...Wow. This almost didn't happen; I literally only just wrote most of this. Some of it I'd already started immediately after updating last time, but... Something came up and it was entirely my fault. I'm going to explain; this isn't some social life thing but it's not dead serious, but still, it could be important for you to know what's happening with me right now in relation to updating.
(Sorry for the super long note... I'd just like to get all of this out of my system so I don't have to go back to mention anything else later. The fandom is giving me problems right now, which I'll explain in this.)
Eh... I was on tumblr and I got super confused by all those dark Yuuya posts flying around because I'd only watched up to episode 6 of Arc V, so after updating and writing a little bit of this I decided to watch episodes 7 and 8. Then (spoilers)I learned how freaking awesome dark duelist guy is, and saw how even more how much of an adorable little shit Shingo is. So I decided to go and look on tumblr for a bit (Totally expecting to ship Yuuya and Dark duelist guy who looks like Yuuya and suddenly... I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED BUT I DARTSHIP INSTEAD AND I'M OBSESSED HELP ME. Like, I CAN'T FREAKING STOP SHIPPING YUYA AND SHINGO AND IT HURTS BECAUSE THERE'S ONLY THREE FANFICS, ONE OF WHICH IS FLUFF, ONE IS A LIME AND ANOTHER IS LIKE REALLY DARK SMUT WHICH UPSETS ME, AND THERE'S ONLY A FEW FANARTS WHICH I SQUEAL SO MUCH WHEN I FIND. So, Dartshipping suddenly took over through my mission to search for more by refreshing tumblr every two seconds and intensely watching two rp blogs that like to rp Dartshipping together.
Besides, it's also nice to enjoy a calm fandom. It's so early that everyone in the Arc V fandom seems happy about every ship, even those who have already chosen OTPs. Not to mention there's no character bashing; Yuzu is loved and everyone in the fandom is outraged that she might lose her duel. The DM fandom has so much hate, so many shipping and character wars, and even within a ship there's hate. It's freaking stressful, I'm sure a lot of you get that, too. For about a week I've been losing the will to read fanfics, even before Arc V unfairly took ahold of my life too early, and I have a sneaking suspicion that this is part of the reason why.
The reason I just told you all that is because I have had no motivation for the past four days to read or write any Puzzleshipping, not even to catch up on my favorite fanfics and this is quite upsetting, really. Still, I decided that I would still update today no matter what, it's still my OTP after all and I also don't wanna quit this since I said I'd write all one hundred, so here's today's drabble.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy! XD

During the day, the city of Domino was bright and constantly busy; your average, generic city in Japan.
By night, however, the moon would cast an almost eerie glow on the practically deserted streets of the city's outskirts, reminding people of a ghost town. While it was true that many people, particularly the younger generation, would often still love to go out at night to party and visit clubs, that was a sight more suited to the middle of the city.
The almost blueish hue of the darkened forest by the city's edge did nothing to reduce this feeling of superstition. Especially with the faint silvery highlights cast by the moonlight.
Blue eyes flashed through the darkness as a figure appeared in the very heart of this forest, transparent strands of white hair tinted blue swaying in a nonexistent wind as she looked around hopefully. Ah, it must have been that day. Maybe he'd show up. After all, she would always get a premonition when somebody was going to visit, and as soon as they stepped foot into her clearing, she would know everything she needed to about them. She knew somebody would visit, and desperately hoped it was him... Even if it was to only see him just once in this lifetime. Even if it was just to say goodbye, at last.
She felt rather than heard the crunching of the leaves as a male figure cautiously stepped towards her lake, the many sensations suddenly thrown towards her soul at once; she had immediate access to all of the man's reasons for being here; his loss, his love, his identity. And yet, guiltily, all she could focus on was the fact that it wasn't him who had braved the trip into the forest at this hour.
No, this man wasn't her long-lost beloved. He probably wasn't worth her time, most weren't.
"H-hello?"
Quickly, she darted beneath the water with a slight splash. Really, this made no sense as she was a mere spirit and she would often ponder how she impacted the water whenever this happened, but now probably wouldn't be the best time for that. The man, who looked much younger than his true age of twenty-four, as her premonition told her, leaned towards the river, large violet eyes wide with curiosity and slight fear.
"Umm... Are you there? M-my friend Bakura-Kun told me about a spirit in these woods letting people speak to lost loved ones..." He averted his eyes to the ground, as if wondering if this whole plan was useless, maybe a prank. "I-if you're really there... Can you help me? There's somebody I need to talk to... Even if it's just to say goodbye. We never really got that chance."
Even if it's just to say goodbye.
Maybe she had been wrong about him. All he wanted was the chance to say goodbye to the one he loved, after all. Making her decision, she slowly rose from the water, making him jump back in surprise.
"Mutou Yuugi..." He stepped back in shock as she emerged. "Your friend was correct in bringing you here."
He blinked, stunned, before finally managing to find his voice. "So... You're... Kisara?"
She nodded. "Yes. Three thousand years ago I was torn from my own beloved, the part of my soul known as my ka ripped from me to be used by others. Somehow, every year on the anniversary of my death I can remain in this world for one night as a spirit... And every year I have searched for him." She smiled sadly, looking in the direction of the city beyond the trees. "I can sense him, but vaguely. He lives in this city, and so I have been waiting here in this forest, every year for a decade." She averted her eyes for a moment. "But he just won't come here, despite the rumors... I don't think he believes in magic anymore. He has forgotten the old ways." Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, she turned to Yuugi once more. "So, you would like to see your beloved Yami one last time, I assume?"
He shouldn't have been surprised; she seemed to already know who he was for some reason, after all. "Y-yes... He was in a car crash with my friend Honda two years ago... Honda lived, but Yami died before the ambulance could get there. I never got to know before it was too late..." He wiped his eyes; it seemed he'd shed a few tears without noticing. "I just want to talk to him. The very last conversation we had was mundane and pointless, but he's so much more than that. If I can't spend the rest of my life with him I'd at least appreciate closure, for one last conversation that counts. I don't want the last moment we had together to be mundane."
She smiled sadly. "Very well said, Mutou Yuugi. I believe I can grant you your wish, but remember this - he will be called back to the afterlife when I am, so you have until sunrise to say anything you need to say."
'If only Seto were here...'
After speaking, she plunged under the water once more and watched, out of sight. Her work here was complete.
After a few moments, another figure began to take shape before Yuugi, who gasped aloud at the sight of his beloved.
"Yami!"
"Aibou!"
Her heart practically radiated with warmth as the two lovers reunited, Yuugi pulling Yami into a huge hug, as if never planning to let go.
"I'm so proud of you, Aibou..." Yami smiled. "You've continued with your life to the fullest so well, and you've stayed strong. That's all I've ever wanted for you. Stay strong, stay alive, and we'll meet again someday and be together forever, but hopefully not for a long time."
"I haven't quite lived it to the fullest, Yami," He said softly. "It hasn't been with you."
The spirit grinned mischievously, reaching out a translucent arm. "Then how about we change that, and have some fun?" Yuugi took the offered arm with a smile of his own.
"Definitely."
I just pasted this in after getting it to 1k, so please tell me if you notice any mistakes, guys!
Yuugi would've spent more time with Yami, but the part with Kisara was important to the plot bunny and there wasn't enough words possible for this. Also the time was intended to be brief and you guys didn't complain back when I did ones from Mai's POV so I hope this is okay.
And I also realized I would have no time or motivation to do anything for Yuugi's birthday on the day, so towards the end of June 4th I decided that I'd write a fic which I would post exactly a week after his birthday (Intentionally). I'll be working on that soon; I have an exams on Monday and Wednesday, but I only have to be in school for those (And one 50 minute class on Monday), plus a fifty minute class on each day but friday since I'm practically done with school, so I'll have more time for this. If I can get myself to write this plot bunny, it's going to be a DM/Arc V crossover AU, because hey, what better way to motivate myself to write Puzzleshipping than to mix it with the thing I'm obsessing over too much right now? ;)
