Hello, everybody! XD Last chapter got 11 reviews! NOt as good as the 17, but I have a feeling `i only got that many due to the whole SOPA situation, so 11 is still awesome! x3

Anyway, I think I should says something in case there's somebody out there who doesn't know... We totsally smashed SOPA into the ground! Woo! XD Teamwork gets us far, guys. I mean, according to TigerDragon4, the news said it was the largest online protest in history! Now THAT'S an achievement! It jus goes to show that no matter the fandom and/or ships we support, we can all work together for a single cause and CONQUER! o3o

So, here's the next chapter. I really hope you guys like it, and sorry for being a day late, I was unable to get on my computer yesterday!

#35 - School

"There's Domino High, or Rintama- In fact, no, Rintama High's a bad choice, most the kids who go there are really rough, they'd be too much of a bad influence-"

"Atem-"

"Or..." The man being addressed continued to ignore his partner as he flipped through tabs on the second window on his laptop screen, browsing schools in the local area. "Oh! It says here that Kaiba's Duel Academy should be finished on the twenty-first of next month. Maybe we should enroll him there-"

"ATEM!"

Red eyes flitted away from the other side of the screen to see his husband glaring at him with an irritated expression on their skype call.

"Finally!" Yuugi grumbled, irritated. "Have you ever thought about just asking him? Or maybe at least let me in to your thought process right now?" Atem froze for a moment and blinked.

"...Oh. Sorry, Aibou, I guess I got a little carried away, there..." He rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "So... Umm... Can you get Judai? I'd love to speak with him, it's been so long..." Yuugi nodded after a moment's thought.

"Okay. Just give me a second." The other man got to his feet, and there were some shuffling noises as he disappeared from the view of the webcam. "JUDAI! ATEM WANTS TO SPEAK TO YOU!"

He snorted to himself as he heard a faint cheering noise as as their adopted son came bouncing into view along with an equally amused Yuugi. They'd only adopted him from the orphanage he'd lived in most of his life six months before, so he still referred to them with a first-name basis. After all, he was still getting used to his new family.

"Yo, Atem!" He brunette boy waved with a grin, which he quickly returned.

"Yo, kiddo." He grinned. "How have you been doing?"

"Great!" He winked. "I've been keeping out as much as I can. Yuugi goes crazy when I spend too much time in the house, so..."

"Ah." He couldn't suppress a smirk, he could imagine Yuugi doing just that. His smirk grew wider as he had another thought, and Judai gulped, knowing what was coming. "Soo... Has Alexis been over recently?"

The boy yelped before a slight tint of red tinted his cheeks. "Atem! What the hell?! Not cool, man!"

"Up to his old tricks again, I see..." Yuugi rolled his eyes, but his amusement was revealed by his fond smile. "Before we started dating, he always sued to tease me about this girl I liked..."

"Whoa, you liked a girl?!"

Yuugi rounded on him with an annoyed expression. "Keep talking and I'll punch you. In the face." It was amusing to see how confident Yuugi was nowadays. Of course, he was only joking; over the past couple of years there was one thing that hadn't changed - his hatred of violence.

"Yeah, right," the teen dismissed casually. "You wouldn't hurt a fly!"

"Famous last words..." Atem muttered, making the other two snort in laughter. Once the laughter died down, he took the chance to speak. "So, Judai... Have you given any thought to where you want to go to school, yet? You can't really afford to miss any more of your education..." Immediately, he jumped right back into his previous conversation he'd been having with his husband. "So far I've been thinking of Domino High, or if you want to do professional dueling, there's the duel academy... What about you, Aibou? Ideas?"

Yuugi shook his head with a smile. "Nope. You narrowed it down a lot already. It's up to you now, Judiai. Feel free to take your time deciding, but make sure you let us know before the end of the week."

The boy nodded, before addressing the man on the computer screen. "Umm... Atem..?"

"Hmm?"

The teen averted his brown eyes, looking suddenly rather nervous to ask. "...When are you coming back home to Japan..? We miss you back here... It's not been the same without you..."

His eyes softened, not missing his lover's saddened expression. It was apparent that Judai wasn't the only one missing him while he was on his trip to Egypt. It had been a few weeks, now, and he had to admit, being away from his family for such a long time was really getting to him.

"I'll... Try to be back when I can. Okay?" The brunette sighed, but nodded in resignation nonetheless. "Hey... Don't look so sad. I miss my boys, and I'll get back home as soon as I can... Promise." He nodded again after a moment, looking slightly more cheerful. "Anyway..." Atem glanced at the clock. "Shouldn't you be in bed by now? It's past midnight."

"But-" Catching the look his adoptive father gave him, he nodded quickly, exiting the room.

Yuugi raised an eyebrow. "Any reason you're keeping the date you're coming back from him?"

His husband simply shrugged. "I want it to be a surprise. But by the gods, I'll be glad to be back home with you, Aibou." He smirked. "And I think I'll have to prove to you just how much I've missed you when I get back, huh?"

Yuugi returned the look. "Definitely. I'm not convinced just yet."

"Hmm. We'll have to take care of that, then-"

"Guuuuuuys! I can still hear you!"

"Go to sleep, Judai!"

I have no idea what in particular inspired this one, but I have a cuttle little drabbleverse AU idea in mind now, just like I had for Light and Run Away (That drabbleverse isn't over, by the way! XD). As for why Atem/Yami is in Egypt... I don't actually know, but I wanted him to be away because I was thinking of the first episode of GX, where Older!Yuugi gives Judai the Winged Kuriboh card and he seems really surprised. I wanted to give the impression of a sorta variant of that; in this, Atem comes back home on the day that Judai started the Academy, and it was him who gave Judai the card, which is why he was so surprised. I dunno, I just love the idea of Yuugi and Yami being Judai's parental figures. Sorry if he seems OOC, I've never actually watched GX except the first part of that episode and a few random episodes back when it was still ongoing on TV (The dubbed GX crap of course, the exact same dub crap which gave me the impression that YGO sucked as a kid), so I had to use what I could remember about him, and I hope I did him justice without making him too... 4kidsey. *Shrugs*
