Chp 24
Kieran's POV
I relaxed on the couch on the roof and stretched out my legs. I was trying to relax because I had had a long day and didn't feel like milking around my place.
I wondered what Callie was doing. I desperately wanted to see her again, having not seen her all week. She always made me seem relaxed, intrigued and inquisitive at the same time.
I looked up as I heard the door open. My heart raced as I saw Callie for the first time all week. She had sweat pants on with boots, a tank top and a thin jersey with her blonde hair down and falling perfectly to frame her face. "Hey, stranger. Where you been?" She asked, giving a smirk as she plopped down next to me.
I gave a smile. "I've been busy." I said, sighing. She nodded.
She got out a cigarette and her lighter. She lit it and took a deep inhale. She waited, expecting me to tell her off or something. When I didn't, she asked, "You not going to give me a lecture about how it's bad to smoke?"
I shrugged. "It's your life. You waste it how you want and I'll waste mine how I want." She looked at me, her face in deep perplex for a few moments then blew the smoke out. She threw it in the floor and trod on it, putting it out.
She pulled her jersey closer. "It's awfully cold out here." She said, and I nodded. She looked to me then stood. She took my hand and pulled me up. "Come." She said, leading me off the roof and down a floor.
She unlocked a door and we went in. It was obviously her apartment. It was quite clean despite her not seeming like the type of person crazy about organization.
She grabbed a bottle of red wine and two glasses and lead me to her room. She poured for us and handed me a glass. She shrugged off her jersey, and I sat on her bed, moving till I was leaning against the headboard.
She joined me and we were silent for a while sipping our wine. "You seem quite detached today." She said.
I shrugged and looked down at her. "Just been a long week." I said.
She put her glass down and put her legs over mine as she sat in front of me. "You know, I find it very hard to be cynical if you are being all recluse yourself. That's my job."
I chuckled and put down my glass. "I'm sorry." I apologized. "I personally think you just have problems with opening up to people but you find it hard to hold back with me."
She smirked. "Don't flatter yourself." She said, making me smirk.
"I secretly think you have a major crush on me but you just don't want to make me believe so." I said, smiling.
"Suppose I do, what would it change?" She asked, smirking at me.
I pulled her into my lap. "Well I guess we would have to see." I tempted.
She just carried on smirking as she looked at me. "I think we would stumble upon a problem that I don't like being held down in relationships."
We stared down each other. Who would react next? I stayed very still to try and push her first.
She leaned forward and pressed her lips to mine. She seemed taken aback when I parted my lips and kissed her back. I cupped her cheek and she ran her tongue across my bottom lip.
I wanted to push the boundaries to the limit but had made a mistake by doing that before. I tried to convince myself I didn't care about boundaries as she made me shudder from pleasure.
She placed her hand on the bottom of my shirt and tugged it over my head. I felt a wave of adrenaline flow over me as she rested her hand on my chest, and reconnected our kiss.
I rested a hand on her hip, and rested my forehead against hers, pulling back to catch my breath again. She smiled, catching her breath. She didn't do it in a joking way. She was genuinely happy. I smiled back, happy I had made her feel that way.
~ 11:53 pm ~
I lay on my back, Callie resting her head on my chest and playing with our fingers. She was cuddled into my side, the start of cool winter evenings approaching rapidly. Her hair tickled my skin, and her skin radiated heat onto my arm that was around her waist.
I saw the time on the clock on the wall. The guys probably were wondering where I was. They probably didn't guess I was two floors above them, feeling the most relaxed in a long time.
I wanted to stay like this forever - cuddled under the duvets with my sweats on and a stunning girl at my side. I concentrated on the way she played with our fingers, wondering how something that would usually be unnoticed by people could be making me feel so warm to the core.
She looked up at me, her beautiful blue eyes looking into my green eyes, feeling like she could look right into my soul, know everything I was thinking. "You hungry?" She asked. Wow. I was thinking about her and she was thinking about food?
I chuckled at my thought and nodded. "I guess so." She gave a smile.
She sighed, propping herself up on her elbow and looking around the room. "If only I didn't have to get up."
I chuckled but she pushed herself up, taking her warmth away from me. She swung a leg over my waist to climb over me to get to her cupboard, but I stopped her before she could swung her other leg around.
She looked down at me as I studied a tattoo on her left ribs. It had someone's name. I gently stroked it with my fingers. "My aunt is fighting breast cancer." She said, giving a smile before leaning down and kissing me.
She got up and I watched as she pulled a shirt on over her undergarment and then pulled on a leather jacket. She slipped on her boots and looked up at me. "Come on, I'm hungry." She said.
I chuckled, not wanting to get up. She walked over and took my hand, tugging on it. I finally obliged due to my hunger, and got up. I pulled on my top and my hoodie, slipped on my shoes, then headed out the front door with her.
We managed to find a Thai restaurant still open that had take aways. We ordered some food and sat down to wait. She leaned into my side as I put an arm around her shoulders. We waited till we got our orders than went back to her place.
We chatted and ate our food. She laughed, leaning into my side. We were lying on her bed, relaxing after eating the Thai. It was one in the morning, and I didn't have the energy to get up.
"You going to head back to your place?" She asked.
I shrugged. "I don't know. I'm comfortable." I said. She didn't say anything but didn't push me off the bed either.
"Well I'm tired, so I'm going to get ready for bed." She said, getting up. I kicked my shoes off and pulled off my hoodie and shirt and tossed them on the floor. My sweats were comfortable enough.
I couldn't help watching as she pulled her shirt off and her dandelion tattoo came into view. I forced my eyes away, not wanting to be rude. I slid under the covers and lay back, waiting for her. I gulped as she jumped in next to me, a simple tank top on with some sweats.
She cuddled into my side like she we had been before supper and she turned off the light. "Night." She said, taking a deep breath. I smiled.
"Night."
