Hope
Summary: After the final battle, Kagome is thrown further back into time. She is trying everything she can to get back to her friends but when all hope seems lost she restores to killing herself. The only problem is that, she can't die. Now she has to find out what quest she has to complete in order to return to her friends. Will she success or will she fail?
Chapter 53: Protect or Show?
The travel back to the palace was awkward and silent. Kagome look out of the window to keep her eyes from wondering over the young lord. Her mind keeps racing and telling her that this is a bad idea. Her hands fidget in her lap as she tries to calm herself down from the overwhelming feeling of escaping. The carriage came to a stop, a growl escapes Toga's throat as he opens the door to get out. Kagome turns her head to see the silver of his hair leaving the carriage in a swirl, the sounds of metal clashing was follow shortly after. Kagome sense a strong demonic energy making her get out to help in the fight.
"Why protect that traveling miko?" a hissing voice draws out in front of the carriage. Kagome sees a snake demon holding twin katana in each hand, his green scales look like a smooth stone as its tail bares spikes on the tip. Kagome senses high evil energy coming from the snake youkia in front of them, its making the hairs on the back of her neck stand on ends.
Something about this seems very off, like it's a setup of sorts. Toga turns towards Kagome and leaps over her to slash through a small snake demon, others start to appear out of nowhere "Having such power could only corrupt you further, Lord of the West. Let me get rid of such unworthy filth." The little snakes sprang into action, "Please Milord step back, let me deal with this." Kagome spoke calmly towards Toga.
