Chapter 20: Darkness.

Abel and Larry followed Maria. All the while talking of a Rated R movie they saw while sneaking into a theater, later to be caught by they're parents, who quickly scolded them. Maria's mind elsewhere; thinking of her next meeting with her father. Something she was looking forward to. She had talked to her 2 best friends about it, but they felt iffy about it. They felt strange meeting another parent in Maria's life, but they followed regardless. To support her, and also out of curiosity. They followed Maria into a park near by they're school. There sat Mello at a bench, strangely no birds around him. The poor boys already felt the intimidation in them rise. Mello lowered his shades with a single finger. Giving both boys blue piercing eyes; typical of a father. Maria approached Mello with a hug. Hanging on her father by clutching onto his leather jacket. All this time snuggling on his face; not at all aware by the boys stepping back a few inches by the menacing eyes upon them.

"Hey guys! This is my father; Mello. Dad, these are my 2 best friends; Abel and Larry!" Maria said quite pleased with her choices in life.

"I expected little girls your age... Yet it's 2 boys instead I see. Your quite a charmer like your father huh?" Mello said sweetly to his daughter.

Maria agreed. Not at all aware of Mello's fatherly intentions. As she began to hug her father again. Abel and Larry approached in response to Mello's hand gesture to come closer. As they did; they both had they're hands quite tightly shacking; in a supposed "Pleased to meet you" greeting. Both Abel and Larry startled by this reaction soon said they would promise to be on they're best behavior. Having Mello smile in triumph by the boys supposed (respect). When it was really fear...

Terr went to check on his hostage.
Stepping on a few used tissues spread through various spots on the floor; he approached Takada who was laying on her side; on the bed she lay in for several days. Feeling no need to move from it. Her motivations drained. She had no more will to keep writing.

"Miss Takada, how are you feeling today?" Asked Terr.

Takada gazed up at Terr, looking down again. "Dreadful. You?" Takada replied emotionless.

Terr took a seat in front of Kiyomi. "I'm fine, just worried about you." Terr replied. Looking. Observing her state. Terr began to touch a bit of Takada's forehead. Expecting to feel something different. Yet nothing out of the ordinary. But her expression changed a great deal at that very moment he touched her face. She was smiling at him. It caught him off guard, and he moved his hand away quickly; as thought he was a child who just broke something, and felt panic.

"Thank you for fixing my appearance by the way... Those burns where serious. Yet you have the gift of fixing things with those hands of your's." Takada whispered; thankfully sounding.

"No. These hands don't fix. They just hide the mistakes caused. In your heart there is a bigger scar. One that will never be erased. If I had the hands to fix. I would fix the whole world, but I can't. Not unless people stand, and fight together. Which is likely to happen. Light tried to do so, but he ended up getting corrupted. Ambitions like his can never fix anything.

Takada stayed silent for a bit. Looking at the sealing. Avoiding Terr's face. Looking back at him with hate in her eyes.

"Don't mention that name again." Takada whispered.

Terr said nothing else. He did not further want to abuse that huge scar she held, and covered her up with the blankets beside her. Patting her shoulder before he left the room.

Sayu had bought a drink from a local convenient store. Cheerfully taking a sip, she told the store owner goodbye. Heading out. The store owner replying back, as he continued to look very interested in the book he held. Sayu crossing the street. She was to meet Mello, and the kids in the park. Bringing a bag of lunch for them all. Passing by others; she had a feeling of being watched again. The starring grew warmer, and the pen was gripped harder. Sayu felt pain in her head all of a sudden. Collapsing from the over the top pain, she no longer felt herself. As everything began to get dark.
