, taking the white and red bag.
"Thanks Mom!", Sally was frowning when Percy looked at her again, she grasped his chin "It's nothing..."
"Percy…" Sally surveyed the partially covered bruises on her sons face.
"…I-erm..got into a fight at school, someone called me a fag and it kicked off." He murmured, turning his head away from her grasp folding his arms and lowering his gaze.
"And Nico-you were in this fight too?" Nico nodded.
"You should see the other guy though." Nico laughed and Sally frowned.
"This isn't something to laugh about Nico, both of you should know better than to get into fights, especially you Nico! Your father will not be happy…I hope you've told him!"
"Yes ma'am" Sally nodded and left the room, Percy sat down and offered Nico the bag.
"I don't like lying." He whispered to Percy who frowned.
"I have to protect her…she's my Mom." he whispered eating a blue candy. Nico kissed his cheek in understanding and smiled when he was offered sweets.
"They're all blue?"
"It's kind of a stick it to Gabe…". Percy smiled when Nico shrugged and pulled out a blue lolly and started sucking it, "That's sinful." Percy murmured, watching Nico for a second before turning his attention back to the film and blushing when Nico laughed.
