Sorry for not sticking to regular updates, but I'm excited that this story is quickly approaching two hundred reviews! Thank you all so very much for reading! Please review! I like to hear your opinions.
Dear Stranger,
So apparently I'm now a freak show for all people who like torturing people. Doctor Dez, still bewildered by whatever is wrong with me, invited doctors from all around the region to come and poke and prod me and shine bright lights in my eyes.
Like I said, evil demons in scrubs.
Although I did meet another intern today. Darien brought her in, thinking that perhaps a female nurse closer to my age would help my mental state. He told me they go to the same university but she's a sophomore while he's a junior.
She shook my hand very sharply and professionally, introducing herself as Amy Mizuno. She has a British accent which I've been trying to mimic the moment she left my room. Her hair is a strange but pretty teal color and I stared at it unabashedly nearly the whole visit.
Tally Ho, old chap! T'was fascinating, my good sir. Her hair was so dearly marvelous. Such ghastly weather we are having today, don't you agree? Would you care for a cup of tea and a pastry? Or would you rather bash me over the head for these stereotypical phrases? Stereotypes aren't nice but they're also inescapable. I'm American, but that doesn't mean I'm a burger-loving, gun-wielding overweight girl who needs to get into everyone else's business. Well, I do love burgers, but that's besides the point. And if you ever say I'm overweight, my dear stranger, I will hunt you down. You did carry me here, remember. I can't be that heavy.
Although having a girl near my own age made me realize that I'm lonely. None of the people I thought were my friends have talked to me, let alone visited, since I got here. I really want a friend.
Today a young brunette woman was admitted and is staying in the other bed in my room. She has pancreatic cancer and has been staring out the window since Doctor Dez gave her the prognosis. It's really bad. She has anywhere between four and six months to live. Even worse than her approaching death is that she was supposed to be married soon to the blond man who is still sitting in a chair next to her bed like he has been for hours. It's obvious that he's so in love with her and he's so devoted to her. He's been trying to get her to talk, but she hasn't even looked at him after the short screaming match earlier that only ended because Darien silenced them.
Feeling like my heart is breaking just by watching them,
The Lone Rabbit
