It took a few minutes to fish out Ash's clothes, which turned out to be bundled together with come of May's. Ash had pulled his clothes on and had spent the last few minutes, for lack of a better word, preening.

"Ash" she sighed as she flopped back on the bed, her head millimetres from Pikachu's. Who was sitting on her bed staring down at her. She didn't receive much of a verbal answer, just a small grunt of acknowledgement. Rolling her eyes up at the Pikachu she smirked at his confused tilt of the head. "Could you use English please?" She asked, joking

"Fine, what is it May" the way he spoke was similar to a petulant child

"Are you done yet?"

"Yeah, come on then lass. Let's get going. We bringing Pikachu with us?" Ash asked as he leaned over the lying girls face.

"I don't know. I suppose we have to, I can't leave him here can I? What if Max comes back up? Or worse, my parents. I don't want to send them to the mad house yet." Pushing herself up she rested on her arms, waiting for Ash to move back. Once he did she sat straight and pulled Pikachu around to face her.

"I know what you mean May. How about we find something to put him in?" Ash suggested as he crouched down to look at Pikachu. Laughing softly as a small yellow hand reached out and touched his face.

"Like what? Your bag?" She asked, joking, not noticing the thoughtful look cross Ash's face.

"Why not?" He asked, earning a bewildered look from May.

"'Why not?'" She reiterated "why not?' How about no because he could suffocate in there"

"We wouldn't have to close the bag. If we zip it half up and keep him quiet we can get him out of here and down to the woods." Ash explained, working it out as he went along. May paused for a moment, looking at Pikachu. He was very quiet. A few seconds while they snuck out of the house wouldn't be difficult for him. Hopefully.

"I suppose, I mean I'm not saying we'll use it. Maybe we just try it out first. See if he'll fit in, then see if he wants to stay in" May answered, ensuring nothing could go wrong. She knew Ash well and knew he was rather rash. Never thinking things through properly and always thinking the best case scenario was the only one.

"Alright." He agreed tipping his bag upside down, the contents spilling out over the floor. Some random pen rolling under her bed.

"Why didn't you empty it on me bed?" She asked through gritted teeth. They'd never be able to find everything. And Ash's answer infuriated her more than anything. He gave her a small shrug.

"I donno?" He answered shaking his bag to make sure everything was gone. And with the dropping of a rubber it was.

"You don't know?" She asked through gritted teeth, trying to control her anger. Sometimes Ash infuriated her.

"No, but come on, don't look so upset. Pass him over and put him inside here." He told her as he held open his bad. Looking as though he expected the brunette to just drop Pikachu inside.

"You're kidding, right?" She asked, hoping he was

"What? What's the problem?" He asked instead, not understanding what was wrong.

"You don't think he won't particularly like that. Maybe we should ask, or, I don't know. Let him do it on his own accord?" She asked, lifting Pikachu up and letting him see inside the bag. He pulled a face as he looked inside, turning to silently ask her what she was thinking.

"What's wrong with him?"

"Maybe he doesn't like closed off spaces or maybe he doesn't want to be in your smelly bag?" She posed as she seating him on her lap.

"My bag isn't smelly; I sprayed it with deodorant last night." He argued, his point not very strong thanks to the added revelation.

"Thanks for telling me that Ash. But still maybe he doesn't like it." Looking down at him she tried to work out what his expression meant. "We could try lowering him in slowly and see how he reacts. If he doesn't like it we'll take him out we just need to know if it's the bag itself or the small space."

Ash nodded his head as he lowered the bag to her level. Allowing her to pick him up and place him inside the bag. As she lowered him in he pulled his legs in towards his chest and stared at the brunette with wide black eyes.

"Hey look, he looks a little freaked out" Ash noted as he smirked down at the pokemon watching as he was lowered into the empty bag.

She nodded, he did look a little freaked.

"Yeah, maybe we shouldn't do this, he is only a baby."

"No, I'm sure he'll be fine. As you said, we'll take him out if he doesn't like it" nodding she lowered him the rest of the way, watching as he stared at the fabric that kept creeping up higher on his body. He didn't make any protests just looked a little bewildered.

As soon as his pulled in legs touched the bottom of the bag she released him and watched as his small yellow hands grabbed at the corner of the bag to stabilise himself.

"Well, he's not having a heart attack, that's good" Ash noted, trying to lighten the mood, he could see May was worried that they'd scare him and was trying to get at least a smile from her. She did give him a small flicker of her lip, but that was all.

"It's alright" she soothed, as she scratched his head. Pikachu nodded at her softly, his head tilted to the side slightly as he silently asked why he was in a bag. "You need to stay in there for a while, ok? And stay quiet too. We need to take you outside but we can't if you're seen. Can you stay quiet for us while we go out?"

He seemed to understand what she was saying and nodded his head softly.

"Good" she smiled at him, she couldn't believe he understood. From what she'd seen yesterday she knew that these pokemon could understand people but human babies couldn't understand a thing till they were at least four. Apparently these creatures were smarter than humans to understand things as new-borns.

Pushing herself to her feet she took Ash's bag.

"Come on, let's go now" she told him, walking straight to the door zipping the bag up halfway as she walked. Pulling open the door she flicked the light off.

"Alright, I'm coming, slow down a little will you? There's no rush" he ran to catch up with the girl who was already starting her way down the stairs. Pulling the door closed as he did. He was fairly sure there was nothing in there that pointed to Pikachu but best not to give her parents a chance to go snooping around in her room. Or to clean it.

"There is a rush, now come on, we have to go somewhere" she called back, passing the room with her family in and sticking her head inside. "Ash and I are going out for a bit, don't touch anything in my room I'll be back in a few hours. Hopefully"

She moved from the door before they could question her on the 'hopefully'. She waited by the door for Ash who was pulling his shoes on. He looked quite comical as he came down the stairs struggling to pull on the shoes which were clearly too small for him.

"Come on Ash" she rushed as she opened the door spotting one yellow ear sticking out of the open side of the bag.

"But I'm not finished yet." He whined, his head still down. Unable to see the pokemon's ear

"It doesn't matter, you can finish while we're walking, at least you're not in pyjamas anymore."

The boy finally glanced up and saw why his friend was rushing him so much and a streak of panic crossed his face.

"Yeah, I'm sure I'll be fine"

It took no more than thirty seconds before they finally got out the house.

"Will you please put his ear back in the bag?" He hissed at the brunette as they pulled the door closed.

"Alright, God Ash" she sighed as she tucked his ear back in, hearing a muffled.

"Pikka" in protest

"Sorry, but I can't risk anyone seeing you. We'll get you out of there soon, I promise" she whispered to the bag, more than grateful that no one was watching. It wouldn't do if she was known as the girl who talked to inanimate objects.

"Pikka" he answered, and surprisingly the tone was one of understanding.

"He's a smart baby" Ash noted as he turned to look down the road. "Come on then, let's go into the woods. To search for these psychos"

Rolling her eyes the brunette didn't argue and silently followed behind. She wasn't sure what they were going to find but felt it'd be best if Ash went first.
