Nora's Needs Chapter 2: Return of the Queen
AKA Holy Shit I Can't Believe I'm Actually Writing This
A/N: "I'm not making a sequel to this." And here we are, 10 months later. Now stop asking.
It's also painfully obvious that I'm out of practice.
"I still don't get it. Could you, er, explain it easier? Because right now this just isn't making any sense to me."
Pyrrha held back a sigh. Some days she really regretted agreeing to help Jaune; the boy could be so dim. The past hour and a half had crawled along at a snail's pace and even she, master of optimism, was an inch away from simply giving up. Of course, that annoying little voice in the back of her head kept her pressing on, convinced that it was worth the time and effort.
"Pyrrha?"
"Huh?" Pyrrha's head jumped up from where it had been resting on her fist, startled.
"Can you explain that last part again?"
"Oh, right. Actually Jaune, I think… uh… Nora! How good to see you!"
The hastily thought-of and admittedly poor excuse Pyrrha was going to use to get away for a while died in her throat at the sudden appearance of their teammate.
"Hel-lo!" Nora sang. She lounged across the back of Pyrrha's chair, gripping the girl's shoulders in what Pyrrha supposed was supposed to be some sort of massage but felt more like an attempt to break her collarbones. "Whatcha doing?"
"Oh, we were just stud-"
"Booooring!" Nora cut in to Jaune's unnecessary comment. "Let's go do something more fun!"
"That actually sounds great!" Jaune said, quickly making to pack up his materials.
"Actually, I meant more me-and-Pyrrha doing something," Nora said, suddenly serious. Jaune looked absolutely crushed, but at least it appeared the implications of Nora's statement had gone over his head.
"Sorry Jaune," Pyrrha said lightly as Nora began to drag her away, "but she is the queen of the castle."
Jaune watched them go with sullen eyes before dejectedly looking back down at his texts.
"Oh!" Pyrrha's head and arms appeared around the corner. For some strange reason, it looked as though it was taking her an extreme amount of effort to do so. "Remember: an Ursa's weak spot is right beneath its…"
Pyrrha never got to finish her sentence as her hands lost their grip and she went violently flying back around the corner. It was almost as if something extremely strong had been trying to drag her back the whole time.
Jaune sighed and let his head crash into the table. Ren, who had actually been there the entire time yet everyone had failed to notice his presence, gave him a consoling pat on the back.
It didn't take Nora long to find the darkest, most secluded corner Beacon's halls had to offer and proceed to shove Pyrrha into it. Not even a second later and their mouths were in a vicious fight for dominance that Nora naturally won with ease.
"Nora… mmm… not that I don't already like… ah! - love where this is going, but can you… mmm! -hold on for a minute?" Pyrrha breathed out inbetween forceful kisses.
"What!?" Nora said incredulously, but she backed off all the same. "Why?"
"I…" Pyrrha murmured, struggling to find the words she had been rehearsing for the past week, "Nora, I… I like you a lot. You're fun, cute, and definitely an exciting person to be around, and the things you do to me are wonderful, but I just can't do this anymore." Pyrrha hung her head, a rare thing from the normally confident redhead, but she simply couldn't bring herself to meet Nora's gaze.
Instead, a small hand cupped her cheek and did it for her. Strong teal eyes pierced into her, but there was no telling what was going on in the mind behind them.
"What do you mean?" Nora finally asked, her tone indescribable.
Pyrrha felt herself being reinvigorated by the sheer aura of strength Nora constantly emanated. Any reservations she had before about expressing her feelings melted away like tears in the rain.
"I can't be the person you come to for empty sex whenever you feel the need. It took me a while to realize it, but I know now how much I care for you, and it drives me to the brink wondering if I'm hoping for too much or if possibly… the feeling is mutual?"
"What!?" Nora exclaimed quickly. In that split second, Pyrrha's heart plummeted to her stomach. But the next thing she knew, Nora had pulled her into a tight embrace. "Of course I like you, silly!"
Relief crashed over Pyrrha like a tsunami. "Really!? All this time, all those nights together, and you never could have said anything?"
"Well…" Nora said, looking sheepish, "I never really knew how to say it, so I tried showing it instead in the best way I could. I thought it was obvious! I really, really do like you, Pyrrha!"
"Well, that… settles it, then?" Pyrrha's statement came out as more of a question, bemused at how simply her confession had played out. She took a moment to regain her bearing and decide how to best move forward from this new revelation.
"You know," she stated after coming to what she thought was an apt solution, "I'm still free for a few hours, and I expect Jaune and Ren won't come looking for us anytime soon. Would you like to…!"
Nora had already anticipated the question and come up with her answer: a resounding yes. Thus, it only made sense to save Pyrrha the breath and go in for a kiss, but for some odd reason Pyrrha had stopped her by pressing two fingers to her lips.
"Can we not do it here? I've always enjoyed our sessions most when we were simply in bed."
Nora smiled with a twinkle in her eye.
Just then, two figures stumbled around the corner, their lips locked so furiously that it was a miracle either of them was breathing. In fact, the two were so engrossed in each other that they were completely oblivious to the fact that they had company.
"Ruby? Weiss? Hey guys!" Nora said cheerily.
The paler of the two new arrivals eyes shot open and with a muffled scream she forcefully pushed herself away from her partner.
"Nora!? Pyrrha!? What are you two doing here?" Weiss exclaimed as her face turned as red as the girl next to her.
"You guys know about this place too?" Ruby murmured at the same time, but she was ultimately drowned out by Weiss' shrill accusations.
"We were here first," Pyrrha said smartly. "What are you doing here?"
"I, uh, we…" Weiss stuttered, "I just… had something in my teeth, and Ruby, that dolt –"
"Hey!" Ruby said indignantly. Weiss ignored her.
" – was trying to help me get it out. That's all." Weiss finished lamely.
Nora and Pyrrha shared a quick glance.
"I see," Pyrrha remarked. "Well, we were just leaving – "
"To have hot, steamy sex!" Nora interrupted happily. Pyrrha rolled her eyes affectionately, devoid of embarrassment.
"Yes, that," Pyrrha concluded. "See you two later. Have fun!"
"Unless you want to join us?" Nora added with a devilish grin and accompanying wink.
"No!" Ruby and Weiss said, hugging each other in unison and glaring at the other couple. "She's mine!" they both said together.
"Have it your way," Nora said with a dismissive wave as Pyrrha took her other hand and lead her out of the corridor. "So greedy," Pyrrha heard her mutter once they were out of earshot.
As the door closed behind them, Pyrrha let all of her previous inhibitions melt away as her eyes locked with Nora's for what felt like the first true time. Her legs guided herself and the shorter girl over to the bed until the back of Nora's knees hit the frame and they collapsed, synchronized.
Pyrrha inhaled deeply and felt her body softly glide until she hovered an inch over Nora's nose. She would have been happy there, smiling down upon the girl she was always unsure if she would ever truly have, until Nora reached up and stole a kiss. It wasn't like the fierce and fiery ones Pyrrha had come to expect, but short, sensuous, and sweet, and it left her lips trembling.
"Nora," Pyrrha breathed, meeting her gaze with soft eyes. Everything about her was intoxicating.
Pyrrha returned the kiss with interest, peppering her lips down Nora's neck as the girl wrapped her arms around her back to draw her in closer. Pyrrha's long mane of fire-red hair cascaded down around them, mixing with Nora's and tickling her tantalizingly.
Nora felt Pyrrha's breath hot on her ear as the girl whispered:
"You're the queen of my castle."
A/N: Pyrrha is a hard character to pin down when you put her into a situation where she can't be a constant bright spot of happiness and optimism. So is Nora when she's doing something that doesn't involve explosions. Oh well.
inb4 "chapter 3 when"
I'll write chapter 3 to this when Nora and Pyrrha get together in canon. Your move, RT.
