I threw the role of condoms at Soda. "Count them", I say defending myself

"The cocky Darrel Curtis has returned", Pony says
"So then what did you do if you didn't have sex?", Soda asks
"We slept in the small bed and cuddled. Nothing sexual, i just stayed the night.", I say
"So spill the details.", Pony says
Present-
Maybe Jenny was right, I should take the job. I've been cleared to work as a roofer, this new job is perfect timing. I need to start thinking about myself. I usually just think about the boys when planning or thinking how would this effect them. But may it's time ,I thought about myself for once.
I changed into a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. I took a seat in my favorite chair, I began to think. I'm gonna take that job, it's a perfect opportunity. I decided, today was the first step I would take for a life for myself. My boys are almost grow, they are men now.
Little boys need a parent, men just need support. I wasn't guide my boys along, I would never forget what they had done for me. They surprised me on father's day, and made me breakfast in bed. They celebrated me although I'm not their father. It was great, I secretly loved it.
"Pony , Soda. Could you please come in here?", I ask
"Sure", Pony calls
"Coming.", Soda says
The two rushed into the living room, Pony took a seat on the couch and Soda took a seat on the floor. "Lets talk man to man.", I say
"What is going on?", Pony asks
"Should I be scared?". Soda asks
"No, I just need to talk to you.", I say with a chuckle
"Shoot.", Soda says
"Thank goodness, you had me scared. ", Pony says
"I got a job offer from a friend of mine, Adam Carter. He wants to go into business together. He says he could uses my knowledge and skills in roofing. We would have an equal partnership and the business would be Carter-Curtis Roofing Company. What do you think?", I ask
"It sounds like something you should do.", Soda says
"It's a great opportunity, don't let it pass up, Dar. ", Pony says
"It would require me to bring work from home and a few late nights.", I says
"Go for it.", Soda says
"If it what you want to do , what's stopping you.", Pony says
"Alright, I will give Adam a call.", I say
I dail the number Adam had given me a few days before.
"Hello, Adam.", I say
"Darrel?", Adam ponders
"Yes, it's Darrel.", I say in reply
"Have you thought about it?", Adam asks
"Yes, I have. I've made my decision. I want to become your business partner.", I say
"That's great, I couldn't have a better partner.", Adam says
"So where do we begin?", I ask
"You have to quit your job and we need to get started. I've got a new jobs lined up, all we need is a crew and we can get started.", Adam says
"I know how we can get a crew together.", I say
"How is that?", Adam asks
"My former boss has a list of men who have been laid off. I know most men personally, I know which ones will be hard workers. It just takes a few phone calls and we can have a crew.", I explain
"That sounds great. Talk to you later partner, we need to get together sometime this week.", Adam says
"Alright, call me and we'll make a plan to meet.", I say
"Bye,", Adam says
"Bye.", I say
I hang up the phone gently. I have a new job and a partnership at that. I smiled as I walked into the living room, you know what i think I'm gonna surprise Jenny and tell her the good news. I went into my room, I needed to clean up a bit. I combed my hair and I placed some after-shave on. I grabbed my jean jacket and slipped on my converse.
"Boys, I'll be back.", I call
"Where are you going?", Soda asks
"Out. Damn, you are nosy.", I reply
"I bet you are going to see your girl.", Soda says
"She's not my girl, I haven't asked her.", I say
"Then ask her, you dofus.", Pony says
"Maybe I will.", I say
"Good boy, hit the road Jack, and don't ya come back.", Soda says
I grab my car keys and I climb into my truck. I drive to St. John's hospital, I know that is where I can find Jenny. I couldn't get her off my mind, she was always there. There was a feeling, something about her I couldn't put my finger on. I feel like i've know her personally my whole life. I knew her but not on a personal level.
Jenny was just a silly girl, a classmate who I competed against when it came to had the highest grade averages. We were co-valedictorians when we graduate, We both gave speeches. I hadn't realized how attractive Jenny was. She had become a beautiful graceful women and I had know her as a awkward, smart good two shoes from the west.
I pulled into the hospital parking lot and I walked to the front desk, I knew Jenny worked in the Emergency room. I walked to the desk and found a blond woman at the desk. "Could you find out where Jenny McCarthy is?", I ask
"Let me see if she is off duty.", the nurse says
"Thank you.", I say
The nurse begins shuffling through some information before getting back to me.
"She's off duty, she's has a lunch break right now until one thirty. She starts rounds after that.", the nurse says
"Thank you.", I say
I rush to the cafe hoping to find Jenny. I was a man on a mission, I wanted to ask her to be my girl. I wanted to tell her I accepted the job. I found her sitting with Peter, John and Jamie.
"Jenny.", I say
"Darrel, what are you doing here?.", Jenny says
"Could I borrow you for a second?", I ask
"Sure, I'll be back in a moment.", Jenny says
We walk into the hallway, I took her hand. I looked into her brown eyes and my heart raced. I knew that I cared a lot a bout Jenny. Maybe, I love her , i don't know what falling in love is like. I know what puppy love is and this is that. Real love, is a new scary feeling, I'm not sure what is going on.
"Jenny, I accepted the job.", I say
"That's great.", Jenny says kissing me on my lips
Her slight capped warm lips meet mine, our lips danced together. I tasted her cherry chap stick and found I love her. I love, Jenny. I love Jenny, I hadn't realized it until now. I was in love, she made me feel different. Not like other girls, she made me feel a hundred different feelings at once.
I pulled up because i needed air , other wise, I would have kissed her longer. Kissing Jenny was a lot different than kissing other girls. Jenny was different, that was for sure. I might be falling in love with Jenny but i don't want to scare her. If i tell her now, maybe she get scared. I can't lose Jenny, I need to find out if she feels the same way,but how?
"Jenny, will you be my girl?", I ask
"Yes, Darrel. I will be your girl.", Jenny says
