Chapter 25: Silent Shadows Pt. 2.

Each pointed finger was being heard; tapped on the car dashboard. The thoughts of being cornered crawled once again into Rat's head. Everywhere there was an enemy. Everywhere there was a traitorous snake near by. Even he was a rat among many. He did not even trust himself at times; and frankly he started to think whether he'd be better off just dead and forgotten. But he's come this far... And he was not about to let anyone stop him from his revenge. Meaningless it may be to some, but not to him. Everyone has something to strive for in this rotten world. Including himself.

"I've never seen that woman in short hair... I believe..." Whispered Rat.

"Probably a new addition to the whole Anti-Kira investigation team. Nothing new Rat. There will always be those who appose this type of threat; the threat of the death note..." Responded Terr nonchalantly.

Rat further glared at the new addition in the passenger seat. He would not allow no one away from his watchful eyes.

"Let's go Terr... We'll tail them later. Right now let's take care of Takada." Rat changed thought rather quickly.

Terr glanced at Rat, then only to follow orders. Taking another direction opposite to the ones he was pursuing.

Gevanni stopped in a near by coffee shop. Taking a seat with Sayu; who seemed a bit uneasy. Looking at her he took a sip of his coffee before breaking the silence held so tightly between them.

"Are you sure you want to go through with investigating this case? This case with several death notes?" Asked Gevanni with concern in his eyes.

Sayu just looked at him puzzled. As thought he spoke another language to her or something. Before he spoke again.

"Suzumi Takahashi?" Asked Gevanni; this time with Sayu's alias name.

"Of course I want to go through with this... I want to live a life of peace with my daughter. How else can I when things from the past keep catching up with me?" Responded Sayu, finally back towards Gevanni.

"I was making sure is all Suzumi." Gevanni said with a slight smile. Accepting the young woman's choice finally.

Sayu stared at Gevanni sternly; taking a sip of her coffee as well. Making all effort to pull herself together.

"You do not have a choice in this matter!" Screamed Rat violently at Takada; who was now crying. Her body against the floral wall. Panting a bit due to her trying to run away from Rat's rage.

"Your dead to people right now! In this current status! And if I wanted to... I could get rid of you now! So get out of this stupid depression your in; and keep written criminals names down!" Yelled Rat further. Menacingly holding a death note of his own.

"I wont! I won't keep being used like a rag doll!" Yelled Takada right back. Fear in her eyes all to clear.

Rat angered by Takada's stubborn outburst; opened his own death notebook. Starting to write with his pen at hand. Terr quickly got a hold of Rat's hand in a matter of seconds. Not letting him write further.

"What's this Terr?! Betrayal?!" Asked Rat in panic.

"No. You yourself told be you wanted to kill criminals only. Current criminals. Not someone who is dead to the world. I have belief in Near's knowledge of Takada being alive! If you kill her; you will lead him to me, and surely lead him further to you. Is that what you want?! Don't blow your cover Rat..." Terr reminded, letting go of Rat's hand; as soon as Rat trooped the pen.

"Your right Terr... I must just be to tired. That is what has got me in panic lately. I'm sorry for that." Rat finally admitted to Terr.

Terr glanced at Rat. Willing to believe the excuse he had. Turning his attention to Takada.

"Go to your room Kiyomi. I'll take care of it. You keep written names down. As your told please. Hurry." Terr advised a crying Takada. Terr looking at Rat who was heading out the door; did not bother to follow behind. Instead he picked up the broken base on the floor that was tossed in the argument. Slowly picking up the blue roses on the floor as well. Noticing he had cut himself with one of the roses torn's; he went to clean the blood dripping by the sudden action.

"Rat can't handle this anymore... He really can't. He's starting to crack. I don't need him doing that. I need him stable at all cost. It's the only way I can get to Seur... If Rat remains calm." Terr thought to himself.

Elsewhere...

Sayu and Gevanni made it to the task force. Sayu needed answers. And she would not take no for an answer. They both stood there. Waiting for someone to receive them. Nothing. No one came. Sayu was fed up with it. Walking past security; she would get her way. One way; or another.

"Mrs. Yagami?!" Said one of the security guards; who then decided to call back up. Gevanni followed Sayu. Not caring at all by the back up showing up soon.

Sayu made her way storming the Task Force by slamming the door wide open. Hitting a very shocked Yamamoto in the face with the door. Sayu looked around. All of them we're present. Accept for Matsuda.

"Where's Matsuda?" Sayu asked nonchalantly.

"He's been gone. Haven't heard of him since." Responded Aisawa, who was still at his chair, both Ide, and Mogi looking quite dumbfounded beside him.

"Okay... Let's try this again... Where did he go off to? Until you lost contact with him?" Asked Sayu again.

Aizawa starred at the monitors in front of him as to why all this was happening, but turn to face Sayu regardless.

"He left to England... In search of you. He cares about you; and believes your not ready to live secluded from your family and friends yet. So tell me Sayu... Are you in the right state? Or will we have to take you in for your own good?" Aisawa asked; rather concerned with Sayu as well.

"I'm perfectly fine Aisawa. Now answer me this! Who are you to be deciding my fate? You, Matsuda, and the rest of you?! I'm an adult now. Stop interfering in my life!" Confirmed Sayu back.

Aisawa stared at Sayu for a bit. Trying hard to understand her. He too had a daughter to worry about. When Soichiro died. He felt like he should always watch after her too. As much as he tried to understand thought, he could not. A father's love for a child was to blinding. Wishing Soichiro was not gone, he gently reached for Sayu's shoulder. About to speak, but interrupted suddenly...

The building all of a sudden began to shake, as thought something of the same size collided with it. Everything flying about made everyone fall down to the floor. Sayu startled by the impact saw it was a bus that had crashed in to the building. Aisawa who had shielded Sayu with his arms and body; looked up. Hoping the person in the bus really was Soichiro or something. As impossible as that sounded. But sadly it was not. The guy coming out had a helmet on that revealed no face. A blade in hand; the person quickly got a hold of Sayu by the hair. Struggleling to free herself from the grip that held onto her hair, she could feel the dread of a familiar feeling again. Aisawa tried to pull Sayu off, but the guy holding her only kicked Aisawa off brutally.

"Well, well... Looks like I was right about you bitch!" The man in the helmet spoke. His voice now coming back to Sayu.

Gevanni looked at the two. Trying to get up from the ruble on top of him. Aiming his gun straight ahead for a shot at the guy...
