Sam sat and watched his brother for a very long time. His punch was a lot harder then he had intended. He couldn't believe everything that had just happened. He wanted to kill Dean for saying such awful things. He shook his head trying not to be so angry but all that anger came back as soon as Dean started to come to.
He groaned and rolled on the floor. "what the hell?" He swore as he tried to push himself up.
"Well it is about time." Sam said looking over. Dean turned quickly and saw Sam.
"What happened?" He asked rubbing his head.
"Oh I knocked you out." Sam smiled.
"What! Why?" Dean asked trying to get up. Sam could see the hangover was just hitting him now.
"Because your an ass." Sam said.
"What are you talking about?" Dean said once he gained his footing.
"What the hell is the matter with you?" Sam asked as he stood. "Why do you always push people away." Dean continued to stare at Sam with big blank eyes. "All she did was ask a simple question." Sam shook his head.
"Who?" Dean asked rubbing his head again. "And could you lower your voice... your killing me." Dean laughed a bit.
"You think that's funny!" Sam yelled and Dean shut his eyes. "You know pretending nothing happened isn't gonna work this time."
"Okay Sammy how about you tell me what the hell your problem is before I knock you out just for pay back." Dean said slowly looking around. "Wait... Why am I in Clara's room? Where is she anyways?" He asked as he slowly made his way to the door.
"She's gone you jerk."
"Why?" Dean sounded a bit panicked.
"Well I wouldn't stick around after what you said to her." Sam shook his head. Dean just stared at him. "Are you being serious? Do you seriously not remember what happened?" Sam couldn't believe it. Dean just shook his head. Sam sighed deeply. This was gonna be bad.
"Sam what did I say?" he asked.
"You accused her of having an affair." Sam said calmly. "She denied it but you called her a liar. Then just kept throwing it in her face." Dean looked down and rubbed his head.
"You stopped me right?" Dean asked.
"I tried, hell we both tried to get you to stop but you just wouldn't give in. You insisted that she was sleeping with one of her team members... Derek Morgan." Dean sighed and tried to remember but he couldn't.
Sam continued to tell Dean exactly what he said and when he finished Dean was silent. He just looked at the wall behind Sam and tried to process. What the hell was the matter with him? Why would he say that? He didn't even believe he said it. He listened how he insulted her and was a complete dick and she just took it. Sam said she didn't say anything. She denied it a few times but as he kept going she just looked at him. He was disgusted with himself.
"That's not all..." Sam started. "You said she loved him." Dean sighed and shook his head. "She didn't take that very well."
"What did she say?" Dean asked. He was already thinking of a way to apologize. Which he had no idea how to.
"Um well..." Sam sighed heading for the door. "She didn't say anything." Dean followed his brother to the front door. He was confused. He watched as Sam stepped outside slowly.
Dean stood next to Sam and when he saw what Clara had done his mouth fell open. "Oh my god." He nearly fell to his knees. "Baby." he rushed over and saw the extent of the damage. The windshield was completely smashed and a bottle of scotch sat in the driver's seat broken in half. Clara must have been crushed by what he said to do this. "Damn it." he swore. He looked up to Sam who had a sad look on his face. "Oh no what else did I do?" He asked as Sam slowly walked over.
"Well you were pretty mad. You stormed up to her and called her insane and she she had to fix it. She laughed at you and when she tried to leave you wouldn't let her walk by." Sam sighed. "She pushed you and you grabbed her arm. She warned you to let go but when she tried to pull away your grip got tighter. That's when I stepped in." Sam said leaning on the hood of the Impala.
Dean again stopped and thought about that. Did he really grab Clara? She was the last person he ever wanted to hurt. Again what the hell was the matter with him. He looked up to Sam who looked so disappointed. "Thanks." Dean said.
"For what?" Sam asked.
"Stopping me when you did." Dean nodded as he made his way back to the house. He was so pissed at himself and he couldn't even believe what he said to her. He sat in his bedroom for a few hours just staring at his phone. He wanted so bad to call her and beg for her forgiveness but he knew damn well she was going to be mad for a really long time. So he didn't call her. Instead he got to work on his car.
Once Dean replaced his windshield he and Sam headed out on the road. They still had cases to work even if Dean wasn't exactly himself. Sam noticed. He didn't say much and he seemed to get angry over simple things. But to be far the next few cases seemed to be just there to mess with them. First it was Chuck. The prophet who wrote books about their lives. Then there was Lilith trapping them in town and having to fend her off for a bit. Then there was Adam. Their half brother. That didn't end well for anyone. Somewhere in between those cases Dean got a call from an unknown number. He considered not answering ut but he thought maybe it was Clara.
"Hello?" He asked.
"Dean Winchester?" The women on the other line asked and didn't sound to happy.
"Yeah who's this?" Dean asked.
"I doubt you remember me. It's Penelope Garcia. I'm a friend of Clara's." She laughed a bit.
"Oh." Dean sighed.
Then Penelope started to yell. "What the hell is the matter with you! How could you treat Clara so cruelly! What has she ever done to deserve that! Did it never occur to you that she wasn't actually lying!" She shouted for a few minutes, basically repeating the same thing over and over.
"ok!" Dean had to stop her. "I know! I'm a complete ass!" Dean sighed. "Look I was really drunk and I don't even remember saying all that stuff. I didn't mean any of it. Have you seen Clara?" Dean asked.
"Yeah I've seen her! She is passed out in my guest bedroom because her boyfriend is a douche!" She yelled again. "You know I listened to her tell me the story and I couldn't believe it myself. I mean back when she was missing it seemed like you would tear through hell to save her, and I have read so much about you and your brother I never thought you were so cruel." Penelope said filling Dean with shame. She knew about the books. Great.
"I know." Dean sighed. "I'm agreeing with you. Can I at least talk to her?" Dean asked.
"I don't think that's a good idea." Penelope said. "She defiantly does not want to talk to you." Penelope sighed.
"Figured as much..." Dean sighed. "Any suggestions?" Dean asked.
"Suggestions for what?" Penelope laughed.
"Suggestions for what to say? I know she is gonna be pissed for a while but honestly I can't..." Dean sighed.
"Look what you said was awful and she will be pissed but I know how much she loves you and your brother. If you just back off and stay away I think when you finally find the words to say she would be more willing to listen. That's who Clara is. She's mad at everything until one day she is just over it." Penelope sighed.
That's all Dean needed for now. He had no choice but to just try and forget it. He had a feeling that when or if he saw Clara again he would know what to say. He was just hoping she would hear him out. He and Sam continued to hunt and things were alright for the most part. Then Cas came to him in his dream. Leading him and Sam to an abandoned warehouse that looked like a major battle had gone on.
It took all night but I told Penelope everything. She never interrupted, she never criticized, she just listened. She even had to stop herself from crying a few times. I started with the day my father died and I could already see the guilt she felt for me. It wasn't a happy story and she knew it. I told her about Jessica and who the Reaper really was when he had me. I know I shouldn't have told Penelope one thing though. I did tell her about Hotch. She was shocked but it made more sense why he was willing to work with Sam and Dean to find me. Then when it got to a few days ago and what happened between Dean and I she was pissed off.
"So that's it..." I sighed realizing we had no more wine left. "You got anything else?" I asked and she pointed to one of the cupboards in the kitchen. I stood quickly and suddenly I felt very dizzy. We both had drank a lot while we were sitting and it all rushed to my body. I stumbled back a bit. "wooh." I laughed.
"Are you okay?" Penelope asked as I walked slowly to get more to drink.
"Yes." I smiled grabbing the bottle of whiskey. I walked back over and poured some in my glass and offered some to her. Penelope had been quiet for a while. She was taking everything in and then she sighed. "What?" I asked taking a big drink.
"Nothing... just a lot to take in." She sighed. "I wanna say I'm glad I know the truth but honestly I'm mad at you." Penelope shook her head with a laugh.
"What? Why? I came clean about everything." I deafened myself.
"Yes but you left us to go after demons. You just walked away." She sighed.
"I know it was a terrible thing to do but I couldn't sit around that table and listen to cases where people tear each other part after what I just saw. Plus I just couldn't deal with the fact Dean was actually dead."
"And you spent four months becoming the best there is." She sounded a bit proud just then.
"It's all I wanted to do. It's all I want to do." I corrected myself. "I mean I loved working for he BAU but I'm just better at being a hunter." I sighed.
"Then why are you here?" Penelope asked. "I mean if the apocalypse is slowly headed this way shouldn't you be stopping it?" She laughed.
"I can't go back after what I did..." I sighed. "You should have seen the look he gave me when I sent that bottle through the glass. I've never seen him hate someone so much." I sighed.
"Hey. It's a car, he can fix it." Penelope shook her had. " I bet if you checked your voicemail right now you would find an apology?" She laughed. The alcohol was slowly getting to her head now.
I sighed as I pulled out my phone. I had five missed calls and three messages. I pressed play and we both listened. "Clara it's Sam. We are headed out on a hunt. Something simple. Call me." The first message ended. "Clara it's Sam. Look I gotta talk to you about something. We just finished a case and it.. well it was weird. Really need you to call me back." He sounded a bit stressed. "Clara. It's Sam... again. Look you've been gone for like four days. We've been on two cases already and I'm starting to think your not coming back. It would be really nice to hear from you. You have to know Dean didn't mean anything. He was so drunk he didn't even remember anything when he woke up. So please... just one call." Sam's voice got soft by the end and when the messages were over I couldn't help but feel bad. He had needed me and I wasn't there.
"You should call him back." Penelope nudged me.
"Maybe." I shrugged. "Wow." I said looking at the clock. "It is really early." We both laughed when we noticed it was 4:30.
"shit." Penelope swore. "I should get some sleep... You should crash in the other room. Your drunk and heart broken. You shouldn't driving." Penelope helped me get off the couch.
"I am not heart broken." I laughed.
"Honey the man you are madly in love with just called you a cheating whore and said he couldn't trust you!"
"He didn't say that!"
"He might as well have." Penelope lead me to the extra bed room. The way she was walking I turned her around and lead her to her own room. "Look just call Sam and make up." She giggled. She was very drunk now.
"Okay how about you just go to sleep Garcia." I laughed as he fell onto her bed.
"Clara!" She yelled and I looked down at her. She smiled and sat up quickly. "I'm going out with Derek Morgan." She said her face getting all red.
"I know and I'm very happy for you two." I smile trying to get her to lay down again.
"Do you think it's to early to tell him I love him?" Penelope asked.
"Well that's up to you. Just don't wait to long." I smiled sweetly at Penelope as her eyes closed quickly.
When I made my way back to the guest room I passed by the coffee table and took the half empty bottle of whiskey. I figured if I drank more I would fall asleep faster. And it worked only I had drunken the whole bottle. My sleep was dreamless and it felt like a coma. The bed was comfy and I never wanted to get up. Then as I tossed just for a second my dreamless dream became a very vivid conversation.
It all seemed very real. I was sitting in a park just watching the people walking around. There were little kids playing on one side and mothers reading magazines on the other. I just took a deep breath and sat forward listing to everything around me. "It's strange." A voice made me jump and look to my side.
"Jesus Cas." I sighed. "What the hell?" She asked. He looked over at me and narrowed his eyes. I smiled. "What can I do for ya?" I asked looking back to the people in the park.
"I need to speak with you." he said.
"Well I'm all ears." I smiled.
"Not here." Cas said.
"Why?" I asked.
"I don't know who might be listening." He said reaching into his pocket.
"Wait... Aren't i dreaming?" I asked and he nodded. "Then where is safer then my head?" I laughed.
"Somewhere I can ward." he said shaking his head. "Please just meet me here." He said handing me a paper.
"Okay but I-" I cut myself off when I realized I was alone. Suddenly the loud sound of a car horn went off and I sat up quickly.
The car's horn made me sit up in my bed and I looked around. My head was pounding and I felt sick. I groaned as I rubbed my face and felt around for my phone. When I didn't feel it on the bed I sighed knowing I would have to get up. When I finally put on foot on the ground my whole body moved like a sloth. My purse was hanging on the door handle and my phone was in there. When I finally reached it and saw it was around 7 I sighed. Three hours of sleep. Great.
I looked at the paper Cas had given me in my sleep. It was an address in Pontiac Illinois. That was 12 hours from here and a long drive. "Fine... this better be good Cas." I shook my head as I wondered to the bathroom. As I passed Penelope's room I could hear her snoring and it made me smile. At least someone would have a good sleep. Me I was stuck with a massive hangover.
I splashed some water on my face and looked at myself. I shook my head, I looked very tired. I shrugged and tried to find a piece of paper. I had to leave Penelope a note or else she might just kill me. Something came up... call me if you must know more. Was all I wrote and I knew she would call.
A quick trip to my apartment to grab some clothes and change from my dress was the first thing I did. Jeans and sweater were my choice and then coffee was my next stop. I drove out of town before I stopped for coffee. I couldn't risk running into someone who would defiantly ask questions. I sighed as I started my journey. I thought about calling Sam but honestly I figured better deal with Cas first then go back to Bobby's and see what was going on there.
While I drove all I could think about was those books. How did Carver Edlund know all that stuff? I really wanted to find out where he was but Cas seemed very impatient when we spoke so again better just deal with him first. But I was sure going to ask Cas about him. I tried not to over work my mind. When I started to think about Dean or Sam I just changed the subject in my head. I couldn't work my self up over what happened. The only thing that bothered me was, if Dean didn't want to be with me anymore there were so many other ways to deal with that. Sure I would still be pissed and he would feel guilty but we could have parted on better terms. I shook my head of those thoughts and just tried to focus on what Cas had said about someone listening to our conversation. Who the hell would even want to be in my head.
After a while my phone started to ring. "yeah?" I answered.
"Okay details." Penelope demanded.
I laughed. "Well you remember Castiel?" I asked.
"He's the angel right?" She asked.
"Yes, well he came to me and said we needed to talk. He was worried someone could be listening to he told me to meet him in Pontiac Illinois." I said.
"He tell you why?" She asked.
"No. That's what worries me."
"Well what about the boys? Did you call them?" She asked.
"No, Cas said he needed to talk to me. If he wanted their help he would have went to Dean." I explained.
"Oh..." She sighed. "Are you as hung over as I am?" She groaned.
"Oh yeah. That's why I have like three coffee's already in my system. Trying not to swerve off the road." I laughed. "So look about everything I told you... You really can't tell anyone."
"But-"
"I'm serious. Penelope you gotta keep this to yourself."
"Uh fine! Look I gotta go, you be careful." She smiled.
"Always am." I said and she hung up.
I continued to drive as fast as I could. When I finally got to the town Cas had said it was just getting dark. I quickly found the location and had to park a few blocks away just incase. As I walked through the empty warehouse yard I wondered why Cas wanted to meet all the way out here. I sighed as I moved along. Then I heard something crashing a few buildings down. I looked around and grabbed a hold of my gun. I started walking quicker as I neared the building I had to stop. There was writing all over the outside walls. Not in blood or marker, it was like a glowing light and these were symbols I had ever seen before.
It was suddenly very quiet as I walked into the building. "Cas!" I called out as I made my through the stair well. Then sparks started to fly. I looked up at the exploding lights. As I kept walking the damage just got worse and worse. "Cas!" I called out again. It looked like a bomb had gone off. Then I saw the blood trail. I followed it to a very large banishing symbol. "Cas where are you man!" I called out. The small flash light I had wasn't helping all that much until I found the blood trail again. That's when I heard the voices. I lifted my arm and kept my gun in front of me. "hello?" I called out. They must have not heard me because it sounded like they were getting closer but they didn't call out for anyone. I kept my gun up as I continued around the corner still looking for the blood trail and Cas.
I took my time but once I came to a corner I had to stop. The voices had started again and the light from two flashlights came from the corner. Then they were quiet and the footsteps stopped. I took a deep breath and quickly took the corner.
The flashlights almost blinded me but I saw the two guns pointed at me first. I looked at the two standing in front of me and I huffed. "Jesus." I said and they put their guns down first.
"Clara?" Sam came forward first putting his gun in the back of his pants. "What are you doing here?" Sam walked over to my side quickly hugged me. I smiled that he was so happy to see me.
"Cas said he needed to talk to me... what are you doing here?" I asked only looking at Sam. I knew Dean was there but I chose not to acknowledge his existence for the moment.
"Same." Dean stepped forward and I looked his way. I just nodded to him. I looked away and I heard him sigh.
"Angel banishing symbol." I said flashing my light toward the large blood smear on the wall. "Something went down here." I said looking back at the ground. The blood trail was getting larger.
I could hear Sam and Dean speak but I ignored them for now. I was worried about Cas. "Oh my God." I said rushing to his side once I found him. "Cas." I shook him. He was laying on a pile of metal with blood dripping from his hands and sides. Sam and Dean quickly joined my side.
When he started to move I was relieved. "What's going on." He asked as he tried to sit up. He looked at me and looked so confused. "no.." he pushed away but Dean grabbed his arm and tried to get him up. Something was very wrong.
"Just take it easy." Dean said and Cas tried to move away from us all.
"no... no..." He said looking around and feeling his clothes.
"Cas you okay?" Sam asked
"Castiel?" he questioned himself. He stood and looked at us. Cas looked so confused. "I'm not Castiel." He shook his head. "It's me." He said looking at me.
"Who's me?" Sam asked.
"Jimmy... my name is Jimmy." His voice even dropped a tone. He didn't sound so serious and angry now. He sounded well... normal.
"Where the hell is Castiel?" Dean demanded and Jimmy shook his head.
"He's gone."
Sam and Dean exchanged looks. "Gone? What do you mean gone?" I asked stepping forward away from them. Jimmy looked over at me and looked me up and down.
"I don't know..." Jimmy shrugged and rubbed his head. "Where am I?" he asked.
"doesn't matter. We gotta go." I said taking Jimmy by the arm.
"Go? Go where?" Dean asked as Jimmy and I started to walk away.
"I don't know just away from here." I said as they followed. I looked over to Jimmy who still had his eyes on me. "You just try and remember what happened. We are gonna need more then Cas just being gone." I said and I watched him nod.
I took Jimmy with me. He asked if he could stop and get something to eat. He said he hadn't eaten in a long time and I told the boys to get a motel room where we could talk to him. It was ridiculous how much food Jimmy came back into the car with. I said nothing and just drove. Sam texted me the address and when I showed up they were both waiting outside.
Jimmy had said nothing the entire drive and I was just trying to figure everything out. "You go inside." I instructed Jimmy and he nodded taking all his food with him. He passed the boys who looked a bit confused.
"Angels don't eat... I guess Jimmy hasn't eaten in like months." I sighed looking at both of them.
"Did Cas say what he wanted to talk to you about?" Sam asked looking at me.
"No. He just kinda showed up in a dream. Said we couldn't talk in my head because someone would be listening. Whatever that means." I shrugged with a smile.
"He said the same thing to me." Dean said and I looked over at him.
"Guess we should go find out." Sam shook his head.
Sam headed for the door and I was about to follow him when Dean spoke. "Clara?" He asked and I didn't bother thinking.
"Yeah?" I turned thinking he was going to say something about Cas.
He took a second and just looked at me. "Listen..." he started and I sighed. "I want you to-"
"Stop." I put my hand up and he stopped. "We have bigger things to deal with."
"Yes but I need to say something." Dean said. "You have to know-"
"That you didn't mean anything you said? You weren't yourself? You're sorry?" I shook my head crossing my arms. I knew what he was going to say.
"Yes." Dean sighed.
"Yeah well again we got bigger things to worry about." I said. "I really don't want to hear your apology. I won't believe it anyways." I sighed.
"But I-"
"Dean. Just focus on getting Cas back for now. Okay." I sighed and turned my back. I heard him sigh as I walked away. I headed inside and sat next to Sam as he watched Jimmy eat. When Dean joined everyone was quiet. Jimmy just ate and didn't plan on stopping.
They sat for a half hour before anyone said anything. "How are you still eating?" Sam asked.
"I can't help it. I"m hungry." Jimmy shrugged.
"Okay then what happened back there? It looked like an angel battle royal." Sam started and Jimmy shrugged.
"All I remember is a flash of light and... and I woke up and I was just you know me again." Jimmy shrugged looking my way.
"So what Cas just ditched out of your meat suit?" Dean asked.
"I really don't know." Jimmy shrugged. I couldn't help but smile at him. He was just so different then Cas.
"Do you remember anything about being possessed?" Sam asked.
Jimmy shrugged. "Well bits and pieces.. I mean angel inside you it's kinda like being chained to a comet." Jimmy answered.
"Well that sounds like it sucks." I said with a small smile and Jimmy looked over at me with a smile.
"Understatement." He smirked.
"Cas said he wanted to tell us something... please tell me you remember something." Sam sighed.
Jimmy thought for a second looking around. Then he shrugged and shook his head. "sorry."
"Okay... Then what do you know?" I asked and he closed his eyes for a second.
"My name is Jimmy Novak, I'm from Pontiac Illinois." he paused. "I have... well had a family." He paused and opened his eyes.
"Had?" I asked.
"Well I have a daughter, and an ex wife." he nodded. "I guess that would be considered a family." he sighed.
"What's your daughter's name?" I asked and I could feel both Sam and Dean's eyes on me.
"Claire." Jimmy smiled.
I sat forward and just focused on Jimmy. "What was the last thing you remember?" I asked.
Jimmy was thinking for a minute and he sighed. "I was sitting in my apartment watching tv. Claire was in her room and then the tv started to freak out. Then this high pitched whistle started coming from no where."
"Could you hear what it said?" I asked.
"Not at first." he sighed. "But once I listened I could hear it perfectly fine. It was like someone whispering."
"We gotta talk." Dean demanded as he grabbed his coat and headed outside. I watched Dean leave and Sam leave first.
"He does not sound to happy." Jimmy laughed.
"Yeah well he's not." I shrugged. "The angel that was inside you was kinda important to our whole save the world plan." I sighed as I sat back.
"Save the world?" Jimmy laughed a bit. "So you're a hunter as well?" he asked.
"Yeah." I smiled.
"Someone so young and beautiful I would think you would have a better life." he smiled as he sat forward. My mouth almost dropped to the ground. Did he really just call me beautiful? Jimmy was so much the opposite of Cas.
"Um... Thanks I guess." I smiled awkwardly. "I'll be right back." I said as I stood quickly and headed for the door. When I looked back I caught Jimmy checking me out. Not gonna lie it was weird. I shut the door quickly. Sam and Dean were having a heated conversation when I rushed over. "Yeah we really need to get Cas back." I said. "Jimmy is creepy." I laughed a bit.
"How is he creepy?" Sam asked.
"Dose it matter? What do we do?" I asked and they both looked at me. "You don't know either?" I sighed.
"I say we send him home." Dean said.
"and I say we keep questioning him." Sam said.
"Sam he has a family." Dean sighed. "He doesn't know anything."
"Are you sure about that?" I asked looking at Dean. "People suppress a lot of stuff when they don't understand what is going on around them."
"What do you mean?" Sam asked.
"Look I'm all for sending him home but let me interview him first." I said. " I bet I can get stuff out of him he doesn't even know he knows." I said.
"How?" Dean asked.
"Cognitive interviews. I used to do them all the time. You get them to focus on the things around them or what people said or how they acted to get little details from them." I shrugged. "Works like 80 percent of the time."
"Fine." Dean and Sam both agreed and I headed inside first.
"Jimmy?" I asked and he looked over. He had been pacing the room. "Come sit with me for a second."
"Why?" he asked as he walked over.
"I want to ask you a few questions. Then we can send you back to your daughter." I smiled and he sat in front of me. I looked over to Sam and Dean who sat across the table. "Just don't interrupt." I said looking at both of them and they nodded. I turned back to Jimmy. "Okay first I need you to relax and close your eyes."
"Why?" Jimmy laughed.
"Look do you want to go home or would rather have me just torture the answers out of you?" I asked looking u at him unimpressed he was being so difficult.
"Okay okay..." he huffed as he took a deep breath and closed his eyes.
"Alright let's go back to the night you first hear the whispers. What are you doing?"
"I was passed out on the chair. The tv was on but then it started to make that annoying white noise."
"Okay then what do you do?" I asked and he sighed.
"I get up to turn it off. Only it doesn't. That's when the ringing started. The glass on some of the windows broke and it felt like my ears were bleeding." He said. "Then it stopped."
"Okay so the next day what happens?" I asked.
"Nothing. The voices just get clearer. Castiel introduced himself and said I was the one. Said I was destined to be his vessel. All I had to do was say yes." he shrugged.
"Okay. Before that did he ask you to do anything? Or tell you anything important."
Jimmy sighed and opened his eyes. "That's enough. Look I really don't know anything."
"Jimmy sit down." I ordered.
"No I want to go home." He said.
"You can't." Dean stood as Jimmy started pacing.
"The hell you talking about I can't go home." Jimmy narrowed his eyes.
"There's a good chance you got a bullseye on your back." Dean tried to explain.
"What? From who?" He asked.
"Demons." Dean answered.
Jimmy scoffed. "That's crazy what do they want from me?"
"I don't know." Dean was honest. "Information maybe."
"I don't know anything!" Jimmy said again.
"I know but-"
"It won't matter to them." I interrupted Dean and walked over and stood next to him. "They question you and if you don't answer they won't waste time. They'll just kill you." I was blunt. I was getting just as annoyed.
"No. Look I'm done." Jimmy shook his head. "Demons, angels.. all of it I'm done. I just want to go home he said.
"We understand." Dean sighed.
"No I don't think you do understand. I've been shot, and stabbed, and healed, and my body has been dragged all over the earth by some miracle I'm out! And I am done. I've given enough." Jimmy shook his head. Now my head was starting to hurt again. This hang over was not gonna let up would it?
"Look all we're saying is until we figure this out, the safest place is with us." Sam tried to calm Jimmy down.
"How long?" Jimmy asked looking at Sam.
"We'll cross that bridge when we get there." Sam sighed and Jimmy shook his head. He headed for the door.
"Where you going?" Dean asked.
"To see my family." Jimmy snapped back.
"No you're not." Sam ordered.
"What I'm a prisoner?" Jimmy laughed.
"No." I said stepping from behind Dean. "If you really want to go then fine."
"Clara." Dean started and I put a hand up to stop him.
"But I'm telling you right now if you leave here we can't help you. There are demons after you and if you go see your family you are putting them in harms way." I tried to reason with him. "You think it sucks being away from your daughter now but you will never forgive yourself if you go there and she dies."
"What?" Jimmy said.
"If you leave the demons will follow you. They have a knack for using people you love against you. You say you don't know anything your wife dies first. Then they will go after your daughter. Only they won't make it as quick. Do you really want to be the reason Claire suffers?" I asked and Jimmy stared back at me.
It was quiet as Jimmy just stared back at me. He sighed. "Fine. I don't like it but doesn't seem like I have a choice." He shook his head.
"Well you're making the right choice. Look it's late you should get some sleep." She said and Jimmy nodded. I sighed as he walked over to the far bed and fell on his back. Dean and Sam looked over at me. "Same goes for you two." I smiled walking over to the table and taking a seat.
"What are you gonna do?" Dean asked.
"Hit my head against that table." I flashed him a small smile and placed my head down and sighed loudly.
Dean and Sam exchanged a look and Dean walked over and sat across of me. Sam walked over to other bed and fell asleep quickly. I could feel Dean's eyes on me as I hit my head a few times. I don't know why I was doing it but it wasn't helping the headache I had.
"What?" I whispered loudly and looked up.
"What?" Dean asked with a shrugged and I narrowed my eyes.
"Why don't you get some sleep." I put my head back down on the table and I could feel him look at me. "I can feel you staring." I said and Dean laughed a bit. "Please stop." I ordered as I looked up at him.
"How's Penelope?" He asked crossing his arms over the table.
"Fine I guess." I shrugged. "Why do you care?"
"She called me." Dean said and I sighed. "Is that so?"
"Yeah. She called me all pissed off." Dean smiled. "Called me a few colourful names." he chuckled and I was confused.
"Well Penelope can be very... creative sometimes." I rolled my eyes.
"Hey don't get me wrong I didn't argue with her. Hell I agreed with her." Dean sighed. "I know I said some things and I know you are pissed and I don't expect you to forgive me or anything... hell I'm amazed I'm even alive. I would have thought you would have shot me." He laughed a bit.
"Nah... seemed better to break your baby." I shrugged with a small smile.
"Nice throw by the way." He smiled. He didn't even sound mad which was surprising. "Like I said I don't expect you to forgive me or for things to go back the way they were, I just want you to know I'm a jerk and that I was way out of line." He nodded. He stood and looked over to the couch. "And I really am sorry." He managed a small nod and a smile before he walked over to the couch and laid down.
I couldn't believe how mature Dean had been all of a sudden. Usually he would have just said he was sorry a hundred times, or just ignored me for a few days before I said I was sorry. But now he understood how badly he messed up.
I stayed up for a few hours before Sam woke up. "Why don't you take the bed. I'll watch him." Sam offered and I didn't argue. I was very tired and as soon as my head hit the pillow I was asleep. No nightmares and no voices woke me up this time which made me very happy. The only thing that woke me up was Sam violently shaking me.
"What!" I said pushing him off me.
"Clara wake up." He ordered.
"Why?" I asked pulling a pillow over my head. "It's to early go back to sleep." I sighed.
"Clara you have to get up. Jimmy is gone." Sam said and I sat up slowly rubbing my eyes.
"Who?" I questioned not knowing what he was talking about.
"Dean hurry up!" Sam called and Dean walked out of the bathroom with a small and a toothbrush in his mouth.
"Sorry this is funny to you?" Sam sounded annoyed as I slowly climbed out of bed.
Dean continued to laugh. "Mr. big bad prison guard, Jimmy Mcmook gives you the slip. Yeah it's pretty funny." I couldn't help but laugh. Then Sam huffed and I stopped. I walked over to a chair where I had thrown my jacket.
"What were you doing anyway Sam?" I asked searching my pockets for my keys.
Sam huffed. " I was getting a Coke." he said and I looked up and Dean looked back with a smirk. I couldn't help but smile to.
Dean took a second and sighed. "Was it a refreshing Coke?" he asked and I tried not to smile.
Dean laughed again as he walked back into the bathroom. "How did he get away?" Dean asked when he came back out.
That's when I realized. "He stole my car." I said looking out the window and noticed it was gone as were my keys. "That son of a bitch." I shook my head and Dean laughed. "Sam how could you not have heard him start the damn engine?" I sighed pulling my jacket on.
"I don't know. Can we just go please." Sam sighed throwing more of his stuff in his bag and headed for the door.
Dean and I shook our heads and followed. I knew Dean didn't see the point in going after Jimmy when he had a family but if there were demons after him, more people were just gonna die. Dean drove and Sam sat impatiently in the front. As we drove I pulled out my phone and called Penelope.
"Hello." Derek answered.
"Hey Morgan it's Clara." I smiled and noticed Dean looking in the rear view mirror at me. "Where's Garcia I need to ask her something."
"Yeah she is here... wait what happened to you? I thought you were gonna hang around for a few days."
"Something came up." I said and Derek sighed. "Yeah I know I'm a terrible friend, you and Spence can both hate me but please right now I need to talk to Penelope."
"Hey girl what's up." Penelope answered.
"Ah my computer goddess I need you to find someone for me." I smiled and Sam turned around and looked at me.
"Ou ok!" She sounded excited. "Shoot."
"His name is Jimmy Novak. He's from Pontiac Illinois. I need last known address, family address and his ex wife's number." I said.
"Why are they in trouble?" Penelope asked.
"Not if you tell me what I need to know." I smiled.
"Alright. Just sent you everything I got on one Jimmy Novak... hey! Is he like a demon or something?" She asked and i laughed.
"No an angel jumped out of him." I smiled and Sam looked shocked. "Plus he stole my car." I laughed.
"Wow rough day." She added. "Well hope you get the guy."
"Thanks... hey tell Derek and Spence I'm sorry..."
"I got you covered." She smiled.
"Thanks. I owe you." I said and hung up. Then I opened the files she had sent me. I looked up to see Sam's big eyes. "What?" I asked.
"An angel jumped out of him?" Sam asked.
"What she wanted to know what happened?" I asked.
"So you told her?"
I laughed. "Sam she knows everything." I said.
"You told her!" Sam almost had a fit.
"Easy... I didn't have to. Carver Edlund told her." I pointed out. "Oh hey why is there an author writing books about your life?" I asked.
"He's a prophet." Dean answered. "He got visions of our lives and made a living..." Dean shrugged.
"Okay but why?" I asked.
"I don't know...we were too busy fighting off Lilith to ask him why." Dean added.
"Wait Lilith came after you guys?" I asked. "What happened?"
"Nothing... she ran." Sam said.
"That's all I get?" I sighed. They both nodded. "Ugh Fine." I sat back shaking my head.
"Hey guys." A woman's voice broke the silence.
"oh!" Dean and Sam both yelled as Dean swerved. I jumped and looked over to the angel sitting next to me. I blinked and I could see her whole form... only it seemed a bit broken.
"Smooth." She added.
"Ever try calling ahead first!" Dean huffed.
"I like the element of surprise." Anna said and she looked over at me. "Clara?" She asked.
"Hi." I smiled and she looked at me oddly.
She looked at me then at Dean. "You let Jimmy get away?" She asked.
"Talk to Ginormo over here." Dean shook his head.
"Sam?" She questioned. "You seem different." She said and I looked at Sam and he looked nervous. He shifted and that's when I noticed he was hiding something. He couldn't looked anyone in the eyes.
"Me?" He laughed. "I don't know... uh.. a haircut?" He laughed.
"Right." I laughed rolling my eyes as she continued to shift.
"That's not what I'm talking about." She said narrowing her eyes. Sam looked between Anna and Dean. He didn't even looked at me. "So what did Jimmy tell you?" Anna continued. "He remember anything?"
"Why what's going on?" Dean asked.
"It's Cas... He got sent back home. Well more like dragged back." Anna sighed.
"To heaven?" Dean asked and I sat forward to listen. "That's not a good thing?"
"No. It's a very bad thing... Painful thing." Anna sighed again
"Wait is he okay?" I asked. Anna didn't answer me.
"He must have seriously pissed someone off..." She sighed.
"Cas said he had something to tell me...us." Dean said looking back and noticing the worry on my face.
"He said it was important." I added.
"What?" Anna jumped at my words.
"I don't know." I shrugged. "He wasn't himself when we found him." I sighed.
"What about Jimmy? Dose he know?"
"I doubt it." I sighed.
"What does that mean?" She seemed angry.
"I questioned him and he didn't seem to know anything."
"Well maybe you should have asked better questions." She talked down at me. "Because whatever it is it's huge. You gotta find out for sure."
"That's why we are going to find Jimmy." Sam said.
"That's why you shouldn't let him go in the first place." Anna said looking at me.
"Why are you looking at me?"
"You know he is probably dead already." She shot at me.
"That's not my fault." I knew she was blaming me.
"Isn't everything?" She asked narrowing her eyes at me.
"What?" I asked.
"Every time something bad happens you always seem to be around. Why couldn't you have just stayed out of this for once." She shook her head. "Then there would have been at least a possibility of Cas and Jimmy being alive!" She raised her voice. "If Cas doesn't come back... we blame it on you." She added before she flew off.
I sat in the back alone now with my mouth open. I was pissed and insulted. I shook my head and sat back. For the next few hours it was quiet. Dean pulled over for some gas and when Sam went into pay I noticed Dean looking at me as I leaned on the hood of the Impala.
"You know this can't possibly be your fault right?" Dean said as he walked over and sat next to me.
"Yeah well your girl angel friend is a bitch." I sighed shaking my head. Dean laughed. "I just can't help but think about what she said about Cas. You think he's okay?" I looked over at Dean and he sighed.
"I wish I could say yes..." He sighed.
I sighed and looked into the gas station's window to see Sam on the phone. "Sam! Let's go!" I called out and he ignored me. "Who is he talking to?" I asked.
"Ruby probably." Dean huffed.
"Ruby?" I asked. "Isn't she a demon?" I asked standing in front of Dean.
"Yup she is feeding him demon blood so he can do his mind tricks." Dean nodded.
"But I thought he stopped?"
"Well he lied." Dean said.
"He has no idea you know." I added and Dean nodded. "Why didn't you say something."
"I don't think you talking to him would have made much of a difference... He's a big boy." Dean shrugged.
"Wow you are so hating the fact you can't control him." I couldn't help but smile.
"What?" Dean crossed his arms as he tried not to look at me.
"You think you are so cool." I couldn't help but laugh at him.
"Hey, I am." Dean smirked.
"Just admit it. You don't like it but there is nothing you can do about it, and you hate it." I said shaking my head at him. "Big brother Dean can't tell little Sammy what to do anymore..."
"Would you stop." Dean finally looked at me and he looked serious.
"Alright." I threw my hands up and sighed. "I just thought you didn't like what he was doing."
"I don't." He grunted.
"Then...?" I asked.
"Then what?"
"Exactly? I know your gonna stop him. How?" I asked and Dean rolled his eyes.
"You're crazy." Dean said walking around to the drivers side.
"That may be but I know you... just go easy on him. You have to know he is only doing what he thinks is right."
"You sounds just like him." Dean smiled as he stepped in the car. "Why don't we deal with Jimmy not Sammy?" Dean asked closing the door between us.
"You guys ready?" Sam said coming from the station.
"Yeah for about ten minutes." I added and he sighed. "What were you doing in there?" I asked and Sam shook his head at me. "Fine." I shrugged and got in the back.
The rest of the drive was very quiet. We still had a bit to go and all I could think about was Sam and that demon. I wanted to ask but I knew it would only set off a fight. When Dean finally pulled in and they both stepped out of the car I heard nothing. "Wait." I stopped them.
"What?" They both whispered back.
"Sh." I warned as I looked at the house. It was to quiet for a house that had demons watching it for sure. "Seem a bit-"
"NO!" A scream from the house broke the silence.
Sam and Dean were first inside and Dean quickly took care of the first demon holding Jimmy's daughter. I rushed over to the girl who had fallen down and grabbed her and helped her stand. She clung onto my side tightly. "daddy" she called out and Jimmy came running. Dean went to kill the other Dean when he noticed she was stuck in her place.
I looked over to Sam as Dean came toward me. He had his hand extended and his eyes half closed. He was holding that demon in place. I couldn't believe it. I knew Sam could do things but I never remember seeing him do it. "Go! Get them out of here!" He yelled at me.
I started backing up slowly with Claire and Jimmy at my side. Dean nodded to me and we all took off. I knew he would stay just incase Sam needed help. When I got outside I noticed Jimmy's wife was missing. I looked around and didn't see her.
"Where are my keys?" I demanded and Jimmy slammed them in my hand as he held his daughter.
I watched as black smoke shot up through the house then disappeared behind it. "Where's your wife!" Dean yelled as him and Sam came running.
"Right here." She came from the back door and handed Claire her coat.
"Let's go." Dean demanded as they all piled into the Impala. I crossed the street to my car and followed them. The entire drive I couldn't help but think about Sam and that demon. Then I remembered seeing Jimmy's wife come from the back where the smoke had disappeared. I was starting to get suspicious, what if the demon was now in her. This was not going to end well at all.
Dean drove to a secluded parking lot and stopped in the middle a few levels down. I parked behind them and got out quickly. Sam and Dean got out slowly. "Where did that demon go?" I asked before the others could join.
"What?" Sam asked.
"You were supposed to exercise it... but it smoked out?" I asked and Sam nodded looking down. "Then where did it go? Did you see it leave?" I asked.
"Does it really matter? It's gone." Dean defended Sam.
I huffed when I saw Jimmy join us. "What the hell were you thinking?" I immediately jumped at him.
"You realize you could have gotten your whole family killed?! What is the matter with you!" I yelled.
"Hey." I felt Dean's hand on my shoulder pulling me back a bit. "Clara back off." He said firmly and I just stared at Jimmy. He looked so afraid.
"Did you even think it through! We told you not to leave and what do you do! You steal my car and go the one place where they know you would be! You walked right into their trap." I shook my head.
"I know." Jimmy sighed.
"Then why! Seriously I would love to know what was going through your tiny, idiotic brain of yours when you thought running off was a good idea!" I yelled again.
"I was thinking I hadn't seen my family in a year!" Jimmy raised his voice a bit.
"Oh well that makes sense." I rolled my eyes. "Do you know how lucky you are they showed up in time!" I pointed behind me to Sam and Dean who just looked at me. "One minute later and they would be dead and you would be some demons play thing!"
"Clara!" Dean raised his voice and stepped forward. "Enough." he said and I looked at him. I was so angry I didn't even bother yelling at him.
"Next time you need a 'coke'... think again." I shook my head at Sam making sure to use air quotes. He looked down and sighed.
I walked over to the trunk of the Impala and leaned on it. I crossed my arms and just stared at Jimmy and the boys as the were quiet. They looked back at me and I shook my head.
"You were right..." Jimmy sighed looking to Dean.
"Sorry we were." Dean said his eyes still fixed on me.
"I'm telling you, I don't know anything." Jimmy shook his head.
"I don't think they are inclined to believe you." Dean shook his head at me and then looked to Jimmy.
"Even if they did, your a vessel." Sam sighed. "They are still gonna wanna know what makes you tick."
"Which means vivisection." Dean sighed. "If they're feeling generous."
"We're gonna tell you once again... without all the yelling." Sam said looking at me then back to Jimmy. "You're putting your family in danger. You have to come with us." Sam said and Jimmy sighed.
"How long?" He asked looking back to me and his family who was still in the back seat. "And don't give me any of that cross the bridge when we get here crap." he huffed.
Sam rolled his eyes and huffed. "Don't you get it. Forever. You can never be with your family." Sam was really ticked off now. I smirked knowing he was just trying to make it clear, but apparently when I do it I'm wrong. I rolled my eyes. "So you either get as far away from them as possible or you put a bullet in your head." I shook a little listening to Sam's very dramatic speech. "And that's how you keep your family safe. But there is no getting out, and there is no going home." Sam shook his head.
"Well don't sugar coat it." Dean tried to lighten the mood.
"He's just telling him the truth Dean." I chimed in and walked into their little circle next to Jimmy. "It's a really scary way of putting it... but he's right." I sighed looking over to Jimmy. "Now seeing as we all agree you can't stay with them, where is the safest place you can think of?" I asked.
"What do you mean?"
"What other family does she have? Further the better." I added.
"Um her parents I guess. They live a few states over." Jimmy shrugged. "Why?" He asked.
I sighed and looked at the boys and smiled. "These two are gonna keep you safe from any demon after you while they locate Castiel." I looked between all of them. "And I'm going to take your wife and daughter far from here."
"Clara..." Sam started.
"You need to find Cas and find out what was so important. You need to keep his vessel safe." I said looking at both of them. "We can't let them go alone. They will just pick up their tracks with int a few days. I can take them far from here, protect them and make sure they are safe." I smiled looking at Jimmy. "Amelia and Claire will be safe, I can promise you that." I smiled placing a hand on Jimmy's shoulder. "Now go tell them what's happening." I said and he sighed. "Go." I nodded and he did what I said.
"You can't be serious?" Sam jumped at me as soon as Jimmy left.
"Sam don't start. We can't let them go alone." I sighed.
"You know demons will be crawling all over the place and the minute they see you.." Dean started.
"I know." I smiled with a shrug. "but see demons can't seem to grasp the concept of me not wanting to die so you know... they'll have to work for my dead body." I laughed.
"That's not funny." Dean shook his head.
"It's a little funny?" I smiled at them. "Alright relax. It'll be fine. As soon as you find Cas. You get Anna back down here, cal Bobby, and just do what ever you need to get Cas back. Then we can work on making those two disappear from demon radar." I sighed.
"This is a terrible idea." Sam added.
"You got a better one?" I asked. They were both quiet. "Well then don't take to long." I smiled. I turned my head to see Jimmy hugging his wife and his daughter looking up at him with big sad eyes. I sighed looking back at Sam and Dean. "Call me the minute you find something." I smiled as I started to back up. "Bye boys." I nodded as I walked over to Amelia and Claire.
"Thank you." Jimmy nodded as he walked back to Sam and Dean's side.
I smiled at the three of them as they got in the Impala. This was a terrible idea. As they drove off I slowly looked over my shoulder and watched as Claire stood next to her mother. "Why is Daddy leaving again?" She asked.
I took a deep breath as I was about to explain to her when suddenly I was thrown against the ground. My head smacked the pavement and when I tried to get up I felt pressure holding me down. "Damn it." I shook my head.
"It is just not my day." Amelia walked over to me and when her eyes flashed black I laughed.
"I know it."
"Well good for you." She said grabbing me by the arm and pulling me up violently. She had Claire by her hair and she was already crying. As the demon yanked me up I felt my shoulder pop. I wanted to cry out in pain but I held it in for Claire. She looked scared enough she didn't need me scaring her even more. "Get in and shut up." The demon forced us into the back. I knew I had a knife under the seat but I doubted that would help much.
"It's gonna be alright Claire." I said calmly to the girl holding onto my arm tightly.
"I said shut up." The demon spun around in the front seat with the but of a knife and bashed me over the head with it. I wasn't able to say anything before my whole body went limp and I blacked out. The last thing I heard was Claire scream. I really wish I could have helped her but when I woke up I had idea where we were.
When I finally came to I was laying on the very hard and cold ground. My head was pounding and every move was painful. I lifted my head and placed my hand over where the demon had hit me. I was bleeding but I think I'll live through that. It was the knife sticking out of my side that worried me. I was laying in a small pool of blood. The knife had stopped me from bleeding out. I stood slowly and looked around. Claire was tied to a chair and she was knocked out. "Claire?" I tried calling to her but she said nothing.
"Oh she is just taking a little nap. She'll join us in a few minutes once daddy dearest and his body guards show up." Amelia smiled and her eyes flashed again.
"You called them?" I asked. "Well at least I get to watch you die." I smiled.
"Oh funny." She shook her head and as she stepped closer she twisted her hand and the knife twisted as well.
"Ah!" I yelled in pain as I fell to the ground.
"Stop!" Jimmy's timid voice made us all look to him.
"Oh hi honey." Amelia smiled flashing her eyes to him as well. Jimmy looked so terrified for his daughter and wife.
"Listen I'm begging you here. Do what ever you want with me... but my wife and daughter they're not a part of this." Jimmy begged.
I tried to stand up but it did hurt like a bitch. "Oh they're a part of this." She smiled. "and p.s... you should have come alone." She smiled walking up to him.
"I did come alone." Jimmy shook his head.
"You're such a liar. Like I didn't think you would bring Heckle and Jekyll." She shook her head.
"Real nice plan Dean." I sat up quickly at Sam's voice. Two of Amelia's demons had Sam and Dean by the arm. They were out of breath and a bit beaten up.
"Can't blame a guy for trying." He laughed.
"You know what's funny?" Amelia asked.
"You wearing a soccer mom?" Dean joked.
" I was actually bummed to get this detail." She smiled.
"Oh we really don't care about your sad life as a demon." I said crawling to my knees. Sam and Dean didn't even realize I was there until I said something. "Why don't you skip the villain monologue and just get to the fighting... some of us have better things to do." I laughed as I climbed to my feet very painfully.
Amelia laughed at my words. "For someone with so little time left should really be more polite." She smiled twisting her hand.
This time not only did the knife twist it was like she set it on fire. I yelled out in pain but I tried to hold back. She smiled as the knife started to pull itself out. I took a breath of relief but then the knife started to dig back in.
"Hey!" Sam yelled which stopped the knife from moving. I sighed deeply grabbing at my side to stop the pain. "You got us. Now let them go." Sam ordered.
"Oh Sam. It's easy to act chivalrous when your wonder girl powers aren't working are they?" Amelia laughed.
"What?" I coughed out trying to stay stable. I looked over to Jimmy who looked at his daughter. "Please tell me this isn't your plan?" I asked looking to Dean and he shrugged. "oh.." I sighed and looked at me and sighed.
Amelia looked back at me and smiled. "Now for the punch line." She said turning back to Sam and Dean. She pulled a gun from her pocket and aimed it at Dean first. "Everybody died."
"No." I coughed out again. I stood straight and started walking toward her ready to fight with the knife in my side. I pulled it out painfully and threw it at her.
Amelia took a step sideways and laughed. She turned quickly and pulled the trigger and before I could say anything I felt that bullet rip through my stomach. "Clara!" I heard Dean's painful yell as I fell backwards. Then another shot went off. I had enough strength to look and watch Jimmy fall to the ground with blood seeping from him as well.
"Waste little orphan Annie." Amelia smiled as the bigger of the demons headed toward the little girl. The demon pasted right by me and as he stepped next to me I reached out and grabbed his leg. I wrapped my arms around his leg and he stopped.
He looked down at me and laughed. He shook his leg which resulted in pain rushing everywhere. "You leave that little girl alone." I ordered and he laughed again. He looked back to Sam and Dean and he continued to walk with me clung to him. "Seriously?" I sighed and lifted my head. I used his leg as my bar to get up. I got to my knees and let go of his leg. He shook his head and I quickly got to my feet.
"Clara..." Dean warned.
I ignored him and started off into a run. It was the most painful run I have ever had the misfortune of doing. I took my chance and jumped the man's back and held him back from killing Claire. He kept walking like it was no big deal. I wrapped my leg around his body and grabbed at the bat he was going to whack Claire with. I looked down to Claire and smiled.
"He's all your Cas." I smiled and Claire looked up quickly and placed her hand on the man's head and he started to glow. That's when I heard Sam and Dean start to attack the demons behind me. I smiled when I blinked and saw Cas's wings and form. Sure it was shadowed by a girl but still the same.
The only think I didn't plan on was the dead demon to fall over and crush me under him. "Jesus!" I called out. He was a very heavy man and I was trying desperately to push him off before he cut off my air himself.
I watched as Claire walked over to the demon on top of Dean and kill it. He glowed and then the body dropped. I was waiting for Dean or Sam to come push the dead guy off me but Sam was to busy sucking the blood out of a demon. Dean and Claire stopped to watch him and I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Sam sat up with blood covering his mouth. He looked to his brother who looked horrified and when he looked to me I'm sure he saw the same expression.
Sam looked down at the demon and killed it with the knife. Sam stood and looked at his brother. I tried to call out to them that Amelia was behind Dean but I couldn't move much less yell. I was choking on the little air i could get and the blood. I kept trying to push the dead guy off me but when I looked up I watched Sam exercise the demon that was in Amelia. She dropped her knees as the black smoke leaked from her mouth and that was it. No blood, no coma, she was fine. Dean rushed to her side and she nodded to him.
Claire walked over to her father who was now very pale. I lifted my head to watch as she knelt next to him. I looked over to Sam and Dean who were just staring at each other. "Hey!" I called and they didn't more. "Being crushed to death here!" I coughed and they finally jumped and looked at me. "Help.. please?" I asked nicely and the they rushed over.
"Are you okay?" Sam asked as he pulled the guy off of me and Dean pulled me gently to his side. I gasped for air and y head landed on Dean's shoulder. He placed his hand gently on my stomach to stop the bleeding and I flinched.
"Um... no, not really." I said quietly. "Remember when you said going with them was a bad idea?" I asked as I put an arm around Dean's shoulders and helped me up.
"Yea?" Sam asked taking my hand and keeping me balance.
"Well it was." I said squeezing his hand. There was a flash of light from the side and we all turned and watched Jimmy stand up. I blinked and smiled a bit. "But we found Cas." I added as he walked toward us.
Amelia ran to her daughter and Cas turned to look at them. I watched as his eyes went cold. He was no longer Jimmy and I sighed. Now hopefully he could at least stop the bleeding. "Cas?" I questioned and he didn't look at me. "Cas?" I called again as he walked by us.
"Cas what were you going to tell us?" Dean called out as he pulled me closer to keep me on my feet.
"I learned my lesson while I was away Dean." Cas said in a very low voice. "I serve heaven I don't serve man." He shook his head. "And I certainly don't serve you and your abomination of a girlfriend." he narrowed his eyes as me. It was like I was dead to him.
"Cas..." I said quietly but he turned and walked away. It wasn't long before the sound of flapping wings took off.
Sam looked over at Dean who looked so confused. I wanted to say more but I was hurt as well. How could Cas say that. I wanted to start yelling but then my vision started to get a bit blurry. "Hey... guys..." I stuttered out. "Can we... go.."
Dean looked down at me and could see how pale I was. That's when I had to put more weight on him. I was loosing to much blood. "Okay hold on." He said holding me up and heading for the door. "You get them in a car and out of here. Then we gotta get to Bobby's." Dean ordered and Sam didn't argue. I bit my lip as Dean helped me to the car. We were only half way there when Dean stopped. "hold on." He said as he made me put my arm around his shoulders tightly. He bent a bit and scooped his arms under my legs and picked me up.
"I can walk." I said quickly my head hitting his hard chest. I was fighting to keep my eyes open.
"Oh I'm sure you can." Dean smiled down at me and walked quickly to his car.
"It amazes me that you can carry a fully grown person." I shook her head. "You have a habit of picking up girls?" I questioned. I didn't know what I was saying I was just happy I was talking.
"Always seems to be you." He laughed as he placed me down gently in the back of the Impala. He placed some temporary bandages around my wounds and sighed looking me up and down. "We'll be at Bobby's soon. Just don't close your eyes. Okay?" he asked.
"I can't make any promises." I laughed which only got me to cough up some blood.
"Well tough." He shook his head. "I'm serious. We aren't far." He said.
"It's like 6 hours from here."
"Well it is a good thing you don't die easy then." He smiled.
It was quiet for a sec as he sat at the edge of the back seat waiting for Sam. I was really tired and I sighed noticing how tense he looked. "You okay?" I asked and he turned and looked at me.
"Yeah I'm fine." He smile.
"I know what Cas said was pretty harsh... but I bet what he went through upstairs wasn't pretty." I offered.
"He just called you an abomination... and you're sticking up for him?" Dean seemed to laughed a bit.
"I'm just saying... we should all be given the benefit of the doubt before we make judgments." I sighed and he looked at me with really sad eyes. "Including Sam?" I knew that's what he needed to hear.
"Yeah." Dean sighed deeply.
"You are so disappointed in him aren't you?" I asked with a cough. He didn't say anything and I knew the answer. "Well if it helps I'm really sorry I threw a bottle of scotch through your windshield..." I said quietly.
Dean laughed a bit. "No you're not." He shook his head.
"You're right... I'm not." I laughed painfully and he looked nervous. Like I was about to break. "You were a real jerk." I said and he nodded. "I have never seen you act like that... Why the hell would you even think I was... how did that thought even enter you mind?" I asked.
"Honestly? I don't know." He shook his head. " I heard you talking to him late at night while was out at the bar getting drunk and I just kept thinking he would be so much better for you then me." Dean said looking down. "Then it just took off from there. If I was thinking it I'm sure you were too..."
"But I wasn't... hell I never think anyone is better." I smiled. "You happen to be one of the best things that has ever happen to me... minus all the blood." I joked and he laughed shaking his head.
"You are the best thing to happen to me." Dean said very quietly. I smiled reaching over painfully to grab his hand. I pulled myself up slowly. "Lay down. You'll hurt yourself."
I smiled at him and place a hand on his cheek. I leaned in slowly and kissed him gently. He kissed back right away and when I pulled away his eyes lit up a bit. "I am still so mad at you."
"Understandable." He nodded leaning his forehead on mind.
"But given time I think I can move past your drunken rage." I smiled. He sighed and I kissed him again. "I love you..." I sighed closing my eyes.
Dean was quiet for a second and when I opened my eyes he looked so shocked and happy at the same time. "I.. I love you too." He smiled and sighed in relief. It was like he expected me to be mad forever. I smiled at him as my eyes started to close again. "Hey keep those open." he ordered.
"Okay." I said opening them one at a time. "Listen.. I don't know you plan... but go easy on him." I sighed my eyes closing again. I was about to pass out. "Just go easy on Sam.. please..." I felt my eyes roll back in my head and I fell back against the seat.
"Sam!" I heard Dean yelled. "We gotta go now!" He ordered. The last thing I heard was the sound of the Impala's engine starting.
