Jenny's pov
Previously
"Darrel.", I said taking his hand
He looked up at me with a gentle smile and tears in his eyes.
"Jen.", He said hoarsely
No words had to been exchanged, we hadn't seen each other in months. I had tears streaming down myself as I kissed him so gentle and he kissed me back. No words were need, it was perfectly translated. "I love you, I miss you, I was scared but I have you again."
Present
We all pulled away from our kisses when we were both out of breath. A sense of relief was evident on his face and he looked happy with a spark returned to eyes. He was a little different with his short hair cut and the beard neatly trimmed on his face. He seemed like he lost a bit of weight and retained most of his muscle. His skin was tanned and it showed that he was a solider.
"I thought I lost you.", I said with tears in my eyes
"Shhh, it' alright, I've got you now that's all that matters.", Darry says
"I was so so scared.", I say
"So was I. I thought I was going to die.", Darry says nearly sobbing
"I'm so sorry that you had to go through that.", I say also sobbing
"A good man does to war, my darling.", Darry says
"I so scared, I waited many months for you to come home. It scared me so much to not know whether you were alive or not.", I say in tears
"I'm alive, Jen. Life is so fragile but you have to hold on. I held on for you, Jen. ", Darry says brushing my tears away
"I missed you so much.", I say
"I missed you too.", Darry said kiss my hand
"I'm so glad you're okay.",I say
"I had promise to keep. Did you think you were going to get ready of me that easily?", Darry said with a light tone
"I have so much to tell you.", I say happily
"Alright. Make yourself comfortable.", Darry says
Near the spot where Darry sat was a large over chair. I took a seat in that chair with Darry across from me. I missed him so much and he returned to me again.
"I have some big news.", I say
"Okay.", Darry says
"I found out I was pregnant shortly after you deployed. I was scared to tell you and i feared that you would loss your focus by worrying about 're a Daddy.", I said gently wanting him to process it
I watched his face and saw the smile that appeared on his face.
"That's great, Jen. Boy or Girl?", Darry asks happily
"Both actually, a boy and a girl.", I say
"Names? And do you have pictures?", Darry asks
"Todd Douglas and Terri Elizabeth. We call Terri, Terri Beth. They are four months old.", I said handing him the photos
"I love their names. Absolutely perfect names, Jen.", Darry says
"Thanks, I picked them out but Soda coined the nickname Terri Beth.", I say
"Which one is which.", Darry asks
"The darker hair one is Todd and the lighter haired one is Terri Beth.", I said point the children out to him
"They are perfect, Jen. You did a wonderful job, they are so lucky to have you as their mother.", Darry says
"Are you upset that I didn't tell you sooner?", I ask
"No, I'm not upset in the slightest. I trust you to make the right decision and loving someone is about trust. Besides, I always wanted to have children and have a little family.", Darry says kissing my cheek
"I love you.", I say kissing him back
"Marry me.", Darry says with a smile
"What?", I asked making sure I'm hearing this right
"God, I'm not doing this right.", Darry says with a smile
I watched as he rolled over the bed and pulled something out of the bedside table. I watched with careful eyes as slipped something into his pocket. He rolled swiftly back where I was sitting.
"Jennifer Grace McCoy, I'm so in love with you. My world changed the day I meet you, I found myself again and I want a future with you. I want to share my life with you, I want to grow old with you and I want to have a beautiful family with you. Marry me and make me the happiest man in the world.", Darry said with so much love in his voice
With tears streaming down my face, I managed to whisper, "Yes."
"Yes, I'll marry you.", I say
He took my left hand and slide the ring onto my hand. His lips brushed against mine and I felt the love radiate from his kiss. I kissed back so tender and loving. We were making up for lost time. We all pulled away when we needed air. I felt his thumb brush the tears away and he kissed my cheek. I found my one true love again, our lives can start together and we can become a family.
"Dance with me, Jen.", Darry says
"Are you sure you're up to it?", I ask
"I'm sure, I want to dance with the prettiest woman I've laid my eyes on.", Darry says
"Alright. But what about music?", I ask
"A radio, I borrowed one.", Darry says with a smile as he turns on the radio
"I can't help falling in love with you" by Elvis Presley started to play on the radio. It was our song,the song that we danced to on our first data and now again after the man I love asked me to be his wife.
"You are a sneaky man.", I say as he takes me into his arms
"Maybe a little, but I figured you would come by and visit.", Darry says
"And how is that?", I ask
"My doctor received news when you landed in Berlin.", Darry says
"Do tell,did you plan to propose to at this moment?", I ask
"Nope, I just say you and you told me about our little babies. I couldn't help but think that ring was in the drawer and I planned to ask you.", Darry says with a smile
"I do love you very much.", I say
"I would hope so, dear.", Darry says with a smile
So we danced in the Berlin moonlight in that hospital room. We swayed softly and enjoyed being in each other's arms. We had lost time to make up for and we started early. I was going to be Dr. Jennifer Curtis, wife of Darrel Curtis Jr. and the mother of his sounded more perfect than that. Together in each other's arms, we forgot our troubles and got lost in loving the other.
