The four Time Travellers appeared in a mini whirlwind in front of the TARDIS after Aeroporting off the hospital roof. "Woah, and I thought plain old Teleporting felt unusual." John said, feeling a little bit disorientated. Luckily Jaime was there to keep him steady. "Thanks!" She smiled happily.
"Well, lets see how she's doing." The Doctor unlocked the door and they all walked inside. The console room had been fixed completely and Jaime was happy to see that it was still coral. "It's still the same." Rose said. "Well of course she's the same," the Doctor replied, sending the TARDIS into the Vortex. "What were you expecting? A different console room?" They heard Jaime snort out laughter and looked to see that she was casually leaning against the railing. "Oh, don't tell me. If I had regenerated into someone with floppy hair and childish words I would have changed the console room?" Jaime nodded, grinning.
"That reminds me!" The Doctor approached her and took her hand. "Allons-y!" "Wha'?" Jaime held back. "Where are we goin'?" "The Med-bay of course." He replied and her eyes widened. John sensed she was annoyed, maybe a little scared. "Och, come off it, I'm fine!" She tried to pull out of his grip but the Doctor held on. "Jaime, you're human, remember. Humans don't just regenerate." Oh, of course! She sighed. "Fine."
She let the Time Lord drag her to the Med-bay with Rose and John following. Once they got to the Med-bay, the Doctor put Jaime through every medical test he could think of and by the time he finished she was in a foul mood. She'd once again blown up the brainwaves machine...this time it was in bits, so the Doctor took the hint and stopped what he was doing.
"Well, what's going on then?" Rose asked once the Doctor cleaned the mess away. She sat on one of the Med-bay beds with Jaime. "It's really quite interesting," He replied, looking at the dark haired Scot. "But there's no sign of the brain haemorrhage." "What?" Rose said. "How is that possible?"
Jaime sensed some sort of moodiness from John. He was stood against the wall with his arms folded. "Will it come back?" She asked. The Doctor shook his head. "No, I don't think there's a chance of that happening anymore." Rose frowned, confusion washing off her. The Doctor sat down opposite them, blew out a breath and then scratched at the side of his face. "Welllll..." He drew it out. "Change in physiology for one thing." All Jaime did was narrow her eyes while she heard Rose gasp and John sigh.
"Don't string it out, Doctor." The Half-Time Lord spoke up. "She's got two hearts and a respiratory bypass hasn't she?" "Oh no, not at all," the Doctor replied. "It's quite the opposite. She's more like you. Half Human, Half Time Lord." J.D was stunned and Jaime could feel it. "You're kidding me?" He said. The Doctor shook his head. "I'm not." He was looking at Jaime, gauging a reaction from her. "But Donna became Half-Time Lord and that was killing her." Rose said. "Won't the same thing happen to Jaime?" But the Doctor shook his head again. "No. That won't happen."
After taking all the news in, Jaime spoke up. "Is there an actual reason why I regenerated intae somebody who looks tae be in her twenties. Am I even a teenager anymore?" "Uhm...yes, you're still a teenager. You just look to be in your twenties." The Time Lord told her. "As for why you regenerated you had elements of Time Lord biological matter in your system. And that's what was killing you, as well as manifesting into your Omni-powers. Being human, the biological matter didn't agree with your physiology."
Jaime frowned. "So where did this Time Lord element come from?" She asked. The Doctor smiled grimly. "That's a really good question but I don't think I have an answer for you." John raised a brow and Rose looked confused. "You come from a Universe where Time Lords don't exist, except on the TV, yet here you are with elements of a Time Lord in your system." "And the only person who can answer the question is in another Universe?" Jaime sighed. It would have to do for now.
"So what now?" Rose asked. "Well, now that she's regenerated she should be more stable. Both mind and abilities." The Doctor answered. "It seems the Time Lord part of you took over." Jaime gasped in realisation. "Dae ye the Time Lord side is more dominant than the human side?" "Yes, in a way." The Doctor narrowed his eyes. "Where'd you come up with that?" "It's how Dyna explained it." He wasn't quite sure why the Time Lady from another Universe was discussing something like half human, half Time Lord.
"Right!" He uttered as Jaime took a bottle from her Capri's pocket. "I 'spose I dinnae need these anymore." They were the painkillers and there were only five left anyway. The Time Lord took them off her. "Hold on! These are the ones that were stolen from you!" Jaime smiled sheepishly. She still didn't quite comprehend why she did that. Oh, sure she'd been in a bad place at the time but it disturbed her all the same. "Aye! They are." She said in a low voice.
The Doctor could tell she was highly uncomfortable with the subject so he asked her a question. "Where did you get that Sonic Screwdriver from?" He enquired and Jaime furrowed her brow. "This?" She took it from her jacket pocket. "Yes. Can I see it?" She handed over the green and yellow tube, not worrying she wouldn't get it back. It was hers and it belonged to her. The Doctor inspected it and when he pressed the button nothing happened. "Isomorphic controls. The last time someone had Isomorphic controls on their screwdriver was the Master. Who gave you this?" Jaime leaned back on the bed. "Dyna did. She used it tae track me...tha's how she found me. Then she gave it tae me."
"And it's yours because it only works for you...which I don't quite understand. Why would it have Isomorphic controls?" He asked, handing the chunky tube back to Jaime. "I dinnae know!" She replied, putting it back in her pocket. "What is it, Doctor?" Rose asked because he was still thinking. She could tell by the look on his face. "The only reason why it would have controls like that would be if it was important."
It was an interesting thought as Jaime stared up at the roof after receiving a nudge from the TARDIS. She was singing as loud as she wanted now. "Wha' is it?" She asked aloud, feeling confusion and curiosity in the room. *The book, Omni.* Came the reply. "Book? Wha' book?" *From the Library.* She was confused for a moment until she remembered she was given a book she couldn't open 'til after Boxing Day 2009. Her eyes widened. "Och, wait a minute!" And she rushed out of the room.
Rose stood up. "Where's she going?" The Doctor shrugged, furrowing his brow. Thirty seconds later she came back with the wrapped up book. "The book from the Library!" She said and tore the wrapping off. They all stared at the title of the dark coloured book. "Human to Half-Time Lord: The Basics," the Doctor read. "Knowing Your Physiology." They heard John gasp. "Look who it's been written by!" He said. The book had been co-written by Donna Temple-Noble and Delta Zeta.
"She isn't supposed to know!" The Doctor panicked and took the book off her. It also smelled of Gallifrey and after licking it, found it tasted of Gallifrey too. "Hey! Dae ye mind?" Jaime snatched the book off him. "Gan and find yer own book tae lick!" "But that's Donna," John was panicking too. "She isn't supposed to remember." Jaime growled. "It ain't our Donna." "What do you mean?" Rose was confused. "This is a parallel Donna. She travels with Dyna now." "What?" The Doctor exclaimed. "She took Donna tae the Time Lords." "What?" Both John and the Doctor said at the same time. "She went through a partial full conversion." "What?" Rose said alongside the Doctors.
"Och! For the love of sanity, will ye stop saying 'what'!" Jaime shouted. They all looked sheepish and the Doctor apologised while rubbing the back of his head. "Tha' other Donna. Her mind is stable she gets tae be the Doctor-Donna without burning up. See, her Time Lord side is more dominant than her human side." "Alright. So that's where you got it from," Rose realised. "It's a bit drastic isn't it?" Jaime shrugged her shoulders a little. Maybe it was. But being an Omni-Psychic she wondered if she could do anything for their Donna.
"Do you think she's happy?" John asked and Jaime could sense he was happy too when several minutes ago he was moody. "Ye've perked up a bit, ain't ye." She said. "Well..." He looked sheepish and she stared at him, reading his mind. "Really?" She said, placing the book on the bed. "Ye were upset 'cos ye thought I'd gone full Time Lord?" He narrowed his eyes, then nodded in defeat, caught out.
"Awwww..." She put her hands on his sides. "Poor..." She squeezed and he yelped, shaking her off. "Wha' was tha'?" Her eyes were wide, staring. "Och!" She breathed, grinning. "Is my wee Johnny a wee bit ticklish." "No!" The Half-Time Lord protested. "Stop reading my mind." Jaime jumped forward and started to tickle him again. He giggled between protests and failed to push her off him. Then she felt something poking her leg. "Wha's tha?" She asked, stepping back, looking down at his trousers, then back up at him. "Nothing!" John said. His face was red out of embarrassment and from all the giggling. "Is tha' why ye changed her trousers? 'Cos ye were feelin' uncomfortable?" "Stop it!" He admonished. Instead she reached down, grabbed a hold, hearing him gasp, then squeezed firmly. J.D groaned and whimpered. "Yer comin' with me, big boy!" She whispered in a seductive way and dragged him out of the Med-bay, which just left Rose and the Doctor.
They were staring wide-eyed and open mouthed. "Did...did that just happen?" Rose asked. "Yes...I think it just did!" The Doctor answered. They stared at each other and it was Rose who made the first move. Her arms wrapped around his neck and they kissed rather passionately. Well, that was until the Doctor pushed her off him. "What?" She asked, somewhat sullenly. "I think we should find somewhere more private, don't you think?" "Oh? What do you suggest?"
With a smile on his face the Doctor took her hand and led her out of the Med-bay. After a short walk down a corridor they stopped and the Doctor placed his hand on a pad. A new corridor opened up and they walked down it towards a door. "Where are we?" Rose enquired. "You'll see." The Time Lord opened the door and they walked inside.
Rose gasped. It was a room, big and spacious...and homely. There was a study area on the other side with a 'small' library. On the roof of the room was the Constellation of Kasterborous. "This is your room!" She uttered in wonder. "Oh, yes!" The Doctor replied. They laughed before resuming their passionate kissing, and then the door slammed shut.
