The four had been training hard, though they were curious as to why the guardians hadn't been watching them as often, today they had decided to take a break, well most of them.
Merida still had her sword out and was training with one of the yetis as the other three watched.
"Merida why don't you sit down for a break?" Hiccup asked her as Merida was finally knocked down for what appeared to be the fifth time.
"Because they're countin on us and I am not going to let this chance go to waste." Merida explained sheathing her sword and sitting down with them
"Oh come on you can't be serious," Jack said to her rolling his eyes a little bit "You know for a princess you do an awful lot of fighting." he added to her, Merida shrugged a little bit
"Well I neva asked to be a princess, sides I dun wanna be a traditional princess and do everythin i'm told my whole life.' Merida said to him she looked to rapunzel then, as the blonde poured over the drawing she was making of one of the elves.
"What about you?" Rapunzel looked up puzzled by suddenly being addressed in a conversation she was pretty sure she had no part in
"What about me?"
"You've told us all bout yer mum and how she makes ya do everythin inside that tower, dun ya just wish that you could run away to the outside and do what you want?" Merida asked her Rapunzel looked down suddenly very interested in a bell that had fallen off of an elf's hat as she began to play with it
"W-well yes." Rapunzel said quietly "But mother says the outside world is dangerous and frankly from what i'm seeing here it looks like it really can be." Rapunzel said to her shrugging a little
"So what when this is all over you're just going to go back to sitting in that tower for the rest of your life?" Jack asked her Rapunzel didn't answer them but the three knew the answer North came back then causing all three to straighten up a bit as he looked over them
"Time to go home." North said Rapunzel nodded, she had been the only one allowed to go home so that her mother wouldn't freak out and when Gothel would leave for the day, Bunymund would bring her to the workshop and when training was done she would go home so for her to assume North was talking to her was understandable, but he stopped her and handed each Merida and Hiccup one of his globes.
"You are free to leave." He explained confusing the two teens upon seeing this North began to explain
"You have all worked hard but if your hearts are not in your work, then this will only end in failure, so we have decided to allow you to leave, if you come back this means you will take responsibilities of being one of the four guardians." North said to them looking at Jack and rapunzel also "If not, then we will proceed to next generation of guardians." he explained the four all looked at each other confused and North also handed a final globe to rapunzel,
"You may go home, if your families ask you may tell them of what has happened but do not expect much belief." North said before he turned and walked away leaving the four who all turned to each other. There was a long pause between the group as if they were all trying to decide who would speak first or what to do first.

"So….is this it?" Rapunzel asked them finally after what felt like an eternity of silence. Hiccup shrugged a little bit
"I don't know." He admitted looking down at the globe "I mean while this is kind of interesting it's a lot of risk to be responsible like this." Merida nodded her agreement
"Aye, it's a lot of pressure to put on four teens." she agreed
"Well I have this pressure all the time, i guard kids childhood dreams." Jack said shrugging a little bit Rapunzel looked down at her globe
"if mother caught me….she'd be furious." she said with a small smile
"My mum won't believe a word i tell er." Merida said shrugging
"Hey my friends already came and know I don't know how my dad's going to react, probably along the same lines as to how he reacted to toothless." Hiccup said all eyes fell on Jack then who just smiled a bit at them
"Hey I don't have much of a choice to do this, i learned a while ago if the moon tells you to do something, do it." Jack told them there was another long pause between the etire group as they seemed to be lost in thought, they were only snapped out of it when Rapunzel was the first to toss her globe and open the portal
"I have to go before mother finds out i'm gone." Rapunzel said she hugged each of her new friends and smiled "I guess good bye." Rapunzel said before she went through the portal and disappeared into her tower.

Hiccup was the next to toss his globe up he looked at them with a small smile as toothless nudged him to say good bye
"Take care of yourselves alright you guys?" he asked Jack nodded
"you too, keep your girlfriend in check." Jack said Hiccup laughed a bit
"Yeah cause i control anything astrid does." Hiccup said Merida smiled
"Try not to get used as a toothpick by some of those other dragons." Merida said Hiccup nodded a bit before he and Toothless disappeared through the portal leaving the princess and the frost bite.
They stood awkwardly for a minute unsure of what to say to each other considering they both knew they had a bit of a rocky start.
"Try not to get yourself killed ok?" Jack finally asked her with a smile, Merida couldn't help a small laugh and she nodded
"Only if ya try to get some more people to believe in ya so you won't be my problem." Merida said to him Jack laughed a bit and nodded Merida turned around and tossed the globe opening the portal and stepping through when it closed, Jack was alone. Jack knew he should have been used to this by now but he still felt kind of sad. Jack headed outside then figuring he owed Jamie an explination of why he hadn't been around.

the guardians all watched from the window of North's office watching him go.
"Ya sure this is a good idea mate?" Bunny asked frowning a little bit at him North shrugged a bit
"Worth shot isn't it?" he asked "When they come back-"
"if they come back," Bunnymund corrected North gave a big sigh and nodded
"Yes bunny if they come back, we will see how things go, if they still are not working well we take drastic measures and show them previous guardians now." North said to him
"Sure finding out where they are now and how things turned out will do them good."
"We have to find them all first though." Tooth said to him "I mean Violet's been relocated so many times and should we even dare think about-"
"Don't even mention his name." Bunny said crossly with a small glare cutting tooth off, but she gave a small nod in understanding
"But that's exactly my point." Tooth said North shrugged
"We will give them a week before we give up on them, till then we try and find previous four, we will each look for one we picked. Bunny do not confront him." North said to him Bunnymund nodded before he disappeared down a hole, Sandy took off to try and search for his and Tooth did the same following in persuit. North sat in his chair and looked over a small photograph on his desk of the four and sighed
"Manny my old frined, please just let this work."
