Well, here's the 16th chapter, with a bit of Introduction for my OC: T. I thought I would not have been able to put it up, but I did. Miracles do exist! ^^ I'm so tired from night schooling... Plus day schooling... *Sigh* Well; enjoy! :)
Chapter 16: Catching Up Pt. 2.
The bells where ringing...
The church was open for the children's daily prayer. The year; 1993. Sister Lilith prayed with the children, then educating them, once finished, a last prayer. Then the children we're dismissed. A child remaining in class stayed behind. His name; Terrance Hall Clayworth; otherwise known as T. Sitting there, looking at the statue of what was supposed to be God in front of him, Terrance remained gazing at God, as if expecting something, anything, any clue that would let him know he is someone of value. That he was abandoned for a purpose; a good one at that, but those where only hopes. Hopes he wished he would just drop already. Hope only kept one behind...
"Hey freak! You think staying here will make Sister Lilith release you, and make God favor you or something?! Because if anything your the son's devil." Teased a random boy from a group of 6 children.
"Just because I can speak to people who have left this present life, does not make me the devil's son." Confirmed Terrance.
"Yeah! You keep telling yourself that freak!" Yelled out another from the group of 6.
The 6 children began to surround Terrance picking on him as usual whenever no one was around to stop them; like Watari, Roger, or Sister Lilith... One of the kids pulled out a blade, further intentions on trying to intimidate the 9 year old T. The kid with the blade finally speaking up; "You know, I really don't like you Terr. Your nothing but a freak. And freaks deserve to die." said the kid with the blade, as he grabbed Terr's jaw to scare him a bit by cutting his left side of the cheek.
Seeing how Terr had no reaction to this, the child with the blade pushed him onto the floor angry at his fail to scare T. Raising his blade, causing the other kids from quickly laughing to gasping in shock by they're friend's reaction. "I'll teach you not to look at me like that! You son of a bitch!" Yelled out the kid.
Suddenly grabbed quickly by an individual, who was obviously older then the rest of them. A 15 year old, with black messy hair, and a pale appearance stopped the whole little riot. Starring firmly at all of them; he asked them all to leave, and that he would soon let Watari know of they're evil deeds constantly towards Terr. All of them left. Afraid of what was to come next for they're disobedience. The 15 year old lendid a helping hand over to Terr; who took it, getting up from the floor.
"Thank you L." Was all Terr said as he left. Taking his belongings with him. L looking at the constant bruised Terr had no means of pitying the kid, only being frank and honest as possible with him.
"By the looks of what just happened now. It looks like you don't care or value for your own life. Do you want to die?" L asked, no concern shown through his voice.
Terr stopped in his tracks. Thinking about the question hard. "You could say that. Maybe if I die, I can talk to the others; on the other side, and I won't be called or considered a freak by them. So yeah, I would not really mind it. But I'll say no, so you won't go off telling Watari I need to be put on crisis or something along those lines." Terr finishing his response, took his leave.
Looking towards his left as he headed out stood Watari, giving Terr a warm smile, taking the tired boy by the shoulder. Terr did not resist, he only played along.
Images then followed...
Of a familiar nun. Laying dead in a pool of blood, near some alley. Food from a paper bag scattered on the cobblestone ground. A child on his knees crying for the victim who could not respond. Who could not have an eye for an eye...
In a cold sweat awoke T startled, but quick to catch his breath. He looked at Takada who was trying to make an escape. As soon as she noticed she ran for the door, only to have him follow behind; grabbing a hold of Kiyomi Takada.
"Let me go!" Yelled out a desperate Takada. Slumping down from his grip, onto the floor; crying her eyes out in desperation to be free from this whole burden. Handcuffing the woman, T began to stroke Takada's hair, trying to calm the girl down; he closed his eyes, trying to block out the crying. All that was left out to be heard was her crying, and the Shinigami who was with them laughing...
"Everything will be alright." Confirmed T.
Since last night Mello had left the red head once again, including to also watch the cop; Matsuda tied up. in the care of Sidoh; who was not to pleased with the task.
Mello was to try and attempt a second visit with his daughter; who was so nervous she could not come out last time. No matter how much they pleaded her too. Mello could not blame her. In her shoes he too would be nervous to see a father who was never around. The thought indeed was intimidating, but Sayu let him know that this time she was out waiting for him in the porch. She was ready, and of course Mello would receive her. He wanted her comfortable with him after all. He knew not to rush things with her. Mello had burrowed Matt's car, as much as he did not want to, but it was necessary. Considering how Matt did not let him rent a car for himself.
"God... He does not owe me nothing. I swear... That Matt." Mello thought out loud.
Elsewhere was a very spaced out Matt playing his PSP consistently, as he sneezed; continuing on, with a curious Sidoh behind him looking all to amazed by Matt's gaming skills. Skills only giving while sitting. A perfect device in the lazy shinigami's eyes.
Mello arrived, greeting his daughter; as he opened the door for her to get in the car. She smiled nervously as she fumbled with the seat belt. Mello waited for her to get herself into safety. All the while smiling at her for her gifted cuteness. He dared not admit such things to others, but with Maria he would not mind it. Mello drove off; waiving to a smiling Sayu. He took her to her favorite restaurant; full of nothing but pastries. A shop Mello knew the decease L would of liked. Opening the door for Maria, he suddenly felt a grab being made towards his hand. He looked curious, to only find a smile being directed at him by Maria. Who he smiled back at feeling himself become soft for the girl in his grip. They both headed in. Making arrangements for a private table; Mello, and Maria where leaded, and sat by the host. Taking the Menu's handed to them. They looked through it. Maria choosing a cake called "Chocolate Wonderland" made Mello look her way, and back at the Menu. He felt his mouth water, as he whipped off the feeling. Declaring he wanted the same, the host replying by taking the menus back to take they're orders. Maria giggled at her father's face. He looked like he was getting ready to pounce his pray. Her hands supporting her chin to further look at her father with delight. She was finally face to face with him, and she felt happy. Mello noticing her gaze on him, looked at her as well.
"So, is your father a disappointment? You can be honest with me Maria. I don't care what others think. I want to know from you." Mello asked.
Maria looked at her father confused, only to answer back. "What are you saying dad? I'm happy to see you, to be with you. I'm not angry..."
Out of all those times Mello ever confess to a Priest, nothing felt more relieving then his own daughters confirmation. That alone set his soul in peace. As he leaned forward to kiss his lovely daughters forehead. Causing Maria to blush a bit by her first father's affection. As she startled him with a hug over the table. Making him laugh a bit. He truly felt happy.
"Is this what it was like to have a family to love?" If so, he finally had it in his grasp. Something he thought he would never have. God has finally giving to all those prayers Mello sent out.
