Sitting in the back of the car she fidgeted, constantly readjusting the top of her bag. Fearful a glassy eye was peeking through, or a black tipped ear was poking through, just about to be seen.

"May, sit still will you? I've already had to give you money and packed dinner."

"Mum, I'm not trying to, I'm just-"

"Anxious to see Ash" Max cut in, grinning.

"Shut up"

"You didn't deny it."

"Max! Stop!" She shouted, frustration getting the better of her.

"Fine, no need to get whiny"

"God" placing her hand to her forehead she sighed, rubbing at her temple to try and unwind. Her brother could be irritating, and lord knows she wants to slap him. Her bag shuffled at her complaint. Making her snap up and settle her hand on it.

"What's wrong?" Max asked, glancing at her with a mix of worry and confusion. Smirking sheepishly she settled herself back on her seat, though she didn't remove her hand.

"Nothing, my-uh bag was falling over" she lied, hoping he'd believe her. She had no other excuse, he had to believe it.

"Oh, alright. You're acting strange today." He told her, pushing his glasses further up his face.

"I am? I never even realised. I'm just a little nervous, I guess" she mentally chastised herself. Great, what a perfect thing to tell her little brother.

"Why're you nervous May?"

"No reason. School, y'know"

"No, I don't believe I do" a smirk was playing on his lips.

"W-well, homework and all" she cheered herself now. "Yeah, I have overdue homework" Max's smile dropped quite considerably.

"I-is that it?"

"Yeah, I forgot to do my homework and I might get detention for it." She was making it up as she went along but it seemed they believed her.

"Honestly May, you've been in your room all weekend, you have plenty of time to get it done."

"Like I said, I forgot." She was mentally smirking, at least she'd found a suitable lie. And it was true too. Though she had intentionally forgotten that.

"I don't know what I'm going to do with you sometimes May."

"I didn't mean to" her eyes flitted down towards the small opening in her bag allowing her passenger to breath. She'd thought she'd seen a small glassy eye.

"I know, still, be sure to get it done for tomorrow. Bring it in then."

"I will" lifting her bag she pretended it was as light as air. Though really the baby was heavy, maybe he should have been out exercising rather than locked in her room eating berries and whatever he could steal from her plate. Settling it on her lap she wrapped her arms around the bag, holding the pokemon in place.

"What're you doing May? You look like you're cuddling it."

"What? Am I not allowed to hold my bag? Is it against the law? Why's it so interesting what I'm going? God, you're so nosy Max" turning her head from him she huffed, and if she could she would have folded her arms over her chest.

"Wow May, don't be so touchy." The younger boy stated, shocked.

"I'm not touchy."

The conversation ended there, Max not daring to retort in case his sister snapped at him once more for a simple observation.

As the car pulled into the drive at school May slipped out, waving bye to Max and her mother. Keeping her bag pressed to her chest she whispered to the small pokemon.

"Don't move and don't make a sound. I don't need people at school believing I'm insane, explaining away the squeak was bad enough." She told him, walking into the building as calmly as she could. Though she was gaining strange looks, almost like she had a bomb strapped to her chest.

"Pikka" he complained, thankfully though the noises of the school shielded his abnormal language.

"Shh, don't 'pikka'. Please don't. I need to find Ash, Pikachu please be quiet" She whispered to the bag, looking like she was mumbling to herself.

"Hey, May!" A male voice from behind called, and spinning in her spot she came eye to eye with Brock. The tall boy had a wide grin on his face, his seemingly closed eyes seeing very well as he navigated the full hall. Swallowing her fear of Pikachu vocalising himself she raised a hand, waving back at the running male.

"Hi Brock" she greeted, not risking releasing her bag for even a second to give him a small wave.

"What the hell is in that bag May? It looks like it's gonna explode." The elder teen noted, smiling all the while.

"What? Nothing, nothing's in here. Definitely not a bomb, I mean, that'd be stupid. Absurd" she was smiling a little creepily. Though her nervousness made her seem suspicious.

"Ok, you don't have a bomb do you?" He laughed softly.

"No, course not"

"May, what're you doing?" She sighed in relief, it was Ash, thank God.

"Ash, oh nothing. It's just that, uh, can you hold this for a second." Holding out the bag she didn't give him much choice, and of course, Ash complied.

"Ok" taking the offered object he almost dropped it, stifling a gasp at how heavy it was. "God May, what's in here?" As he gave a small laugh he felt the bag move, his heart stopping. He knew exactly what was in there.

"Uh, you know" she offered in way of explanation. And Ash was sure he knew. Staring at the stretched material he peeked through, coming face to face with a confused pokemon.

"Yeah, I do." Thinking quickly he decided it best to keep him away from Brock. "Uh, May, I'm gonna borrow this for a minute" not giving May a chance to answer he ran, already knowing she'd comply.

"Am I missing something?" Brock asked thoroughly confused.

"No, don't worry about it. Come on, let's get going, lessons are going to start soon."

"We have half-May!" He yelled, reaching out to grab the girl as she walked away. But he missed, grumbling to himself. "God dammit" he cursed, "I'm really missing something"

Ash locked himself in the boy's toilet, leaning against the door breathing heavily.

"Pikka?" The bag asked, a small glassy eye visible through the small opening.

"Pikachu, what the hell is going on? I didn't think May would actually bring you."

"Pikka pi" he answered, his language lost to Ash though he was fairly sure the pokemon was just as confused as he was.

"God, you're heavy Pikachu, you know that?" The mouse rolled his eyes, clearly not pleased with the comment nor the situation.

Ash unzipped the bag, giving the baby more room, which he gladly took.

"I don't know what to do." He admitted, looking the child in the eye. "I'm stuck Pikachu, we should have come with a more defined plan. We only have a basic one."

"Pikka" he answered, staring up at Ash with sympathetic eyes.

"Don't pity me. Now, shall we hide you?" He shook his head. "Well, what shall we do?" He shrugged this time. "You're impossible. Look, I'm not having a lot of screaming and fainting people. You have to stay here."

"Pikka!" He argued, his voice loud making Ash fear of being heard.

"Ok, ok!" He tried to placate "Ok! You can come. Just please be quiet." The small pokemon smiled, giving Ash a nod this time. "You will be the reason I never have kids." He told him, pushing his head down as softly as his frustration would allow and re-zipping the bag.

"Pikka pi"

"Be quiet" he sighed in annoyance, hanging the bag over his shoulder and leaving his relative safety, letting himself be immersed in the slowly dwindling crowd outside. "Did we miss the bell?"

"Yes" someone answered, he couldn't see who, they'd passed him before he could catch a look at their face. Still, at least he had an answer.

"Ok" he added drawing the word out, not knowing why, probably to voice his confusion. Giving a shrug of his shoulders he followed after the crowd. Already knowing he was gaining strange looks at his two bags.

He didn't care though, he knew that May would want Pikachu back. Despite his wish to keep them all safe by locking him away in a cupboard bringing him food and water at dinner and break, he knew that wasn't a possibility from her attachment with him.

"If I'm dubbed as insane I'm blaming you."

"Pikka" the pokemon replied, sounding bored. He didn't care too much that he was speaking to him in the open, most had gone to their lessons and the ones that remained were exceedingly loud.

As he walked he glanced into each room, not knowing why, he was just trying to prolong the wait.

Outside the school, sitting in one of the many trees the trio stared down, following the boy as he walked.

"Meowth, that's the brat from the woods, yes?" James asked, squinting in the morning sun striking them in the face.

"Yeah, that looks like him. I think he's talking to himself. Losing it already" the cat informed as he laughed quietly to himself at the thought of the boy dropping into insanity after a few days.

"Perfect, we've found him, now we can grab him grab the pokemon kill them and get back before the boss knows we're gone" Jessie summarised, a smile spreading across his face.

"Can't do that."

"Why not?" She complained, staring at the pokemon.

"Cos we can't. Too many humans, they'll cause an uproar. The boss is sure to find out."

"Then we go in disguise." She decided, sitting up straight and staring down at the late arrivals.

Everyone had already entered bar three people, a boy, girl and a small boy. A smile spread across her face.

"Perfect."
