All I own is the ideas and sub-plots used to make this fanfiction and explore Log Horizon and Naruto in a different way. Also, don't own any of the games and anime I make reference to in this story, but still got to give homage to video games since this is technically a video game fanfiction as well.
Kakashi peeked into a small classroom. Oh, there's Kakashi!
"Iruka, where do you want these books?" Kakashi asked, walking into a classroom with seeing Iruka in the room and putting books up on a shell.
"Kakashi!" Kakashi froze with Obito jumped before him. "There you are!... Ah?" Obito waved his hand before the female Assassin's face. "How the hell do you manage to faint standing?" Obito said, realizing Kakashi was unresponsive. And why do you keep fainting when Rin and I surprise you?
"Obito! Stop messing with Kakashi!" Obito yelped with getting a whacked to the head from Iruka. "When will you realize surprising her will always end up like this? PTSD is a pretty nasty condition." Iruka sighed, waking Kakashi up with a slight tap to the head. "You alright Kakashi?"
"A-Ah yeah," Kakashi said, blushing, "And don't fuss at Obito. I am just still getting over the fact Obito and Rin are around again."
"Kakashi. We are alive and not going anywhere." Obito sighed, pouting, "When will you get that through your thick head? Though, it seems that's the only thing that has stayed the same to ya."
"Obito, our death took a toll on Kakashi. I believe you never lost any major family members, right?" Obito turned around, seeing Rin walk in with some books.
"Yeah. I was an orphan and not many of my clan were close with me," Obito sighed, looking away from Rin. But, I don't get why Kakashi has changed so much. In some ways, I like the old Kakashi. Especially now that Kakashi got boobs. Obito glared at his rival only to blush with realizing at where he was aiming it.
"It's alright. Just give me some time," Kakashi said, eye smiling sheepishly at the others. "In some ways, I am just happy Rin and Obito are alive. Even if I am still getting over the fact they are no longer dead."
"Though, I'm just amazed you been on time with helping out for both the Crescent Burger and now." Obito raised an eyebrow at Iruka addressing him before seeing Kakashi sweat. "You were always late for a lot of things back in Konoha." Obito noticed Iruka wasn't looking at him, but Kakashi... And it then clicked.
"Whoa, whoa. Mister Rules was late?" Obito asked, smirking at Kakashi. "What is this about? You were always nagged me for being late."
"He would use lame excuses, too, like he got lost on the path of life and such." Itachi chuckled, making Kakashi squirm.
"Wait... Kakashi, you were mimicking Obito?" Rin asked, all three looking at Kakashi with shock.
"Yeah... But only because I did not want people to know I was visiting your graves." Kakashi sighed, putting the books on the teacher desk in the room. "I would lose sense of time when I talked to you both at your graves. Pathetic, huh?"
Kakashi, Obito thought, wide eyed at his teammate. Our deaths affected you so badly?... Oh, yeah. He was such a tightwad due to his father committing suicide. But, now death is no longer permanent. Obito thought before realizing something. "Hey, with how everyone's been reviving back home, doesn't that mean our parents will be reviving as well?" Obito asked, joy feeling his eyes. I can finally meet my parents!
"Ah, that's right." Iruka somberly smiled, "In the latest meeting with the Hokage, revivals have slowed down, but have formed a steady pattern. They are predicting that within a year or two, everyone who have died from the end of the Warring Ear to now will be alive again. Though, we also still have no clue when the two worlds will combine."
"Konoha is already investigating it on their side, right?" Rin asked, smiling. "With the council here also looking into it, I am sure things will go well. I mean, things have changes so fast in the last three days alone."
"Yeah. It was really gloomy before. Now, everyone has celebrated every day, enjoying the food and such." Kakashi chuckled, "I'm just happy we got the kids out of Hamelin safely and I have my Icha Icha Paradise back."
"You and that book." Iruka sighed, seeing Kakashi had pulled out her copy of Icha Icha Paradise. "But, I am still shocked Shiroe and Naruto managed to take down Hamelin. And while doing the conference at the same time. I was expecting things to be rough with what they pulled, but Akiba has become very peaceful instead." Iruka picked up the books Kakashi brought, taking them over to the bookshelf he was filling. "We are even making an academy for all the Adventurers, which is kind of ironic since I am an academy teacher."
"That's good to hear since we are not so much teachers ourselves," Obito looked at the doorway to see Krusty of D.D.D. and Isaac from Black Sword Knights walking into the classroom. "Though, we saw Boss is busy with the baby shower a few rooms down." Krusty said with a chuckle.
"Y-Yeah," Obito said, sweating like the others. "Maryelle refused to let Itachi&Kisame-san not have a baby shower even though both Cresent Moon Alliance and Log Horizon is still settling their new homes. Still trying to get how Itachi&Kisame-san is loving the gifts."
"Y-Yeah. Sure, I might like raiding and such, but man is the Crazy Bullet Witch bloodthirsty." Isaac sighed, slightly shivering.
Ah, that might be Kisame-san's personality coming out with what I learnt. Though, I can't get how two people can be in one body. Obito thought, all of the Konoha ninja remembering the fact Itach&iKisame was two people in one body. Though, what the hell did they give her to get her excited like that.
"We are shinobi to begin with and some of us do enjoy battle a bit too much." Iruka said, letting out a sigh. "Though, I keep finding Itachi&Kisame-san oddly fitting for Naruto with how ruthless she is."
"Indeed. The Shiroe and, ah, Naruto have shown Villains in Glasses is a bit too meek." Krusty chuckled, "Though, oddly enough, it seems Itachi&Kisame-san has found a new found love of making clothing. She was getting bloodthirsty with wanting to rip up the fabric some of the girls holding the party given her, comparing it to ripping up body parts. I think she's getting Naruto's crafting habits with seeing how he crafts when he repaired armor for me."
"They are indeed a happy married couple after all." Obito laughed, his face drained of blood, What the hell is with all the weirdos here? Out of everyone I met so far, only Rin, Kakashi, Iruka, and Akatsuki-chan are normal! Even my only family members are weird. Obito let his head sink. All the kids they saved from Hamelin even had quirks about them that Obito found odd. But, then again, can I really say anything against them with how odd I am.
Obito looked at his status screen, something he found he did a lot. He was now at level 20 as an Assassin, though when he first woke up he was level 1. Yet, from what the others told me, I have been force to earn a lot more EXP to level up. Even with having slightly higher stats compared to my level for defense and stamina. It's just really odd considering Kakashi and Rin were in the 30s ending up here. Obito pondered, fighting this odd feeling something wasn't right.
"But, what you all need us here for?" Isaac sighed, "Though, I don't see how I can be much help since I run a top quality battle guild. I don't got time to help out weaklings that can't keep up."
"Ah, well, actually you can." Iruka said, smiling at the two guild masters. "Part of Konoha's education for ninja in training was also have experienced ninja do lectures and demonstrations for classes. We are hoping that all the guilds of the Round Table Alliance could spare some members to help us with the opening of the Adventurer Academy. The first week or so will be simply figuring out what everyone wants out of the academy, but it would be great to have experienced Adventurers in both battle and crafting to give the beginners demonstrations to help them figure out what they want to do."
"That's a good idea." Krusty said, nodding, "Also, it would be good for battle guilds as we can't keep raiding all the time, so rotating out the members out to teach and battle can help keep fatigue down as well among the whole guild."
"Exactly." Kakashi sighed, "Though I rarely taught at the academy, constant battles only result in total fatigue and creating a greater risk of death. Hence ninja were forced to take breaks in between major missions, be it to teach or do training, to keep from overdoing it. Though, sadly, there are some who do push it like I did in the past."
"Though, what do we get out of it? If I remember correctly, the academy is free for people to use. It's funding comes from Santa's Workshop, right?" Isaac asked.
"We are going to be using it for all levels of classes and subclasses. That includes classes for high level Adventurers." Iruka said, pointing at the books on the shelves in the classroom. "We are also building a library of information for Adventurers here that the Round Table Alliance make, hence making it an important resource for battle and crafting guilds alike. Those who help us out will most likely get first dibs on new information as it comes out. Also, as part of Konoha's part of the deal, those of us from Konoha will be teaching what we know about battles and such. Though, as far as I seen, the battle tactics the battle guilds know are far superior to shinobi and kunoichi."
"Really?" Krusty adjusted his glasses, "Is it because of this new system of battle you are adjusting to or is it more?"
"Both." Kakashi said, reading his book. "Though this system is challenging to master, it is better than the old. It needs teamwork to really work compared to the one we knew where one ninja could easily just focus on himself and survive easily, sometimes putting no effort of teamwork. Though, that also lead to more conflicts and possible death, it was what many people went towards. Here, you can't do that as much. You can solo, but fighting together is far easier than in the old world that it makes me think we were all idiots. Which is ironic considering Konoha tries to specialize in teamwork, yet even we have major kinks."
"That's quite a statement." Isaac said, "Though, I think I can spare some people to help out. Though, I wonder if the Fairy King will be able to teach with how busy he has been?"
"Why the hell do people keep calling that brat Fairy King?" Obito pouted, I mean, sure, I want to still be Hokage, but even I feel vexed with a twelve year old managing to make himself the same thing in just a matter of days!
"It's a pun." Krusty said, slightly chuckling. "Naruto is a well known GM mostly due to he actually uses normal status characters for his work as a GM. Yet, he had been known to take down a Full Raid Dungeon with just three normal status characters he was all controlling. Hence many on the forums called him the GM King, Game King, and such when it was still a game. However, it is well known he hates being called that along with other titles due to his trolling of such forum threads to get them to stop calling him that."
"Hence the perfect karmic backlash for what he did." Isaac chuckle, "The Fairy part is just cherry on top. Though, he is also probably the best one to lead the council considering the only two on the council remotely good at politics is those two villains."
"True. Though, you should know Naruto is a dropout from the ninja academy." Iruka said, getting shock looks from the two guild masters. "He dropped out after I yelled at him for pulling a prank. The reason Kakashi and I ended up in this place was due to I went to his apartment with some of my students to try and convince him to come back. The Hokage already told me they are changing the system with realizing how talented Naruto was, but his skills lied outside the common skills shinobi and kunoichi have that we were not teaching. Hence we are hoping for your help once Konohagakure does appear in this world as there is many things both sides need to learn."
"I understand." Krusty chuckled, "However, if a brand new world is fusing with this one, I am very curiosity of what kind of raid content will appear."
[A lot. Though, it seems the two worlds are trying to eliminate down the ultimate ninja raid content.] Everyone blinked at the textbox. "Hait."
"Ack!" Obito jumped, turning around to see Naruto standing behind him. "Don't do that!"
"You just made Kakashi faint earlier," Iruka chuckled with getting a glare from Obito.
"Huh? What are you talking about, Fairy King?" Isaac asked, though smirking at the annoyed boy.
[You going to milk that all it's worth. Just wait for when I get free time and begin Akiba's first prank war.] Obito paled at the boy.
How is this immature brat a king? Obito thought, frowning at the Naruto.
[However, it was a good call to have the Old Man delete the game data off my computer in the village. There has been no signs of the raid boss that took out all the people working on Elder Tales appearing in Konoha.] Naruto stretched, his back popping.
"That's right. Everyone who was working on the game in your world has been killed off. Are you sure it is a raid boss?" Krusty asked, though Isaac looked at the boy with shock.
[The fact several of the people murdered had the special title that allowed them to be revived within a day if hit with a spell and really died gives me a hint it's not a normal killer. At best, possibly a raid boss or special item caused it. However, it is more so with the new information the Old Man gave me that has been realizing this world is hell bend on keeping one thing sealed.]
"One thing sealed?" Obito asked, And why do I have a feeling of déjà vu?
[Not going to jinx it. I, too, would rather that be left alone, However, many criminal ninja are beginning to disappear in the world. There records marking them as dead. Same goes for major criminals outside such fields. Which is odd considering we managed to confirm Itachi&Kisame's record only wiped out all her crimes in both Konoha and Kiri and replaced with the character she is now in. My guess is the raid boss that wiped out all the computer data and employees are now taking out lingering threads that did not tie themselves to a village like other criminals with realizing now they can revive if with a ninja village.] Naruto let out a tired sigh. [And remind me to never deliver food for a baby shower again. I ended up a freaking dress up doll for two hours.]
"You full well deserve that, King." Isaac howled with laughed as the others chuckled. However, Obito looked at Naruto wide eyed.
A monster killing criminals? Obito thought, finding himself looking straight at Naruto in his eyes. I keep having this weird dream of a shadow taking me down. But-
[Let sleeping dogs lie.] Obito blinked at the text box before his face before realizing the others could not see it.
Private text box? Obito thought before looking back at Naruto. You know what really happened, don't you. Obito glared at the Druid.
[There's a saying on Earth involving stories. "You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain." This world is trying to make you think you did the first. However, I think it is nice it is doing that even through it's cruel methods. With seeing what your past was like, it is quite sad you were forced down such a dark path before.] Obito kept a straight face as Naruto smirked. [Enjoy the second chance and take advantage of it. I don't know if this world will give a third chance if you go back that path again.]
Naruto... Just who are you? Obito thought before noticing the others making joke about Naruto and making Naruto fuss at them through his text boxes. But, then again, who am I really? Did I really die in that cave in or something else kill me? Obito pondered before letting it go with Rin getting Kakashi and him to help her get more books.
