Holly and Tim were waiting for their pizza to arrive. It had been about two weeks since Tim got home from Afghanistan and something was totally off about him. No sex, no cuddling, no affection, no nothing. There was finally a knock at the door so Tim went to answer it, "Hello one cheese and pepperoni pizza for Truman?"
"Cheese? It's not supposed to be cheese, it's supposed to be extra cheese," said Tim.
"Well, that's okay," said Holly, "Everyone makes mistakes."
"No it's not okay!" shouted Tim, "We asked for extra cheese, so we should get extra cheese!"
"Sir, to be honest with you I had no idea the order was wrong. I just deliver what they hand me," the delivery guy said.
Holly handed the man a twenty dollar bill and said, "Keep the change." He nodded and left, "Tim what the heck was that? That was completely irrational!"
"It wasn't irrational!" shouted Tim.
"Honey, I think you just need to eat," said Holly, though Tim tossed the pizza across the room.
"The order's wrong! I'm not eating it!" he shouted and stormed into their bedroom. ******************************************************************************
"Selfie!" shouted Chris for what Kat swore was the hundredth time that day.
"Chris," said Kat pushing him away, "When I said we should document every aspect of our honeymoon, I didn't mean every few steps."
"Hey this is paradise compared to Iraq and Afghanistan," said Chris as they continued to stroll down Oxford Street in London. They had decided to take two weeks for their honeymoon, spending a week in London with a side trip to Paris and a week in Rome, "And face it, we will be very busy several months from now."
Kat sighed and nodded. Jordan had actually been a pretty easy going baby, though it was a different story for Kat since her hormones had been all out of whack, "Hey Chris, can I talk to you about that?"
Chris scowled and said, "Yeah of course, anything."
"Well you know what Steve and I went through before and after Jordan's birth," Kat said and Chris nodded, "Just…just read up on Postpartum Depression before the baby gets here. Just in case."
"You're scared that it'll happen again aren't you?" asked Chris.
Kat nodded, "The doctor told me if it happened once it can very well happen again and be worse, and I don't want to leave anybody for something that can be treated."
Chris kissed her on the forehead and said, "I'll keep an eye on you. But can I also let Dr. Burton know in case I need to consult him?"
Kat took Chris's hand and squeezed it. They continued walking and she said, "We can tell him together. I just want to be prepared this time."
"If it's any consolation, you're a great mother and Jordan is very lucky," said Chris, "and so is this baby."
Kat chuckled lightly, knowing Chris was planning on keeping his husbandly duties going over the next several days, "Well Steve was great with Jordan, but she gets to have an incredible Stepdad and this baby gets to have a great Daddy as well." ******************************************************************************
Hector knocked on the door to Charlie and Nicole's house. Charlie opened the door, "Corporal Cruz, Gloria," she nodded.
"Charlie," Hector nodded back, "Does Captain Galassini have the baby?"
"Yeah we just finished feeding him," Charlie said.
Nicole was burping Nicholas when the Cruzes entered the living room, "Captain," Hector saluted.
Nicole nodded, "Same Corporal, though I can't exactly…"
"I got him honey," said Charlie taking the baby from Nicole. Nicole stood and saluted Hector back.
"So how's he doing? When was he born?" asked Hector.
"September 29th," said Nicole, "He's doing great."
"It's also nice to see you feeling better from what happened," said Hector.
"Thank you Corporal," said Nicole.
Everyone hear a little burp come from Nicholas and Gloria chuckled a little, "His burp is so adorable."
"It's adorable until something comes up with it," said Charlie handing Nicholas to Hector.
Hector gazed into his son's eyes. Nicholas Galassini-Mayfield was the spitting image of his Hector, "This is my son," Hector thought. he bounced Nicholas up and down a little before looking up at Gloria, wondering what had gone wrong, "I really screwed up. This shouldn't be my son with some other girl. This should be my son with Gloria," he thought, "The only good to come out of this whole mess is that Charlie and Captain Galassini get a child. And my son gets two great mothers." Hector handed the baby back to Nicole, "Thanks for letting me see him Charlie, Captain."
"Hey until I'm transferred, you can come and visit him any time you like," said Nicole.
Hector nodded, "Thank you. I appreciate it," he said, "Transfer, I never even thought about that."
"Have a good day Corporal," said Nicole saluting him.
"You too Captain, Charlie," he saluted back and left with Gloria. ******************************************************************************
"I never knew you were so great with children," said Gloria as she and Hector walked back to the car.
Hector stopped Gloria right before they got into the car and asked, "Hey Gloria, I've been thinking, since I've been home for a while, would you like to have dinner with me?"
Gloria gave a surprised look and asked, "Like a date?"
Hector shrugged, "Yeah I guess it would be a date. I just want to talk about things."
Gloria thought about it, "Pick me up from the Hump at 7." ******************************************************************************
"Good job baby. Deep breath," said Blake rubbing Tonya's arm, "Nothing is worse than an overly tense thing that nothing can cut or flow through…"
"Blake, when I'm actually in labor, I will not appreciate if you use humor to try to calm me down and keep me relaxed," scolded Tonya lightly from her horizontal position on the couch. Blake was well known for trying to make jokes when he was nervous or panicked about something and nothing was more nerve-wracking for the expectant couple than the birth of their daughter.
"How do you know? You're not in labor yet," whispered Blake softly and kissed her.
Tonya raised her eyebrows, "I will call Mom, Denise, and Emmalin and tell them to throw you out of the room if you start being Mr. Funny Man."
"Okay, fair enough," he said, "But then we need to practice to make sure I get good at not making you laugh." The phone rang and Blake went to answer it, "Major Hanson."
"Hey Major, it's Colonel Sherwood," said Frank.
"Colonel Sherwood how's the ankle?" asked Blake.
"It's getting better every day. Listen, are you and Tonya busy?" asked Frank.
"Not really, just doing labor stuff," said Blake.
"Wait Tonya's in labor? Isn't she only 28 weeks?" asked Frank.
"No practicing breathing," Blake clarified, "She's not in labor Colonel."
"Oh good. Listen, I know we got off on the wrong foot and I know we're not exactly the best of friends, but Dee and I wanted to take you out to dinner tonight. As one last date night before the baby's born. And Dee is also calling it my welcome home celebration," said Frank.
"What about Molly?" asked Tonya. Blake had put the phone on speaker and the future mother in Tonya was already kicking into full gear.
"The Holdens are all lined up to babysit," said Frank, "So what do you say?"
Blake and Tonya looked at each other and shrugged, "We'd love to join you for dinner sir," said Blake.
"Great we'll see you at seven we can take the same car," said Frank.
"Okay, see you then Frank," said Tonya. Blake hung up the phone and wrapped his arms around Tonya, "You feeling a little more confident honey?"
Tonya sighed, "Yeah humor aside, you're going to be a great coach."
Blake kissed her temple and said, "You'll be okay. All the pain will end with meeting our baby."
Tonya smiled every time she thought about their baby in her arms, "Well should we get ready for dinner Major?"
"After you mam," said Blake following his wife upstairs to change for dinner.
