This time, the council was gathered in their main base.

"They are coming. We have Aiden, but that seems to only be driving them more intensely."
"But how did they escape the drone we sent after them?" One of the members asked.

"They… Stole it." The leader said reluctantly.

The council members all started whispering to each other at this news.

"Silence! We shall not be stopped by them! Once it's power has been harnessed, we can leave this place forever, and fulfill what our ancestors could not!"

The council was silent.

"Meeting adjourned. Prepare for the attack."

As Desmond and Rebecca were driving through the city, Rebecca driving, and Desmond keeping a wary eye out for any potential threats, whether it be drones or another suicide bomber, Desmond realized something.

"Um, hey, do you think we should stop at a store and pick up some guns or something? I mean, we are unarmed. Other than my hidden blade." Desmond said, holding up his arm so Rebecca could see his wrist.

"Oh, wow, I would have thought you'd have lost that thing ages ago. And besides, we aren't unarmed, we've got our phones, remember?" Rebecca said, holding up her phone so Desmond could see.

"Yeah, but I'd still prefer to have a long-range weapon of some sort."

"Fair enough, we'll stop at one in a bit. You've got a license, right?"

"No, do you?"

"..."

"..."

"Well, it's a good thing we've got assassin-passes, right? Permits to just about anything that need a permit, and all."

"That seems a bit cheaty, doesn't it?"

"Well, not just about anything. But guns are kind of a thing assassins need, so we've all got gun licenses under a fake name."

"How did I not know about that?"

"You left when you were barely an adult, remember? You didn't exactly stick around to see what cool stuff we had."

"Oh, right… Sometimes I kind of wish I had stayed, y'know? And hey, you joined the Assassins later on, how do you know all this stuff?"

"What, you don't think they give recruits training?"

"Right, of course. Sorry, not thinking straight at the moment. Everything is a bit weird right now, my mind is kind of on other things..." Desmond said, pressing a button on his phone.

"Yeah, things tend to be weird in our line of work. Oh, hey, there's a gun store, let's stop there and get some supplies." Rebecca said, pulling in to the parking lot.

They picked up a few assault rifles, a grenade launcher, two SMGs for each of them, a sniper, and several pistols for the both of them. And ammo for everything, of course. Lots of ammo.

"Think we got enough?" Rebecca asked, throwing the sniper into her trunk.

"No, but it'll have to do, I suppose." Desmond replied, throwing their 416 assault rifle into their trunk.

"Dude, I was joking. We definitely have enough."

"Yeah, but we don't know what kind of weapons they have. They could have a nuke, for all we know."

"Oh, god, they freaking better not have a nuke. I will be sooo pissed if they do…"

Desmond laughed at that.

"Don't worry, I'm pretty sure they don't have a nuke. Anyway, let's get going before that store clerk decides selling us a metric crapton of guns was a bad idea."

"Yeah, you're right. Y'know, I could have sworn Chicago had stricter gun laws." Rebecca said, getting into the driver's side and starting the car.

"Yeah, me too. Huh, guess they must have changed them or something." Desmond said, getting into the passenger's seat.

"Weird."

"Weird, indeed."

"Are you sure this is the place?"

"It's a cabin the middle of nowhere, right where the map is white-hot. Of course I'm sure."

They both looked at the cabin for a minute.

"It seems a bit clichéd, doesn't it?"

"Yeah, not gonna lie, it is pretty clichéd. Hey, what do you want to be that there's an elevator to a massive underground complex inside there or something?"

"Not gonna lie, I agree with you. They can't fit everything in that one little cabin, after all..."

Silence between them as they looked at the inconspicuous cabin some more.

"Well, I'll go in first. Scout out the place and whatnot." Rebecca said, and started to walk forward.

"Wait, hold on a second." Desmond said, holding her back. He activated his eagle vision and saw several mines in the ground, along with tripwires leading out into the forest, activating who-knows-what.

"Yeah, just as I thought, there's a bunch of traps everywhere. If you'd have taken a step further you probably would have blown up."

"Hey, I've got an idea, why don't you go first?"

"That sounds like a pretty good idea." Desmond said, cautiously making his way forward, avoiding the various traps, with Rebecca being careful to step right where he stepped, so as not to set off any of the traps.

When they finally made it to the door, they were both already pretty stressed out.

"Craaaaap." Rebecca said, facepalming.

"What…?"

"Forgot the extra ammo for the sniper."

"Oh, you have got to be kidding me…"

After going back to the car, getting the ammo, and coming back, Desmond and Rebecca were standing in front of the cabin again.

"This is it. Into the belly of the beast." Desmond said.

"Let's do this." Rebecca said, her voice shaky, and she pushed open the door.

Inside, they were greeted with what you would expect from a small cabin in the woods. There was a fireplace with a fire, a few bookshelves, a couch facing a small TV, a dining table and chairs, and a door that must have lead to a bedroom off to one side.

"This doesn't really look like an elevator to a massive underground complex." Desmond said, slightly disappointed, but also relieved.

"Dude, remember, cliché? Start pulling books off these shelves, one of them will probably trigger the floor opening up or something." Rebecca said enthusiastically, already starting to yank books off the shelves they were on. Desmond sighed and started pulling books off another shelf.

A few minutes later, looking at the large pile of assorted books on the floor, Rebecca couldn't figure out why they weren't standing in the middle of DedSec's base yet.

"Rebecca, maybe this place isn't cliché-heavy. Maybe it's under the floorboards or something?"

"Maybe, I guess just start checking everything…"

Some time later, exhausted from searching every nook and cranny of the cabin, Rebecca and Desmond sat down on the couch, exhausted.

"This is ridiculous. Are we sure we're even at the right cabin?" Desmond exhaustedly asked Rebecca.

"Yeah, and remember all the traps outside? Definitely the right cabin."

"Uggghhh, you know what, I'm watching some TV. I saw that dish on the roof, I bet they get all the channels." Desmond got up and turned on the TV. As he did, it was just static.

"Damn it! This is useless, Rebecca, let's just go!"

"Fine, maybe we are at the wrong cabin and the owner is just paranoid or something."

They both walked to the door, and Desmond opened it and walked outside.

He immediately noticed that something was very, very, wrong. They were no longer outside, but instead in a very large underground facility. Some might call it massive, even. Or a complex, perhaps.

"Dude. What the hell." Rebecca said as she stepped outside.

"I have no idea…"

They were in a large room with just them and the cabin inside, and when they looked up, they could see that there was a large tile that had slid in and covered up the hole where the cabin must have been. They checked the windows, only to see that they were not actually windows, but instead monitors, rigged to show the outside.

"Well, this is elaborate…"

"This is freaking insane, is what this is!"

"No kidding. Hey, look, there's a door over there, let's go check it out." Desmond said, pulling out one of his pistols, just in case.

"Well, here we go, into the belly of the beast…" Rebecca said, pulling out a gun and following Desmond towards the door.
