Darry's pov
Recap: Previously
I heard footsteps and my eyes were drawn towards Jenny. Her long silky hair was down neatly curled into ringlets. Her brown eyes sparked beautifully. She wore a skinny tight modest cut navy polka dot dress with navy heels and a light white sweater that matched her dress. Her dress had a belt that showed her thin dress was modest and showed off her legs just a bit.
She looked beautiful and had my attention the whole time. Her hips swayed as she came down the stairs with confidence. I felt like i couldn't form a sentence at the moment. She came towards me and placed a kiss on my cheek.
"These are for you", I say
"Thank you, they are beautiful. I will put them in some water real quick.", Jenny says
Present-
Jenny returned from the kitchen and I took her hand. We walked to my truck parked outside. She was beautiful and smelled like strawberries. Her scent was heavenly and I look pleasure in taking her scent in.
I opened the truck door for her and helped her in. I walked to my side of the truck and slide in. I started the car and our journey began.
"I hope Peter and John didn't scare you.", Jenny says
"It surprised me that two of your roommates were male but nah, they were behaved.", I reply
"Don't worry, Peter is my brother. John is my brother's best friend, but i consider him my brother. ", Jenny says
"Thank goodness", I mumble softy
Jenny sat closely to me, she rested her head on my shoulder as I drove. It took a lot to not kiss her right there. I smelled her silky brown hair which smelled like strawberries. She turned on the radio and we sang to the radio. It was enjoyable, i didn't want it to end.
"So where are we going?", Jenny asks
"To this little restaurant in Oklahoma City.", I reply
"Sounds romantic , a night on the town and a drive in the truck to get there. ", Jenny says
"You look beautiful", I say
"Thank you. You look very handsome.", Jenny says
I pulled into the parking lot of restaurant and helped Jenny out of the car. I closed the car door and took her hand. Together we walked into the swanky little restaurant with red bricks. The building had dance music playing and couples were dancing. The music wasn't too loud, it was playing softly.
I walked to the little table where the greeter stood. "Reservation for Curtis.", I saw
"Right this way , sir.", the women replies
We followed the women to our table. The table had seating for two, a rose was in the middle of the table, with a white table cloth and china plates. I pulled Jenny's seat out for her and she took a seat. I took my seat across from her.
"Your waiter will be here shortly.", the women says
"This is really nice.", Jenny says
"I'm glad you like it.", I say
We looked over the menu and the waiter came. He was dressed in black slacks, a white shirt and a black vest. His hair was kept neatly.
"I'm Andrew, I will be your waiter tonight.", the young man says
"What can I get for you to drink?", Andrew asks
"I'll have a glass of iced tea.", I say
"I'll have a glass of water.", Jenny says
"I be right back with your drinks.", Andrew says
"What are you getting?", Jenny asks
"A steak , baked potato, a roll and green beans.", I reply
"How about you ?", I ask
"I belive i will have the same.",Jenny says
Andrew returns with our drinks. He places them down for us.
"What can I get you for your meals?",Andrew asks
"A steak, medium rare. A baked potato with just cheese on it. A roll and green beans.", I reply
"A steak, medium well. A baked potato plain just sour cream. A roll and green beans.", Jenny says
"Alright, It will be out shortly.", Andrew says
"Thank you.", I say
"So how did you know you wanted to be a doctor?", I ask
"I love to help people. I just knew it was what i wanted to do with my can be difficult to be a woman doctor, but other women have done it before me. Jamie is one of those brave women who I meet who also wanted to be a doctor. ", Jenny says
"You are amazing.", I say
"Why. Thank you.", Jenny says blushing
"How did you decide that you wanted to raise your brothers, if you don't mind me asking.", Jenny asks
"I don't mind at all. I just knew there was something inside of me that told me what i needed to do. It felt right and natural to care for them. It wasn't easy at first but I couldn't dream of my live being any different.", I reply
"That was awful brave of you. You didn't get to go to collage,did you.", Jenny says
" I don't know about brave. Collage wasn't an option when I began raising the boys.", I reply
"That was brave, Darry. It really was, you were just a kid yourself.", Jenny says kissing my cheek
"It was a little overwhelming at first.", I admitted
"What are you plans? I know, Pony will be a senior next year.", Jenny says
"I not really sure what my plans are yet. I do plan to help pay for Pone's schooling, I want the kid to go to collage. I am considering attending community collage or maybe I work with a business partner. I've been offered a job.", I reply
"What kind of job?", Jenny asks
"A west side well to do friend of mine, Adam Carter. Adam is starting a roofing company. He needs a foreman, he made an offer that I become his foreman and partner. He could use my knowledge and skills. It would be called Carter and Curtis Roofing. It would be an equal partnership, but please don't say anything to my boys. I haven't told them yet.", I says
"That sounds wonderful.", Jenny says
"I know, but it isn't an easy decision. It pays very well, I could easily put Pony though school with an higher pay. But it would require me to take a huge risk. I'm not sure, I can afford to make a mistake with Pony one year away from college. ", I say
"What ever decision you make it will be a great one. I just know it.", Jenny says
I had the desire to kiss her right there. I was nervous, my heart raced and my palms were sweaty. I felt like a boy again ,a nervous boy wanting to kiss the first girl he would kiss. But Jenny wasn't my first, no girl had ever made me feel the way I felt right now.
"May I kiss you?", I ask
"Yes, you may.", Jenny says
I lean in and our lips meet. She tasted like cherry chap stick , it was a pleasant taste. She kissed right back and I hungrily kissed her. I felt something different when I was with Jenny. She made me relax, enjoy myself and feel like a boy. I hadn't felt like this in a long time, not since high school.
