A/N: So I know I said I'd be back to my usual update rate and usually I wouldn't just fall off the face of the earth again but more personal stuff happened which I won't get into but part of it was my first serious break up so I wasn't exactly in the mood to be writing happy couples… but here I am back despite all that. Thanks for sticking around those of you still here; I'm sorry for the wait!

Also, this is my first crack at this sort of thing so I kept doubting about posting it or changing it again…

So here, for you guys, have an update. Enjoy! ;)

Taylor walked round the kitchen still very carefully but with a huge smile plastered on her face until she heard a knock at the door. She wandered over to the front door humming softly, happy with herself that she hadn't jumped at the noise. She still took the time to look through the peephole before unlocking the door.

'Hi there'

'Hey Taylor, you're looking happy with yourself'

'I'm in a good mood that's all. …sorry, am I right in thinking you're De-'

'Derek. Yes ma'am Derek Morgan' he winked playfully at his best friend's partner.

'I thought so; I met you at the hospital when I was drugged up right?'

'Yeah you were still kind of out of it' Derek laughed

Taylor could instantly tell why Emily spoke so highly of this man, he was so easily likable she was already laughing along with him.

'Sorry, come on in' Taylor stepped back to let her past. 'So, I guess you're looking for Em?'

'Yeah I've not seen her since you guys were discharged, just wanted to check in on her'

Taylor smiled at how caring he was 'she's in our room watching Iron Man'

Derek's eyebrows rose in amusement 'Iron Man? I mean I approve but still-'

'Yep I know she's such a nerd' Taylor chuckled.

'That's why we love her!'

Derek knocked on the door so as not to scare Emily before sticking his head round the side. 'Hey Em, can I come in?'

'Yeah sure'

Derek still approached slowly despite the smile Emily was sporting which filled Derek with a bit more confidence. 'How're you?' Derek asked delicately.

'Better'

'Yeah?'

'Honestly Derek I'm doing way better now I promise'

'You've talked to Taylor? About everything?'

'Yeah the other day…'

About an hour later Derek wandered back into the kitchen looking visibly lighter, and Taylor got the sense Emily had done some more healing too.

'You heading out?'

'Yeah I'm flying to Chicago this weekend while we're still off so I've got to go do all my last minute organising'

'Oh well have fun with that'

'Packing a bigger bag than my usual one? It's my dream that!' Derek's voice oozed with sarcasm as he walked out of the door. 'See you later Taylor'

'Bye Derek'

'Hey' Taylor pushed open the bedroom door around six, with a pizza box, a bottle of wine, two glasses and a smile on her face.

'Hey' Emily smiled back from the bed 'dinner?'

'Yep, our favourite pizza, and the doctor ordered some wine buzz I think' she winked as she sat down cross legged next to the still lounging Emily

'Actually the doctor said I'm not supposed to drink on these meds and-'

'I'm a doctor Em, and a little wine won't kill you I promise' Taylor cut her off 'plus, since when did Emily Prentiss ever turn down her favourite food and drink combo!?'

'Well if my personal doctor says its okay…' Emily laughed as she sat up next to Taylor and took to offered glass.

Taylor opened the pizza box on her lap and leant closer to Emily, whilst making herself more comfortable. 'So what movie are you up to?'

'Nearly finished Iron Man 2, about to start 3' Emily mumbled through a mouthful of pizza.

About two hours – a pizza and a couple of glasses of wine each – later, Emily and Taylor were cuddled up together, occasionally quietly talking whilst the movie built into yet another big fight scene behind them.

'I'm glad you're coming back to me Em, you scared me there' Taylor murmured, her lips brushing against Emily's neck, her hot breath hitting her sensitive skin.

'I know and I'm sorry, I'm just trying to get my head around everything still' her fingers brushed against Taylor's side where her own FBI shirt had ridden up slightly.

'I love you' Taylor whispered into Emily's ear before placing a kiss under her ear and then trailing them down her neck to the base of her neck right over her pulse.

Emily turned her head so her nose brushed with Taylor's 'I love you too Tay' she whispered back before kissing her deeply. The kiss became increasingly heated before they pulled apart and looked into each others eyes. Both of their eyes had significantly darkened and Taylor could see the question in Emily's which she was sure was present in her own.

Emily pulled back slightly and allowed her eyes to roam down Taylor's figure curled up next to hers, feeling an all to familiar heat begin to spread from deep within her.

'Are you sure?' Taylor finally voiced the question that would lead to them doing what they both clearly wanted to.

Emily had never been good at schooling her expression around Taylor, and Taylor could plainly see on her girlfriend's face that she was more than sure of what she wanted, but she was scared.

'I don't want to hurt you' Emily's whisper broke mid sentence.

'We won't hurt each other' Taylor said strongly before capturing Emily's lips again.

Things progressed quickly yet slowly at the same time. It felt like they couldn't get each others clothes off fast enough, yet they were taking their time not to hurt each other whilst placing gentle kissed on each piece of newly exposed skin. Emily thought she would be reluctant to let Taylor see her naked, and truthfully, she was terrified of what her girlfriend now thought of her, but she had also never felt safer with anyone else.

Taylor ran her fingers gently down Emily's stomach and sides, before moving down to the waistband of her underwear. She placed a firm kiss to her lips, cupped her cheek in her hand and waited until Emily met her eyes with her own.

'Are you sure you want this, we can wait, I don't want you to feel rushed into anything and I-'

Emily cut her off with a deeper kiss until Taylor couldn't comprehend thought and then made sure she was listening 'I trust you. I need this Tay please'

Taylor looked for any signs of doubt on Emily's face, before she trailed kisses along Emily's jaw, to her ear, and down her neck stopping to suck the skin into her mouth, causing Emily's stomach to flop in such a good way. Tay's mouth then made its way to her chest; causing Emily to lean her head back heavily against the pillow and shut her eyes, giving herself over to the feeling's Taylor stirred within her.

By the time they finished making slow love, Iron Man 3 had built up to the final scenes, Gwyneth Paltrow having just fallen to her sure death.

'Oh yeah like she's dead' Taylor scoffed, her head on Emily's stomach, Emily's fingers running through her hair.

'It's for dramatic effect; you don't have to criticize everything you know'

'Okay okay sorry, I didn't mean to offend your nerdiness…'

'It's not about nerdiness, its attention to detail regarding the plotline. If you take out the fall then you-' Taylor cut Emily off with a look. 'Well sorry, I'll just lie here quietly and let you criticize my movies then' she joked, turning her attention back to the TV.

'Awwwwww I'm sorry' Taylor teased as she moved up her girlfriend's still naked body to curl beside her, allowing her fingers to trace the scars still fresh on her skin.

She felt Emily tense up under her fingertips, although those brown eyes were still on the screen, Taylor could tell she was conscious about the particular scar she was currently slowly tracing: the scar where the bullet had entered her torso; right underneath her breasts, which was healing, but was clearly still red and jagged.

'Hey I have an idea' Taylor spoke quietly as she straddled Emily again and gently leant over her

'Oh yeah?' Emily's eyes roamed Taylor's skin, still slightly yellow with bruises, while she ran her hands up and down the thighs either side of her waist

'Get your mind out of the gutter Em' Taylor chuckled before running her fingertips over the jagged scar once again. 'We need to make a circle here' she ran her index finger in a circle about two inches out from the scar before looking back at Emily's eyes again 'and we cut it all out' Emily met her eyes now with a confused look on her face 'and we put in one of those light boxes Iron Man seems to like so much' Taylor laughed as realisation dawned on Emily's face.

Emily sat up and tipped Taylor backwards until they were sitting face to face, Taylor's thighs still either side of Emily's waist despite the fact she was now sitting between Emily's own.

'Whilst I would look cool with a light-heart, I'm pretty sure there's no shrapnel in me that I'd need preventing from getting to my organs, so-' Taylor once again cut Emily off with a kiss. 'That's becoming a thing now isn't it?' Emily laughed

'Well, you talk too much' Taylor smiled cheekily

'I know I keep saying it, but I'm sorry I pushed you away' Emily tucked some hair behind the other brunette's ear 'I was just scared that you wouldn't want to be with me after what happened'

'Hey, please tell me that you know I meant everything I said the other day, that I don't blame you? And that I love you more than anything? And that I'm never going anywhere?'

'I'm not going to lie to you I was still struggling with it all, but I promise you I've really started to believe you. I love you Tay'

Taylor couldn't see a lie on her face, and all she could do was smile, knowing that they really were getting back to the couple they were before… Maybe even stronger.

A/N: So like I said I'm sorry for the delay! I've got the rest of this story written though so the next chapter will be up next Sunday and the very last chapter up the following week!

Would love to hear what you all think – if you're still out there!
