Uhh... *Smiles sheepishly* This was BY FAR the most difficulty I've ever had with these drabbles. I only finished writing it a couple of minutes ago; I've spent at least the last week trying to think of what to write.
Also... Not to beg, but... Where's everyone gone? I've noticed a decline in reviewers lately... Are my chapters getting bad? Maybe it was becauser I mentioned fem!Yuugi last chapter so some people stopped reading as son as they saw that it said that... Ah, well... At least I still have reviewers, and there's no chance I'm going to turn into one of those people who say 'ILL ONLY UPD8 IF I GET X AMOUNT OF REVYOOWS FOR TEH LAST CHAPTUUUUUR!11!1', because yeah... I promised you (And if I didn't, it's an unspoken promise) that updates will be every four days, and that's not changing. x3
Anyway... Yeah. I tried, but if it seems a little sloppy, sorry. I wanted to get this on here as soon as possible, and the prompt really didn't want to cooperate... :/
I hope you enjoy it, and please point out any embarrassing mistakes so I can fix them, if you can xD

Two children could be heard giggling, their voices almost drowned out by the sloshing of the water.
"Come on! It's not far now!" Two boys with tricoloured hair and tanned skin were running alongside the river, one dragging the other along slightly. Both were giggling uncontrollably.
"Prince! Where are we going?!" One of the boys, the one being dragged, pouted cutely slightly at his friend. The look was only enhanced by his rounded violet eyes, and the small bang that hung loosely in front of his eyes. Said Prince smiled slightly and winked.
"You'll see, soon..." The prince looked very similar to his friend, except for the fact that there was no smaller bang in front of his face, and his eyes, while still rounded with youth, were naturally a slightly narrower shape. Despite their similar looks, they were reasonably sure they weren't related, unless the prince had any half-siblings he didn't know about. The Prince smirked a bit as he thought about where he planned to take his two friends... Speaking of which, where was the other child? "Ah, Heba?"
"Hm?"
"Where did Mana go?"
Heba frowned, looking around as they stopped. "I am not too sure..."
"Waaaaaaaaaaait! Guys!' a girl's voice whined. The two rolled their eyes and shared a glance.
"...Mana..." They murmured simultaneously. Moments later, hurried footsteps were heard as a barefoot girl with a bushy mane of dark brown hair charged at her friends, green eyes watering slightly from the loose grains of sand that had gotten into her eyes.
"Hey, wait up! Guys, I'm coming!" Seconds later, she had latched onto the Prince, almost bowling him over. "...Hi." She giggled.
"What took you so long?!" Heba gave a half-hearted glare; he wasn't really angry at the girl.
"Eh..." She rubbed the back of her neck awkwardly. "Mahaad almost caught up with me, I had to hide..." The red-eyed boy nodded.
"Oh... Okay! Come on, time to go!" And with that, he began to drag Heba again, Mana at their heels.
"Ooh, Prince! Are we going there? You've never shown Heba that place before."
"Hmm?" Heba frowned; why did Mana know, and why was he the only one left out of the loop? He frowned at the slight feeling of loneliness.
"You'll see." The Prince winked. "It's a surprise!"
Several minutes later, the three found themselves following a small stream that separated away from the Nile, eventually ending by some rock. Vaulting over the rocks, they noticed a small waterfall caused by the change in landscape.
"So... Where now?" Heba looked confused, and the other two exchanged smirks.
"Right this way!" Mana's smirk widened as she lifted her staff, creating a bubble that surrounded her as she stepped through the waterfall, vanishing from sight. The prince groaned.
"Manaaaaaaaaaaaa~! You were supposed to go through last! Now how do we get through?!" A giggle, and Heba looked worried.
"Uh... Prince?"
"Atem. There's no one around other than us three, and you know I hate my title!"
Heba nodded. "Atem... What's going on? Is Mana okay?"
Atem nodded, before pacing around. Finally, he growled, and faint giggling could be heard from the other side. "She left us! We were gonna go through with those bubbles, but she left us! Come on Heba, we'll have to jump-"
"WHAT?!" Heba glared, slight terror in his eyes. "Atem, we can't do that! We'll be crushed under the water pressure!"
"It's how I got through the first time, and I'm okay, aren't I?" Atem pouted at him. "Come on... Do you trust me?"
Atem's eyes softened, his expression resembling a kicked puppy. Heba flinched under his gaze, knowing there was no way he could deny his prince, and not just because he was royalty. Heba had always admired his best friend, but recently, his feelings were only growing. He averted his eyes slightly, hoping that his tan was enough to hide his small blush. "Umm... Of course I do..."
Immediately, the prince brightened, holding out a hand. "I promise, nothing's going to hurt you. I won't let it. You can trust me, always." He nodded.
"Okay."
"Jump with me."
Violet eyes widened in horror. "...WHAT?!"
Atem giggled. "We'll have to jump. I promise you, we'll be safe!"
Worried circulated through the boy's mind. What if the water pressure was too strong? What if he slipped? Even worse... What if there wasn't really anything behind the waterfall other than solid rock and a painful death? Gazing into the other's eyes again, however, was enough to strengthen his resolve. He'd do it.
"...Okay." He took the other's hand carefully.
"On the count of three, Heba." Atem smiled softly. "One."
They stepped back slightly so that they could get a good running jump.
"Two."
Heba's grip on his hand tightened, and Atem ran his fingers over the knuckles soothingly.
"Three."
And with that, they charged at the fast-flowing sheet of water, landing with a slight stumble in a small cavelike hollow the rock. Mana grinned at them, motioning them out of the water and onto the drier ground, a small fire lit before her.
"Me and Mana found this place a few weeks ago," he explained. "It was when we were hiding from Mahaad, and you were doing those chores for Isis." Heba groaned at the memory; the three of them had decided it would be a fun idea to prank the priestess, only for it to backfire spectacularly. Somehow, the boy's two friends had managed to escape without punishment, leaving him to follow her around all day doing whatever menial tasks she could think of to keep him occupied.
"I like it!" Heba grinned, and Atem gave him a warm smile, a slight trace of a blush on his cheeks.
"I'm glad... I was kind of nervous about showing you this place..."
The two stared ar each other for a moment, smiling, only to jump slightly as they heard a sloshing noise. Atem looked up sharply, only to see the ede of Mana's foot as she steeped through the waterfall once more, again in a protective bubble.
"...MANA!"
Heba sighed. "She left us again..."
"Ah, well." Atem grinned and took his hand as they faced the water. "You still trust me, right?"
Heba squeezed his hand with a grin. "Always."
Uhh... Yeah. Here it is. I think I subconsciously based this on the scene at Waterfall Cave in the Mystery Dungeon games; I've been playing Explorers Of Sky recently and since I beat the game yesterday for the umpteenth time it's been a complete sea of feels. DAMN IT WHY DID YAMI HAVE TO LEAVE?! EVEN ON MY ARCEUSDAMN DS HE LEAVES HIS AIBOU BEHIND! GAH! But at least on there they get their... Post-Story Ending. *Winks* Sorry, if you read that oneshot you'd understand. o3o
Oh, and about how I described Atem's hair - in this he's a kid, not really little but probably either a young teen or a preteen, I didn't really have anything in mind properly. But in the anime, it shows him as kid with hair that looks a lot like Yuugi's but without that little forelock; without his bangs shooting up, so that's how I imagined him to look in this one.
I hope this was satisfactory, and I have no idea how Mana ended up worming her way into this story, but I think it worked out XD And sorry that this seems pretty friendshippy to all you romantic Puzzleshippers out there (Most of you are, me included), but sometimes it's nice to just imply that it'll be there in the future and write them as kids who sorta like each other/will eventually but are happy with friendship for now. XD
Oh, and funny story... I actually got this to 1000 words coincidentally. No, really! o.o
PLEASE review! Whenever I get less I internally panic and think 'OH GODS WHAT DID I DO WRONG?!' and I guess that's just something that happens to everyone sometimes. Anyway, thanks for reading, and thanks to those who reviewed last time; TheParasiticComplex, snow-kim, Scaehime, Chaos Twin Of Destruction, ChangeOfHe4rt and Lunagale!
