First off, I'd like to apologize for the long wait between chapters, I've been crazy busy lately with school, but now that's basically over, so you guys get another chapter! I hope you like this one, remember to review it, also if you have any suggestions for future chapters, let me know and I'll consider them. On a side note, Watch_Dogs itself comes out tomorrow, so I'll be busy playing that, and (hopefully) getting new material for the story. Anyway, I'll let you all read the chapter now.

Desmond woke up in the hotel room he was renting to the sound of someone pounding on the door.

"This is the police! Open up!"

Shit, Desmond thought to himself before getting out of bed.

"You have ten seconds before we break down the door!" The officer shouted from behind the door.

Desmond grabbed his hoodie and put the hood up.

"...9!" The officer shouted.

Desmond grabbed his phone.

"...7!"

He shoved his laptop into his messenger bag and put it on.

"...5!"

Grabbed his wallet.

"...3!"

He opened the door that lead to the fire escape and jumped out.

"...1!"

Just as Desmond had closed the exit, the cops burst into the room.

"Damn it, he's escaped." The first one said as they looked around the room.

Desmond was looking in, despite his instincts telling him to get as far away as he could. The 'cops' weren't cops at all, they were Abstergo security! They looked around the room a bit more for him, but Desmond didn't see them look around, he had already left.

Desmond walked into the repair store.

"'Morning! I fixed your blade for you, sir." The owner said as Desmond walked up to the counter.

"It was a really interesting design, I've never seen anything like it, the retracting feature was tricky to fix, but I got it done in time." The main said, demonstrating it before placing it on the counter.

"Now, since you paid in advance and with a, *erhm*, premium, that's all I'll be needing."

Desmond picked up the blade and tested to make sure it worked.

"Now, I don't know what you'll be using that for, but I really hope you won't be using it for stabbing people."

Desmond looked at him. "Oh, don't worry, I won't be using it for evil purposes." He gave him a smile and left the store. He really hoped he wouldn't have to, at least.

Aiden got out of bed and grabbed his phone. He had a lot to do today. He had a quick breakfast and grabbed his car from the garage and headed out to the Abstergo building downtown. Once he was there, he parked his car on the roof of a nearby parking garage and got a good look of the building. It wasn't particularly tall, eight floors, and the entire thing looked like it was made of glass, as if it could shatter in an instant.

Aiden pulled out his phone and got into Abstergo's security grid. It sure was a good thing he decided to get a new processor for his phone, he thought, as he started checking the cameras in the building. He quickly realized that there were a lot of them. Not including the ones in people's phones and on their computers, there were at least a hundred of them in all. Damn, these people must be really paranoid, Aiden thought to himself. Or hiding something…

He checked the cameras on the top floor of the building, since he presumed that would be where the head honcho's office would be located. And sure enough, it was.

Right on the top floor, the head of Abstergo's Chicago branch, her profile read, was Cassandra Frost. She made $540,000 per year Aiden read while looking through her profile. Jeez, Abstergo pays their branch leaders well, he thought as he hacked her bank account. Then again, so do most companies. But she wouldn't miss a few thousand out of all that she made… Back to business, though, he thought.

He was viewing her through her computer's webcam, so he switched over to… the hidden camera in a painting on the wall? Strange, Aiden thought. He decided that his earlier thought of them being paranoid was correct. Whatever the case, he had full view of her computer, so he went into it and began searching through the files with his phone. Abstergo seemed pretty confident that nobody would be able to get into their computers, which was good for Aiden, but he couldn't help but think that it was a trap. Still, he managed to find what he was looking for.

Last night when he was reading up on the Pieces of Eden and the Assassin/Templar conflict, curiosity had gotten the better of Aiden and he wanted to know more about Abstergo's end goal, since the files he'd stolen didn't elaborate on it.

He found a folder labeled PROJECTS: END_GOAL and took it. Well, he tried to, at least. It was a huge folder, several dozen gigabytes at least. The download time was twenty three minutes, so Aiden would have a bit of waiting to do. He launched the NVZN alternate reality app on his phone to pass the time. Might as well spend the twenty three minutes doing something fun.

Rebecca woke up in her luxurious king sized bed in her awesome hotel room. Man, whoever paid for this place had a lot of money. She still didn't know who it was, she thought, checking her phone to see if she had any new messages from the mystery person who had asked her to come to Chicago. Nope, nothing.

She got out of bed and put on some more respectable clothes than her pajamas, then went downstairs to grab some breakfast. As she was eating her breakfast, she got a text from whoever sent her the messages.

"Meet at Millen Prk 2 hrs" it just said. Odd, she thought. Before, the person sending her the messages were all using regular works, not shortened text speak. Well, maybe they were in a hurry, she thought. She still wondered who they were. Maybe it was Shaun? Nah, that wouldn't make sense, they saw each other all the time back in Montreal, if he'd wanted to talk to her he just would've, not be all cryptic and stuff. Then she got worried. Had Abstergo found out she was stealing data from them? No, that was impossible. She was the best hacker in a dozen countries, there was no way Abstergo would be able to find out that she had stolen their data, or even that their data had been stolen. Not in this city, of course. This was the home of Dedsec, one of, if not the best hacker group.

She finished her breakfast and left the café. She had some time to explore the city before heading over to the Park, might as well make the best of it.
