"I'm telling you we are never going to get past your stupid security desk." Dean called from the bathroom as the shower finally turned off. We drove all night from Texas to Virginia and once we reached Quantico we passed out quickly at a cheap motel. Dean had suggested we just call Aaron and get him to meet us somewhere but I really wanted to see the team.
"Trust me if you just put on your suit it will be fine." I answered Dean as he walked out with a towel around his waist. I had gotten up a bit earlier to shower, change and get coffee and let him sleep in. I had a pair of black dress pants, a dark green blouse and black heals I found from a store in town.
He looked at me for a second and huffed. "We'll still be questioned. Always are." Dean complained as I passed him his pants and shirt. I stood and walked over to my jacket as he changed and pulled out two badges.
"No we won't." I smiled and he shook his head as he angrily tucked in his shirt. "Calm down, it's just a shirt." I said with a smile. Dean said nothing. "Why don't you just stay here?" I asked and he turned to face me quickly. " I mean you don't have to come." I smiled.
"If Aaron knows something then I need to know." Dean nodded as tightened his belt and started to fumble with his tie. "Why did you undo the knot?" He asked as I watched him tie it wrong at least twice. I laughed at him and walked over and turned him to face me. He sighed letting his arms fall. I quickly tied his tie. "How did you do that so quickly?" He asked as I handed him his suit jacket.
"Well I do know how to do things other than hunt monsters and serial killers." I rolled my eyes as I turned my back to him. Dean laughed as he quickly stepped up behind me and put his arms around my waist and pulled me to him.
"Oh yeah?" He whispered in a low voice and it brought a smile to my face quickly. He spun me around and captured my lips quickly before I could come up with a snappy come back. Dean held me close as he passionately kissed me. "We should go." He said pulling away quickly with a cheeky smile. He was out the door before I even realized he had walked away.
"I hate you." I said under my breath as I walk out the door.
"I heard that." He said as he got into the Impala.
"Oh well good for you." I mocked him and he laughed. I shook my head at Dean as he drove toward the FBI. As Dean drove he filled me in on all the hunts he had been on in the last month. He had gone through most of them the night before but he continued his stories. As we parked and walked up the steps of the building he held the door open for me and once I saw who was working the security office I smiled over at Dean. "You don't say anything I got this, keep your badge in your pocket." I said walking a head of him.
"What?" I heard him say as he followed me.
"Henry." I ignored Dean and called for the man behind the counter. Henry was one of the younger security officers who always had a bit of a crush on me. He was sweet and very flirtatious. Once he heard me he turned and dropped what was in his hands.
"Agent Walsh." His smile grew as I leaned on his desk and he stood dropping a few pens.
"How are you?" I asked with a smile.
"I'm.. Fine.. you?" he asked turning red quickly as he picked up the pens he dropped.
"Oh well as good as I can be." I sighed.
"I heard you took some time off and transferred to Washington..." Henry said with confusion.
"Who told you that?" I asked with a smile.
"Oh Agent Hotchner did." Henry said.
"Well he lied a bit." I laughed. "I defiantly didn't take time off. They shipped me off as soon as I wasn't needed here." I laughed.
"Ouch that seems harsh. I mean a smart agent like you is aways needed around here." Henry smiled.
"Well thank you." I smiled. "Now I just need to go see Agent Hotchner... you know if him and the other are in yet?" I asked.
"Well they-" Henry stopped the minute he looked up and saw Dean standing behind me. "Who's that?" Henry asked standing tall.
I sighed with an eye roll. "That's the stiff they stuck me with. Apparently I needed a partner with like no personality." I rolled my eyes as I looked back at Dean who just cleared his throat. I could see how annoyed he was and I just flashed him a smile. "He doesn't smile much... just kinda stands there." I shook my head at him and Dean looked so unimpressed and I laughed.
"Wow bummer." Henry nodded.
"Yeah tell me about it... so Hotch and the team in?" I asked.
"They took off from Alaska a few hours ago. They should be landing any minute now." Henry said.
"Alaska?" I questioned.
"Yeah, they've been gone for a few days. Small town, not many suspects." Henry shrugged.
"Well I need to talk to them about a case we are working back in DC so you mind if I just head up?" I smiled at Henry and he just stared at him. He slowly looked up to Dean who I'm sure was staring daggers at him.
"Him too?" Henry asked.
"Hey if you want to keep Mr. grumpy he's all yours." I smiled back at Dean who just narrowed his eyes at Henry. "But he may have a few questions for my friends up stairs... so you know I kinda need him."
Henry was quiet for a second as I smiled at him and he stared at Dean. "Alright, go a head." Henry nodded.
" Ah thank you Henry you are the best. " I giggled as I backed off his desk and walked around toward the elevators. I noticed Dean had not followed. "Come on agent." I called out coldly and he walked over slowly.
It was quiet as we stepped into the elevator but once it was closed Dean turned to me and shook his head. "What was that?" He asked throwing hims arms up.
"What?" I giggled at his frustration.
"What was with all the flirting and Mr grumpy crap." He sounded a bit angry.
"Oh come on." I laughed. "I've known Henry for a while now. I just thought it would get us up here faster." I smiled. Dean was quiet and I just stared at him. "You are so cute when your jealous. " I teased him.
"Shut up." He shook his head as he shifted. I couldn't help but giggle.
As the doors opened I walked out of the elevator first and Dean followed. The floor was quiet. "Strange." I said quietly. It seemed as if everyone was either on a case or just doing paper work. Not a single phone rang and no one spoke.
"It usually this quiet?" Dean asked as we walked through the doors.
"No..." I sighed as I walked ahead of him.
"Agent Walsh?" A timid voice came from a desk just in front of me.
"Anderson." I smiled over at him as he stood.
"What are you doing here? I thought you were transferred." He questioned.
"I.. I was.." I looked around. "Where is everyone?" I asked slightly distracted by the quiet and he sighed. "What? Did something happen?" I asked.
"Well a lot of things actually." He said walking back over to his desk and I followed him. "Triple murder in Minneapolis, Eight home invasions in Huston, 6 missing prostitutes in Florida, only three have been found... well most of them, and there at least a dozen more cases." Anderson said as he flipped through a bunch of the case files.
"Things always get so piled up around here?" Dean asked.
"Well we don't have as many agents as Washington so we always have a pile..." Anderson huffed at Dean. "But this is excessive." Anderson looked over at me. I couldn't help but smile at Anderson's surly attitude toward Dean. "But I mean some we can't even take, they just don't make sense." Anderson laughed as he handed me a file. "Like this one. A family in their hometown, just vanish but there was enough blood in the house to suggest that they were all drained." Anderson shook his head as I looked through the photos and Dean looked over my shoulder at them. "Then this one six people with their hearts literally ripped from their bodies without a trace of evidence." Anderson said.
"The suspect took their hearts?" Dean asked taking the file from me.
"Yes." Anderson answered quickly. Dean looked up at him and noticed the glare he was getting.
"You got a problem... agent." Dean said looking the man up and down.
"Yeah I got a problem." Anderson said slamming some of his files down. I couldn't help but jump. Anderson was always so timid and kind of a follower. "We get all the shit DC doesn't want to deal with. Tell me something what are you so busy with that you couldn't take some of these cases off our hands?"
"Anderson..." I started.
"No. I'm sorry Walsh but come on. You take off and we are short one agent, and it's like we just get bombarded with cases that we can't solve." He shook his head. I just looked at Anderson and saw how tense he was. "Then we get all the paper work to file and you Washington people just expect us to-"
"Wooh." I interrupted Anderson as his voice started to get louder and he exhaled deeply. "Anderson how long have you been here?" I asked. He was never this confrontational
He sighed and rubbed his face. "Going on three days..."
"Jesus haven't you gone home?" I asked.
"Can't. Strauss wants us all to keep up with the case load, which means overtime." Anderson sighed. "Then there are the new agents we have to train and they are just... terrible." He scoffed. "Like the one Strauss put with Agent Hotchner's team didn't even pass basic training."
"What?" I said getting very worried.
"The kid is an idiot. He's drawn his gun more times than the entire team combined... he's only been here a month!" Anderson laughed. "He doesn't do the paperwork to go with each case, he doesn't follow orders and he is a terrible profiler."
"How did he get hired then?" I asked quickly.
"That's on Strauss. Apparently he is the son of very important person to the bureau and she thought he would fit in nicely." Anderson sighed as he rubbed his face. "Spoiled rich kid type." he said looking at me.
"Wow..." I looked down at the cases in my hands and suddenly felt very guilty. Everyone was struggling here and it was partly our fault. "Well tell you what, me and my partner here will take these cases... the ones that don't make sense and hopefully that will help."
"We will?" Dean whispered and I nudged him and he cleared his throat.
"Well we can't take those cases anyways. We are to backed up so go right ahead. You'll just have to tell JJ." Anderson sighed in relief. "I assume you came here looking for them right?" He asked and I nodded. "They should be arriving any minute now." He sighed as he sat down.
"Garcia in her office?" I asked.
"No she went with the team." Anderson said.
"Oh it was that kind of case?" I asked and Anderson nodded. "Alright well thank you for the information, and Anderson... go home." I smiled. "Get some sleep." I patted him on the back and turned toward Dean as we walked away.
"That kind of case?" Dean asked as we made our way to Hotch's office to wait. "What does that mean?" He asked looking through one of the files.
"Garcia usually stays here in Quantico unless for some reason communication, or software is difficult to work with. Like in New York on the terrorist cell, we had to many cameras to go through and it was just easier for Garcia to be in the control room watching out for us." I sighed. "They are usually the really sucky cases... that one just happened to be terrorist demons." I whispered and Dean looked over at me. "Oh and just FYI Penelope is a big fan." I smiled over at Dean as I walked up the stairs first and he stopped at the bottom.
"What?" he asked closing the file he had in his hand.
"Oh you know the intense and slightly erotic supernatural books..." I said and Dean sighed. "She has read all of them... and she is a big fan." I winked at him.
"Seriously..."
"Yeah... I already told you she knows everything about me and you and the whole hunting thing. She read the books and I saw no reason to lie."
"Right... she's the one who helped us find S-" Dean stopped just before he said Sam's name. He looked down quickly and he sighed. It was like he was afraid to say his name because it would upset me or something. "Right." He nodded clearing his throat.
"Clara?" A voice came from the doorway of the floor and I looked passed Dean to see Garcia pushing through the doors first. She had a huge grin on her face and she rushed over quickly. I stepped around Dean and down the stairs and met her half way. She threw her arms up and once I got close enough she hugged me tightly and giggled. "oh my god! Girl it's been forever!" She said squeezing tightly. I smiled and once I saw the team follow her I got a lot of different reactions.
"I know... I'm sorry but you know saving the world in all." I whispered so only she could hear and I winked at her when she let me go. She winked back with a smile. She stepped off to the side and the team finally came closer. Derek was the next to smile and grab me.
"I tried calling you, what the hell?" he asked.
"I know I heard. I'm sorry I... well I'm sorry." I couldn't think of a good enough excuse.
"Could have used your help a few weeks ago." David said shaking his head like he was mad.
"Oh I bet you got along just fine Rossi." I smiled to lighten his mood and once I did he smiled and hugged me. JJ was next to hug me and she looked very happy. She sighed when she let me go and she looked to Spencer who did not look to happy. "Spence?" I asked and he looked away. "Hey?" I stepped forward and he quickly walked around me and went straight to his desk.
"He's a bit angry..." JJ started.
"Why?" I asked quickly.
"Well the case we needed your help on... it involved a family member of his." JJ sighed.
"His cousin's house was broken into and someone killed his family. Wife and newborn." Rossi sighed as we all looked back to Spence. "He hasn't really talked much since then."
"Damn it I should have been there." I sighed.
"Not your fault." Hotch spoke up and stepped forward. He looked behind me and saw Dean and sighed. "Can't be blowing your cover on a high profile case, when you've been at it for a month and a half." Hotch said as he just stared at me. I was just waiting for the holy water to come flying any minute but he just narrowed his eyes.
"Undercover?" Morgan questioned. "Is that where you've been?" he asked.
"Partly my fault." Dean spoke up and everyone looked to him. " I thought she would be best for the operation, turns out I was right." He nodded and everyone seemed to buy the lie.
"You a fed now?" Morgan asked Dean.
"More of a consulting third-party." Dean nodded and I watched Penelope hide her smile. She knew exactly what he actually was and was trying her best to keep her mouth shut. I smiled at her and she winked at me.
"Consulting third-party?" An unfamiliar voice laughed and everyone seemed to sigh and roll their eyes. "Sounds made up if you asked me." A short stocky looking young man pushed through David and JJ. He did so with enough force to literally push them out of the way.
"Don't recall anyone asking you." Penelope whispered form Derek's side as I looked over at the young man.
He was short and his hair was pushed back to make him look better than he did. His suit was expensive and his watch was very shiny. He had his hands on his hips and pushed his jacket out-of-the-way to show off his gun. His badge was on his belt as well and he had this very uneasy creepy smile that I bet he thought was charming. He stood straight to make him look taller and when I caught a glimpse of his eyes as he walked around me eyeing me up and down they were very pale and dark brown. He walked around me like I was some sort of punk kid he was trying to intimidate.
"and who are you?" I asked stepping away from him and next to Dean who just stared at this guy who wouldn't take his eyes off me. His eyes weren't even looking into mine, that was the problem. They seemed to settle around my chest and hips. I watched as he stared and then how the other seemed to just bite their tongues.
"Clara meet your replacement... SSA Asher Quinn." Rossi said with a bit of anger in his voice.
Asher looked me up and down again only this time really slow and he smiled once he finally looked me in the eye. "You must me Clara Walsh." He smirked. "It is a pleasure to meet you." he stuck out his small hand and shook mine tightly. "Apparently I had some big shoes to fill... but damn I didn't know they were so damn fine... if you know what I mean." he said leaning in a bit with a wink.
"Unfortunately I do." I said stepping back as Dean couldn't help but laugh to himself at this very cheesy and cocky man.
"Well you can just call me Ash." He winked again.
"I'm not going to call you that." I said taking my hand back before he could do anything else with it. I stood straight and spoke in a demeaning tone.
"Alright jezz." He threw his arms up. "Just trying to be friendly." he said shaking his head.
"Well maybe stop trying to be friendly and get your reports done." Hotchner stepped up and Asher turned to him with an odd look.
"I will... eventually." He said with a shrug.
"Why don't you go now." I smiled at Asher and he shot me a dirty look. "Plus I need to talk to the team so..."
"I'm part of the team." He snapped back quickly.
"Well technically yes but I don't need to talk to you." I flashed him the same cocky smile he had on earlier. "So go be annoying and creepy somewhere else." I nodded.
"You can't talk to me like that!" He snapped as everyone started to laugh a bit. He quickly stepped up to me and Dean stepped in.
"She just did, now run along before we have a problem." Dean said looking down at Asher. I smiled watching Asher just stare nervously at Dean. He was a lot smaller than Dean and could b taken out with in a second. "As Agent Hotcher pointed out... don't you have some paperwork to do?" Dean said and Asher stepped back and walked away with a huff. "What a douche." He laughed.
"Oh you have no idea." JJ laughed as everyone smiled at Dean.
"We all wanna just punch him." Penelope giggled.
"Since when did you get violent... thought your way was with words." I laughed.
"Oh no this guy... uh he just gets under my skin." Penelope huffed.
"Please tell us you have come back to stay this time?" JJ said with a beg and they all listened carefully.
I sighed as I looked up at Dean. "Not yet." Everyone sighed and Hotch just stared at me. " But I promise I will soon. I just got this one thing I am trying to work out. Speaking of which... Hotch we gotta talk." I said looking up to him.
"I agree." He nodded and he and Dean headed to his office first.
"Be right back... then maybe we could all go get a drink?" I asked and everyone smiled.
"Yes! I got some news for you." Penelope jumped with a wink. She hugged me quickly before following Morgan to his desk. I smiled at them, then I jogged up the stairs and walked into Hotch's office.
It was quiet in Hotch's office and Dean stood on one side and I walked over and stood just a bit away from him. Hotch said nothing as he walked around to his side of the desk and placed some files around and then with a long deep sigh looked up. First at Dean, he shook his head then over at me.
"I'm going to assume you are you." He asked.
"You hung up before I could say anything." I pointed out. "Plus I passed the test right." I said point to the rug by the door. I remembered he had painted a devil's trap just to be safe. "If I wasn't I'd be over there." I smiled. "Why the hell did you hang up on me?" I got defensive.
"Yeah well excuse me for thinking once people die, they should actually stay that way." He looked over to Dean quickly. "What did you do? How many years?" He asked.
"What?" Dean asked.
"How many years did you get this time Winchester?" he asked shaking his head. Dean was quiet and still confused. "Last time you sold your soul you got what a year? Get even less this time around?"
"He didn't sell his soul." I answered. "An angel... well Castiel brought me back." I said.
"Seriously?" Hotch looked over at Dean.
"Yeah angels can be real dicks but some of them are alright." Dean scoffed.
I smiled over at Dean when he talked about the angels. I watched his smile fell and only came back when he looked at me. "And Sam?" Hotch asked and Dean dropped his smile again.
"He's... well not riding with me." Dean said standing straight.
"Good, because I'm warning you right now if I ever see Sam I'm going to kick his ass." Hotch said finally standing straight.
"What?" I couldn't help but laugh at Hotch.
"What?" Hotch questioned me with a small smirk. it still blew my mind when ever Hotch got protective. "Now that the cage is open what happens now?" Hotch looked over at Dean.
"We thought you would know." I said.
"Well..." Hotch sat and so did I. Dean stood behind me and as Hotch continued to speak he paced. "Now that Lucifer is free... something I never thought I would say... he would be searching for his vessel." Hotch nodded. "Do we know who they are?"
"No." I said but did had a different answer.
"Yes." he spoke at the same time and I looked back at him quickly.
"You know?" I asked and Dean sighed as he rubbed his face and ran a hand through his hair messing it up a bit.
"Well I know Micheal's..." he said looking down and scratching the back of his head.
"Alright we need to find him or her." Hotch nodded and looked to me with a shrug. "Who is it?"
Deep sighed deeply and looked up. "Me." He shrugged.
"Oh seriously?" I sighed hunching over a bit and putting my head in my hands. "It's never going to end is it..." I sighed.
"Hey, this isn't exactly my fault... I didn't ask for this."
"No, I should just stop being so surprised that you or Sam are in the middle of literally everything."
"Alright so what's going on?" I asked as I sat down across the table from Penelope and Derek. Dean had stayed back to talk to Hotch and get more information on vessels and what not but I needed a little break from that dilemma. They had told me to meet them at the bar just down the street from the BAU and when I got there they both had these really mysterious smiles to them.
"Well we wanted to tell you earlier but certain circumstances got in the way." Derek said. "Actually we wanted to tell you like a month ago but apparently you were undercover." Derek laughed. "Which you still have to explain by the way." He said taking a drink of his beer. The waiter had come around and just put a class in front of me.
"Oh and we ordered for you. Scotch still good for you?" Penelope asked.
"Would you both stop stalling." I laughed as I took a drink. "Out with it already." I said with a sigh.
Penelope looked over at Derek and just smiled at him. I slowly took a drink and before I could swallow Penelope stuck her arm out and flashed her left hand just in front of my face. I nearly spit the scotch from my mouth when I saw the shine of the massive diamond on her finger. "We're getting married." She almost shrieked as she wiggled her fingers.
"Holy shit." I exhaled swallowing quickly before I choked. I grabbed her hand quickly and looked at the ring. "Jesus Derek could it be any bigger." I smiled looked up at them.
"What can I say I know she likes flash." Derek smiled putting an arm around Penelope's shoulders and kissing her forehead.
"You two are getting married." I smiled and stood up quickly. "Oh my god you're getting married." I have no idea why I was so happy but the smile on my face made Penelope jumped up and giggle.
"We're getting married." She said and I quickly hugged her.
"Congratulations." I said walking over and hugging Derek. "Tell me how it happened." I smiled as I sat back down and took another drink. I don't know what it was but I saw how happy Derek and Penelope were and I couldn't help but be jealous.
"Well like I said we wanted to tell you when it happened but you were MIA... it was about a month ago." Derek started.
"He took me to dinner after they got back from a tough case and he told me all about it and before I knew it he was on one knee." Penelope said looking at her hand.
"Aw how sweet." I smiled taking another drink. "So I'm guess you set a date?" I asked hoping it was soon so they could actually be married before the world went to shit.
"May 18th." Penelope said.
"Wow, well it does give you a long time to plan." I smiled. I sighed a bit because I knew what could happen by the time May comes around. I was really hoping they would just want to elope and get married like next week.
"Another subject we need to discuss." Penelope said sitting forward.
"Alright..." I said trailing off.
"Dean?" Penelope questioned.
"What about him?" I asked and noticed Penelope looking behind me. I turned and noticed him by the door. He looked at me and he did not look to happy. "Oh no." I sighed.
"Something wrong?" Derek asked.
"Um... no... would you two excuse me?" I asked getting up and walking over to him. "What?" I asked quickly knowing he had something on his mind.
"I just got off the phone with Sam." he sighed looking down. I sighed and took a deep breath.
"Alright, what did he say." I said quickly just trying to get him to talk faster.
"Maybe we should go somewhere..." he said.
"No one is paying attention to us plus Penelope was going to ask me something important so please... just out with it." I begged.
"Sam is Lucifer's vessel." Dean said straightening his back.
"Oh my God." I said covering my mouth and the gasp. I honestly didn't see that coming, why the hell- oh right the demon blood. I sighed again. "So what do we do about it?" I asked.
"Nothing. He wanted back in but I said no."
"What why?" I asked.
Dean looked at me like I should know the answer. "You know damn well why." Dean said with a sigh.
"Look I know Sam lied and went behind your back but come on... are you really going to let something like that get between you two?" I asked with a sigh. "He is still your brother."
Dean laughed. "Yea a brother who betrayed my trust, chose a demon, oh and you know killed you!" He yelled in a hush. "So excuse me if I don't exactly want to be around him right now." Dean said pushing past me and heading toward the bar.
"Dean..." I started but he was gone before I could say anything else. I sighed and shook my head. He would sit alone at the bar and drink for a few hours so I thought it was alright to go back to Penelope and Derek.
"Is he alright?" Penelope asked as she watched Dean headed for the bar.
"Yeah he will be." I smiled kindly.
"What happened?" Penelope asked.
"Oh you know stupid sibling rivalry." I shrugged taking a quick drink.
" Rivalry?" Penelope asked with shock. "Oh my god what happened? You have to tell me... right now." Penelope sounded panicked.
"Would you relax." I laughed looking over at Derek who seemed very confused. "You two have bigger news...and you were going to ask me something." I said trying to get off the subject of Sam and Dean. "Penelope I swear I'll tell you all about it one day but... can we please get back on track here." I said with a smile.
"Derek..." Penelope looked over to him. "Would you be a doll and get us another round..." She smiled and batted her eyelashes at him.
"You got it." Derek smiled at Penelope and kissed her cheek.
Once Derek was gone Penelope looked at me and smiled. "Now I know your life is busy and very complicated... so you can say no and I swear I will not hold it against you." She said with a sigh. "I really want you at my wedding." She said.
"I wouldn't miss it for the world." I smiled.
"Good.. then I want you in my wedding..." She said with a big smile. "I would really love it if you would be my maid of honour." She said closing her eyes like she was ready for the no.
"Oh are you serious?" I asked with a little laugh. "Wouldn't JJ be better at that job?" I asked. "Penelope I have never actually been to a wedding... and I-"
"Hey I said it was okay if you said no... I just..." She sighed.
I watched as Penelope looked down and suddenly I felt sad and very happy. "Of course." I said and she looked what quickly with a smile. "If you want me there, I'll put on any dress you pick out." I smiled and she started jumping quickly.
"Oh my god yay!" She jumped and hugged me quickly. "Look don't worry about details and stuff like that, JJ said she would help me with anything I needed but I figured with Henry still small she would be busy too... Plus we have lots of time." She sighed happily.
"You haven't told anyone about... you know..." I asked.
"Don't worry I am the only one who knows anything about your double life..." She smiled.
"You gonna tell your future husband." I smiled with a wink.
"What are the chances he'll believe me." She laughed.
"Good point." I laughed.
A few hours had gone by while the three of us talked. Derek told me about the cases they had been working. I made up a lie about my undercover work and I could see Penelope knew I was lying but Derek bought it. It was getting late before they left and I sat alone for a minute before I noticed Dean still sitting at the end of the bar hammering down drink after drink.
"Come on." I said pulling at his arm to turn him. "We should go." I sighed and he looked up at me.
"Go where?" He asked with a small smile.
"Back to the motel. You need to sleep off all those drinks." I shook my head at him as I took his hand and pulled him up. As we walked out of the bar I noticed the Impala parked right in front and I looked at him. "Keys." I demanded.
"Oh hell no. We may be sleeping together but you are not driving my baby." He laughed as he pushed away from me and dug around in his pockets. He checked his jeans first and before he checked his jacket I quickly slipped my hand in and grabbed them without him even noticing. I smiled as he patted his pockets for about five minutes. I jingled them in my hands and he looked over quickly.
"I already died once this year... don't want to die in a car thank you." I laughed as I walked over to the driver side and Dean just froze in his spot. I looked up at him and he was not smiling. He looked angry. "Dean... it was a joke." I said.
"It's not funny." He shook his head.
"You really need to let it go... I have." I smiled as I walked over and had to push him to the car. Once we got back to the motel Dean got out quickly and looked at his car quickly. "Oh would you stop.. I didn't hurt your precious." I laughed at him.
"With your driving I'm surprised you didn't." He barked at me.
"Are you kidding, you drive worse than I do." I laughed as I walked over to him. "Come on." I shook my head grabbing his hand. I opened the door and walked in first. "Now you go shower, and in the morning we can figure out what we are going to do." I smiled as he walked in after me and shut the door.
"Do about what?" He asked.
"You know killing Lucifer so he doesn't take over Sam and the whole world." I shook my head. "Whether you like it or not you are going to have to call Sam, you need each other on this one." I said and he sighed.
Before Dean could say anything his phone rang. When Dean said it was Cas I rolled my eyes and decided to shower first. It had been a long and very weird day. I mean I guess I shouldn't be surprised that Sam and Dean were the biggest pieces in the angel's game of chess but it was still weird. Then there was Morgan and Garcia getting married. I always thought they belonged together but I never thought I would be standing in their wedding, something I have never actually witnessed. I sighed as I got out and heard nothing. I quickly go redressed and found Dean laying on the bed just staring at the ceiling.
"So what did Cas have to offer?" I asked walking over and sitting next to him.
"The colt." Dean said.
"Like the colt?" I asked and he nodded. "He know where it is?" I asked
"Seems like it." Dean huffed. "Hey what did your friends want?" Dean sat up and looked at me.
I smiled with a sigh. "Turns out I missed a lot while I was gone." I sighed. "Derek and Penelope are getting married." I shrugged.
"People still do that?" Dean laughed as he got up throwing his phone on the night stand.
"Well normal people." I shrugged. Dean looked back at me like it was a jab at him but I didn't mean it like that. "Another reason we have to stop the world from burning. They want to get hitched in May." I said.
"Wait we have to stop the apocalypse because two people want to get married?" he laughed.
"Yes." I answered. "I mean that's the point right... fight so everyone can live their lives?" I asked. "And they love each other and have been through a lot.. they deserve that much." I said looking up at him.
Dean laughed. "Wooh wait who we talking about here? Them or you?" He asked crossing his arms.
"What?" I asked not understanding Dean's anger. "In no way is this about me... they want to get married... not me." I laughed.
"Oh really?" he asked. "I thought that was like a thing every girl wanted?" Dean huffed.
"Yeah girls who have the option." I said shaking my head. "Girls who have a normal life." I said. "What is your problem?" I asked.
"Nothing?" He shrugged. "Just didn't think you were expecting a ring from me." Dean said rolling his eyes.
"I know your drunk but did someone slip you something?" I asked. "Trust me that is like the last thing I want from anyone." I shook my head.
"Whatever, why are we even talking about this?" Dean asked walking away.
"You asked." I said and he looked back at me.
Dean huffed and walked into the bathroom. The shower started quickly and I was left sitting alone and very confused. Dean got very defensive for no reason. Not once have I ever asked Dean for anything in the ways of getting married. I didn't even see the point when I knew that it was just a matter of time before we were both dead. Plus I knew he was against marriage too so I still have no idea why Dean was s angry but I chose to ignore his nonsense for once. I laid back and slowly closed my eyes. No point in dwelling on something I was never going to understand. I just had to focus on the end of days and getting Dean and Sam back to fighting together.
