Chapter 26: Opened
Lucy's body shook with dark laughter as she lifted her foot just as Cindy was approaching. This red headed girl believes she can destroy her. Destroy Acnologia.
What a joke.
Cindy yelled racing towards her with rage filling her honey brown eyes. Her body covered in ice scales as she sent ice spikes flying towards Lucy. The dragon girl dodged the ice spikes expertly using her wings to lift herself in the air and twirling. The ice zoomed past her not even getting close to her. She then landed back on her feet with animalistic grace.
The red head then yelled as she sent a fist towards Lucy. Cindy wants to punch that arrogant look out of Lucy's face. She wanted to beat the dragon so much that he will regret messing with her family. Cindy wanted this all to end. Cindy covered her fist with water boasting her speed. But Lucy simply lifted her clawed hand up catching Cindy's fist stopping her attack.
"You will make me pay? Me?" Lucy let out a dark laugh. She tightened her hand on Cindy's fist digging her claws in her scales making Cindy cry out. Blood flowed out from where the claws were dug in. A sickening crack can be heard signifying Lucy broke some fingers. Lucy leaned her face dangerously close to Cindy showing her the true evil that is swirling in her white eyes. "I would love to see you try."
Cindy let out a howl of pain as the blonde woman twisted her wrist, breaking it like a twig. Then she pulled the red head towards her. Lifting her leg and letting go of Cindy's hand, Lucy slammed her foot into Cindy's stomach sending her flying away. Cindy let out a gasp upon impact as she was sent flying back. Her body rolled on the ground then slammed against an invisible wall.
Lucy laughed again.
"Come entertain me, girl. I wish to see what this body can do." Lucy challenged.
She watched with her blank white eyes as Cindy got back up. Lucy extended her dark wings out, beating them against the air to lift her off the ground. She hovered in the air with a wicked grin. She extended a clawed hand towards Cindy motioning for her to come to her.
Cindy had tears welling up in her honey brown orbs. She lifted her right hand to see her wrist dislocated in painful position. Her wrist burned and throbbed violently. Without thinking too much about it, Cindy slammed her dislocated wrist against the wall putting it back in place with a yell. Tears flowed down her eyes as she wrapped an extra layer of ice around her wrist and hand. She froze the claw marks Lucy left on her hand, stopping the bleeding.
Cindy tsked.
She won't lose to that bastard. She let her hand come down to her throbbing abdomen where the dragon pierced her earlier. She won't lose. Cindy's rough tan fingers touched the blood ice with a sigh. She will never lose.
Lucy's dark laughter kept echoing in the dark abyss. The dragon was taunting her.
That damn dragon is using her sister's body to torture her.
Cindy looked down. Her red hair came forward covering her face. Sweat dripped down her face as she breathed heavily. The images of the Acnologia going inside his sister's screaming body tortured her. The cries of agony Lucy let out as her limbs were moving in and out of place. Cindy's body shook furiously as her magical energy increased. The tortuous look Lucy gave her because the dragon took over, haunted her memories. Dear spirits, Cindy could not have imagined the excruciating pain Lucy must have felt. The pain that caused the stubborn blonde for an ending of her life. She begged her own little sister to end her life.
Something then snapped in the red head.
Cindy let out a loud yell as she looked up at the sky. Water flew up like a geyser straight up in the air. An explosion of powerful magic came from her. Ice horns came out of her head. The human body under her ice scales turned to water. The girl was light blue. She looks like a living crystal.
Lucy stopped laughing to stare at the raging red head as the water fell slowly down. The water cascaded down like rain drops around them. Lucy tilted her head to the side feeling the magic power resonating from the younger girl in front of her. The girl was breathing heavily. An almost dark cold aura surrounded the girl.
"Interesting." Lucy smirked. "Alright, girl. Give it your all. I will take pleasure in killing you." The blonde bent slightly forward in a fighting stance. Her long tail swaying from side to side in excitement.
Extending her arms out, Cindy formed her preferred fighting weapon with her ice. Sharp twin swords appeared on either hand. She strengthened her scales with another layer of ice. Cindy breathed heavily as she made large and sharp ice shards appear from her elbows and the back of her foot. She walked towards Lucy with a dark look. Her footsteps leaving water marks on the ground. Her swords dragging on the ground creating a trail of water that extended out. The water from the swords flowed out getting bigger and stronger creating two powerful rivers behind her.
Lucy smiled a wicked grin as she extended her right hand out. Blue flames moved around the arm then came out of into a long whip. A loud clash echoed from the whip cracking in the air. Cindy picked up her pace at the same time as Lucy launched towards her.
Cindy yelled as she jumped in the air. She twisted her body completely to the side. In a single move she combined her two swords together. The two rivers combined together with a loud crash. It created a large powerful current of water in the air connected to the swords. Lucy increased the flames of the fire whip sending it towards Cindy with a yell. With a last booming shout, Cindy swung her swords and the current of water towards Lucy just as she swung the whip towards Cindy.
"Water and ice dragon's secret art: the double element sword." Cindy yelled.
Just then a magic circled appear turning the current of water into ice. It was now a large 20 foot jagged sword. Water was flowing to life inside the sword as the ice surrounded it. The water from the sword extinguished Lucy's flaming whip. The ice sword slammed into Lucy cutting one of her wings and sent her flying to side. Lucy was screeching in agony as she flew through the air. The sliced wing fell to the ground jumping around on the ground like a fish out of water.
Cindy wasn't done.
She was far from done.
Before Lucy could land on the ground, Cindy appeared under like a terrifying shadow. The red head slammed her ice shard covered elbow into Lucy's back. Lucy let out a roar in agony as she coughed out blood. The ice shard that was on Cindy's elbow went through her lower abdomen. With Lucy in that position, Cindy turned the ice to water then lifted her leg doing a back flip. Her leg slammed into Lucy's side kicking sending the blonde flying again. The water and ice dragonslayer then used her water element to form a whip. She cracked it towards the screaming Lucy in the air. The water whipped wrapped around the blonde's stomach. Cindy grunted as she dug her feet to the ground. Pulling her body back she put all her strength into spinning Lucy in the air.
"Are you entertained now? You little shit!" Cindy roared. The red head then destroyed her water whip in mid circle sending Lucy soaring and slamming into the invisible wall. The ice girl breathed heavily in her spot. Her body slouched as she stared at Lucy's bleeding figure on the ground not far off groaning in pain. Only one wing extended out to the side as the other one was cut in half and bleeding heavily. "There is something you should know about the elements of water and Ice, Acnologia." Cindy let out darkly. Lucy let out a painful growl as she lifted her head up to send a murderous glare at the pissed red head. Cindy lifted her hand up making Lucy's own blood that pooled around lift in the air. Cindy then froze the blood to turn into sharp spikes. "Water and ice are a force to be reckoned with. My dragon used to always tell me since I was small that the water element can make me unable to control my emotions. That I will be unpredictable. While the ice will slowly freeze my heart over time if I am not careful. The ice element is able to make me turn me into a cold blooded killer with no remorse. You see if I give into my element. In other words, if I snap. I become a completely different person." The blood spikes then slammed down into Lucy making her shriek in pain. "My dragon always told me to control my emotions. Control my temper because when I snap. When you make a water and ice dragonslayer snap. Well.." More blood spikes lifted up in the air then slammed into Lucy. Lucy growled and thrashed around like an animal as she grew insane with anger. "You see."
Lucy's white eyes narrowed at Cindy. The Dragon promised death to the red head. She promised torturous pain to her. Cindy's eyes were completely frozen in ice as her breath came out in cold steam. Lucy smiled despite her state. A dark chuckle came from her. Looking down she let her bangs cover her eyes.
"I continue to underestimate this family." Lucy whispered darkly. "I will thoroughly enjoy breaking them."
Cindy stopped in front of Lucy. Her face expressionless. Her ice eyes stared at Lucy with no emotions. She didn't even show any shock when Lucy lit her body on fire. Lucy screamed out in agony as she burned her wounds shut. Cindy expected this. She knew Acnologia would not be defeated that easily. Cindy just needs to wear out the Dragon enough so she can recite the spell and bond them.
When the two are bonded it would be too much for Acnologia to be in two bodies. The bond will destroy Acnologia's spirit only leaving his magic behind to the sisters. Cindy has to completely wear out Acnologia so she can get close enough.
Lucy stumbled up to her feet still laughing to herself. The blue flames burst up in the air as her laughter now turned insane. Her white eyes wide as she looked at Cindy with a wide smile. Without warning the blonde dug her feet in the ground and sped towards Cindy.
Cindy dodged the attack effortless. But Lucy continued to attack. They danced in the dark abyss both evenly matched. Both filled with so much hatred and anger towards the other.
"You are willing to hurt your own sister?" Lucy let out in a fake hurt voice. She sent a fire ball towards to Cindy only making the ice girl jump to the side.
"We are in Lucy's conscience. I am not really hurting her real body." Cindy let out in a monotone. She sent ice shards flying towards Lucy. "Besides Lucy wouldn't mind if I beat the shit out of you."
The dragon girl lifted a wall of fire in front of her melting the ice before it hit her. The blonde then ran through the flames towards Cindy. Lucy roared as she breathed out her blue flames towards Cindy. In quick reaction, Cindy moved her hands in front of her sending a wave of water to slam into the flames. A large explosion rumbling through the abyss as sizzling sounds deafened their ears. Steam rose from the collision covering the air in a think burning fog.
Cindy smiled. Now she has an advantage. Melting her body down to become water particles. Cindy became one with the steam. She blended into the heavy cloud racing towards a raging Lucy.
"Where are you!" Lucy roared in anger as she attempted to see through the thick air. Her body was lit in her blue flames as she grew angry.
"Here." Cindy let out.
She slammed into Lucy then disappeared back into the mist. Lucy stumbled back holding her stomach. A menacing growl escaped her lips. Cindy again slammed into the blonde, but this time from behind making the blonde stumble forward. This kept happening again and again. Cindy kept slamming into Lucy making the blonde stumble everywhere. Cindy didn't give her a chance to gather her energy or even attack. Cindy just kept attacking her through the mist. She kept sending powerful punches to the raging blonde.
"You are a coward girl." Lucy growled. She was on all fours now. Her body covered in large painful bruises. Cindy stopped attacking for she was now tired. The red head was still blended into the mist now breathing hard. Her body ached terribly begging her to stop. Lucy snapped her head up towards Cindy's direction with a monstrous smile. "Found you."
Cindy didn't even have time to escape as Lucy jumped towards her. The blonde's clawed hand came out to grab her. Blue flames surrounded the red head making her scream in agony as her body burst into flames forcing her to go back to her human form. The clawed hand was now wrapped around the red heads neck choking her. The flames were getting hotter and hotter by the second making the red head scream at the top of her lungs.
Cindy could feel the flames melting her ice and even the water making her unable to summon her element. The flames felt like it was burning her from the inside out. Lucy smiled evilly as she held the screaming red head up in the air by her throat. Dark laughter escaped the blonde as she looked at the red head in excitement. Lucy loved hearing her scream. She loved the cries the red head let out. Now the Dragon wanted the red head to beg for her life.
With her other hand, Lucy slammed her hand into Cindy's stomach. The red head shrieked louder. Her screams were deafening.
"You believed you could have won? You believed you were stronger? Did you not realize I went easy on you girl?" Lucy breathed out. She moved her hand that was inside to grab one of Cindy's bones. The blonde is going to char her insides and enjoy every minute of it. "I was only waiting for you to wear yourself out. I let my anger fuel me as I waited for the perfect opening. I even let myself believe you were going to beat me. It worked quite well did it not?" Lucy laughed then lit the hand holding the bone on fire.
"AHHHHH!" Cindy shrieked into the air.
Then finally the flames extinguished. Steam rose from the limp red head. She was still held in the air from her throat. The red head skin was no longer a glowing tan, but now a charred wrinkled black. The short fiery red hair was burned off her body. Her eyes half closed unable to open anymore. Cindy couldn't feel anything in her body. She couldn't feel her heart beat. She couldn't feel herself breath. She actually believed she died.
"What a disgusting weak creature." Lucy sneered looking over Cindy's burned state.
A mosquito like noise went through Cindy's ears as she couldn't hear the Dragon's words. It was a deafly echo of a high pitched beep. She wanted to cry, but she was completely burned of water. She was too exhausted from screaming that she didn't even feel magic in her.
This is it.
This is the end.
The end of the sisters.
Ironic isn't. The sister with the heart of gold turns into the most fearsome and evil creature to ever roam the earth. While the other sister will be killed by the hand of the person she cherished the most in the world.
It's ironic how the sister that put all her strength to protect her loved ones and her son will now be their death.
'Come on, Glacier. You can't really be giving up. I thought you were stronger than that.' Metallica's voice ranged in Cindy's head. She could see that large iron dragon looking at her with disappointment before he broke out into a large smirk. 'I guess you really are a blowfish then. Just a weak fish that puffs just for show.'
'Leave her alone.' Grandeeney hissed appearing next to Metallica. The large sky dragon looked at Cindy with a soft smile. 'Don't give up, child. We believe in you.'
'We won't let you die again.' Igneel let out appearing next to the dragons. His dark eyes burning with a fire of determination. 'Get up!'
'Come on, Cindy!' One by one her loved ones appeared next to each other. They encouraged the red head to get up. To not give up. To save her sister. Sting, Rogue, Natsu, Wendy, Happy, Lily, Charla, Erza, Layla, even Jasmine.
'I didn't raise you to be this pathetic. You promised me you will live your life to the fullest. You promised you will not let your second chance go to waste. You promised me that you will see me again when you die of old age. I told you I do not want see you a day sooner, you ugly brat.' Jasmine growled glaring at the red head furiously. 'Pull yourself together!'
'Auntie?' Taiyo breathed out appearing next to Jasmine. His small hand was up resting against Jasmine's leg. 'If you die. Won't the monster come after us?' Tears came down the small boy's hazel eyes. Cindy's hand twitched at her sides. 'Who is going to protect us, Auntie? Mommy is gone. You can't leave too, Auntie! Who will protect us?'
Taiyo's voice echoed over and over again as everyone faded out. Then in the middle of the darkness a blonde appeared. The blonde was dressed in a short blue skirt and a tight white tank top. Her blonde hair was up in a side pony tail held up by a blue ribbon. A bright smile filled the blonde's features as she stared at the red head with happiness.
'Even if we are far don't forget that I will always love you. You're my little sister.' Lucy's voice rang through Cindy's head. It echoed in a joyous and loving tone. Cindy remembers when she heard that. It was the day when Lucy left to go back to Fairy Tail after giving birth to Taiyo. Cindy's feet twitched in the air. Water flowed through her insides slowly healing the burns. 'While I'm gone protect them with your life. Keep my son safe. Keep the dragon's safe. Keep yourself safe. I will be back as soon as I can.' The blonde turned around lifted her hand in the air. Her thumb and index finger out pointing towards the sky as she walked away.
Cindy immediately knew what that meant.
"Protect." Cindy wheezed out in a short breath as she lifted her hand up. She will protect them. Tears came down the girl's eyes as she ignored the excruciating pain. "Promised." She promised them that she will not give up. The water from her tears flowed down to her hands. Her body glowed into a golden light as the young dragonslayer started reciting a spell under her breath.
"What the hell?" The Dragon let out in shock as she stared up at the water and ice dragonslayer. She was slowly coming back to life. Lucy still had her held up in the air by her throat. She spent the whole time laughing about how pathetic humans were. A charred hand came towards her forehead. "I burned your body from the inside out. You should be dead."
Then Lucy's white eyes widen in shock as the Dragon remembered what the real Lucy said to him. 'We are a force to be reckoned with.' At that moment the Dragon gasped out in shock. He tried to move his hand away from the girl's throat. He tried to force his new body to move away. To escape. But he couldn't. Lucy couldn't move. The Dragon realized too late that at that moment the real Lucy fought against his spirit for control of her body. The Spirit mage kept her body in place not letting the Dragon move it away as Cindy slammed her hand on Lucy's forehead.
"Noooo!" The Dragon roared up to the sky as Lucy's and Cindy's body glowed brightly.
Then exploded out. Leaving the dark abyss empty and free.
****************************************************Protecting Dragons***********************************************************
Back in the Dragon Realm, the family and friends of the sister's watched with concern as Taiyo continued to recite the spell over and over again. It's been hours since the boy and the Dragon's started the bond. It was taking a toll on them. The dragon's magic was growing weaker as they blew it softly over the family for the spell. The boy sat in the middle of the sister's his hands in theirs. He was glowing golden along with the girls as he kept repeating the same spell over and over again. Sweat was dripping down the boy's forehead as his eyebrows were furrowed together.
Natsu watched the scene in front of him with slight panic. It's been hours. He doesn't believe the Dragon's and the boy can go on anymore. They were already going past their magical limits. Natsu's Onyx eyes then looked down at Lucy. Her dragon like form laid peacefully on the ground. Tears welled in Natsu's eyes. He fisted his hands at his side. He felt useless. Utterly and completely useless. He can't do anything. His body shook in anger as he kept thinking about the situation. He knows the sisters are currently fighting that damn Dragon in Lucy's head. He knows that they are without help. He knows he can't do anything.
"Natsu?" Erza breathed out placing her hand softly on the shaking man's shoulder.
Natsu jumped upon the contact then turned to stare at Erza with worn out eyes. Erza smiled softly at the pink haired man. She nodded at him as if to tell him she understands. She understands how he must feel. She knows that he feels useless. They all felt useless.
Natsu opened his mouth to say something, but he was interrupted by Taiyo screaming. His eyes widen in horror as he turned around to see Taiyo, Lucy, and Cindy all start screaming as their bodies lit up in blue flames. The Dragon's immediately stopped their magic in panic as they yelled at each other not knowing what to do.
"What's going on?" Sting and Rogue yelled in horror their eyes never leaving the scene in front of them.
The bond. It's working. Igneel thought as he stared down at the girls. The flames getting stronger as magic exploded from them. Igneel looked at Grandeeney and Metallica to see them smiling widely as they stared down at Taiyo and the girls with a proud look.
They did it.
In quick haste knowing that the bond is already on, Igneel wrapped his tail around Taiyo's torso pulling him out of the flames and away from the danger. The small boy immediately passed out in exhaustion as Igneel laid him softly on the grass next to him. Erza ran to the boy on the ground holding him to her chest lovingly. The Scarlet mage whispered to the boy how proud she was of him as she held him to her. She then looked up at Igneel with a serious expression. Igneel smiled down at her as he nodded telling her that it worked. The sisters are coming back. Erza thanked the spirits as she held the boy closer to her chest.
The red dragon then looked back at the girls with fascination. Bonding two people together has never been done. Many tried but they all failed. No one even knew that the spell worked, but Igneel and the Dragons knew. They knew the spell was true, but dangerous. They have now committed a grave crime, but they did not care. They saved the sister's. And that is all that matter's to them.
Igneel watched as Lucy and Cindy continued to scream out into the air. The presence of Acnologia no longer there. The great evil that was around them destroyed. They destroyed his spirit. Lucy was slowly turning back to her regular human form. The wings going back into her as well as the horns. The scales that surrounded her body now faded away. Her claws turned back to regular perfectly shaped human hands. She was a beautiful human mage again.
The fire dragon then focused his eyes on the red head, taking in her changes as her body aged in order to equal Lucy's age. Blonde hair came out of the roots of her head pushing down the red hair. The hair grew down to Cindy's waist. It was blonde at the top then red at the bottom. Igneel chuckled. Cindy is going to throw a fit when she finds out. See the truth that Cindy always kept hidden from the world was that she was a natural blonde like Lucy. But Cindy hated the fact that people kept mistaking her for Lucy so she dyed her hair red and cut it.
"That blowfish is going to blow a fuse when she wakes up." Metallica laughed taking in the sight.
Igneel laughed agreeing with the iron dragon. Cindy's childish features slowly changed matching Lucy's adult features. Yup, the water and ice dragonslayer is going to blow a fuse for the sister's looked like twins.
The blue flames extending out of their bodies died out as their screams subsided.
Natsu, Sting, and Rogue immediately ran to the sister's in panic. They held the girls to their chest as they cried their names. Natsu pushed Lucy's blonde hair out of her face as he prayed that the bond worked. Tears continued to stream down his eyes as he held her. Natsu sobbed as he promised Lucy that he will never leave her again. He promised her that once she wakes up that he will tell her how he feels.
Rogue and Sting held Cindy in their arms. They didn't even care that the other was there. All they cared about was the unconscious blonde girl in their arms. They begged her to come back. They told the red and blonde haired girl that they won't fight anymore. They promised to make her happy. They promised to take care of her and keep her laughing till the end of time.
The Dragons, Exceeds, Erza, Gajeel, and Wendy all watched with soft smiles tears coming down their eyes. Although Gajeel and Lily will tell you that it was allergies.
Soon enough as the sister's opened their eyes coming back to their loved ones.
