"The bone fragments from the shattered rib cause minor injuries to her left lung and her heart. I removed the fragments from both and we have her lung re-inflated. Now it's up to her and when she wants to wake up. She is in her room now she can have two visitors at a time." The young doctor walked away from the small group after updating them on Emily's condition.

"Paige, I really don't think you should go in there with her right now." Lisa said.

"What? I have to see her." Paige said, turning to her mother.

"Your first instinct is going to be to heal her, sweaty. You can't do that now that she has had medical care. She has to heal on her own." Lisa said.

"We can't risk anyone finding out and taking you away Paige, Emily would be devistated." Pam said, placing her hand on Paige's shoulder.

"I can't just wait out here, I have to..." Paige was cut off when she saw Spencer racing up to them.

"He got away." Spencer said.

"What?" Paige asked.

"John got away. We need your help Paige." Spencer said, turning on her heals and walking out of the ER.

"Go Paige. Stop this man. Don't let him get away." Wayne said. "We will call the minute she wakes." Paige took off after Spencer, trusting that Wayne would call her when Emily woke.

"Where did he go?" Paige asked the group that was standing at the edge of the parking lot. Hanna had decided to go into the hospital and keep Paige updated on Emily and wait with her parents.

"We had him in the woods, but it turns out that he covered his arms in wolfsbane. Lucky for us, Hanna had enough acid to take care of it. But by the time we were cleaned off, he managed to sneak away." Toby said.

"Any idea where he would go Paige?" Caleb asked. Paige thought for a few minutes until it dawned on her.

"My dad!" Paige yelled, running in the direction of her house, the others close behind her. When Paige entered the yard she could make out a figure standing at the kitchen window. "He is in there. My dad is too, I can sense it."

"Alright, Spencer and Paige go in the front door, Caleb and I will take the back way in." Toby said moving to the back door with Caleb.

"You ready for this?" Spencer asked.

"He tried to take Emily from me, he doesn't get to get away with that." Paige said as her eyes flashed a golden yellow.

Opening the front door as queitly as possible, Paige and Spencer entered the living room. Looking around they saw a few spots of blood on the hardwood floor. Sniffing, Paige sighed when it didn't smell familiar. Moving to the kitchen entry they saw John standing with his gun pointed at Nick, who was tied to a chair beside the kitchen table.

"You ruined her life! You took her away from me and had her pass your genes on to a mutt!" John yelled, shoving the gun into Nick's chest. "I'll blow you away for that!"

"Bullets won't kill weres John." Nick said, seeing Paige out of the corner of his eye.

"Why do you think it killed Bobby? That bullet had wolfsbane mixed with the powder, and it was covered in it. He didn't stand a chance with that head shot. And neither will you." As John raised the gun at his last sentence Paige flew forward and knocked the gun out of his hands, a loud bang resounding in the small kitchen. Caleb and Toby came around the corner and helped Paige wrestle John to the ground. "Stupid dogs!" Those were the last words out of the old mans mouth before Nick raised the gun and shot him. Turning to look at her father, Paige saw that Nick had to been shot.

"Dad!" Paige scrambled to her fathers side. "No, no, no."

"Paige, it's ok." Nick said as Paige held his head in her lap.

"It's not ok dad. I need you, and mom needs you." Paige said as tears ran down her face.

"Your mother knows Paige. I said my goodbyes to her at the house earlier. I was never going to make it another month. But at least I got to save my baby girl." Nick said as he placed his hand on Paige's cheek.

"I still have so much for you to teach me dad." Paige whispered.

"You have Emily, Paige. You only need her in your life. And you have your gang to teach you all the things you will need to know." Nick said.

"I love you dad." Paige said, kissing his forhead.

"I love you too baby girl." Nick said in his last breath. Toby stood with his arm around Spencer as his mate cried into his shoulder. Caleb made work quietly of removing John's body from the house, carrying it far away for now. Paige layed on the floor with her father a few minutes more until the mans body reverted back into its wolf form.

"He needs to be buried in the backyard. He needs to be close." Paige whispered.

"Paige, why don't you go to the hospital with Emily, let us take care of him." Spencer suggested. Paige merely nodded her head and got up from the floor, watching as Toby picked Nicks wolf form up and walked outside with him. "Go be with your mom Paige."

When Paige arrived at the hospital she walked to the waiting room she had left over an hour ago. When she walked into the small waiting area her mother was sitting on a chair starring blankely at the floor. Paige sat down beside her mother, Lisa throwng her arm around Paige as the teenager began to cry again.

"I let go of him once before, it didn't get any easier the second time. He did this because he loves you so much. He loved us so much that he gave us two chances to be together. The first when I got sick, and the second time tonight." Lisa said.

"I'm going to miss him so much." Paige whispered.

"I will too honey." Lisa said, placing a kiss on her daughters forehead.

"Emily?" Paige asked.

"She hasn't woken up yet. I know this is going to be hard on you Paige, not being able to control your instinct to heal her. But you can't. If somebody found out about you, I can't even imagine what would happen. So, until she has been cleared by the doctors, that she doesn't need anymore check-ups, you can't have any physical contact with her. Your body will heal hers, all on its own." Lisa said. "Do you understand?"

"That is going to be really hard mom." Page said.

"I know. But it will fly by fast." Lisa said. Before she could say anything else, Pam and Wayne stepped out of her room, walking over the the McCullers.

"She is awake, and she wants to see you." Pam said, hugging Paige before taking a seat beside Lisa.

"Remember Paige, don't heal her." Lisa said.

Paige stepped into the hospital room, unnoticed by Emily, who still had her eyes closed. Paige took in how beautiful the girl was, fighting off the instinct to rush to the girl and fix her. Paige cleared her throat to get Emily's attention.

"Hey you." Emily said.

"Hey." Paige replied.

"Come over here." Emily said, lifting her fingers to wiggle them at Paige.

"I can't touch you." Paige said.

"What?" Emily asked with a smile on her face.

"I can't touch you. I can't heal you. If I touch you, my body is automatically going to heal yours, and we can't explain our way out of that." Paige said, still rooted to her spot at the door.

"I see. So you can't even come over here and sit beside me?" Emily asked, pointing to the chair by her bed. Paige slowly made her way over to the bed, stopping when she went to grab for the girls hand.

"Sorry." Paige whispered. "Habit."

"So what happened?" Emily asked. Paige recounted the story for Emily, including what had happened an hour ago.

"He saved me. Me and my mother. And now hes just gone." Paige whisperd out the last part.

"Hes not gone Paige. He, is in you. I saw so many of his qualities in you, just from the short time I knew him. Your lucky that you got a second chance with him, a short one, but so very lucky." Emily sighed out. Her injuries were beginning to make her sore and tired, as she suppresed a yawn. "I love you Paige."

"I love you too, Emily." Paige said to the girl before she fell asleep.
