Jared had me slung over his shoulder. He was headed towards the bar and I could already feel the blood gathering in my head. I think Quil and Paul noticed that too.

"Man, let her go. It looks like her head's going to blow." Quil shouted, running across the street.

"Seriously, Quil! Her head's as red as a cherry and she's gonna pop!" Paul yelled, jogging alongside Quil.

"If anyone knows anything about popping cherries, it'd be you." Quil retorted.

I looked up and saw Paul glaring at Quil. "The fuck is that supposed to mean?"

Quil stared ahead. "You fucked the most girls out of anyone I've ever known."

From what I could see, Paul didn't like that comment. "That doesn't mean I would know most about it!" Paul steamed and looked over at Jared, whom still had me over his shoulder. "Plus, some of the girls I've slept with looked like something else popped it."

Fuck! He knew that when we had sex, that it wasn't my first time. Shit, I thought I was safe and that he wouldn't say anything. Knowing Paul, he's not going to stop pressing the matter until he finds out who did pop my cherry.

Jared finally brought me back to my feet and the blood came rushing down to my feet. I instantly felt light-headed and I was about to fall to the ground until two arms saved me.

"You fucker, I told you that wasn't a smart idea." I looked up and saw Paul supporting me.

"This is why Jake doesn't trust her with either of you!" Quil interjected with a humorous smile. That's why I loved Quil. He never took anything seriously.

"Well Black can go suck a fucking rock. Jared and I have been wolves longer than him." Paul sneered.

"But he's the Alpha, so it doesn't matter who phased first." Jared pointed out, taking me out of Paul's arms. Wow, I guess I'm not the only one who's sick and tired of Jacob sometimes.

As we approached the bar, I noticed a bouncer guarding the front door. Then it hit me - I'm the only one here who's twenty-one!

"Wait, you guys aren't of age." I told them.

They glanced at each other and started laughing. "Bella, do you really think they would card us?" Paul slung his arm around me.

"Yeah Bells, out of all of us, you would be the one they would card." Quil laughed.

Paul stuck to my side until we reached the front door. Everyone went in but me. The bouncer held up his hand and said, "Miss, I need to see some ID."

I stared at the guys to see them laughing their ass off and I glared at them while I handed the bouncer my ID.

"Hey Ray, make sure she's not freak!" Jared shouted.

The bouncer handed me back my ID and waved me through. I continued to glare at Jared until he was in range for me to hit him.

"Fuck Bella, I was just joking!" He said, rubbing his arm. Quil and Paul snickered while I glowered at them.

Quil started to jump up and down at this point, full of excitement. "Hey! A pool table's open!"

Jared's eyes widened. "They're almost never available on a Saturday night."

"Yo bro, can you guys get the drinks while Jared and I save a table?" Quil asked.

"Sure, we'll be there soon." Paul answered.

They ran over to the pool table and pulled four sticks, laying them flat on the table. I looked at Paul. "I really don't know how to play."

Paul smiled at me. "Don't worry babe, I'll teach you." He winked. I felt my stomach tingle when he called me babe. For some odd reason, I sort of liked it. "I mean, it means I get to put my hands on you."

"Oh really? Maybe I'll just have Quil show me. I heard he's better at it than you." I smirked, flirtatiously. I really don't know how I mustered up the courage to say that.

Paul inched closer to me when we reached the bar. He draped his arm across my lower back and squeezed my side. "Let me be the only one to touch you."

When I felt his thumb stroke my side, I pressed my lips together and instinctively snuggled up against him. He breathed in deeply.

"Hey! No fucking near the bar, there's a hotel down the road!" Someone yelled at us.

I looked up and saw an older man grinning down at us.

"Hey Ron, four beers." Paul ordered as he moved away from me. I sort of wished Ron didn't show up yet.

"Um...I don't drin-" Before I could say any more, Paul put his hand up.

"Baby steps, remember? Paul said, handing Ron the money

I sighed and walked back to the pool table. Quil and Jared were already fighting about who would have Paul on their team.

"Come on, I don't want Bella on my team! I bet she'll accidentally hit her head." Quil whined.

"Hey!" I defensively shouted, lightly smacking Quil with his beer bottle.

"Sorry Bella, looks like you're stuck with him." Jared shrugged, opening his beer bottle.

"Okay okay, I'll have Bella on my team. I don't mind having a newbie with me." Paul winked at me and I grinned. He could be really nice sometimes. "Plus, I could still kick your asses with her on my team."

Jared handed me a pool stick and Quil probably lined up the balls. Jared and Quil had let us go first. I bent over to aim when I felt Paul come up behind me.

"Here," He said, putting on hand on my hip and the other on the stick. "Loosen your grip." I did what he said to do. "Okay, pull back and hit it." He backed up and I did what he said. The cue ball broke the perfectly aligned balls and they separated in different directions.

My heart was racing, but it wasn't because of the game. It was because every time it was my turn, Paul helped me. When it was my turn, he knew what he was doing. And every time I looked up at him, he was smiling.

After fives games and few more beers later, we started to make our way to Jared's car. Jared had to get back to Kim soon anyway. He was missing her, but I think he just wanted to get fucked.

Quil was going to sit in the back with me but Paul demanded he sit in the front. Quil looked at him and then back at me.

"I need to sit in the back. I was specifically ordered my our Alpha to sit next to Bella." Quil stared at me.

Paul frowned. "Why in the hell would he do that? That's so specific."

Jared stared at us, confused. "Does he really think we would let something happen to her?"

I tried not to look at Paul when Jared said that. I don't know if it's the beer kicking in or something, but I felt overwhelmed by Jacob's protectiveness.

"He ordered you to sit with her, right?" Paul asked, irritably.

"...yes." Quil responded.

"Fine. Go." Paul sighed, but I grabbed his hand when he was about to switch seats.

"No, stop," I growled, and all three of them stared at me, bewildered. "I'm fucking tired of Jacob running my life. Can we not let him do that?"

They stared at me like I had lost my mind. I'm completely sane! Jacob's the one out of control. He can't keep running my life like this. It's ridiculous and he's not my boyfriend. I know he's worried, but he can't just do that. It's stupid.

"Are you gonna stay or not?" I asked impatiently. Quil sighed and stayed up front. I heard Paul and Jared snicker.

Paul sat with me and I draped myself across him, so that I was sitting on his lap. He held me in his arms while I lay my head against the window.

"What the fuck's up with you, Bella?" He asked, confused. What does he mean by that? He already knows I want to prove myself.

I smiled at him and didn't respond. Nothing's gotten into me, I'm just trying to figure myself out. I don't want anyone ruining that. Just being around Paul made me feel like that the old Bella's gone now and never coming back.

I know for a fact that since Quil couldn't follow the Alpha's orders, he was obliged to tell Jacob what happened. Jacob will not be happy. He's going to shit bricks if he finds out I was sitting on Paul's lap.

As Jared drove off, I began to feel drowsy. Perhaps the beer had gotten to me a little bit...

After a few minutes of utter silence, I stared outside and watched as the rain smack against the window. I looked at Paul and he was staring at me. I couldn't help but grin.

"Fuck baby steps."
