For almost two weeks now Dean Smith has woken up at 5 am, showered, eaten breakfast, gotten in his Prius and made it to work for 8 am. It was a routine life but he liked it. Make a few calls and have a few meetings, he was good at what he did.

This morning was slow and he was just typing up a memo to send out. He had finished and when he read it over he noticed something not right. He pressed the pager button on his office phone. " Clara could you come in here for a moment." he asked his secretary. Within seconds she knocked on the door and walked in.

Not that he would ever notice but his secretary was very good at her job. At the office before him, ready with his coffee and anything he needed done. She got things on time and she was quick when it came to last minute things. She was quiet and it was always "Yes Mr. Smith." She didn't mind her job either but she always thought she would be doing something else.

No taller than an average women, loose blonde curls and dark brown eyes. She was pretty but she never thought so. Usually dressed in black dress pants and a button up blouse that never showed off more than her neck, Clara was simple and kind. She walked in and Dean looked up at her.

"Would you read this over. Something doesn't look right." He said pushing his chair over.

"Sure." She smiled walking over and stood behind him reading quickly. "Sir, you spelled Achievement wrong. There isn't an N before the M." She pointed out and he fixed. "oh and it's the 26th not the 20th." She smiled and he smiled back.

"Thank you." He nodded.

"Anything else you need sir?" She asked standing at the door.

"Just the files I asked for last nigh." he nodded not looking her way.

"On the top of the files you asked for today." She said.

Dean looked up and saw the stack of files he had asked for. "Wonderful." he nodded.

"I'm gonna go get some coffee, you want any?" She asked before she left.

"No I'm good. Thank you." He continued to type. Clara smiled and closed the door behind her.

Going all the way down to Tech support for coffee was a bit unnecessary but Clara always had a coffee break with Sam and Ian. They were sweet and made her laugh. Sam had started the same time as her and she didn't even know he was friends with her brother until Danny came to visit a few days ago.

When she made it down to the Tech floor all she could hear were phones. She actually hated that noise, after answering all of Mr. Smith's calls first it got annoying. "Clara!" Ian spotted her first. She smiled in their direction.

"Hey you two." I smiled pointing to their staff room. They followed and I got them coffee. "So what's on the list tonight?" She asked looking to Ian who was busy stuffing pencils in his pocket. "Ian." she laughed.

"Oh I know!" Ian smiled. "Any new dreams?" he asked Sam.

"Oh yeah." Clara smiled. "I love those stories."

"Why so you can make fun of them?" Sam asked them.

"No!" Ian smiled.

"We promise this time." Clara crossed her heart.

Sam sighed and rolled his eyes. "Fine. I dreamt I saved a reaper named Tessa from Demons." Sam said just waiting for them to laugh. Ian was first to laugh. "See. Dick." Sam shook his head.

"Well I for one think it's cool." Clara smiled. "Beats a dreamless sleep or..." She paused and looked down. She looked up at the time quickly. "Oh I gotta go." She tried to leave.

"Or what Clara?" Sam asked as Ian snuck out to pay games on his computer.

"It's nothing. Just a stupid dream..." She sighed.

"Like mine?" he asked.

"Well not really." she sighed.

"Well then what!" Sam almost yelled at her.

"There are these big black dogs, and sometimes they are invisible... they just keep chasing me. And there is this guy always in the corner. Dark hair but he glows, like a bright light." I sighed. "Stupid I know."

"No, it's kinda nice to know I'm not the only one." Sam shrugged.

"Well it's nothing like vampires and demons." she smiled at him. "Well I should get back." She turned.

"We still good for tomorrow night?" Sam called after Clara.

"Yeah Danny is coming to get me and we'll meet you." She smiled and headed back to her desk. When she got back to her desk she sat down and continued with her day. It was a quick day and when Mr. Smith called for her close to quitting time she knew she had more work to do. It was six and he left at six thirty. She sighed and walked into his office. "Yes?" She asked.

"Would you run these down to tech services before you leave." he handed her a stack of memos."

"Sure." She took them and started to walk away. Clara sat at her desk finishing her work up and before she knew it the clock read six thirty. Just as she looked up Mr. Smith locked his office door and walked around her desk. "Have a good night Mr. Smith." She said as he walked by typing on his blackberry.

"You too." he didn't look up. She always hated when managers or anyone for that matter spoke without looking at her. It was demeaning. Oh well, she just ignored it. When 7 O'clock came around she figured she would run the memos to tech and then leave. She was tired and she had to be here earlier tomorrow if she wanted to leave early.

She made her way down the dark floor and sighed when she heard someone still typing. She looked around and noticed one of the techs, Paul at his desk. The light shined on his angry and concerned face. She placed the memos down and walked over.

"Hey Paul." she smiled. "What are you still doing here?" She asked leaning on his cubical wall.

"Working." he snapped. Paul never snapped at people he was always so sweet.

"It's late you should get some-"

"I can't!" He yelled typing away. She stepped back a bit. "I gotta get this work done!" he yelled at her. "Now go away!" He got louder.

"Ok." She stuttered and walked quickly away. She had no idea what had gotten into him but she didn't want to be around someone so touchy.

Clara made her way home and when she got there she just went to bed. She was really dreading getting up even earlier. She had managed to put the memos on the wrong desk and she sighed. She didn't want to go back there if Paul was still working so she would get there around 7 and place them on the right desk.

5 am came early and all Clara had energy for was a high ponytail, some makeup and a skirt and blouse. When she got to the office it was quiet. She walked to her desk putting her purse down and forcing a smile to anyone who passed her. Today was supposed to be a good day but she had a bad feeling about it.

The tech floor was empty except for a few early workers. She found the right desk to put the memos on. She was about to leave when she noticed the smell of something burning. She looked around and didn't see anything on fire until she looked in the staff room and her body froze in shock and fear.

Sam had just walked into work when he noticed the smell of burning flesh. Then he saw the terrified and shocked look on Clara's face. "Oh god." She managed to whisper out.

"Clara?" Sam raced to her.

"Oh my- Some body call for help!" Sam yelled out when he saw what Clara saw.

Paul's lifeless body hanging from the counter. His head jammed in the microwave and blood splattered everywhere. He looked over to Clara who hadn't moved much less blinked since he walked over. He reached for her hand and she he took it she took a deep breath. She backed away quickly just as the paramedics and others from all over the building joined the tech floor.

Dean had heard about an accident down on tech and went to go see what was going on. He had just walked in and before he opened the door it was like something was missing. He looked around and noticed Clara was not at her desk. Which was weird. She was always here waiting with his coffee.

When he got down to tech services he looked around the crowd and noticed the guy who had ambushed him with questions in the elevator last night. He had not noticed him but when he saw the look on his face as he talked to someone Dean thought something bad must have happened.

Clara couldn't believe what she was seeing. There was so much blood and she was terrified. The paramedics had started to take Paul out of the microwave when Sam reached for her hand. She looked up and took a few steps back. "Holy crap." She breathed out.

"Clara?" Sam asked looking at her. " You alright?" He asked placing two hands in her shoulders so she could fall back.

"Why would he-" She paused.

"Who found the body?" A police officer asked walking down from the hall.

Dean was standing with other managers when a police officer walked past him. "I need to speak with whoever found the body." He called out again. That guy that had ambushed him stood up and someone walked out from behind me.

" I did." Her voice was shaky. Dean almost didn't recognize his own assistant. She looked so shocked and scared.

"How was the body when you found it?" The officer asked Clara and she looked up at him with Sam at her side.

"Hung over the counter..." She paused trying not to freak out. "Head in the microwave and..." She crossed her arms. "Blood everywhere." She sighed looking around avoid all the eyes that were on her.

"Did you notice anything strange about this man's behaviour?" he asked.

Sam and Clara exchanged looks. "He had acted a bit on edge." Sam spoke up.

"And last night when I said he should go home he yelled at me. Completely freaked out." Clara said moving closer to Sam as they wheeled the body out.

Dean watched the officer question Clara and the other guy. She seemed to know him. How? And why did he care all of a sudden who Clara knew. Dean shook his head when the body came around. "Any of this seem weird to you?" He asked a fellow manager.

"Yeah all of it." One answered.

"I'm never eating popcorn again." Another answered.

Dean looked around and the officer questioning Clara had moved on to the scene and Clara was looking around quickly. She looked really freaked out and Dean felt the need to comfort her. He had no idea why but he had to. He began to walk over to her when that guy grabbed her in his arms and hugged her. She latched onto him quickly and it looked like she was holding on for dear life. Dean backed off and when he let go of Clara he looked up and he made eyes contact.

Sam noticed how scared Clara was and when he hugged her he knew she thanked him for it. When the commotion had clam down and everyone slowly made it back to work Clara took a deep breath. "Well I should get back to my desk. I don't think this is exactly gonna stop the work on 22." Clara smiled pushing her bangs back.

"You alright?" Sam asked.

"Yeah I'll be fine." She sighed. "Hell of a day."

Once she started walking away Sam remembered something. "Hey!" He said walking back over to her. "Happy Birthday." He smiled hugging her again.

"Oh right." She laughed. "Thanks." She sighed as she made her way back up stairs.

Clara always hated her birthday but Danny always made it a big deal. He was coming by later pick her up. He wanted to take her out for dinner then him, Sam and their other friends were taking her out for drinks. Clara being as quiet as she was never made friends easily but Danny's friends all liked her. She wasn't as annoying as other girls, they would say.

Clara's mind couldn't shake the image of Paul. He was a sweet guy and only two weeks from retirement. Why would he do something like that? "Hey?" a deep voice brought her out of her trans. She was waiting for the elevator when the voice made her jump a bit. When she looked to her right Mr. Smith was standing there looking down concerned. "Are you alright?" he asked with a sad expression.

"Oh. Yeah I'm fine." She nodded looking away.

"You sure? I mean what happen was pretty awful." He sighed.

"Yeah it is." Clara shook her head. " I just don't understand."

"No one really understands why someone kills themselves." He offered to her.

"Yeah but he was two weeks away from freedom." She laughed a bit as they both got on the elevator. In the three weeks she had worked for Mr. Smith this is the longest conversation they had ever had.

"Freedom?" He asked pressing the 22 button.

"Retirement." She corrected herself. Dean was quiet. That was weird.

"Seriously?" He asked her and she sighed.

"Yeah." She shook her head. "I just don't get it. A few days ago he was the sweetest guy. Then last night..." She sighed as they both got off the elevator.

"What happened last night?" He asked before he walked into his office.

"He flipped out started yelling at me..." She paused. "He just wasn't himself."

"You friends with all of tech support?" Dean chuckled a bit.

"No." She shook her head with a small smile. "They are just easier to talk to then managing partners." She looked away. "More my type of people." She shrugged with a sigh sitting down.

"And that guy who was with you... The tall one. He's your type?" He asked and she looked up.

Mr. Smith never asked her questions that didn't have anything to do with work. She didn't know if it was sweet or weird. She smiled. "Yeah I guess." She shrugged and he looked at her.

"Didn't know you had a boyfriend." Dean said to himself as he was about to walk in his office.

"I don't." Clara laughed. He turned. "Sam is just a friend. Plus no offence Sir but why do you care?" She asked.

"I don't know." He narrowed his eyes a bit with a smile.

As the day went on Clara tried to focus on work but that image kept coming back. Anytime someone would call or talk to her she would jump. When 5 o'clock came she knew Danny would be here soon. She sighed as she stood. She knocked on the office door and Mr. Smith called her in.

"Sir?" She asked and he was busy typing away. "I was wondering if it would be possible if I could go home early." She asked in a quiet tone and he looked up to her.

Dean had no idea what it was but he just smiled. " Yeah sure. You've had a long day. Go home and get some rest." He nodded.

"Really?" She asked with a big smile.

"Yeah." Dean nodded.

"Well thank you. Have a good night Sir." She nodded and left the office. She smiled and when she grabbed her purse she turned and saw the biggest smile on Danny's face.

"Clara!" He almost yelled. She jumped a bit and he raced over to her. He was wearing nice dark jeans, a button up shirt and a leather jacket. "Happy birthday lil' sis!" He laughed squeezing her tightly.

"Will you quiet down." She laughed pushing him off her as they walked toward the elevator. "A man died today." She sighed.

"No shit?" he laughed. "How?" He asked as they got in the elevator.

"Put his head in the microwave." She said sternly.

"Jesus." Danny shook his head.

"Yeah exactly." She sighed. "By the way what is with the nice clothes?" She asked.

"What I can't look good?" he laughed as they made their way back to her place.

"Yeah sure but... oh I get it." Clara smiled walking into her apartment. "You wanna hook up with someone later." She rolled her eyes.

"Well that may be so but we gotta get you someone first!" Danny smiled.

"What!" Clara laughed throwing a pillow at him as he got a beer from her fridge.

"Oh come on Clara! It's been months since that jerk Jason left you at the alter. And this unhealthy attraction to your stuck up boss.."

"Will you shut up!" She threw another pillow at him. "I'm not attracted to Mr. Smith." She shook her head.

"OH please!" He laughed. "If there is one thing I know about you Clara is you like tough guys, that are paid well and are easy on the eyes." Danny rolled his eyes as he sat down. "Now get your butt in that shower, put something nice on so we can enjoy tonight!" He yelled at her as she made her way to her room.

Clara hated that her brother was right. Him and her had always been close but when she was going to get married Danny told her Jason was no good and she freaked out on him. Sure enough he was right. Left her standing at the alter. No note but when she saw him in the city with his old girlfriend she knew she had to move. So she packed up and came here getting a job as an assistant. She mended things with her brother and ever since they'd been best friends.

Some black heels, a dark red dress and some extra makeup made her look even more beautiful than normal. She curled her hair a bit and didn't want to leave her room. "This is stupid!" She called and she heard him huff.

"Do I have to come in there and drag your ass out?" He laughed. When she walked out he could never be more proud of her. She was so pretty and she didn't even know it. " Damn." he laughed. " You look really nice." He said. "Now, Shall we go?" He asked. She didn't look happy but she would be eventually.

That night was actually fun. She had forgotten all about what happened at the office earlier. Sam had let it go too. He seemed happy and everyone around Clara was having a good time. Danny was talking up a blonde and Sam was talking to a sweet red-head. Clara sat alone for just a second before her phone rang. She walked outside and answered. "Hello?"

"Clara? It's Dean look I hate to do this but I need your help." He sounded stressed.

"With what?" She asked.

"I may have broken something and now the freaking computer won't do it's thing." He sighed. "please?" he asked.

"I'll be right there." She shook her heard with a smile. When she walked back inside she told Danny and Sam she had to go back to work. They weren't happy about it but she just kissed both their cheeks, thanked them for a good night and left.

She wanted to go home and change but her apartment was out of the way and she was honestly to tired now to care. It was dark when she walked into the building. She made it up to the 22nd floor and saw the light on in Mr. Smith's office.

"Seriously?" She heard him sigh. She put her purse down on her desk as she walked over.

"Sir?" She asked knocking on the door.

Dean turned quickly and had to take a second to see who was at the door. " Holy crap." he thought he said in his mind but it came out his mouth. "I mean, hi." He cleared his throat. What was it about a pretty dress and some heels made a women he had worked with everyday look so beautiful.

"Hi." She smiled at him. "What happened?" She asked when she noticed papers all over the floor and the printer making an annoying beeping noise.

Dean was quiet for a second as she walked in. "I uh... I have no idea." He sighed shaking his head. As she walked toward him he couldn't help but look at her. She stopped before she got to the printer and looked back. Dean quickly looked down.

She really should have just gone back home to change. She could feel Mr. Smith's eyes on her and it was both weird and flattering. She smiled his way when he looked down. She looked around the room and first fixed the computer. Sam had taught her a few things about the office tech and how to fix it.

When she was done the printer was still making a noise. She got up quickly and walked over to the power outlet. She she noticed how far down it was she looked Dean's way. "Um.. Could you unplug it." He looked at her funny. "I can't bend over or else this will rip." She sighed her cheeks feeling hot all of a sudden.

She heard a bit of a laugh come from Dean as he walked over and did as she asked. "Sorry." he apologized for laughing. He didn't stop and she just looked at him. "If you didn't want your clothes to rip off then why didn't you go with something more..." he stopped himself.

"This wasn't my idea." She sensed his nervousness. She laughed a bit. "My brother thought it would be good for me to go out." She rolled her eyes as she sat back down and rebooted the computer. "Go out, have a good time... blah blah." She sighed rolling her eyes as the screen came back on.

"My sister is like that too. Always on my back." He smiled and so did Clara. "What was the occasion?" He asked as she stood and he sat typing in his password.

"My birthday actually." She sighed as she walked away from the desk.

"wow." He stopped typing and looked up. "No offence but you have bad luck with birthdays." he joked.

"Oh believe me, I know." She sighed.

"Well I'm sorry I ruined your plans." Dean stood.

"That's okay. I wasn't having all that much fun watching people get hit on." She laughed.

"Just watching?" He laughed. "I find that hard to believe." Why did he say that? "Someone like you, should have someone to go home to." He looked away.

Clara smiled. "Wow." Dean looked to her. "That is the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me." She sighed. "And bonus you just made my day." She giggled a bit.

"Well I'm glad." He smiled back. She was about to turn away when he stopped her. "Wait." She paused and looked back. "Would you like a drink?" He asked walking over to a cupboard. "Least I can do for interrupting your plans."

She smiled. " Sure. Why not." She shrugged. It was still early. But Clara couldn't help but find it odd Mr. Smith was so forward all of a sudden. He handed her a glass. " Thank you." She smiled as they both drank.

"I don't mean to pry but... is there a reason you don't... have someone to go home too?" he asked as they sat down in the chairs in front of the desk.

"Well there used to be a reason but now I don't know." She shrugged. "Just sorta gave up I guess."

"Who's the dumbass?" He asked and she looked at him. How did he know there was someone. "If I have learned anything from having a little sister. It's that there is always some jerk behind a pretty girl's sad eyes."

She laughed a bit. "I don't know if that is an insult or not." Dean shrugged and just waited for an answer. "His name was Jason. Big shot at a well paid law firm."

"God he even sounds like a jerk." Dean smiled.

"Well he wasn't." She shifted. "He was sweet and he was one of those guys that could always make someone laugh no matter what. Real stand up guy." She sighed taking a drink.

"Until?" Dean asked.

"Until last month." She rolled her eyes.

"What happened last month?" Dean was really interested in knowing.

"He decided he didn't want to marry me." She answered quickly. "The band, food, the dress, everything was paid for." She sighed.

"Please don't say he decided that morning..." Dean sighed.

"No." Clara shook her head. Dean sighed in relief but then Clara changed her answer. "An hour before actually." She let off a little laugh. His eyes were so big and his mouth dropped a bit.

"Jez... I'm sorry." Dean sighed.

"Yeah you, me and about 300 other people." She shrugged.

"Well I'll tell you one thing Clara." He smiled putting his drink down and looking at her. "Jason, was an idiot." Dean smiled. "Some men are to blind to see a good thing when it is standing right in front them. That made her smile.

It was a strange night. Dean and Clara stayed in the office for a few more hours just talking. Why they all of a sudden had a connection, neither of them knew or wanted to question it. Plus it was nice not having to work for a stranger anymore. Dean made sure Clara stopped calling him Mr. Smith and when she left that night he had a smile on.

The next morning when Clara was at her desk Dean smiled at her and she smiled back handing him coffee and following him into his office. She handed him some files. "Can you call one of the tech support guys up here?" He asked.

"Which one there are like fifty." She smiled.

Dean handed her a folder and she smiled. "Oh Ian is gonna love this." She said to herself as she turned.

"What?" Dean asked.

"Oh nothing. Talking to myself." She smiled back.

"He Clara?" he called her back into before she could leave."

"Yes?" She asked turning around.

When Clara looked back Dean stood and looked up and seemed a bit nervous. "I was just wondering if you were doing anything tonight?" he asked looking down then back at her.

"No why? Do you need me to stay late again?" She asked with a kind smile.

"No, it's not that." He smirked a bit. "Just wanted to know if you would consider having dinner with me?" he asked. Clara wanted to smile brightly but she held it back. She looked down then back up at her nervous boss. Her not answering made him stutter. "If your busy it's no big deal-"

"No." She stopped him from taking it back. "I would love to." She smiled.

"Really?... I mean great." He nodded sitting back down and started typing trying to look busy and not shy. She giggled at him.

"I'll get Ian in here for you." She smiled walking to her desk. Where that came from she had no idea but he was sweet so why not go out. She sighed picking up the phone.

"Tech support this is Ian." His tone was flat and not usual.

"Wow that was professional." She laughed a bit. "Can you come up here for a minute. My boss what's to talk to you." She said.

"Be right up." he said then hung up.

When she hung up the phone she got a weird feeling. Ian didn't even sound like himself. She waited a few minutes and when Ian came up the hallway he didn't even look like Ian. "Oh my god." She laughed and he looked at her. "Your wearing the uniform." She said. Ian said nothing he just headed for the door. "okay then." She sighed going back to her work.

Ian wasn't even in Dean's office for three minutes before Clara could hear him panicking. She stood quickly. "Oh no... No NO." His voice got a bit louder. "I am so sorry." It sounded like he was crying. Clara stood up and headed to the door. When she got there Ian's body was shaking and Dean looked confused.

"Hey, Ian? Why don't you just calm down." Dean tried to get him to calm down.

"Ian?" She asked stepping in.

"I failed the company." he muttered. "no." He shook his head.

"Ian are you alright?" She asked but it was like he didn't even hear either of them.

"Ian why don't you sit down." Dean stood quickly.

Ian turned around quickly looking scared and upset. he started running for the door and pushed Clara into the wall moving her from his way. "Jesus." She swore hitting the wall with force.

Ian took off down the hall. Before Dean went after him he stopped. "Are you okay?" He asked.

"What the hell did you say to him?" She rubbed the back of her head as they both took off after Ian.

"Nothing.." Dean said as they both ran into the bathroom. Clara didn't even bother stopping. Ian was upset and he never got upset. Something was very wrong. "Hey? Ian?" He asked as they both looked at a trembling and mumbling Ian. He was staring at himself in the mirror. "Just chill out man." Dean said.

Clara took a step forward but stopped when the air got cold all of a sudden. She looked back to Dean who looked just as confused. Then all the sinks started and the soap dispenser started gushing. "Ian? Hey why don't we get out of here." She said calmly. She slowly stepped forward. "Come on, We'll go find Sam and we can go get a drink. Ian please." Dean noticed the beg in her voice. She sounded scared.

"Come on man." Dean said.

As Clara reached out for his arm. "Ian look at me." She said calmly and he turned quickly reaching into his pocket.

"Clara." Dean warned stepping forward just incase he had a knife.

When Clara saw it was just a pencil she smiled. "You just carry around pencils now-" She was going to continue but Ian looked to Dean and with all the force he had shoved the pencil into his neck. "Oh my god." She jumped back. When Ian fell to the ground she rushed to his side and tried to stop the bleeding. "Dean... get his some help." She begged quietly as he saw her whole body shake.

When the paramedics started to take Ian's body from the bathroom Dean and Clara stood next to each other. Both equally confused and scared. Clara still looked pale and was shaking and Dean didn't know how to make her feel better. An officer questioned her about all the blood she had on herself. Asking if she had anything to do with this and Dean got him to back off.

People started to gather and when Dean saw that guy from the elevator his mind started racing. All those things he was saying about ghosts and cold spots were oddly coming true. he thought he saw someone in the bathroom. Clara's eyes were focused on the ground and didn't even look up until the body was rolled past her. She tried to look away catching Sam's glance.

Dean watched as she walked over quickly. The guy she walked up to looked concerned and confused. "Are you okay?" Dean heard the guy ask.

"What the hell is happening?" She asked him. Sam looked down at his friend and his heart broke at her sad eyes.

"I have no idea." He sighed and pulled her into a hug. Sam looked up and watched as Dean kept a close eye on both of them. He looked pretty shaken up too and it was understandable.

Sam kept an arm around Clara until the body and the cops were gone. She was quiet and said nothing. Then she sighed and he looked down. "Well I guess back to work." She shook her head.

"Maybe you should go change." Sam pointed out. Clara looked down and it was like she forgot for a minute and the was reminded.

"Yeah I guess." She sighed. "I'll see you later." She smiled slightly at Sam. As she made her way back to her desk she could hear Dean struggling with something. She walked to the door and knocked.

"Come in." He sighed. When Clara walked in Dean smiled a bit.

"Everything okay in here?" She asked then she saw the water on his shirt. "You do know you can't blood out with just water right?" She sighed. Dean looked down at the spots of blood on his shirt he was trying to erase.

"Well I do know." He sighed. Dean didn't even think before he started unbuttoning his shirt. "Clara you can go home." He said when he noticed her zone out.

"What?" She asked jerking a bit.

"Go home and get some rest." he sighed.

"No that's okay I'm fine." She turned a bit.

"Clara you just watch your friend kill himself. You're not okay. So please just go home." He asked nicely.

"Okay..."She said kind of suspicious. She started to walk out when she turned. "Can I ask you something?" She asked. Now it was hard not to notice how much of Dean's body was showing. She looked away before he noticed. "I've worked here for three weeks and you've never showed an interest in anyone other than your boss or clients... but all of a sudden.."

"You think it's odd I have an interest in you?" he asked with a laugh. Clara nodded. "Honestly I can't explain it." he sighed. "It's kinda like... I don't know." he shrugged.

Clara didn't know what to say after that. She just smiled and walked out. When Clara gathered her stuff she headed home but couldn't get Ian and Paul out of her mind. She managed to shower and throw away her bloody clothes. She sighed as she sat down at her computer and started searching for reasons. Why someone two weeks from vacation would kill him self or why someone would jab their neck full of pencil. It was around ten when she her computer make a noise. She had just gotten and Email from Sandover marked ergant.

Clara Jones,

I am aware that it is late but it is very important that you come to Human Resources immediately. We would just like to have a quick conversation with you. Room 1444.

Thank you.

Clara looked at the email and was confused. HR was on floor 7. She didn't even know there was a room 1444. She sighed and figured she might as well get it over with. She threw her hair into a pony tail and got dressed. It was dark and raining when she got to the office. No one was around. Clara made her way down the halls and that's when she saw Sam being escorted by a security gaurd.

"Sam?" she asked and he looked up.

"What are you doing here?" Both men asked her.

"I-" she was confused a bit.

"Come on.." The security guard grabbed her by the arm.

"Hey." She said pushing him away.

"You shouldn't be up here... at all." The young security guard said as he walked them both into the elevator.

"What do you mean?" Clara asked. "I got an email from HR telling me to come up to room 1444." Clara was so confused.

"Wait what?" Sam sounded panicked.

"Whatever." The guard rolled his eyes.

"You got an email from HR?" Sam asked.

"Yea..." She looked up at him. "Sam it's no big deal... why do you look so-" She was cut off by the shaking of the lift. "wooh." Her and Sam wobbled. He reached out before she fell. Then it got significantly colder. Sam looked down at Clara and the guard just looked as confused as Clara.

The lift continued to shake up and down between floor 10 and 9. The guard grabbed his key and opened the emergency lock. Then the doors opened. Sam took a step forward making sure Clara was being him.

The elevator had stopped in the middle of the two floors. The guard opened the second set of doors. He looked to Clara and Sam. They only opened enough to just fit one person at a time. "Well come on." He said.

"What?" Sam and Clara asked. Sam looked more terrified then anything.

"Last time this happened took them two hours to get here." He answered Sam.

"Let's just wait." Sam said. The guard rolled his eyes and turned around. He slowly pushed himself up and shuffled forward. Clara didn't think it was a big deal so she stepped in front of Sam. "Clara no." Sam took one of her hands while the guard took the other one. He was going to help her up.

"Sam we can't just sit here." She said shaking her said.

"No." He said firmly. "We are staying here." He said.

Clara shook her head and when the guard spoke she faced him. "Look I don't got the rest of my life." He huffed pulling Clara closer to him. Then with one pull the elevator shifted Sam grabbed Clara by the hips and pulled her back. The lift went up crushing and cutting the guard in half. Sam tried to pull Clara away before she was splattered with blood but he was too late.

Sam got blood on his shirt and some on his face, most of it around his neck but Clara was less lucky. She hadn't move in time and got blood thrown everywhere. From her face to her shoes. She was now actually dripping in blood. Sam was breathing heavily and when he noticed Clara wobble he stood up straight. He was really freaked out but when Clara turned and he saw all the blood he freaked even more.

"Oh my god." He said with a breath.

"Hey?" Dean's voice came through his phone. "You okay?" he asked as Clara opened her eyes and looked at Sam.

"Call you back." he said putting his phone back in his pocket. The elevator continued down and Clara couldn't say anything. When the doors opened she stepped out and flung her self to the wall making sure it wouldn't move. "You okay?" Sam asked. Clara was breathing heavily and trying desperately to wipe the blood from her face.

"Dose it look like I'm okay Sam!" She yelled turned to him. "What the hell is going on around here!" She yelled.

"You won't believe me if I told you." Sam said trying to guid her to a bathroom so he could help her get the blood from her face off.

"Sam! Three people have died in this building in the last two freaking days!" She yelled. "Try me." She said as Sam got her to lean on a sink as he got some paper towel. "I'll believe anything right about now!" She yelled.

"You believe in ghosts?" Sam asked getting at the blood around her eyes first.

"I'm guess you don't mean Casper." She sighed grabbing the towel from him. He was going a bit slow for her. She wanted to get the hell out of that place. Sam did the same with the blood around his neck.

"So a ghost is killing everyone?" She sighed.

"Well that's what we think..." Sam said.

"We?" Clara asked.

"Dean and I... We both have this feeling." Sam said. "It's hard to explain. But we think the guy who built this company Sandover, is haunting the building to make sure it stays afloat." Sam said.

"You realize that is crazy." She said.

"Yeah well everyone who has died, well minus that guard has gotten the same email from HR." Sam looked over at Clara.

"What?" She stopped what she was doing and looked at Sam. "So... Ian, and Paul..." She sighed looking up at him.

"Yeah..." Sam nodded.

"Are you sure it isn't just a coincidence?" Clara sounded hopeful.

"Yes I'm sure." Sam sighed.

Clara looked at herself in the mirror and looked at all the blood. "Sam? you still with me?" Dean's voice came from Sam's pocket. "I found something." He said.

"Dean we may have a slight problem..." Sam said.

"Well meet me on 22." Dean said.

"Yeah... take the stairs." Sam said looking over at Clara. She looked up at him with big eyes then he hung up. "You should head home..."

"Sam you basically just said I am going to die so I'm not leaving until I'm off this things list." She said shaking her head. Clara finished getting the blood from her face. She still had a light red tint to her skin but the front of her white shirt was now red. Sam lead the way as they made it up the stairs. They got to the 22nd floor and when Sam made the corner Clara watched as Dean's face dropped a bit.

"That's a lot of blood." Dean said looking at Sam.

"No.. it's really not." He said squinting looking back to Clara. Dean looked up then followed his gaze. When Dean saw Clara he wanted to throw up.

"Oh my god." He said look at her.

"Yeah.. I know." She said looking up and away from her shirt.

"How did... what are you doing here?" He asked.

"She got an email from HR." Sam said.

"What?" Dean said looking her way. Clara shrugged but was oddly happy about how shocked and concerned he seemed.

"Yeah so what ever you are doing do it now." She said basically pleading. She did not want to die.

With that the two men went to work. Sam smashed the glass and took the two gloves from the wall.

Then the air got cold and Clara jumped. Sam's eyes got big and Clara turned just in time to watch Dean get thrown into the wall. Then Sam was next. She stood looking at them as they rolled in pain. Then the creepy pale looking apparition looked at her. He smiled and lifted his hand. It started sparking. "Uh... Guys." Clara said in a panicked tone. The apparition moved slowly toward her and as she backed into the wall she sighed running out of options.

Sam jumped to his feet quickly throwing salt at the ghost. It disappeared into smoke. "You okay?" he asked.

"Yea.. how'd you do that?" She asked.

"Apparently salt keeps away ghosts." Sam shrugged.

"Nice." Dean said standing and Sam nodded.

"Dean!" Sam called throwing him a iron rod, something from a fire place. Dean whacked the ghost and it disappeared again. "Nice catch." Sam laughed.

"Right?" Dean smiled.

"Okay how about we deal with the homicidal ghost..." Clara said.

There was a lot of this. The ghost would pop up ever so often try to kill each one of them but somehow they fought it off. Clara thought she was going insane but deep down it was like she had done this before. When Sam finally set the gloves on fire just before the thing killed Dean, Clara looked over at him and felt strange. Kinda like her heart skipping a beat as she looked at Dean. She raced over to his side.

"Are you alright?" She asked looking at the small head wound. He looked up at her and smiled.

"Yeah I'm good." He said as she helped him up.

"That was amazing!" Sam said from down the hall.

"Right?" Dean smiled at him.

"Amazing?" Clara questioned them. "We all almost died... how is that amazing?" She asked shaking her head. "Sam we are covered in blood how is that amazing?" She asked.

Neither of them had an answer. They walked back to Dean's office where Clara took his first aid kit and tried to stop the bleeding in Dean's head and fix the cut on Sam's cheek. Dean tried not to stare but the way Clara was standing in front of him it was hard not to see right through her blood soaked shirt. Sam was staring at the ground trying to figure everything out when he looked up to see Clara stepping away from Dean. She smiled at Dean and walked over to Sam. No one really said much until Clara was finished.

"May not wanna tell Danny about this." Sam said to Clara.

She laughed. "Yea.. rather not spend the rest of my life if a padded room." She shrugged. "Well unless you two have anymore ghosts that need killin' I am goin home to burn these clothes and scrub until I lose a layer of skin." She sighed.

"I think we had enough ghosts for one night." Dean said and Clara smiled at them.

She nodded at both of them and turned leaving the room. She did exactly what she said she was gonna do. She went home burned the bloody clothes and showered for a good hour. She could barley sleep. She had so many questions and the biggest one was 'Why did that feel so normal and natural?'

When morning came Clara found herself losing track of time. She was half hour late leaving and when she got to the office she found Dean looking for her. "There you are..." he smiled.

"Sorry... I was just-" She was going to think of an excuse but then realized she really didn't need to.

"It's fine." he stopped her. He was late this morning too. "I sent the wrong fax to on of the managing partners. I need you to just replace it with this one." he smiled handing her a few papers. He told her where to go and she went. As she walked back to her desk her mind was still wondering. She sat down and was confused as she why she was even here. This didn't feel right at all.

Then the phone rang. "Hello?" She answered.

"You feel the same as I do?" She heard Sam's voice. "Like we don't belong here?" He asked.

"Actually yes." She sighed releasing her hair from her pin. She shook her hair loose and stood up. "Hey Sam?" She asked. "I know what I'm gonna do today." She smiled.

"If you're thinking what I'm thinking I'll meet you downstairs in twenty." he smiled.

"Got it." She smiled hanging up the phone. Clara took a deep breath and walked into Dean's office. "Mr. Smith?" She said and he looked up at her as she closed the door behind her. Just the way her voice came out he could tell she was gonna say something important. He stood and watched as she walked over. "Dean." She smiled. "It's been a pleasure working for you and honestly you really need a promotion." She nodded walking around his desk.

"What are you talking about?" Dean asked confused as to what she was doing.

"It's been fun killing ghosts and photocopying your memos." She smiled. "But I can't do this anymore." She said looking him up and down. Clara flashed him a very seductive smile and grabbed him by his tie and pulled him into her. She kissed him roughly and oddly enough he did not fight back. He even kissed her back placing one arm around her. When she pulled away his eyes were wide and full of shock and confusion. "I quit." She whispered with a wink then walked to the door.

Dean stood in his office alone for a minute and couldn't help be confused. He sat back down trying to get back to work but he couldn't help but think about what Clara said. How she couldn't do this anymore. Truth was he couldn't either. So when his boss came in offering a raise Dean just smiled and declined, then quit.
