They took the journey to the Oodsphere the long way round. The first detour they made was to an Interstitial Transposition Vehicle. Somehow the vehicle and its passengers ended up in a pan dimension. And if that wasn't enough they were being terrorised by Pan-Dimensional beings. They reminded Jaime too much of the Hydra except these were sort of electrical. And she got frightened so much she tried to freeze them but it didn't work, only made things worse than usual. Luckily the Doctor figured it all out and was able to get the vehicle back to the right dimension while dealing with the beings that seemed to know his real name.
The second diversion was too a pirate radio boat while the others were sleeping. Everybody died at the hands of the Hush, a thing that killed through noise. The Doctor was able to trap it in a tape and scuttled the boat to the bottom of the sea.
The third diversion was to an un-named Galaxy with several thousand uninhabited planets. After a discussion between Rose, John and the Doctor they decided to give the galaxy a name before moving on.
The fourth diversion led them to Worcester in 1139 where a small town were being terrorised by Krillitine. They looked different to their previous appearance and the time travellers would have been lynched if it hadn't been for Jaime initiating a Pulse Wave out of fright...and Emily...a girl out of her time who was hunting the Krillitine. The day was saved as usual.
The fifth diversion had them landing in the deserts of New Mexico in 1947. It soon turned out there was a Viperox invasion and they all had to do their best to deal with them. It wasn't easy when the Military kept getting involved. They also had to rescue two aliens that had crashed at Roswell. Rose thought they looked like the cutest 'classic aliens' she had ever seen...which made The Doctor pout.
As time passed on the Doctor, Rose and John noticed Jaime was getting more and more distant. And she would never talk about the nightmares she was having. Most of the time she would be found in the Machu Picchu garden petting and flying with Falcor the pet Red Maw. Then the random nosebleeds continued but she was getting good at hiding them. The pins and needles in her fingers were getting worse and they had moved to her hands as well as her feet...which was really quite annoying.
In the end they couldn't ignore the call of the Ood any longer, or Jaime's distanceness and travelled to the Oodssphere, the TARDIS materialising in the cold snow. The four, all wearing warm clothing exited the TARDIS to be met by Ood Sigma. "Oh! What's that singing?" Rose asked. "It's beautiful." "It's the Ood song of celebration and freedom." John told her.
"Ah! Now, sorry. There you are," the Doctor spoke to the Ood. "So where were we? We were summoned weren't we?" He nodded to the other three and mostly to Jaime who was staring at Ood Sigma with wide eyes. "An Ood in the sand, calling to us. Well, we didn't exactly come straight here. Had a bit of fun, you know. Travelled about, did this and that. Got into trouble. You know us. It was brilliant..." "Doctor!" Rose warned. "We saved the planet from the Viperox, named a galaxy Alexia..." Jaime heard this and stared at the Doctor in surprise, barely noticing that the dialogue was different. He had named the Galaxy Alexia instead of Alison. Alexia after her mum. Tears came to the teenager's eyes and she quickly wiped them away. John put his arm around her shoulders. "..fought the Krillitine...again. Anyway, what do you want?"
"You should not have delayed." Sigma said as Rose came forward and held the Doctor's hand. "The last time I was here you said her Song would be ending soon and I thought you meant Donna. But it wasn't. You actually meant Jaime didn't you?" The Ood appeared to look at the teen and John felt her shiver. "You will come with me." Sigma replied and the Doctor sighed. "Hold on, better lock the TARDIS." He said, took his key out and pointed it at the time machine where it automatically locked, the light on the top flashing. "See? Like a car. I locked it like a car. Like...it's funny..." John, Rose and Jaime stared at him in disbelief. Sigma was indifferent. "No? Little bit?" Rose shook her head. "Blimey, try to make an Ood laugh."
They followed Ood Sigma to where-ever he was leading them. "Where did you find time to make the TARDIS lock like a car?" John asked the Doctor, noticing Jaime was trailing behind again and sensing wariness from her. "Oh, I do a lot while you're all sleeping your lives away." The Doctor replied and Rose laughed. "Well that figures." She said. The Time Lord turned his attention back to the Ood. "So, how old are you now Ood Sigma? Ah." They could see the Ood city now and Rose was heard to gasp in awe. "That is magnificent!" John uttered. "Oh, come on," he said to the indifferent Ood. "That is splendid. You've achieved all this in how long?" "One hundred years." Ood Sigma replied.
The Doctor frowned. "Then we've got a problem. Because all of this is way too fast," the Doctor said. "Not just the city. I mean your ability to call us. Reaching all the way back to the 22nd Century. Something's accelerating your species way beyond normal." "Trouble?" Rose enquired. "It nearly always is!" John answered. "And the mind of the Ood is troubled." Sigma stated and the Doctor raised a brow. "Why? What's happened?" He asked. "Every night, Doctor, every night we have had bad dreams." Came the reply. Jaime just about shuddered as they entered the ice cave.
There was a group of Oods sitting in a circle and one of them appeared to be an Elder who was muttering away. It sounded all doom and gloom and John shivered as he listened to the words. Something was coming but it was apparently too late. "Sit with the Elder of the Ood and share the dreaming." Sigma invited. "So, right. Hello." The Doctor waved and all the other Ood chanted 'you will join' repeatedly. "What about me? Can I join?" Rose asked. "Yes. The Bad Wolf will join." The Elder spoke up and Rose sat beside the Doctor, holding his hand, than holding an Ood's hand. "We'll just stay on the sidelines then!" John mumbled and rolled his eyes. The Doctor and Rose suddenly gasped when an image of a laughing Master appeared in their heads. "Who was that?" Rose freaked.
Seconds later they heard Jaime cry out. "Jaime? What's wrong?" J.D asked, following her when she fell to her knees, eyes shut and hands on the sides of her head. "He's in my head!" She cried out. "What's wrong with Jaime?" The Doctor panicked, trying to pull away. "The Omni see's what we see." The Elder explained. "You could have warned her." Rose said. "Who is?" John asked. "What's going on?"
"He comes to us every night. I think all the peoples of the Universe dream of him now." The Elder explained. "Who? Who are you talking about?" A frustrated John asked. "The Master!" Jaime gasped. The Half-Time Lord looked at her, surprised. "That man is dead." Both John and the Doctor said. "There is yet more," the Elder continued. "Join us. Events are taking shape. So many years ago, and yet changing the now. There is a man..." Jaime whimpered when the laughing Master appeared in her head again. Rose gasped and The Doctor squeezed her hand in comfort. "...so scared." They saw an image of of Wilfred Mott looking so frightened.
"Wilfred! Is he alright?" The Doctor asked. "What about Donna is she safe?" J.D asked, his eyes wide. "You should not have delayed." The Elder admonished the time travellers. "For the lines of convergence are being drawn across the Earth. Even now the King is in his counting house." The next image they were given was of a black man and his daughter. They were being photographed. "I...we don't know who they are." The Doctor replied. "The Omni knows." The Elder said. "Jaime?" The teen sighed. "Naismith. They're the Naismith's." she said.
"And there is another," the Elder continued on. "The most lonely of all, lost and forgotten." They were given an image of a blonde woman in a prison. "Who's that?" Rose asked. "The Master's wife." The Doctor replied. "We see so much but understand little," Sigma spoke up. "The woman in the cage. Who is she?" "Lucy Saxon," Jaime said. "Poor little Lucy."
"She was...it wasn't her fault, she was... The Master, he's a Time Lord, like me. I can show you." The Ood, Rose and Jaime were shown the events on the Valiant. Rose closed her eyes and breathed in deep. All that had happened when she'd been stuck in another universe. And he had suffered on his own. "The Master took the name of Saxon," the Doctor told the Ood. "He married a human, a woman called Lucy. And he corrupted her. She stood at his side while he conquered the Earth." John felt Jaime shiver. "I reversed everything he'd done so it never even happened, but Lucy Saxon remembered. I held him in my arms. I burnt his body. The Master is dead." "You should have done done it off planet!" He heard Jaime growl with uncharacteristic bitterness that John looked at her with raised brows.
"And yet you did not see." The Elder spoke. "What's that?" The Doctor frowned. The Master was laughing in their heads again and then a woman was seen to pick up the Master's ring. The Time Lord gasped. "Part of him survived. We have to go." He tried to get up again but the Ood wouldn't let him. "Say again?" A panicked J.D asked. "A woman picked up the Master's ring." Jaime told him. "But something more is happening, Doctor." The Elder warned him. "The Master is part of a greater design, because a Shadow is falling over creation. Something vast is stirring in the dark. The Ood have gained this power to see through time, because time is bleeding. Shapes of things once lost are moving through the veil, and these events from years ago threaten to destroy this future, and the present, and the past."
"What do you mean?" Both John and the Doctor asked. "This is what we have seen, Doctor, Wolf, Omni, Halfling..." John huffed at what they called him. "...The darkness heralds only one thing." "The end of time itself." All the Ood said. With a last laugh from the Master, the Doctor was up in a shot and pulling Rose with him. John and Jaime followed them out. *Events that have happened are happening now.* The Elder Ood spoke in their minds.
"Doctor, slow down!" John shouted. He was way ahead of them. "I can't," the Doctor shouted back. "We got to stop it." "What's going on?" John asked. "Hold on!" Jaime grabbed his arm and Teleport Dashed closer to Rose and the Doctor. "Blimey!" J.D uttered, disorientated for the moment. Rose was holding the Doctor's hand so that made things easier. The teen reached out and took Rose's free hand where she Teleported and re-appeared inches from the TARDIS door.
While Jaime ran through the door causing the Cloister Bell to ring once, there was a loud thump as the Doctor, John and Rose all slammed against the door. Grunting in frustration Jaime opened the door to find they were lying on the snow, groaning. "What are you doing? We need to go, go, go!" The Doctor gained his feet first and helped Rose up. "Well, we can't all phase through walls." He replied sarcastically and ran into the TARDIS. Rose and Jaime helped up J.D and pulled him into the TARDIS. The door slammed shut and the TARDIS dematerialised.
"Can you believe what he called me?" John spoke in disbelief as the TARDIS hurtled through the Vortex, the Doctor at the controls. "They called me a halfling! I find that highly offensive!" Rose smiled grimly. "Maybe you haven't gained a reputation yet for them to call you something else." She replied. "Yeah, but still...halfling? I'm much more than that." "Will you stop blabbering on!" The Doctor bit. "We've got bigger problems right now." John winced. Of course, the Master. He was apparently alive again and causing trouble. He looked at Jaime who was stood against the railing, a far away expression on her face. More so than usual. He managed to get her attention.
"Since when have you been able to phase so easily?" He asked her but she looked away sheepishly. "I learned...a lot!" She quietly replied. Then she shivered and looked up. "I'm sorry," she called. "I didn't mean to do it again, it just happened." "Do what again?" A confused Rose asked. "Phasing through the door," the Doctor replied. "The old girl didn't like it."
The TARDIS landed and the Doctor was first out of the door, followed by Jaime. They had landed outside Broadfell Women's Prison but it was already a ruined mess. "Too late," the Doctor muttered as he was joined by Rose and J.D. "We came too late!" "Blimey, what happened?" John asked, kicking at the Broadfell Prison sign. "He's escaped. They brought him back and he escaped." The Doctor said. "It was always going to be too late," Jaime mumbled. "Fixed point! It was meant to happen!" She shuddered and folded her arms.
"What exactly is going on?" John asked so the Doctor showed him what he was shown by the Ood. "That...that is really bad!" The Half-Time Lord finally said, his eyes wide. "So what do we do now?" Rose asked them. She had a feeling the Master, whoever he was to the Doctor, wasn't a nice fella.
Meanwhile Jaime was beginning to get a bad feeling and she knew it was only going to get worse. "We look for him?" She suggested even though The Master scared her. "No. None of you are going near him. The Master is dangerous." The Doctor warned her. "You're an Omni-Psychic and...who knows what he would do if he caught you." Jaime shivered at this. "Doctor, you're scaring her." Rose said, putting her arm around Jaime's shoulders. She felt the teen stiffen at her contact and frowned.
The Doctor wordlessly turned to J.D. "Take them back to the TARDIS, I'm going to look for him and..." "But I know where hell be!" Jaime protested. Both the Doctor and John looked at her warily. "Where do you think he might be?" The Half-Time Lord enquired. Jaime took his hand. "He'll be in the wasteland where the Homeless are. He's eating them!" She told the Doctor. "What do you mean?" Rose asked. "How is he eating people?" "His resurrection might have gone wrong." The Doctor explained and looked at Jaime. "Do you know where this wasteland is?" "Uhh..." She closed her eyes and sent him a few images of the wasteland. It hurt to do that when it never did before.
"Right, thank you." He turned to John. "You know what he's like, keep them out of harms way!" "No, Doctor," a panicked Rose grabbed the Doctor's arm. "You can't go on your own!" Now that Jaime saw her chance she took hold of Rose's arm and before anyone realised it they were Teleported.
They groaned as they roughly tumbled to the ground. "Blimey!" When did Teleporting get this rough?" John complained. When the Doctor looked around at his surroundings he realised he was at the derelict site, then he scowled at Jaime who was grimacing, appearing to be in pain. "Do you not realise how dangerous this is?" He admonished the girl but she wasn't listening. "Right. Rose you're with me." The Doctor helped her to her feet. "John, you stay with Jaime and whatever you do, don't approach the Master." "Yes Sir!" J.D gave the Doctor a small salute which was ignored and watched as they ran off in a different direction. He sighed and helped Jaime to her feet. "Are you okay?" He asked. She had barely said a word and she just nodded her head. "Right then, this way." He said and they walked off in a different way in search of the Master.
It took less than an hour for the Doctor and Rose to find the Master. Well, it was the Master who sniffed him out first. When Rose asked the Doctor about the sniffing he explained that Time Lords could be tracked by smell as well as by the mind. When they heard banging they ran to where-ever it was coming from.
As for Jaime and John they were rather unlucky to meet the Silver Cloak. It was Wilf who spotted them first and he mistook John for the Doctor. Jaime groaned when she spotted them. Hearing this he looked at the teenager with concern. "Are you okay?" He worried but before she could reply he heard someone call for the Doctor. His attention turned to a group of old people headed by Wilfred Mott. "Doctor, I'm so glad to see you!" Wilf said, a big grin on his face until he noticed something looked different about him. "When did you start wearing jeans?" He asked as Jaime moved out of the way to avoid all the old people.
J.D shook his head. "No, I'm not the Doctor..." Wilf gasped in realisation. "You must be that Metacrisis thing!" Jaime winced when she heard this and J.D smiled grimly. "It's John, actually. Doctor John David Smith." "Oh, so you're still the Doctor, just with a name?" "Oh, yes! How's Donna?" John asked. The sadness washing off the old man told Jaime that everything wasn't alright with Donna.
Wilf was about to reply when Minnie the Menace butted in. "Oh, Wilf. You never said he was a looker!" She said which made John go a bit red faced. "He's gorgeous. Take a photo." "Uhh, wait. Minnie, this isn't the Doctor." Wilf told her. "This is his..." He was struggling on what to call him. "Twin!" J.D suggested helpfully. "His twin brother." He told Minnie and Jaime felt the OAP's excitement wash off her. "Twins! Even better. Where is he then?" J.D sensed that the Doctor wasn't too far away. "This way." He ran off to the right and the Silver Cloak followed with Jaime trailing behind, keeping vigilance.
The Doctor jumped onto a pile of girders expecting to see the Master but he had disappeared. Rose noticed J.D had been joined by a group of old people. "Where did you get that lot from?" She asked until she noticed Wilf in the group. "Wilfred! What are you doing here?" "Hello Rose." He said and looked at the Doctor when the Time Lord joined them. He was looking very confused. "Oh, my gosh, Doctor. You're a sight for sore eyes." Wilf said. "Oohh, he's even more handsome!" Minnie stated. Then she, Winston and Oliver all started chatting to each other.
"Did you find him?" John asked the Doctor. "Yeah, but he got away." The Time Lord turned to Wilfred. "Wilf?" "Yeah?" "Have you told them who we are? You promised me." Wilf looked sheepish. "No, I just said you were a Doctor and you had a look-a-like, that's all. And might I say, Sirs, Ma'am, it is an honour to meet you all again." Wilf saluted making the Doctor grimace, Rose chuckle and John smile. "Thank you, Wilfred." He complimented.
"Here, take a photo for me." Minnie said, handing Oliver the camera and pulling J.D into shot so that she was between the two Doctors. Rose stepped out of shot with a smirk on her face. "I'm Minnie," the OAP introduced. "Minnie the Menace. It's a long time since I had a photo taken with two handsome men. Especially twins." John and the Doctor glanced at each other. "Just get off him," Wilf protested. "Leave him alone will you." 'Hush, you old misery." Minnie admonished. "Come on, Doctor. Give us a smile, like your brother." The Doctor smiled nervously. "That's it." "Hold on, did it flash?" Oliver asked. "No. There's a blue light." Minnie told her friend. "Try again."
Jaime took the camera off Oliver. "I'll do it, you go stand with your fiends." "Thank you." Oliver smiled at the the pale faced girl and joined the rest of the Silver Cloak. "We're really kind of busy, you know." The Doctor protested. "Oh, it won't take long, keep smiling." As Jaime took the photo both John and the Doctor were given identical bum pats. Both men yelped in surprise and Rose laughed at the Time Lord's predicament. "Is that your hand, Minnie?" The Doctor squeaked. "Good boy." The predatorial OAP grinned and Rose was now guffawing.
Wilf and the rest of the Silver Cloak offered to give the four a lift into town. When they were dropped off Wilf led them to a Cafe that didn't look particularly busy. "What's so special about this place?" Rose asked. "We passed fifteen Cafes on the way here." Jaime scowled angrily. She knew the reason why and it wasn't very nice. John sensed it and frowned at the teen. They all sat at a table near the window, the Doctor and Rose sat on one side with Wilf sat on the other side. Jaime sat close to Rose, rubbing her hands in a bid to rid them of the pins and needles. It was the same with her feet and pretty soon she was going to feel sick and dizzy. John was busy getting some drinks.
"Oh, we had some good times, didn't we though?" Wilf asked nervously. "I mean all those ATMOS things, and those planets in the sky," he looked at Rose. "And me with that paint gun." The blonde smiled at this. "I keep seeing things, Doctor. This face at night."
The Doctor stared at Wilf. "Who are you?" He asked the old man. "Doctor! He's trying to tell you something." Rose admonished. "I'm Wilfred Mott," he replied, confused. "No. People have waited hundreds of years to find me and then you manage it in a few hours." "Well, I'm just lucky I suppose." He replied.
"What did I miss?" John asked, a tray of drinks in his hands. Rose got her Latte, the Doctor didn't want anything, Jaime got a diet cola and John got himself a tea. "Wilfred's trying to tell us something but the Doctor thinks he might be an alien or something." Rose told the Half-Time Lord. "Oh, none-sense," John replied and sat in a chair next to Jaime. "He's Wilfred Mott, Donna's grandfather." But the Doctor just rolled his eyes, annoyed by the interruption. "No, we keep on meeting, Wilf. Over and over again like something's still connecting us." "What's this about?" A confused John asked. Wilfred shrugged and said; "What's so important about me?"
Jaime sat forward. "Exactly, why you?" She found herself uttering a part of the Doctor's line for some weird reason. "I'm going to die." She felt the sadness wash off J.D, Rose and the Doctor as they looked at her. "Yeah, you said before." Wilf replied. "You've got a brain haemorrhage and you bled all over the place when you did something with the laptop. That old thing hasn't been the same since you messed with it." Jaime smiled sheepishly, face going red. "It's gotten a lot worse since we last met. I'm an Omni-Psychic but none of those abilities are natural...and they're killing me." John put his arm around her shoulders but she stiffened. "How do you mean? 'Not natural'?" Wilf questioned. "They were given to me. Probably at the age of three. And the only person who knows why it happened is in another Universe." Tears came to her eyes and she wiped them away. Rose rubbed her back in comfort.
"We were told a prophecy," the Doctor spoke up, remembering what Carmen said to them all. "He will knock four times." Jaime shivered, also remembering this and looked at Wilf sadly, tears continuing to fall. "Four times and then..." "We're not really sure what that means though." John spoke up. "It could mean anything." "Does that have something to do with me?" Wilf enquired. "No, probably not." Rose said to him and none of them could understand why Jaime let out a strangled sob.
The Doctor heard John gasp and then noticed Wilf looking out of the window. He followed their gaze and spotted...Donna! "I'm sorry," Wilf apologised. "But I had to. Look, can't you make her better?" "Stop it." The Doctor warned. "No, but you're clever," Wilf continued. "Can't you bring her memory back? Look, just go to her now, go on, just run across the street. Go and say hello."
"It doesn't work like that, Wilfred." John told him, tears in his eyes as well. "If she ever remembers us, any of us, her mind will burn, and she will die." "We could always take her to the Time Lords," Jaime muttered, remembering the other Donna. "But there are no other Time Lords!" They all found this comment odd but they were soon distracted by Donna threatening the Traffic Warden. They chuckled at this. "She's not changed." John said with a smile. "Nah. Oh, there he is." They watched as Donna was joined by a man. Jaime recognised him from The Bill. "Shaun Temple. They're engaged." Wilf told them. "Getting married in the Spring." "Another wedding." The Doctor uttered. "Yeah."
"Hold on," John spoke up. "She's not going to be called Noble-Temple? That sounds like a tourist trap." Wilf chuckled. "No, it's Temple-Noble." "Right. Is she happy? Is he nice?" Rose thought J.D sounded like a protective big brother. Well, they did have a part of each other in them. "Yeah. He's sweet enough." Wilf explained how the couple were getting on, the usual domestic daily struggle. "...And then sometimes I see this look on her face, like she's so sad, but can't remember why." "She's got him." The Doctor said. "She's making do." Wilf replied. "Aren't we all?"
Wilf was about to ask something else but he jumped when a glass shattered on the floor. Jaime grunted and rubbed her hands in irritation. Her fingers had twitched causing the glass to fall from her hands. "Jaime?" John worried. "I'm fine." She mumbled and stood up only to stumble and groan. The dizziness was pretty bad this time and the bad stomach was worse. "Don't worry, I've got you." John was at her side, followed by Rose and the Doctor. They could see that her nose was bleeding. "What is it?" Wilf asked when the Doctor scanned her with his Sonic. "Sorry to cut this short, Wilfred. But we need to get her back to the TARDIS."
After waiting for Donna and Shaun to leave, the four time travellers quickly headed back to the TARDIS. And now here they were back in the Med-bay, much to Jaime's annoyance. She'd managed to stop the nose bleed but her hands were still tingling and she was still dizzy. And she felt sick.
"How many times have you had a bleed like this?" The Doctor questioned. "And how long have you been feeling dizzy?" "For awhile now." Jaime replied as she rubbed at her hands. "That isn't much of an answer." He told her and she sighed at this. "Several times." She mumbled, not looking up at him or J.D or Rose. "What? You've had nose bleeds 'several times' and you didn't think to tell me?" John shook his head. "Jaime, I told you that if you were to get any more nose bleeds you were to tell one of us!" He said and the Doctor looked at him with his brows raised. "You knew?" John suddenly looked sheepish. "When was the first time it happened?" The Time Lord asked them. "Back on that Holiday Planet we went to." John answered.
"In the Med-bay." Jaime answered and it was J.D's turn to look surprised. "This Med-bay?" The Doctor asked and Jaime shook her head. "The other Med-bay." "What other Med-bay?" There was confusion in the room. "Dyna's Med-bay." Even more confusion. "I'm getting a bit lost here," Rose spoke up. "Who's Dyna?" "She used to look like Delta but she regenerated and now she's called The Dynacracker...and she's got a cat and she...she said I have zooythingy..." "Zooythingy?" Rose and the Doctor said. "You told me the nose bleed you had on Cenax was the first one." John said to the teenager. The Doctor rolled his eyes and Rose smiled a little.
Jaime grimaced and felt a little guilty for lying to him. "I can talk to animals, I'm not turning into a Weevil." "Oh!" The Doctor realised. "Zoolingualism. Well, that was always a possibility." "And that is part of being and Omni-Psychic?" Rose asked and Jaime shook her head until she groaned and almost fell off the bed. Luckily John was at her side. "No." The Doctor answered for the teenager. "Zoolingualism is a natural ability and sometimes it comes from a parent." Rose nodded in understanding.
The Doctor turned back to Jaime. "What about the dizziness?" He asked next. "Same time," Jaime mumbled. "But it comes and goes." Rose noticed the odd way the teenager kept rubbing her hands. "What's wrong with your hands?" Rose asked, taking hold of the right one. "I don't know!" Jaime cried out. "I keep getting this tingling feeling," John and the Doctor exchanged a glance. "Like pins and needles. It just keeps coming back and I don't know why!" The Doctor stared, frozen to the spot. "Tell me, when this dizziness comes on does it usually happen outside!" "Yeah," she mumbled. "It makes me have a bad stomach and then I feel really sick." J.D sighed, shaking his head while the Doctor pulled out his Sonic and scanned her again. He checked the results and tried to remain calm. The pale faced teenager was looking at him curiously. Now would be a good time to raise his barriers and he did so, noticing Jaime frown. He just hoped that John would keep his feelings to himself.
The Time Lord took a quick step back. "There's nothing much I can do at this point. The best thing to do would be to stay here in the Med-bay until the feelings pass." And with that sad he left the Med-bay, J.D following him seconds later. Rose was confused. "Hold on, just stay there." She told the teen and followed the Doctors out of the room. Jaime sighed and sat back on the bed.
"What are we gonna do, Doctor?" John enquired as they entered the console room. "Is there any way to stop it?" The Doctor gave him an incredulous expression. "You're basically me. You know fine well it can't be stopped." "But she's human!" John argued. The Doctor sighed. "I know that." Rose walked into the console room. "Doctor, what's going on?" She asked but he was muttering to himself. "I don't know why I didn't notice it before!" He muttered. "Notice what? What are you talking about?" She asked and the Doctor turned to her. "Rose, remember what Carmen said to her." She furrowed her brow, thinking. "Uhh, something about her abilities not being natural and she was going to die in a big ball of flame." The Doctor shook his head. "What Carmen saw was something she didn't understand and merely put down as fire. It wasn't fire she was seeing." Rose still didn't understand.
"The dizziness she's experiencing isn't just dizziness," John spoke up. "She's feeling the turn of the planet." She remembered her first Doctor, the big eared Doctor telling her how fast the Earth turned, then she gasped, her eyes widening. "Are you telling me she's going to... But she's human. How is that even possible?" Rose asked. "It shouldn't." The Doctor growled.
"The Timeless Woman in the basement of the Six." J.D muttered, a dark look on his face. "What does that mean?" She asked. "It means that the MI6 in Jaime's universe had a Time Lord in their basement." The Doctor answered and looked at Rose and J.D. "And is probably dead by now." It was grim thinking but that's what usually happened. Like Roswell. His thoughts turned to Jaime. "From now on she stays in the TARDIS at all times. The process is dodgy at the best of times. Who knows what'll happen when it's a human." J.D nodded in confirmation, the dark expression still on his face.
The Doctor picked up his coat and shrugged it on. "Where are you going?" A wide-eyed Rose asked. "I'm going to look for the Master." He stated. "Then I'm coming with you!" She said. "No," he shook his head. "You're staying here. You saw how unstable he was earlier." John snorted. "He's always been unstable." "But this time it's not just mental. It's physical. His resurrection went wrong and he's burning up his own life force." John grimaced. "Stay here," the Doctor told Rose. "Look after Jaime." Before she could even reply he was out of the door.
Rose was beginning to worry. It had been several hours since the Doctor had gone out to look for the Master and he'd not yet come back. She hoped he hadn't been hurt as she paced around the console room. What if the Master had hurt him? She stopped, eyes wide. She didn't know much about the Master but from what she saw he was clearly psychotic. Making a decision she walked over to the door in a bid to leave the TARDIS.
"Where are you going?" A voice asked and Rose looked back to see that Jaime had entered the console room. When she'd last checked in on Jaime she was sleeping but tossing and turning. And she didn't know where J.D was hiding. "Hey? How're you doing?" The blonde asked, trying to change the subject.
"I'm okay." She was too. The dizziness had eased off as well as the tingling. "You're worried about the Doctor. He's like a cat, he'll come home when he's ready." She said, then frowned at what she said. Rose snorted. "That's funny. The Doctor doesn't even like cats." She said. "Was this an episode in your universe?" The blonde suddenly asked her. "You knew where the Master would be and you knew who that man and his daughter were." Jaime didn't say anything and that was enough for Rose. She approached the teen. "Is the Doctor okay?" She asked. "Has he been hurt?" Jaime's thoughts turned to Naismith's men kidnapping the Master and one of them bashing the Doctor on the back of the head. He was currently lying unconscious on a rock pile in the wasteland.
"Right, that's it." Rose took her hands after Jaime didn't say anything again. "We are Teleporting back to that site and we're going to look for the Doctor." But Jaime shook her head. "He'll be okay," she said. "It's nothing serious." However, the way things were going she expected the Doctor to have been taken as well making things all the more harder. "Nothing serious? Now you've really got me worried. C'mon, teleport." Sighing, Jaime was about to do so when another voice spoke up.
"What are you two up to?" John asked as he walked into the console room. Rose looked at him. "The Doctor's been gone hours. I think he might be in trouble." "You're probably right. Something doesn't feel right." J.D replied and Rose let go of Jaime's hands. "I sensed something earlier and I haven't been able to call him, Telepathically or phone wise." He walked over to the console and set the co-ordinates for the wasteland. Smiling grimly Rose kept forgetting she could Telepath now.
Co-ordinates set he flipped the lever and the TARDIS began its journey. Jaime winced at the slight pressure in her mind as she held onto something even thought it was a short journey. When the TARDIS landed she was about to follow Rose and John out until he told her to wait. That confused her somewhat until she just shrugged and sat on the jumpseat, mind going into a world of its own.
A couple of minutes later they came back with a clearly knocked out Doctor and Jaime followed them to the Med-bay. "What did the Master do to him?" Rose worried as she ran her hand through his hair when he was lying on the bed. John was looking at the monitor. "As far as I can see all he has is a bump on the back of his head." He said. "It wasn't the Master. It was one of Naismith's men." Jaime replied to Rose. "He's got his own army and kidnapped the Master."
John raised his brows at the teen. "This Naismith fella, he must be quite powerful." But Jaime shook her head. "He likes to think he is but he isn't. He's stupid and he's dangerous." "Hmm, do you know where this Naismith lives?" He asked and Jaime shook her head. In the episode it wasn't really specified where the Naismith mansion was. Just that it was really huge.
"What about that?" Rose pointed to the burnt patch on the front of the Doctor's shirt. "Yeah, what is that?" John enquired. "When we saw him he was crackling with energy," Rose told him. "And then he flew away." John looked surprised. "Crackling?" He asked. "Electrokinesis." Jaime spoke up. "Sounds bad. No wonder he's eating people." The Half-Time Lord stated.
"Who is the Master?" Rose asked. "To the Doctor...to you?" J.D appeared grim and looked down. "He's a friend...an old friend." He replied. "Only after looking at the Untempered Schism, a hole in the fabric of reality, he turned a bit psychotic. We've been at it for Century's fighting each other." "And even though he was a right bastard to the Doctor he still wanted him to regenerate after he'd been shot?" Rose questioned and John nodded faintly. "And what about the Toclafane? What are they?" Now he grimaced and looked away. "They were just a story, to scare young Galiifreyans..." "Like the bogeyman?" She enquired. "Yes. Except he made them real. They were humans, from the future." This confused Rose. "Wouldn't that cause a Paradox?" "That's why he turned the TARDIS into a Paradox Machine. They thought they were escaping the end of the Universe. But Utopia wasn't any better. And that's hard to get over to be honest."
Rose didn't like the sound of that, then she noticed Jaime staring, her eyes wide. "Are you okay?" She asked the teenager. John looked around, sensing her fear. "Jaime?" He questioned. She was unresponsive but she was breathing quickly, almost hyperventilating. "Jaime?" John went to her. "Jaime!" "Cold, so cold!" She mumbled, eyes wide. "What do you mean? It's warm in here." "They're all so cold. It's so cold!" He frowned. "What is?" He asked, worrying about her. The teen was beginning to shiver, frightened. "Utopia." She gasped. "Nothing but cold." John's eyes widened, realising what she was saying. "What? How'd you end up on Utopia?" He practically shouted and put his hands on her shoulders.
The reaction was immediate, she began to scream and batter at him, only seeing the Toclafane and not John. "J.D, what is it?" Rose asked. "She's having a flashback." He replied. "Some sort of post traumatic stress." "Go away, go away..." She screamed. "Get off me." She battered at the Half-Time Lord. "What do you need to do?" Rose asked. "I just need her to calm down," came the reply. "Jaime, you've got to calm down," he urged. "Come back to my voice, come on...you can do it..." He continued and she soon came back, snapping out of the flashback. "John?" The teen croaked before bursting into tears and sliding to the floor. She was joined by J.D and Rose who both hugged her for comfort.
"How the hell did you manage to end up on Utopia?" He asked the crying girl. "Probably by Fire Portal." Rose answered. He grunted. "Even so, Utopia is probably the worst place somebody could go to." They heard a mumble from Jaime. "Sorry, what was that?" "The year that never was!" She cried and John gasped in understanding. All those nightmares she had, hitting out at nothing. She'd been attacked by the Toclafane. "Oh no, Jaime!" He uttered and hugged her closer while an emotional Rose rubbed her back in comfort.
After awhile the Doctor woke up with a groan. Rose was immediately at his side. "Doctor! How are you feeling?" She asked, running her hand through his hair. "Rose?" He questioned. The Time Lord expected to wake up in the wasteland after being knocked out. He didn't expect to wake up in the TARDIS. "Jaime told us where you'd be." He smirked a little until he realised why he was lying in a bed in his own Med-bay. "The Master!" He uttered, quickly sitting up and ignoring the ache in the back of his head. "Relax," he heard John utter. "We know what happened to him too."
"Did you have some sort of fight with him?" Rose asked, nodding at the burnt patch on his shirt. "No, we just talked. The drums in his head. They're real. They're actually real." "Oh, so he's not just going mad then." J.D queried. "No. And now he's in danger." "That Naismith bloke has him." Rose told the Time Lord and he frowned at her. "How do you know that?" "Because Jaime knew." She answered.
The Doctor noticed the teen was lying on the next bed, curled up and whimpering in her sleep. "Bad night?" He asked. "Pretty much." John replied, doing his best to comfort the teenager. "Does she know where Naismith lives?" The Doctor then asked and Rose shook her head, looking at Jaime. "She doesn't." She looked back at the Doctor. "Doctor, she's been to Utopia." The Doctor breathed in deep, a sad look appearing on his face. Utopia was at the end of the Universe and wouldn't have been hospitable. For her to end up there must have been horrific. "Like I said before. Opening a Portal isn't the best idea when it could lead you anywhere."
"Does that include the Year That Never Was?" Rose asked next and his hearts skipped a beat. "What?" "She Portaled into The Year That Never Was." John spoke up. "And it's possible she was attacked by the Toclafane." This time The Doctor's expression turned dark. "Something like that should be impossible to do." Rose agreed with him. "I've made a lot of jumps with the Dimension Cannon and I've never managed to find myself in a non-existent year." "Yeah, lucky!" J.D scowled.
Sensing another possible argument between the two, the Doctor quickly distracted them. "Well, I think I might know one man that can help us!" He said and got up off the bed. "You might want to change first." Rose nodded to his shirt. "Ah!"
After a quick shirt change the Doctor took the TARDIS to a certain street in Chiswick. Rose understood what he meant now. She recognised this street from the time she and Jaime met Wilf and his daughter during the Dalek invasion. "Doctor, why do you think Wilf can help?" She asked. "I don't know, just a feeling." He said as he picked up a small stone and hurled it accurately at a window. They saw Wilf appear at it seconds later, then he disappeared. Less than a minute later he came running out of the house looking a bit panicky. "I lost him, I was unconscious..." The Doctor explained to the old man. "Yeah, he decided to look for the Master alone and got into a bit of trouble." "Rose, please." The Doctor groaned and looked back at Wilf. "He's been taken by someone called Naismith. I can smell him but he's too far away."
"Listen, you can't park that there." A worried Wilf said, pointing at the TARDIS. "What if Donna see's it?" Rose grimaced but the Doctor ignored the concern. "You're the only one, Wilf." He said. "The only connection I can think of. You're involved. If I could work out how. Tell me, have you seen anything? I don't know. Anything strange, anything odd." Wilf shrugged until he realised something. "Hold on, what was that name you mentioned?" He asked. "Naismith." Rose answered. "What? What is it? Tell me." The Time Lord demanded. "Well, Donna was a bit strange. She had a funny little moment, this morning, all because of that book." "What book?" "Hold on!"
They followed Wilf to the back of the house where they stayed mostly out of sight. Wilf came back with the book. "His name is Joshua Naismith." He said, showing the book to the Doctor but Rose took it from him. "Fighting the future? Sounds like a right piece of work." She said. "That's the man," the Doctor spoke up. "We were shown him by the Ood." Wilf frowned, confused. "By the what!" "By the Ood." "What's the Ood?" "Amazing creatures," Rose told him. "We first saw them on Krop Tor and..." "Rose, maybe another time." The Doctor interrupted. "But it's all part of the convergence. Maybe? It may be touching Donna's subconscious. Oh, she's still fighting for us, even now. The DoctorDonna." Both Rose and the Doctor were grinning until they heard Sylvia Noble inside.
"Dad? What are you up to?" She called and walked out into the garden, spotting Rose and the Doctor. "You two. But... Get out of here." She told the two time travellers. "Merry Christmas, Mrs Noble." Rose spoke up. "Merry Christmas," Sylvia replied but then shook her head. "But she can't see you, either of you. What if she remembers?" They heard Donna speaking from inside. "Go!" Sylvia urged.
"We're going." The Doctor took Rose by the hand and made their exit. "Yeah, me too." Wilf said and quickly followed the Doctor and Rose back to the TARDIS, ignoring the shouting from his daughter. "No, you can't come with us." The Doctor told him. "You're not leaving me with her." Wilf panicked. Rose looked back at a still shouting Sylvia and it reminded her so much of her own mother it ached. "He's got a point, Doctor." She said. "Fair enough." The Time Lord said and they all entered the TARDIS. The Doctor quickly flipped a lever taking the TARDIS into the Vortex, while Rose was looking at Wilf, waiting for a reaction.
"Naismith. If I can track him down..." The Doctor halted when he noticed Wilf's look of wonder. "Ah. Right. Yes. Bigger on the inside." He grinned. "Do you like it?" Wilf was still looking around. "I thought it'd be cleaner." He said which made Rose laugh and the Doctor to huff. "Cleaner? I could take you home right now." He admonished. Wilf shook his head. "Listen, Doctor, if this is a time machine, that man you were chasing, why can't you just pop back to yesterday and catch him?" Though the Doctor disagreed and before he could reply, Rose jumped in. "I think I've got this one. We can't cross our own Timeline. If that happens tons of Universe ending Paradoxes happens. Understood?" Though the explanation was simple Wilf still looked confused. "Only a bit." He said and Rose smiled. "Welcome aboard." The Doctor told him and Wilf thanked him.
It didn't take long for the TARDIS to materialise into some stables and Rose was about to follow the Doctor until he stopped her. "No, you stay here with John and Jaime..." "Doctor, I'm not leaving you alone with that Psychopath." She said and he growled. "Rose, the Master is not the type of man you want to cross." "I don't care, I just want you safe." She said and the Doctor sighed as he watched her walk out of the door. "Young love, eh!" Wilf said making the Time Lord blush.
They exited the TARDIS and Rose heard Wilf gasp. "We've moved." He said. "We've really moved!" "Yes, you have. Amazing isn't it." Rose said with a grin. The Doctor wondered if he should tell Wilf to stay behind but he was probably just as stubborn as Rose. He smiled and took his key out, pointing it at the TARDIS and making it disappear. "What did you do?" Rose asked. "Just a second out of sync," the Time Lord explained. "Don't want the Master finding the TARDIS. That's the last thing we need."
Everyone was suddenly looking the same, same tousled dirty blonde hair, same brown eyes and same psychopathic grin. And it was scary, very scary because they were all stood around her, staring. A wide-eyed Jaime looked around, trying to find a place to run but everywhere was blocked. "Why didn't you change?" One of them asked as they approached her. "You should have become me!" Backing away only led her to get caught by one of them. "The Master!" With that Psychotic grin of his he raised his hands towards her head as she struggled...
"NOOOO!" She screamed loudly, springing up from her sleep with wide eyes and panicky breathing. "It's okay," John was at her side and he put his arm around her shoulders. "I'm here. Was it another one of those Toclafane nightmares?" She muttered something as she looked around the Med-Bay. Something wasn't right, they were in danger. "Sorry? What did you say?" John asked.
Jaime shrugged the Half-Time Lord off her and looked around at him. Something was wrong. "Where's the Doctor? And Rose?" "They went out," John replied. "And took Wilf with them." Her eyes widened. "They're in danger!" She cried. "The Master has duplicates." He felt a bit confused. "What do you mean?" "Naismith. He has this Immortality gate he was going to use on his daughter but the Master tricked him and jumped into it...and now he's turned every human into him!" Now J.D's eyes were wide. The Immortality gate was bad but the thing with the Master was worse. "Where the hell did he get something like that from!" He exclaimed. "Never mind that, we have to rescue them." She jumped off the bed, a panicked expression on her face. "We need to go!"
"Hold on," he said. "Wait a minute." She wasn't supposed to leave the TARDIS for the moment but he guessed this was a life or death situation considering he could sense she was panicking. "We don't have time!" She raised her voice. "Okay, calm down. I'll call the Doctor first." Jaime was practically jumping from foot to foot, clearly agitated but also trying to get rid of the pins and needles that were irritating her. "He says he's a bit tied up at the moment." John told her and she gasped. "That's 'cos he literally is tied up!" She said. "The Master tied him up. He's got Wilf and Rose." His heart skipped a beat. "Oh shit, we have to go." He ran out of the Med-bay.
"Wait!" She Teleported out of the room and re-appeared several feet in front of him, causing the Half-Time Lord to come screeching to a halt. "We can't go out of the door." John raised his brows. "Oh! Why not?" "The Doctor put it a second out of sync because he didn't want the Master to find it." "Good thinking. So what now?" He asked and Jaime smirked, taking his hand. "We Teleport." She said and they disappeared out of the corridor.
They re-appeared in a room and Jaime winced slightly, almost toppling over at the amount of malevolence in the world. It felt bad and it hurt her head, causing her eyes to water. John held her steady, looking very worried. Ahead of them was The Master talking to the Doctor who appeared to be in a Hannibal restraint chair. Behind him sat Wilf and Rose, also tied up in chairs. Rose was gagged. Apparently gotten very vocal it annoyed the Master so much. He got so excited that blue energy coursed though his body and he practically collapsed to the floor.
"The Gate wasn't enough. You're still dying." The Doctor told him but the Master just growled. "This body was born out of death," he said and stood up painfully. "All it can do is die..." "Oh, I know the feeling!" Spoke a North-East, Yorkshire, Welsh mixtured voice and the Doctor's eyes widened.
When he heard the intruder The Master looked behind the Doctor to see a rather familiar looking girl with brown hair and hazel eyes. He stared angrily. "You!" He uttered until he noticed the man standing next to her. The Doctor. But that wasn't right... He blinked in confusion and looked at the Doctor in the restraint chair, then back at the other Doctor who was now smiling and rubbing the back of his head. There were two Doctors. Two very identical Doctors. This wasn't doing his head any good. "What sick game are you playing here, Doctor?" The Master spat. "Where did that...thing...that freak come from?" "Oi! I do have feelings you know." This other Doctor spoke up and the Master shuddered at its audacity to speak to him. "Shut up!" He growled and realised something else. This clone wasn't even full Time Lord. He took a step back, recoiling. "Oh, that is disgusting. It's human! Oh Doctor, were you lonely that much you created that thing?" The Doctor didn't say anything. "Well? Answer me!" He slapped the Doctor and Jaime shrugged John off her, stepping close to the Master with anger in her eyes.
"You leave him alone!" She growled and the Master raised his brows at her. A human was standing up to him! A damn Ape! Wait! Why didn't she change? Why didn't any of them change? Same as that Tyler girl. She didn't change either. Urgh, him and his Earth-girls! "And he's not a thing," she pointed back at the other Doctor. "He has a name and he's not just human. He's still a Time Lord and you're a brainless bully." The Master sneered angrily at the girl, not even realising she was reading his mind. "All that time in the Academy you bullied people and you hurt them when you hypnotised them, controlled their minds." "What?" The Master was stunned. "How do you..." "Well, I think you just met your match. Master...Koschei..." She smirked at the reaction to his name. "Go to sleep." The Master's eyes rolled into the back of his head and he collapsed to the floor, sleeping.
"Wow, that was Wizard!" John caught her when she wobbled. "Are you okay?" Jaime nodded that she was. Her head hurt from all the mind straining abilities she'd just used. "What about him?" John nodded at the helmeted guard with the gun. "It's okay. That's just Rossiter." She said and the 'guard' stepped forward taking his helmet off to reveal his green spiky head. "How do you know my name?" He asked, sounding a bit panicked. Seconds later Addams came running in and stopped when she saw John. "Oh heavens, there's two of them!" She said. The Half-Time Lord frowned at the green skinned aliens. "Are you in any relation to the Vocci?" He asked. "No, they're Vinvocci." Jaime answered and Addams was stunned. "How do you know that?" She asked.
"When you've finished chatting away you can help me out of this thing!" The Doctor shouted. "Oh!" While he Vinvocci helped until Rose and Wilf, J.D tried to untie the Doctor from the restraint chair. "I always thought he was a kinky bugger but this takes the biscuit!" The Half-Time Lord stated and the Doctor scowled at him. "Yeah, yeah, just hurry up!" "It's highly disturbing." John muttered.
"God bless the Cactuses!" Wilf stated as he was freed from his bonds. "That's Cacti." Rose told him after pulling the gag off. "That's racist!" Rossiter moaned. There was slight panic as they heard another Master speak up in a different room.
"Come on!" Addams panicked. "We've got to get out." "There's too many buckles and straps." John growled. "Just wheel him." The female Vinvocci said. The comment angered John. "I'm not wheeling my brother out lime a piece of meat." He shouted and the Doctor smirked. "Hold on." Jaime stepped forward and swiped her hand. All the straps holding him were cut in half and John pulled the Doctor off the chair. "How did she do that?" Addams sounded scared. "No time for questions. Now we go!" The Doctor said. "This way!"
They ran out of another door but Jaime hung back to kick the Master lying on the floor. "You're not very nice." She muttered. The Doctor came back. "What are you doing?" He took her hand in a painful grip. "Lets go!" They ran and caught up with the others. "We need to get to the TARDIS." He shouted only they found their way blocked by a couple of Masters. "This way." Addams shouted and ran down the stairs to the basement. Jaime looked back and blasted them with T.K blasts, watching as they tumbled backwards. "You're not making this any easier, Jaime." The Doctor warned. The group made it to the basement but so did even more Masters. "Gotcha!" One of them said. "You think so?" Addams pressed her watch and they were all Teleported onto the Vinvocci ship.
In a panic the Doctor pulled out his Sonic and zapped the Teleport controls. Jaime yelped at the amount of sparks. "What was that for Doctor? Rose asked. "To stop him following us," he said and turned to the Vinvocci. "Where's your flight deck?" He asked. "But we're safe," Addams replied. "We're a hundred thousand miles above Earth." The Doctor shook his head. "And he's got every single missile on the planet ready to fire." She winced. "Good point." She said and led the way.
Meanwhile Jaime stayed with Wilf as they stared out of the window at the planet Earth. She had never seen the planet like this before and it was truly, utterly, amazing, stunning. There was not enough words to describe it. She sighed and felt Wilf take hold of her hand. J.D came back. "Come on you two." He guided them from the window. "We're in space." Wilf stated. "I know."
By the time they arrived in the flight deck, Addams was shouting at the Doctor because he had blown up the flight controls. "Blimey! I leave you alone for a moment and all hell breaks out." John spoke up but the Doctor scowled at him. "You know what he's like when it comes to blowing things up," Rose said. "First time we met he blew up my job." The Doctor huffed. "I know you though, you'll have a plan. You always have a plan." The Doctor just glanced at Wilf. "He'll have one, not just straight away." Rose spoke up.
They spent several hours on board the Vinvocci space vessel and during that time Wilf got himself lost, the Doctor and John had an argument about 'putting Jaime in danger' and Rose, knowing what the argument was really about, took Jaime with her to explore the rest of the ship. The teenager was confused about the argument and scared. Scared because they were going to go back down to Earth soon and there was going to be Time Lords, Masters, Gallifrey, Wilf...and radiation. And that really scared her because someone was going to have to go in and let Wilf out.
Once the argument ended Rose and Jaime found the Doctor in the Teleport Room. He appeared to be doing something with his Sonic. "What are you doing?" Rose asked him as she sat next to him. He felt her shivering. "I'm fixing the heating." He replied. "Taking a long time!" "Is it cold? I hadn't noticed." Rose said. "You're shivering." The Doctor stated. "How are you feeling? He asked. "You know, after..." "Tied up and gagged? I'm fine, Doctor. Really I am." "Good." His attention turned to Jaime who was staring out of the window again. "What about you, Jaime? How are you doing?" He asked.
But she didn't answer, she was once again marvelling at the sight of Planet Earth. This wasn't a TV show, this wasn't Green Screen. This was real. "Jaime?" Rose was next to her now, bringing her out of her thoughts. "You okay, yeah?" "Take a picture!" She mumbled. "Sorry?" Rose wasn't sure she heard her right. "Take a picture." Jaime said a little louder and pointed at the Earth. "Oh, right. I already did ages ago. Is this your first time seeing the Earth like this?" She asked and smiled when the girl nodded. "It's there, it's real," she croaked. "You can actually see it turning. I can see Europe and Africa and..." She shook her head in disbelief. "You're not gonna faint are you?" Rose then asked. "No. I wouldn't do an Adam."
She felt surprise and annoyance, then heard the Doctor groan. She turned to him, frowning. "Don't ever mention that boy again," he practically growled as Rose re-joined him. "Ever." The teen nodded and slid down to sit on the floor, rubbing at her hands. She never expected the Doctor to react in such a way at the mention of Adam's name. Rose nudged the Doctor and nodded at Jaime who was still busy rubbing her hands. "Is the tingling back?" The Doctor asked her. Jaime nodded her head. "You're not feeling dizzy are you?" This time she shook her head. The Doctor sighed, realising he might have scared her at some point. "I'd like to know how you got into a year that was basically a Paradox and how you managed to get out again?" He asked and her eyes widened. That was something she really didn't like to remember along with most of the things she did, and that was one of her worst moments in her travels. "Well?" He really wanted to know and she shuddered. "Doctor!" Rose warned. "Give her time." She didn't have time though.
Jaime took a deep breath and said in a croaky voice; "through a Fire Portal. I got there after being on the planet Siren. Everybody was scared and there was so much malicious malevolence it hurt. And I tried to get out but all I could find was the Paradox Machine. It hurt...she was hurting so much and it hurt and I couldn't disconnect and everything hurt." Putting her arms around her lower legs Jaime stared off into the distance while Rose and the Doctor were listening intently. "And then...they...started hurting me and I tried to blast them but there were so many... So I Teleported into the Paradox Machine and it was worse. She was really, really hurting and she was hurting me and there was nothing I could do!" She sobbed. "I wanted to get away really fast so I opened up another Fire Portal...and I was on Utopia." Her eyes widened. "It was so cold...so cold...so very cold..."
She was beginning to hyperventilate and then Rose realised what was going on. "Oh, blimey! Doctor." She rushed to the teenager who was experiencing another bout of Post Traumatic Stress. "Come on, Jaime. Snap out of it," Rose soothed, rubbing the teen's upper arm. "I know you can do it." She made a weird noise like a strangled whimper and J.D came rushing in from the flight deck. "What's going on? What's happened?" He panicked and went to the teenager who was already being comforted by Rose and the Doctor. "She was telling us how she got into the Year," the Doctor answered. "This is the worst case of Post Traumatic Stress I've ever seen. Worse than..." He halted himself just in time while John raised a brow, knowing what the Doctor was about to say.
He sat opposite the teen with a worried look on his face. "Jaime!" He called and smiled when she looked up. Then she just about jumped him, sobbing as he comforted her. "Hey, it's okay. I'm here now." He said.
After getting lost on the ship Wilf found the Teleport Room again and noticed the amount of wires all over the place. "Aye, aye. Got the old tub mended?" He asked happily until he noticed the teenager was being comforted, her sniffles could be heard. "What's wrong?" "It's okay," the Doctor stood up. "Just bad memories." Wilf looked concerned. "As for this ship. I'm just trying to fix the heating." Knowing that Jaime was in safe hands he went back to his work. Wilf sat down close to the Doctor and took in the view of Earth. "Oh. I've always dreamt of a view like that," he laughed gleefully. "I'm an Astronaut. It's dawn over England, look." Both the Doctor and Rose looked. "Brand new day. My wife's buried down there. I might never visit her again now." The old man frowned. "Do you think he changed them? In their graves?" It was a horrible thought and the Doctor looked grim. "I'm sorry." He said. "No," Wilf waved him off. "Not your fault."
John heard Jaime mumble something as Wilf went on to talk about his time in the Service. "Sorry? What was that?" He asked. "Cybermen!" Jaime whispered, eyes wide. "In the graves." Rose glanced at John. "What do you mean? What are you seeing?" She asked. "The dead are rising!" She squeaked. "From the graves...as Cybermen." "That's not good," John uttered. "There's...a woman...calls herself...Missy...Master of disguises." Jaime hissed this last bit. "When is this happening?" Rose panicked. "Is it now?" Jaime shook her head. "The future. Two...zero...one...four..." She closed her eyes and shook her head again despite how bad it hurt her to do that. "2014? Well, at least it won't happen for a long time yet." John uttered. "Good thing it isn't happening now!" Rose said and looked at what Wilf and the Doctor were doing.
The old man had a gun and he was trying to give it to the Doctor. "Wilfred!" Rose shouted, shocking just about everyone in the room. "What that hell? Where did you get that gun from?" John looked around, surprised. "It's okay, Rose. It's just his old Service revolver." The Doctor told her. "Why the hell did you bring it with you? She continued to shout as John made it to his feet then helped up Jaime. "That's a really good question," John spoke up. "Why did you bring it?" "He was told to bring it." Jaime mumbled and the Doctor heard her. "Who told him?" He asked making Wilf nervous. Jaime shrugged. All she knew was that she was a mysterious woman and she wasn't sure if that rumour was true.
"If the Master dies, what happens to all the people?" Wilf suddenly asked, stunning both Doctors into silence. "I don't think you can just shoot dead a Time Lord." Rose told him. "Doctor, what happens?" Wilf persisted. "The template snaps." John told him. "What, they go back to being human? They're alive, and human. Then don't you dare, Sir. Don't you dare put him before them. Now take this," Wilf shoved the gun at the Doctor. "That's an order, Doctor. Take the gun. You take..." Rose snatched it out of Wilf's hands. "Stop it, Wilf. The Doctor doesn't use guns...or any type of gun."
They were disturbed by the Master's voice speaking over the intercom. "A star fell from the sky. Don't you want to know where from?" The Master taunted. "Because now it all makes sense, Doctor. The whole of my life. My destiny. The star was a diamond. And the diamond was a Whitepoint Star." Both Doctors gasped in shock. "And I have worked all night to sanctify that gift," the Master continued. "Now the star is mine, I can increase the signal and use it as lifeline. Do you get it now? Do you see? Keep watching, Doctor. This should be spectacular." Wilf and Rose looked at the horrified faces of the Doctors. "What's he on about..." Wilf was disturbed by a further broadcast. "And you can tell the 'Ghost of Christmas Past' that I don't like being made a fool of." This got Jaime's attention. "She may be a powerful Telepath but I'll have her pretty little head soon enough. Over and out."
The Doctor stared at Jaime. "That was you?" He growled in frustration. "It was an accident!" She squeaked, snuggling close to John. "No wonder the Toclafane attacked you." "Doctor! The Whitepoint Star!" John spoke up. "What are we gonna do?" Rose was puzzled. "I don't understand. What's a Whitepoint Star?" She asked. "It's a diamond that can only be found on one planet," the Doctor told her. "Which means its the Time Lords. The Time Lords are returning." "Well, I mean, that's good, isn't it? I mean, that's your people." Wilf queried. "Oh no," John uttered. "It's bad, very bad."
The Doctor suddenly snatched the gun out of Rose's hands and ran out if the Teleport Room. "Doctor!" Rose shouted and ran after him. Jaime and John followed them at a quick pace. All hell had broken loose on the flight deck. The Doctor was panicking, ordering people about while explaining to Wilf how the Time Lords had gone mad. Once he fixed the ship he sent Wilf and Rossiter to the laser pods, while he put Addams in charge of Navigation. Then he told Rose, John and Jaime to strap in because it was going to get very rough. Finally the Doctor pulled some levers and the ship powered up. "But now they can see us!" Addams moaned. "Oh, yes!" The Doctor grinned excitedly
Soon they were dodging missiles all over the place and Jaime really didn't like the way the spaceship was flying. It was practically nauseating and someone was screaming. J.D went to her and held her in comfort. He could hear Wilf whooping away as he blasted away the missiles with the laser cannon. Rose was trying to grab on to the Doctor but she kept falling backwards. "This is absolutely madness!" John shouted as a window shattered. "I love it!" Rose and Jaime wished they could say the same thing but both humans felt like they were in a washing machine. The Doctor grinned. "You ain't seen nothing yet!" He shouted back.
They continued to dodge and blast at missiles and then there were so many, Addams had to man the rear laser pod. "Lock the navigation." The Doctor shouted to John. "I don't think I need to ask where to do I?" The Half-Time Lord questioned. "Nope!" The Doctor popped the 'p', a mad look in his eyes. "England, Naismith Mansion." "Wizard!" John uttered and rushed to the navigation system, setting the co-ordinates in. Rose watched the Doctors at work but a weird feeling told her he was going to do something stupid. She looked at Jaime when she heard her groan and her face looked deathly pale. Then the teenager doubled over and threw up. Rise grimaced and went to help Jaime, keeping her eyes on the Doctors.
"Destination?" The Doctor enquired. "Fifty clicks and closing. We've locked onto the house." J.D replied. Addams had returned from the rear laser pod and now she looked worried. "We are gonna stop, though, Doctor? Doctor Smith?" She asked nervously. "We are going to stop?" Neither Doctors answered the female Vinvocci. "Doctor? Doctor. What are you going to do?" Wilf asked after rushing into the Flight Deck. It felt like he was suddenly on a kamikaze mission. The Doctor still didn't answer and they were all braced for a crash. What they didn't expect was for the Doctor to pull the Spaceship up at the last moment. Then he ran to a hatch and opened it.
Rose's eyes widened as he pulled out the gun. "Doctor! Don't you dare!" She warned. He looked at her with an expression that frighteningly reminded her of that moment on the beach. "I love you, Rose Tyler." He said before jumping out of the escape hatch. "DOCTOR!" She screamed and ran to the hatch, looking down at the ground. "Bloody stupid bastard!" J.D joined her. "Takes some guts to do that." He said but Rose just scowled at him. "Hold on!" Croaked a voice, their hands were grabbed and then they disappeared in a flash.
They re-appeared in the main room of the Mansion, landing roughly on the floor. They groaned but Jaime yelped again at the amount of malevolence in the world, but also the sudden loudness in her mind. It was noisy and making her head hurt.
A second later there was the sound of smashing glass and the Doctor came tumbling down. Despite the loudness and the wooziness Jaime reacted in a split second and held her hand out as she lay on the floor. He slowed to a stop a foot off the ground which confused him a bit until he saw Jaime, Rose and J.D off to the side. They'd obviously Teleported and made it down before he did. Show off! Jaime groaned painfully and dropped her hand causing him to land on the floor roughly, knocking the wind out of him.
"Oh, god, Doctor!" Rose rushed to him. "You stupid..." She smacked his arm, pulling him into a protective embrace. "What were you thinking?" He didn't answer her, just stared at the Time Lords before him.
"As predicted," Rassilon spoke up. "My Lord Doctor, my Lord Master. Then he looked at the extra three people in the room. "The Wolf." He said to Rose and she gasped. Then he looked at John with a disgusted sneer on his face. "The human abomination." If this was anyone else J.D wouldn't really be bothered. But this was Rassilon and the comment hurt him. "And..." SLAP! The sound resonated around the gate room as Rassilon stumbled back a little, a hand going to his cheek. There was a collective gasp from the Time Lords both vocally and mentally.
Jaime was stood, wobbling slightly and staring angrily at Rassilon. She had just Telekinetically slapped the ancient President of Gallifrey. "Jaime!" John hissed to her. "Why'd you do that?" "He's a Human/Time Lord Biological Metacrisis and his name is Doctor John David Smith." Jaime growled at the President. "And he is NOT an abomination!" There was a worldly amount of malicious impressiveness that could only come from one person...and his clones...but it made her swoon painfully. John caught her before she could fall. Lord Rassilon smirked angrily at the teenager. "And the Fire-Bird." He spat. John sensed annoyance from the teenager and felt her flinch.
"We are gathered for the end." "What does he mean?" Rose asked but the Doctor groaned. "Listen to me. You can't!" He pleaded. "It is a fitting Paradox that our salvation comes at the hands of our most infamous child." Rassilon continued, smirking at the Master. "Oh, he's not saving you," the Doctor replied, annoyed. "Don't you realise what he's doing?"
The Master stepped forward. "Hey, no, hey! That's mine. Hush," Rose glared at him. "Look around. I've transplanted myself into every single human being. But who wants a mongrel little species like them, because now I can transplant myself into every single Time Lord. Oh, yes, Mister President, Sir, standing there all noble and resplendent and decrepit. Think how much better you're going to look as me."
Sat on the floor and safe in John's arms, Jaime watched as Rassilon raised his glove and it glowed blue. Everyone soon began to revert back to being human and one emotion turned into thousands of different emotions. It made her feel a bit better, as she listened to the Master protest, but she still had all that loudness happening in her head.
"On your knees, mankind." Rassilon ordered and the humans obeyed his command. "No, that's fine, that's good, because you said salvation. I still saved you. Don't forget that." The Master still tried to be defiant. "The approach begins." Rassilon stated, smirking madly. "Approach of what?" Jaime felt confusion from the Master and wondered why she felt sorry for him.
"Something is returning. Don't you ever listen?" The Doctor snapped at his old friend. "That was the prophecy. Not someone. Something." "What is it?" He questioned. "They're not just bringing back the Species. It's Gallifrey. Right here, right now."
A rumbling could be felt until it turned into a full on quake. Looking out of the window J.D could see the burning mass that was Gallifrey baring down on Earth. He could sense that the Doctor was scared and to be honest, he was too. Suddenly he heard Jaime keening and he looked down as she put her hands on her head. "What is it? What's wrong?" He asked with concern. "Too loud! She cried. "Too loud." Oh, now this was bad. Gallifrey was full of Telepaths and she wasn't used to that many being in her head. "You'll be okay." John soothed her. "It's going to be okay."
The humans in the room began to scream and run away as soon as the rumbling was at its worst. Wilf, having managed to get back to Earth, pushed past the running humans, saw the technician trapped in the booth and went to help him. The Doctor saw him do it and shook his head. "Wilf, don't. Don't!" The Doctor muttered and this caught Rose's attention. She saw Wilf go into the other booth. "No! Wilfred! What are you doing?" She shouted. The technician was out of the booth and running like billio.
"But this is fantastic, isn't it? The Time Lords restored." The Master was a bit overjoyed. The Doctor sighed and stared at the Master. "You weren't there in the final days of the War. You never saw what was born," the Master and Rose listened. John tried to block it out. "But if the Time Lock's broken, then everything's coming through. Not just the Daleks, but the Skaro Degredations, the Horde of Travesties, the Nightmare Child, the Could-have-been King with his army of Meanwhiles and Never-weres." Watching this episode Jaime always wondered what these things were supposed to be. "The War turned into hell." Rose shivered and hugged the Doctor. "And that's what you opened, right above the Earth. Hell is descending."
But the Master grinned. "My kind of world." He said gleefully. "Don't you ever listen?" Rose shouted at him. "Did all those years as a human turn you into a stupid APE?" The Master looked greatly offended at the insult. "Just listen!" The Doctor spoke up. "Because even the Time Lords can't survive that."
Rassilon interrupted them. "We will initiate the final sanction. The end of time will come at my hand. The rupture will continue until it rips the Time Vortex apart." The Master looked and sounded stunned. "That's suicide." The Lord President smirked. "We will ascend to become creatures of consciousness alone. Free of these bodies, free of time, and cause and effect, while creation itself ceases to be."
Rose's eyes were wide with horror. She was speechless. "You see now?" The Doctor said to the Master. "That's what they were planning in the final days of the War. I had to stop them." "Then, take me with you, Lord President. Let me ascend into glory." The Master asked but Rassilon sneered at him and Jaime felt disgust wash off him.
"You are diseased," Rassilon spat. "Albeit a disease of our own making. No more." For some reason Rose found herself feeling sorry for the drum-crazed Time Lord. The other Time Lords didn't want him and the only man who could possibly help him was the Doctor. Suddenly he was on his feet and pointing the gun at Rassilon, a determined expression on his face. "Doctor?" Rose whispered, still sitting on the floor.
"Choose your enemy well. We are many. The Master is but one." Rassilon warned. "But he's the President," the Master shouted. "Kill him, and Gallifrey could be yours." The Doctor turned his attention to the Master, who was still trying to be a bad influence on the Doctor. Then he kept flitting back and forth until the woman behind Rassilon lowered her hands.
Jaime was still wondering if the rumour was true until she heard John gasp. That intrigued her. *Surprise! It's twins.* The teen painfully Telepathed to the woman. She looked at the girl with the pale face and smiled slightly. *Thank you!* the woman replied, shocking Jaime because she didn't think she would even get a reply. *I don't want to know how it happened. But please look after them. Both you and the Wolf.* Jaime smiled. *We will.* she replied.
Suddenly the Doctor turned back to the Master. "Get out of the way." He growled. For a moment the Master was confused until he realised and dived out of the way. The Doctor shot the link, dropped the gun which was kicked away by Rose, and turned back to Rassilon. "The link is broken. Back into the Time War, Rassilon. Back into hell." The Doctor shouted. The teenager grinned despite the pain she was in. That was her top favourite line of the episode.
Rassilon was incensed by all this, pissed off even. "You'll die with me, Doctor. You'll all die." "NO!" Rose was on her feet and standing in front of the Doctor to protect him. He tried to push her away but she wouldn't budge. Since the Telepathic pain was easing off Jaime shuffled towards Rose and the Doctor. John followed. The woman covered her face again.
"Get out of the way!" The Doctor heard the Master shout and he ducked, pulling Rose down with him. They watched, huddled together, as the Master struck The Lord President of Gallifrey with his Electro bolts. "You did this to me! All my life!" The Master shouted, hurt in his voice. "You made me!" John admired his courage to fight back. "One! Two! Three! Four!" The Master followed the Time Lords into light.
The four Time Travellers continued to huddle until everything was quiet. Jaime was staring wide-eyed at Wilf stuck in the booth. He had yet to knock on the door. "We're alive!" She heard the Doctor state and Rose laughed happily. "We're really still alive." John sensed Jaime's panicked fear and noticed what she was staring at. "Uhh, Doctor. Slight problem." John said.
Jaime watched as Wilf raised his arm and...
Knock
Knock
Knock
Knock
Rose and the Doctor stopped laughing. Jaime shuddered, eyes still wide. John was chilled to the bone.
Knock
Knock
Knock
Knock
Wilf continued.
Knock
Knock
Knock
Knock
Everyone was staring at the old man in the booth now.
Knock

The very thought of what was going to happen next completely terrified Jaime so much she accidentally relieved herself. A wet patch spread on the seat of her trousers and warm liquid pooled on the floor.
"They gone then?" Wilf asked. "Yeah, good-o. If you could let me out?" "Yeah." The Doctor muttered, standing up and helping Rose to her feet. John was up next. "Only, this thing seems to be making a bit of noise." He continued. "Oh, Wilfred! We told you not to go in there." Rose groaned.
"The Master left the Nuclear Bolt running," the Doctor explained. "It's gone into overload." "And that's bad is it?" Wilf queried and Rose snorted sarcastically while John shook his head. "No, because all the excess radiation gets vented inside there. Vinvocci glass contains it. All five hundred thousand rads, about to flood that thing." He told Wilf. "Oh, well. You'd better let me out then." The old man chuckled nervously.
"Except it's gone critical," the Doctor spoke up. "Touch one control and it floods." He took out his Sonic Screwdriver. "Even this would set it off." "I'm sorry." Wilf apologised. "Sure." Both Doctors said. "Look, just leave me." Wilf pleaded. "We're not going to, Wilf." Rose told him. "We'll figure out a way to get you out."
The Doctor turned to Rose and John. "There's only one thing I can think of." He said. "None of you could survive that. I could." Rose gasped, her eyes wide. "Doctor, no, you can't!" She cried. "If I don't, then he's stuck in there. I love you, Rose Tyler." He put his hands on her shoulders. "I don't think I say that enough. I love you with all my hearts." He hugged her and turned to the glass booth, Rose trying to stop him.
Jaime was up on her feet in a flash, almost slipping on the wet patch on the floor. "STOP!" She commanded. The Doctor suddenly halted, unable to move and Jaime groaned at the sudden pain in her head. Rose and John looked at the teenager, concerned. She knew she was never going to be able to to keep him in place so she held her hand out. A mini whirlwind appeared around the Doctor's feet and they were frozen to the floor.
"Cryo-Aerokinesis!" John uttered. That actually surprised Jaime too. "What the hell are you doing, Jaime?" The Doctor demanded and Jaime stumbled to stand in front of all of them, looking angry. Wilf looked confused.
"This is not your choice to make," she shouted at the Doctor. "You're not the one who's dying. It's not your Song that is ending." "Jaime?" John questioned. "What is it?" She looked at the nuclear booth and both Doctors understood. "This is all me. I have to do it." The Doctor shook his head. "You can't. You're just a human. It'll kill you!" Jaime snorted. "Oh, shut up Doctor." His mouth snapped shut and his eyes widened in surprise.
John was looking more upset by the minute. "Jaime, what are you saying? You don't have to do it." "But I do," she stared at the booth. "Cos Ood Sigma said so." "What's this got to do with him?" John asked and Rose nodded in agreement. "Cos he told me the 'sacrifice had to be made in order for the Fire-Bird to rise'." John snorted in disbelief. "But I don't WANT the Fire-Bird to rise and I'm a little scared... No. I'm ALOT scared. Really, really scared. You have no idea," "I think I do," John could sense she was terrified. "You don't have to do this just because an Ood told you." "I do, 'cos I'm dying anyway ain't I."
She suddenly got angry again. "Was this the whole reason why I was brought to this Universe? Just to do...this? 'Cos it's all so...really...FUCKED UP!" She shouted loudly and then looked at Wilf. "And you? You really had to be bloody helpful didn't you. You just HAD to go in there without a second thought." She ignored his protests as she moved towards the door.
"No...don't," John pleaded. "Jaime...I..." He halted, panicked. "I love you!" Jaime stopped and grimaced, her heart skipping a beat and she felt a flutter in her stomach. He didn't half choose his moments. She took a deep breath and turned back to John, a faint smile on her face as she approached him. "Oh, John. I love you too. I've always loved you from the moment you stepped out of the TARDIS." He grinned at this and she reached out and pulled him towards her where she kissed him awkwardly on the lips and then stepped back. "I gotta do it." She said. "I'm sorry!" And she froze his feet to the floor as well. "Hey!" He uttered.
She heard the Sonic Screwdriver buzzing so with a wave of her hand the Sonic flew out of the Time Lord's grip and skittered half way across the room. The Doctor flapped his arms and gave the teen his best Oncoming Storm glare. Putting her hands on the door she ignored the look, Rose calling her name and Wilf pleading for her not to do it.
Jaime looked back at the Doctors and Rose. "Bye!" She said, opened the door and stepped inside. "Get out!" She shouted, voice echoing. It was all too much. She almost fainted and her nose finally began to bleed, splashing down on the controls while Wilf blinked and turned to the door. She slammed down the now slippery button and Wilf quickly exited his booth.
Meanwhile Jaime's booth turned red and she was exposed to all 500,000 Rads of radiation. She yowled in pain and collapsed to the floor, nose bleeding profusely. She never felt pain like it before. It was so horrible and hot and before she was lost to the darkness she managed to put her grimy hand on the door, her fingers doing a Vulcan hand sign. 'Live long and prosper.'
