After cleaning up the blood from the nosebleed J.D got the teen settled into the Med-bay bed and kept watch as she slept, barely taking his eyes off her until he began to feel tired himself. Then he ended up falling asleep in the chair.
A scream suddenly woke him up and he quickly sat forward bleary eyed. Jaime was tossing and turning, battering at something invisible with her arm. What had she seen to have a nightmare this bad? J.D was out of his chair and soothing her as soon as she sprang awake, hazel eyes wide. "It's okay, you're going to be okay." He said while she gasped in fright, looking around at her surroundings, remembering where she was. Back on the TARDIS, the Doctor's TARDIS with Rose and John.
"Are you going to tell me what you were dreaming about?" He asked but she just shook her head, trying to gain her sense of awareness, and thankful that the dizziness, bad stomach and pins and needles like tingling in her fingers had stopped. "Are you sure?" John continued to worry, frowning. He could barely sense her so she must have raised her Psychic Shield. "Fair enough, that's okay...as long as you're...okay!"
The teen smiled faintly at his awkwardness and shuffled off the bed, obviously wanting to leave the Med-bay. Though she still looked tired. "Where are you going?" The Half-Time Lord asked, following her. "I've been in a Med-bay for three days." Jaime croaked. "I don't wanna stay in there any longer." "Three days?" John was surprised. "But it's only been eighteen hours since the Doctor was told to wait at Torchwood." Jaime grunted, not really listening and John noticed how distant she was. It worried him. "Hey, hold on!" He stopped in front of her and put his hands on her shoulders, noticing the way she stiffened a little. "Are you sure you're okay?" He asked, looking at her, concerned. "Yeah. I'm fine." Jaime replied, barely looking at him. "Are you sure? Are you really sure?" He worried. Instead of replying she hugged him instead. "Oh!" John hugged her back despite being somewhat surprised. "What's this about?" He asked. "I missed you!" Jaime croaked making John smile. "Ah! And I missed you too, a lot!"
They heard footsteps and then a surprise exclamation. "I was just coming to find you two," Rose said and the two looked at her. "The Doctor found a planet we all might like." Jaime sighed. She was barely several hours back on the TARDIS and the Doctor was already taking them to planets. She just wanted to distract herself. Following behind, Jaime entered the console room and by the looks of it the TARDIS had already landed. The Doctor was shrugging his coat on. "Right," he said when he spotted them. "Allons-y!" John picked up his coat and as a group they exited the TARDIS.
They stepped out onto a Boardwalk that was quite busy with what appeared to be holiday makers. Some were humanoids, others were aliens. Jaime stared as a six legged, two headed green alien wearing loose blue shorts walked by. He...or maybe it was a she...was rather large and jiggling quite a bit! There was a beach across the road and in the lightest of blue sky's it almost looked white there were three suns. A yellow one that looked really far away, a big red one that was giving off the most heat, and a purply-blue middle sized sun.
"Go on then, tell us where we are?" Rose asked the Doctor, taking off her blue jacket and tying it around her waist. It was far too hot to be wearing jackets. "It's the year 2159 in the 22nd Century and we're on the planet Cenax. Also known as The Holiday Planet. It's one of the many planets in the Olveron Cluster." The Doctor explained. "Why is it called Cenax?" Rose asked. "It sounds a bit odd." "It got its name from a traveller, a space explorer. He just appeared one day and the natives mistook him for a god." John spoke up. "They even have a museum about him." "Uh-huh! So when did it become a holiday planet?" Rose asked next. "And where are we?"
"About fifty years ago and we're probably in this planets equivalent of Hawaii." The Doctor replied and noticed Jaime's clothes suddenly change to a pair of Summer shorts and t-shirt. "Where'd you get Chameleon Clothes from?" He asked the teenager. "There aren't any in the Wardrobe because they went missing sometime around my Sixth incar..." He now realised why they went missing. "Oh! Why don't I remember seeing you then?" Jaime looked away with a guilty expression on her face. "I'm sorry!" She mumbled quietly. "What did you do?" The Doctor asked, sounding a bit scared and possibly even shocked. "Uhh, maybe we can sort this out later." John spoke up. "We came here to relax." Rose took the Doctor's hand and he sighed in exasperation. "Okay. Fine."
They walked along the Boardwalk looking totally out of place, Jaime following behind them. Everyone's emotions on this apparent holiday planet were all happy. Nobody was sad, stressed out, homicidal, suicidal, angry or even hostile. It felt so much different...wrong...to what she'd been feeling the last few weeks. It all felt too much and it felt like it was giving her a headache.
Jaime felt an irritating tickle below her nose and when she swiped at it she found that her nose was randomly bleeding again. And she didn't know why because she certainly hadn't been using any abilities. Pulling out a tissue she used it to cover her nose then fumbled with the painkillers and ended up dropping the bottle on the ground. John heard her swear which was unusual and when he looked around she had a bloody tissue covering her nose. The bottle rolled to his feet and he picked it up, but when he looked at it he realised these were the painkillers she'd stolen from her younger self. He gulped and looked up at the teenager who's eyes were wide.
"What happened?" He asked, confused. "Don't know!" She replied in a nasally way. "It just happened. "How could it 'just happen'? What was going on? "I've got a really bad headache." She mumbled and held out her hand. J.D gave her a painkiller and she took it. The bleeding soon stopped when the headache eased off. "Has this happened before?" John worried, giving her the bottle and she put it back into her shorts pocket. Jaime shook her head. "Well if it keeps happening you need to tell the Doctor...or me...okay?" She nodded and watched as the blood on the tissue disappeared. "Self cleaning tissues? They're not around until 6091" John said. "Did the mysterious ginger give you them?" "Her name is the Dynacracker." Jaime replied and took his hand. "Come on!" They ran to catch up with Rose and The Doctor.
As it turned out this part of the planet was called Hawaia...like how you say 'how are ya' and Jaime was reminded of that episode of the Simpsons where the Blue Haired Lawyer was calling his Secretary Uwa and it sounded like 'you are'. Now she was sitting on the beach staring out towards the emerald green sea and listening to the waves crashing against the greyish black sand. It was going on to late evening now and the red sun wasn't as hot anymore. She would have been enjoying the mostly quietness if it hadn't been for the dizziness that was affecting her...again. She didn't know why it was happening, nor did she know why her stomach felt so bad she felt like she was going to throw up. And not to mention the tingling that felt like pins and needles had returned as well. It felt very irritating and no matter how many times she rubbed at them the tingling wouldn't go away.
Earlier in the day they had visit the Hawaia branch of their apparent god's museum and it was Rose who made a comment on the statue that was outside the museum.
"Are you seriously telling me their so-called god wears jean shorts?" Rose all but mocked. "Jean shorts and t-shirt even!" "Rose, hush!" The Doctor put his hand over her mouth, his eyes wide. "Anyone caught disrespecting the god of Cenax gets a very long stretch in a prison colony." Rose shrugged him off. "Oh yeah? It's a bit harsh isn't it?" She questioned. "Well, not if your name is John. They get high praise, treated almost like a..." "God?" Rose finished for him and The Doctor nodded. They looked at J.D who was grinning like a loon.
Meanwhile Jaime was staring at the Statue, realising there was something familiar about him. Even though it wasn't very colourful she knew he had short buzz cut brown hair and blue eyes. In her universe she had only seen him twice before on TV and once in person in Swansea. "I know who this is!" Jaime said almost quietly. "In my universe." "Oh? Who might he be then?" John asked. "He's a wrestler," Jaime replied. "Or an actor but I think he's mostly a wrestler." She looked at the Doctors. "And he was a space explorer in this universe?" "Well, that's what they called him!" The Doctor said. "No-one knows his real background." A look of worry appeared on Jaime's face. "What if he fell through a crack in time or a rift and ended up here?" The Doctor was deep in thought. "It might be possible, but we'll probably never know. This planet has a lot of history and its not a good idea to mess with it." It was clearly a stern warning from the Time Lord telling her not to interfere in any more moments of history.
And as she continued to sit on the beach her mind still remained on Planet Cenax's so-called god. Was he from this universe or another universe? Was he from the past or the future? And what did he do before appearing on this planet? It got her curious and she considered opening a Portal but her Pyrokinesis wasn't as strong anymore. Although there was her Aerokinesis but she didn't think the Doctor would appreciate it if she tried to go back to find out how he got there in the first place.
An odd feeling suddenly came to her and a shiver ran down her body. It had gotten cold for some reason, chilly even which felt weird. And now she could hear singing and...was that snow? Where was snow coming from on a warm sunny day? Curious, Jaime looked around to find out what was going on, where that singing was coming from and... Her eyes widened and her heart skipped a beat. Stood several feet away from her was an Ood. It wasn't just any Ood. It was Ood Sigma. So it had been an Ood giving her an Odd feeling! She giggled at the joke and clambered to her feet expecting the dizziness to topple her over. Luckily she remained on her feet and she walked over to Ood Sigma. "Hello! What are you doing here?" Jaime asked the Ood.
Further up the beach at a Boardwalk bar sat The Doctor, Rose and John. They were mostly keeping an eye on the teenager but they were also staying in the shade and out of the sun. Rose and the Doctor couldn't help noticing how distant Jaime was being. Throughout the day she had barely spoken or she would trail behind them looking jumpy. "Has she said anything to you?" The Doctor asked J.D. "No." He shook his head. "I tried speaking to her after she had a nightmare but she was barely responsive. I could barely get a word out of her." The Doctor raised a brow. "She had a nightmare and you didn't think to tell me?" John huffed. "I didn't think it mattered but now I'm beginning to wonder." The Time Lord sighed. "It might be an adjustment thing. Or Post Traumatic Stress..." John looked shocked. "We don't know what she's seen unless she opens up and I think she's a long way from doing that."
Rose was getting an odd chilly feeling and she didn't know why because the suns were still out. When she looked at where Jaime was sitting on the beach she frowned. "Doctors," she interrupted their discussion. "Is that an Ood Jaime's talking to?" The Doctor looked...and stood up so fast with a gasp he knocked his chair over. John was up next, his eyes wide. Rose was up third. "What is it?" She asked them. "That's Ood Sigma." The Doctor said.
Back on the beach a shaken pale faced, as usual, Jaime watched as Ood Sigma faded from view. He'd had a message for all of them, but also for her. "Jaime!" Somebody called her name and then the Doctor was at her side. "What did he want?" He asked. The teen looked at him as he was joined by Rose and John. The Half-Time Lord couldn't help but notice the wet patch on her shorts. "What did he want?" The Doctor asked again, more urgent this time. "It's the end of time!" She replied in a small scared voice.
