You can't avoid him forever you know, Felicity.
It had been 4 days and I still hadn't spoken to Oliver once.
I honestly didn't know what to say. The whole dynamic in our relationship shifted.
Could I possibly be calling Oliver Queen my... boyfriend?
No... I couldn't
It hardly seemed like a reality, more like a deeply craved fantasy.
I just lay in my sheets and became completely oblivious to the world for a few days.
Oliver left a few voicemails, which I listened to a thousand times and swooned still at the thought of his delicious lips clinging onto mine.
I finally decided to get up and do something with my life... or the fact that one of the sexiest men in Starling City wanted to 'talk'.
I picked up my phone and clicked 'O'. Yes, I had him on speed dial.
The phone rang for about six seconds and I already grew so nervous that I hung up before he had the chance to pick up.
I walked slowly to my bathroom. I brushed my teeth, washed my face and put on some make up.
I opened up my closet. I flicked through my dresses, until I found a fiery red halter body-con dress, which did many, manyfavours for my cleavage. I also wore my favourite black strappy suede heels. I grabbed my black Michael Kors handbag to top my look and left my house.
As I stepped out, I saw motorbike parked across my street. A big black motorbike no one could miss. A bike I knew the owner of.
Oliver's bike.
He was seated inside with the window rolled down.
He didn't see me as he was on the phone talking to someone. I wanted to run down the steps and walk quickly away from my house but he would see me. My only option was to face him then and there, even if I hadn't even thought of what I would say to him. That was kind of why I needed to drive to him. I needed a bit more time.
I hesitantly crossed the street and stood by waiting for him to finish his phone conversation.
"Hi." I said awkwardly.
"Hey. You going off somewhere?" he asked me.
I suddenly felt a bit overdressed. "Erm... no, I-I-I was actually coming to see you."
He got off the bike and we stood there awkwardly staring at each other.
Oliver and I said at the same time, "I –"
We laughed and then he allowed me to talk first.
"Firstly, I'd like to apologize, I know you're not a fool and you've realized that I've been kind of avoiding you."
"Oh, really? I never noticed." He said sarcastically.
"It's just that, I've always felt this way about you, you know and then you drop the bombshell that you felt the same way. I guess it just took me aback. I've had trust issues for as long as I can remember and I forgot I'm not used to the whole 'relationship' thing." I explained. "But after some hard contemplation, I realized that you are the best thing that has happened to me so far. You are amazing, Oliver. You've been through so much and I think you're strong. I also think that I might I love you."
He looked into my eyes. Then he smiled and said, "I think I love you too."
I put my hand on his cheek, and then I kissed him. This time it wasn't a little peck, it was a passionate lip-lock and then some.
"So, what were you going to say?" I queried.
"Nothing." He whispered before he kissed me again.
"So, can I take you out somewhere?"
The butterflies in my stomach were fluttering at full speed.
"Wait, on that thing?" I looked at the bike.
But a date with Oliver Queen... Who am I to turn down such an opportunity?
After some convincing, Oliver gave me his helmet and we rode to Starling's own Italian Bistro. I was surprised he had the money to even drive me to that place let alone take me to a lunch there, considering his now not-so-high net worth.
"Is this where you take all the 'gals' to try and win them over?" I joked as he helped me of the unbelievably high bike.
"Nope. So I guess you're special."
I blushed a little. Even though I couldn't help but to think that it was a lie. He was a womanizer. All womanizers know that a way to a girl's heart is through her stomach. Fine Italian Cuisine? That can get a guy laid.
We were sat down and we both chose our meals.
"So... are we going to tell John... about, well, this?"
He squinted a little and then smiled. "What do you think?"
"Let's keep it between us for now, then when we're comfortable we can tell people. It's probably best."
We spent an hour – even though it felt like an eternity – talking, relaxing, gazing. It was the best day I'd had in like... forever.
After Oliver and I made it to the lair to find Diggle.
"Hey, Dig." I smiled. "We weren't expecting you to be here."
He grinned slightly, "Yeah, I thought you guys would."
"Erm, we were just on a –"
"– We had lunch." Oliver continued.
I looked at him and then back to Dig, "Yeah, what he said. So how's Lyla?"
"She's good. We had our first scan today. It was quite overwhelming. Nothing like seeing your child for the first time."
"That's amazing Dig. So... what's the sex?"
He sighed, and then followed it up with a slight smile, "We're having a girl."
I could see Oliver's eyes light up. I slowly threw my arms around Dig and congratulated him. "Eeee!" I squealed. "I'm so excited! A little baby girl. Yes! I love kids."
"Congratulations, John." Oliver gave Diggle a 'man hug'.
"Thanks, man."
Dig and Oliver began their training session, which was fun for me because I got to watch Oliver fight half naked - something I'd enjoyed doing even before we finally proclaimed our formally concealed feelings.
"Do you mind if I join you guys? I mean I've always wanted to learn a little self-defence." I smiled sweetly.
They both stared at me blankly and then back to each other smiling.
"Well, I don't mind." Oliver put his hands on his waist.
Dig shrugged then said, "Neither do I."
"Great."
I quickly went to change into my Nike sports bra and yoga pants.
I walked back into the room. My reappearance seemed to distract Oliver as he put his gaze onto me and John gained the upper hand and slammed him onto the mat.
Oliver got up and shook it off. "Erm... you... you ready?"
"Dude, I was born ready."
"Alright." He told me as I walked onto the mat and Dig walked off. "Come at me."
"What?"
"Do it. Go on."
Hesitantly, I threw a single punch at him with my right arm. Oliver was already ahead of me as he quickly caught my arm in his left hand, spun me around and I suddenly was on the floor underneath him.
Oliver got up and offered me a hand, "Punches are the most expected type of defence and are super easy to avoid." He informed me. "If you're going to swing, swing hard"
"Right." I took his hand and stood up.
"Now," He lifted my arm and put my hand towards me shoulder then said, "Clench your fist. Put all your power, every emotion, every feeling – good or bad – and then when you're ready hit me right here." He pointed to his chest.
"Are you sure I mean –"
"– Do it."
I closed my eyes and put all my might into what I thought was the hardest, most painful punch ever.
Oliver yelled and put his hand on his chest.
"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry!" I panicked.
Then he turned back around to face me and burst into laughter, along with Diggle. "I'm just teasing."
"Some people aren't meant for combat" I shrugged and giggled.
"Hey guys." A voice said from behind.
We all flinched and turned to see who it was. It was Roy, he was back.
"You guys doing a group training sesh without me?" he asked sarcastically.
"Welcome back, Roy. It's nice you see you. You alright?" Oliver asked.
He nodded. "Better."
"That's great. You ready to come back?"
"I think so. I've had some air and I think I'm ready to come back." He said maturely. "Thea left and I think it's for the best. It makes it easier to live this double life."
"I'm glad that you have accepted it. Whilst you were gone, Felicity, Digg and I have been setting up something special for you."
I turned on the light to Roy's own special glass box with a red suit inside it.
His eyes widened with excitement.
"We guessed your favourite colour was red considering you fight in that red hoodie." I said.
He walked closer to the box. "Oh my... this is amazing. Thank you guys."
"One condition before you can wear the suit." Oliver said.
"Sure! What? I would do anything to wear that." He said with heart-eyes. "It's so kickass."
Oliver walked closer to Roy. "You have to promise to learn to shoot an arrow."
Roy nodded, unhesitant.
"I'd figured he'd say yes so I had this made." I walked behind the glass box and pulled out a case with a custom made arrow, like the one I had made for Oliver. "But I guess you have to use the training arrows before you can use this one, huh?"
"Thank you, Felicity." He smiled. "Even though it seems like I'm not at times, I am really grateful to be a part of this team."
I was back home on my couch in my pyjamas watching the latest episode of Scandal.
"Olivia, no! Come back! Get off that damn plane. You're supposed to be with Fitz! Not Jake." I yelled to my TV screen as the episode was ending.
I wasn't feeling as uneasy as I did earlier on in the day. Oliver and I had finally recognised the undeniable sexual tension confessed the feelings we had for each other. We were sort of seeing each other. I liked the fact that it was a secret sort of thing. It just made it so much more exciting.
The doorbell rang. My heart began to beat as I headed towards the door. I was really hoping it was Oliver. I mean who doesn't want a surprise visit from Oliver Queen at dusk.
I opened the door quickly at the hope it was Oliver with a box of chocolates and some roses. But no, it was Dylan, again.
I was about to slam the door in his face but the jammed his foot between the door frame and the door.
"I know I have no right to demand anything but please just hear me out, Felicity." He said. "I'm begging you."
