Hey, guys! This chapter is.. Different. I've had to ignore the word cap this time... But you'll understand why soon. This is a chapyter, but... There's also a part at the beginning that you really need to read.

VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE -

SOPA IS BACK!

If the act is passed, all sites such as fanfiction, deviantart and tumblr will be taken down, and people who make fanart or fanfics for ANYTHING could get into serious trouble. The worst part is, America seem to think they can control the world... Not only will this ridiculous act affect them, it will affect us ALL. Noone will have any freedom.

And the worst part?

The petition needs 100,000 votes before 19th March. So far it has just under 7,000.

They're trying to pass it quietly this time. 2014 looks like it could be the year that we lose this war against SOPA. We can't let that happen! Sign the petition, and if you're too young, at least pass on this message everywhere you can! There's a hell of a lot more than 100,000 of us out there, but we all need to pitch in, or it's over! We only have a week to get ore than 93,000 signatures!

The petition can be found here: htt ps: petitions . whitehouse . gov/ petition/ stop-sopa-2014 /q0Vkk0Zr (Take out the spaces)

DON'T IGNORE THIS MESSAGE. FIGHT FOR OUR FREEDOM.

Umm... Sorry about that. It had to be said; I don't want Americans forcing me to stop writing! I'm British, goddammit! American politicians, stop going for world domination via the internet! SOPA won't benefit anyone!

Sooo... This one's Puzzleshipping, set during the canon plotline. And I sorta ignored the word cap... You'll see why at the end, in the author's notes at the bottom.

#33 - Too Good To Be True

Words - 773

Yu-Gi-Oh doesn't belong to me, but to Kazuki Takahashi.

He won.

But this time, it wasn't a battle he wanted to win.

Atem watched sympathetically as his other dropped to his knees on the floor, unable to restrain his tears any longer.

The duel was over.

And now he had to leave his Aibou and their friends.

He joined Yuugi by the ground, offering words of comfort, helping to lift the other's spirits. Though he couldn't help the occasional stray tear, he was still able to give his closest friend of all the reassurance he needed. Their friends bid him goodbye, Honda and Anzu even attempting to get him to stay... But from Yuugi? Nothing. He stood by, watching, barely whispering a goodbye, wiping his eyes with his sleeve. His eyes softened. The one person who he felt could convince him to stay... Had said nothing.

"Atem!" He yelled as he stood before the door. Blinding light cracked through the darkness of the tomb as the door to the afterlife slowly opened with a groan. Slowly, he began stepping forward, glancing behind him. Still nothing, but the spirit could see that his partner really was trying... He was trying to be strong. For him.

Contrary to how it had opened, the door snapped shut in a mere moment with a loud bang, and everyone jumped.

He was risking it.

He was going to stay.

He was greeted by smiles and joy from most of their friends. The only people who didn't seem to be joining in were the Ishtars and Yuugi, although Yuugi's expression did look rather hopeful.

"Can I talk to Yuugi for a second, everyone?" He asked suddenly, and everyone fell silent, parting so he could reach the aforementioned person. He glanced at them again. "...Alone?"

They looked slightly confused, but obliged nevertheless.

"Aibou-"

"I'm sorry!" He blurted. "It's my fault! If I hadn't been so weak... You were supposed to pass on! If I hadn't started crying..."

"No... That's not it..." He smiled at Yuugi's stunned expression as he lunged forward, pulling the other into a bone-crushing hug.

"Mou- A-Atem?!"

"You're the most important to me..." He whispered in the other's ear. "You... Only you. I stayed because I'm weak. I can't exist in a world where I'm not by your side..."

Understanding passed between them. Nothing more was needed to be said; the message was as clear as day.

Their discussion was broke by the sound of rumbling.

"It's happening!" Isis yelled. "The tomb will collapse, and we'll all be buried with it unless we get out now!"

Everyone leapt into action instantly, tearing away as fast as they could. Atem and Yuugi shared a look and nod of agreement, following.

"The puzzle!"

They needed the Millennium Puzzle. Without it... They could lose Atem. Their efforts would have been for nothing.

He watched as Yuugi tore for the puzzle, but his eyes widened as he saw a particularly large chunk of rock come crashing down. "Gah!" He managed to avoid it, but only just. Moments later, he had hold of the puzzle, and tossed it to the other before following him to the exit of the cave.

Light!

"We're out!" Atem turned to smile in relief at his partner, but his stomach twisted in horror as he noticed that he was the only one there. A huge boulder blocked off the rest of the tomb, and he tried to run back in to lift the rock, only to feel a hand grab his shoulder.

"It's too late! We're not gonna lose you, too!"

In that moment, Atem hated Jounouchi. Everyone was silent as they caught their breath.

"...Where are Yuugi and Atem?" Anzu was the one who broke the silence.

"Huh? Atem was just-" He broke off, looking around. "...I don't know..."

"Huh?! I'm right here!" He tried to yell at them, but remained unheard. He glanced down at his body and was horrified to see that he's returned to his transparent form.

"The body the Pharaoh was granted was temporary, and would vanish if he chose to leave the tomb," Isis explained. "If..." She closed her eyes with a pained expression. "If the body has perished, the pharaoh will have nowhere to go. He will return to the Puzzle..."

"Can't we do anything?" Honda cried out in panic.

Atem's world was becoming much darker all of a sudden.

"Yuugi..." Anzu whispered sorrowfully.

"I'm afraid not. The doors to the afterlife have been closed forever. The only way for him to possibly break free now would be if Yuugi solved the puzzle again in another life, and that could take centuries, millennia... If it ever happens at all."

His world went black. The Puzzle exploded into pieces once more.

Yami awoke with a start, looking around himself wildly. He was still on the boat, in control of the body.

...He had to leave tomorrow, no matter what.

The word cap was butchering this, that's why it seems so choppy. In the end, I decided not to shorten it less, it would only ruin it more. Plus, I wanted the chapter out as soon as possible... FFN is running out of time, and I didn't wanna risk some people not knowing until it's too late.

Another question - Should I just abandon the word cap? I'll just try to keep them around 1,000 words... After all, I know a few of you who don't bother with word caps in your themes challenges *Cough*Fallen*Cough* and I love yours a lot more. But it's up to you guys... I'll do whatever the majority think, so please tell me in a review!

Even if you can't be bothered to do that, please review. Last chapter got 11 reviews, I'm back on track! Wooooooo! Can this continue? Pleeeeeeease? *Shot*

Thanks to my reviewers last chapter: YamiNoIcexIcuo, Scaehime, ChangeOfHe4rt, samaurai, Dark-Wiccan-Goddess, TexasDreamer01, TheCrystalEevee, xfallenangel13x, a, Lunagale and CynthiaTheButton! You guys rock!

Anything you wanna say about this chapter, tell me! And tell me what you think about the proposition about the word cap!
