The next morning . . .
It was one of those things you rarely saw. It was something that hardly happened to begin with. But when it happened, you just couldn't help but stare in awe.
Such momentous event, you're probably wondering, was Kat getting out of bed on her own accord before noon.
Kat dragged her slipper-clad feet across the hallway leading away from her room. She'd passed Mrs. Briefs, who had told Kat that there was some warm breakfast in the kitchen, so she was now heading downstairs.
"Mornin'," Kat mumbled tiredly.
"Oh ho ho, lookie who's up," Bulma joked as Kat took a seat.
"I couldn't sleep well," Kat sighed, digging in to her food.
"Oh no, now the world will definitely end because Kat couldn't get any sleep," Bulma laughed before sipping some coffee and looking over some papers.
"Laugh it up 'cause that just means I'ma be here for more hours of the day. But anyway, you're up early as well."
"Yeah, I couldn't get much sleep either. Too many things running around in my mind."
Kat groaned, understanding the feeling.
Noticing Kat's tired mug, Bulma jokingly asked if she had any plans for the day.
"Actually, yeah. Yesterday, I met a few people and it reminded me of a few years back when I was considered a 'Public Enemy', I buried some things up in the mountains for safekeeping. Um, Mount Paozu I think it was."
"And you're going to get your things."
"Damn right, before I re-forget and get lazy."
"You do realize that Mount Paozu isn't exactly the safest place in the world," Bulma said.
"Well parts of it. There are some nice spots up there like some natural hot springs . . . but I'm actually considering bringing the pain in the ass with me, as weird as it may sound."
"Kat, are you ok?" Bulma questioned warily, pressing the back of her hand to Kat's forehead. "Or is there something going on that I don't know about?"
"Like?" Kat knew exactly what Bulma meant.
"Oh you know…" Bulma trailed off.
"You don't mean, the sex?" Kat gasped.
"Alright I get it," Bulma caught on.
Kat laughed. "Please, like he could ever be my weekday booty call."
Bulma could only shake her head at her friend.
"Don't worry about it, I'll be fine. I'm more than capable of looking after myself," Kat assured. She glanced over at her friend and noticed her troubled expression along with her constant fidgeting and fiddling with the papers in her hands. "Something else is bothering you, isn't there?" Kat asked seriously.
"Well, um, actually, there's been something I've been wanting to talk to you about . . . a very important something," Bulma began slowly.
Kat could tell this was serious for she usually never saw Bulma fidget this much unless it was something that really bothered her.
"Does this pertain to me?"
Nod.
"About?" Kat slowly questioned.
Deep breath. " . . . Your parents."
She held the papers out to Kat.
Kat stared at the papers unsurely before finally taking them. Bulma gave her an assuring nod when Kat glanced up to look at her.
It was silent as Kat skimmed through the papers before looking back at Bulma. "Are… Are you sure? Because if this is a joke.."
"Those papers in your hands say it all Kat."
Kat set the papers down and took a deep breath before tiredly rubbing her face. "Wow.. this is.. wow," she ran a hand through her hair. "I.. uh.. wow," she rubbed her face again.
"I'll give you some privacy," Bulma rubbed Kat's back.
It was quiet as Kat glanced at the papers she had set aside. She didn't know how to react. She wanted to continue reading every last note on there, yet at the same time she felt scared to even touch the papers.
Sighing, she slipped the papers in the manila folder Bulma left behind and headed back to her room with the folder.
Tossing the folder on the nightstand, she plopped onto her bed – completely disregarding the large mass that was already there. Undoubtedly slipped in while she was gone.
Raditz poked his head out from under the covers and glanced over at her. He yawned before pulling the covers back over his head. She nudged him with her feet to scoot over. He was a giant of a man sleeping in the center of her bed. She was basically dangling off the side. He complied and scooted over so that they each had a half of the bed and that boundaries were kept.
So there she was, asleep atop the covers while he slept under them. Who knew what time it was when she felt some shifting behind her followed by an arm draped over her hip.
Still half-asleep, "No touchy," she groaned and tried to remove the limb. "Raditz, no touchy," she mumbled. Glancing back over her shoulder, she could see that he was still very much asleep. She reached back and lazily poked and nudged his face. He scrunched his face and pulled her to him. "No," she groaned in her sleepy state but wow was she sleepy. Before she knew it, she had passed out again.
Finally waking from her slumber, she yawned and stretched out then snuggled back into her 'pillow' as the remnants of sleep slowly left her. Yawning again, she couldn't help but notice how muscular her pillow was. Watery eyes cleared up to reveal what she had thought to be a pillow was in fact Raditz's arm.
"The fu…" she sat up and glanced over at the still sleeping Saiyan who was on his back with his arms sprawled out. Was that why she was sleeping on… she groaned and rubbed her face. The last thing she remembered was sharing the bed half and half, not, center of the bed and snuggled in between his body and his arm.
"Get up," she shook him… or at least tried… he was heavy. "Wake. Up."
"What," was all he said.
"It's late. Wake up and get out of my room," she was using both arms now. "I. Have. Things. To. Do!"
He tugged her arm and made her fall over him. Crossing his arms behind his head, he smirked at her flushed face.
"Get up!" she scrambled up and off the bed. "You've slept long enough in my bed." That sounded weird. Her face heated up again.
He yawned loudly and finally got up as he outstretched his arms over his head. "Just what exactly do you have to do that was worth waking?"
She turned to face him. "One, this is my room and that is my bed-"
"Oh yes," he smirked.
"Wha- youuu..." she pointed a finger at him before composing herself. "I would have kicked you out either way! And two, I'm going up to the mountains to pick up something I left behind years ago. I'm not sure how long it'll take. Last time I was there was when I left my things. Want to come?"
"Of course I'm going," he scoffed. A chance to be anywhere but here, of course he'd take it. But also to be alone with his dear human acquaintance, oh yes.
A few hours later . . .
"Now just what are we looking for?" a grumpy Raditz asked.
"My things!" Kat replied, looking over her 'map'. "I just… I know it's here somewhere…" she groaned as she tossed her backpack down and plopped down under a tree.
"Let me see that," he snatched the paper away from her. "What- is this what you've been looking at?!"
"It's my map," she stood up.
"No, it's a drawing labeled 'tree', 'big tree', 'big ass tree', and a circle labeled 'water'."
"It's my map," she snatched the paper back.
"We're never going to accomplish what we came here for with that children's drawing," he crossed his arms.
"My map!"
He scoffed and flew up. There was no water in sight. He was beginning to question if they were even on the right mountain to begin with. Coming back down, they were startled by the sound of a loud 'bang'. It sounded like a gunshot. But who…
There was some rustling in the nearby bushes when what appeared to be a baby dinosaur ran out from them with its head lowered. When it spotted the duo, it halted in its steps and looked around frantically. It looked terrified. But why was it so scared? And why was it running?
"Hey!" Her question was answered when a man holding a rifle emerged from the same bushes as the dinosaur. She frowned. A hunter.
Spotting the hunter, the baby dinosaur hid behind the massive form that was Raditz.
"That's my kill!" the man called out to them, pointing at the dinosaur.
"Fuck off!" Kat retorted from behind Raditz as she hugged the baby dino. Although a baby, it was still pretty big. Its height was probably the same as hers… probably a bit bigger.
"You'd better get out of the way! I can get all three of you with my gun!" the hunter warned, taking aim.
"No!"
"MOVE!"
"FIGHT ME OLD MAN!"
"I warned you!" the man fired his gun only for his eyes to nearly fall out of his sockets as Raditz easily caught the bullet.
"Tch, annoying," Raditz flicked the bullet back at the hunter's feet. The man fell back on his ass before scrambling away shouting 'monster'. Raditz walked over and picked up the gun the man had left behind. He examined it then crushed it in two and shattered the pieces with his foot. Hearing Kat giggle, he glanced over his shoulder to see the baby dino licking her face. "Quit coddling that thing," he said as he walked back towards them.
"I'm not," she giggled once more as the baby dino nuzzled her face. "He must be really happy we saved his life." Noticing the look he gave her, "You. You saved our lives… is what I meant to say." Continuing on their search, it had not slipped by her that the baby dino was following them. "Baby Dino, you need to stay," she pointed to the ground. He sat down and stayed seated as she slowly walked backwards. The second she turned around, he was up and running over to them.
"Look what you've done. Now that thing will never leave us alone," Raditz scoffed.
"It probably feels safe with us. That or I just befriended a dinosaur," she laughed. "Are you my friend Baby Dino?"
First she befriends the thing now she's talking to it, Raditz thought as he looked on at Kat's interaction with the dino.
"Hey, you live around here. Think you can help us out? We're kind of lost." She reached back to grab her map from her pocket and showed it to Baby Dino.
"Katherine I don't think that thing understands what y-" he stopped talking upon noticing Baby Dino's head snap up from the paper. He looked around them before motioning them to follow.
"Suck it," was all Kat said as she followed closely behind.
As they continued on, they came across a stream and began to follow the direction from which it emerged from. As they did, they noticed the trees were beginning to thicken. The branches covered most of the sky and looked as if they all interlocked to form a giant tree with multiple trunks that extended along the stream. Giant tree… Big ass tree!
"Oh, oh! I remember now! It's close!" she called out excitedly as she picked up her pace. She squeaked in surprise when Baby Dino nudged her atop his back. She was riding a dinosaur! Hell yeah! "Onward Baby Dino!" she pointed forwards all the while laughing. When they finally reached the origin of the stream, a spring, Kat hopped off of Baby Dino, pulled out her map, and held it out to Raditz. "Hey Raditz, what's that?" she pointed at the spring, "Oh yeah, water! And that?" she pointed at the interlocking trees, "Big ass tree! And that?" she pointed at two lone trees closer to the spring, "Tree and big tree! Ha-ha suck it! My picture was on poi- hey!" She whined when Raditz snatched the paper and incinerated it in his hand. "If you're going to do that, then do it over there," she pointed a ways from the two lone trees. "It should be buried there somewhere."
"Somewhere?" he smirked. "So I just need to blow up this entire area and then we'll be on our way?" he laughed, catching the dirty look she threw at him. He walked over to the spot she mentioned and held his hand out and pointed towards the ground at an angle. "How deep?"
"Not much, I dug the hole after all." She scratched her temple in thought. How big was a shovel? Because she was positive it was less than that… or was it? Shit! "Wait!" she called out to the Saiyan. There was a chance that he'd destroy it. Shuffling around in her backpack, she pulled out a small container containing capsules. She activated one to reveal a hovering flat cylinder like object. It was a metal detector. She didn't think she'd need to use it but it was better to be safe than sorry.
After quickly programming it, she tossed it over by Raditz and watched as it began to work. It stopped just a little ways from him and emitted a few beeps. Walking over to it, she crouched down and looked at the display screen with a slight frown. "That's not right," she murmured as Raditz stood over her. "But then where is…" she trailed off.
"What's wrong?" he questioned, trying to see what was on the display screen.
She grabbed the metal detector and stood up. "It's… the key," she showed him the display that had a rough outline of a key. "It's about 1.8 meters down."
"1.8 huh? Very well then." He fired a small blast creating a small dust cloud that quickly settled. Kat tossed the detector inside the hole before hopping in herself when it began to beep. "Did you get it?" Raditz questioned when she pulled herself out of the hole. "Alright we have the key now where is what it opens?"
"I….um…" she trailed off in thought. If anything, she was positive that hole would contain the chest. But if the key was there instead… where the hell did she leave the chest? She looked over at the two lone trees before her eyes moved over to the spring. "No," her face dropped. "It can't be… I… nooo," she groaned while pointing at the water.
"The spring? The damn thing is in the spring?!"
She nodded. She reprogrammed the metal detector and watched as it hovered over the water with its laser scanning below. It eventually stopped and emitted a few beeps then returned to her. Checking the screen, she sighed in relief. "Alright!" she clasped her hands together, "We found it. Now to get it…" she slowly glanced over at him.
"It's yours," was all he smugly said.
"But," she whined.
He simply crossed his arms over his chest.
"Ugh," she whined and pouted only to be nuzzled by Baby Dino who had been sitting quietly the entire time. "Thanks pal," she petted his head. Walking over to the lone trees, she planned out her course of action. She hadn't expected having to take a dip. Groaning, she set her backpack down and put Baby Dino in charge of her things. Kicking off her shoes, she was about to take off her shirt when she glanced from behind the tree at the Saiyan who had yet to move. Good, he'd better stay there. Removing her clothes, she was left in her sports bra and spandex shorts.
Staring at the water, she inwardly groaned.
"You're taking too long." She heard right behind her. She practically whipped around in his arms. "Here," he scooped her up and stepped into the spring.
"No. No no no nononononononoooo." But there was no stopping it. "RADITZ YOU MOTHER FU-" she yelled up until she landed in the water. Coming back up for air, "You piece of shit!" she flipped him off.
He laughed and leaned against the bigger of the lone trees.
This wasn't exactly how she thought of approaching the situation but here she was now. Taking a deep breath, she began to dive down to where the detector indicated. Everything was so clean and clear, she absolutely loved it. She looked around until she spotted something rather blocky by a small ledge near the rock wall. She came back up for air then swam straight towards it. Getting closer, it was indeed what she came here for! Grabbing a handle, she kicked off the wall to swim back up when she encountered a small problem… the chest was heavy! Kicking off again, she got some leeway only to sink back down. She tried one more time but nothing. Running out of air, she came back to the surface.
"What's taking so long?" Raditz called out to her. "Have you found it?"
"I have but… I can't… I can't carry it! It's too heavy and I keep sinking back down."
He laughed. "Needing my assistance?"
She grumbled to herself as he began to strip down then head over to her. "I wouldn't need your help if the chest wasn't so heavy."
"Ah but here we are," he swam closer to her. "Aren't you glad I came along?"
"Ecstatic," she pushed him away. "The chest is down on a small ledge near the rock wall." Swimming towards the chest, Kat was relieved when Raditz picked it up with no problem at all.
"Of course you wouldn't be able to handle something like this," Raditz smirked as they swam back over to Baby Dino.
"Well excuse me for not being some savage of a Saiyan," she squeezed the water out of her hair then put her clothes back on.
"Quite the tone for someone who just helped you," he threw her a smug look as he clothed himself as well.
"I would have figured something out," she grumbled, pulling the key out of her backpack and inserting it into the lock. She felt a surge of giddiness as she slowly opened the chest and saw its contents. Gold, silver, diamonds, rare minerals and stones, and more! And it was all hers!
"This, is yours?" Raditz questioned, kneeling down beside her. "Where did you get all of this?"
"It's, um, a long story," she rubbed the back of her head and closed the chest.
"Do tell. It's getting rather late and I don't think you'll be flying in the darkness with that aircraft of yours."
Fuck. He was right. It was getting late. She wouldn't make it back in time.
"Come," he picked up the chest. "Let's find a place to set up our camp."
"Hey wait!" she shuffled around in her backpack and pulled out a capsule Bulma had left her if she decided to stay in the mountains for an extended amount of time. "This is a house… I think."
"Perfect. Now hurry so that we can discuss how exactly you came to be in possession of this chest."
"That information is nothing you need to worry yourself about," she crossed her arms as they walked a short distance away from the spring and to a small clearing. They were still among the interlocking network of branches but there was a relatively small gap that allowed a view of the sky. It was the perfect spot. Activating the capsule, poof, came the house.
"You stole this," he patted the chest as they stepped inside into a living room of sorts.
She blinked then faced him. "Listen. We don't know anything about each other and it should stay that way. There's nothing I need to tell you and there's nothing I need to know about you. The less we know about each other, the better."
"Ah but Katherine," he set the chest down then faced her with that roguish grin, "I think we know each other pretty well."
"You…" she narrowed her eyes and looked up at him.
"Now tell me," he sat down on one of the couches and pulled her down to sit atop his lap.
"H-hey!" she could feel the heat in her cheeks as she tried to move away. "Let go!"
"Come now, I think we should take the opportunity to get to know each other more," he smirked.
"No!" she continued to fight with his hands before groaning loudly. "Fine! If I tell you will you leave me alone?!"
"That seems a bit unreasonable," he laughed at the glare she gave him. "But, I'll let go."
Eying him for a second, she ceased in her attempts to pry his hands and crossed her arms over her chest. "I didn't steal the chest. I stole everything in it. Happy?"
"Very." His Katherine was a thief? Very interesting. "Continue."
"What? No."
"Katherine. In order for me to uphold my end of the agreement, you need to uphold yours," he loosely wrapped his arm around her shoulders.
Arms still crossed, she held her tongue and shrugged his arm off – opting instead to lean back against the couch cushions. "I stole the contents… years ago during a different time of my life when I suppose you could say I was a criminal. These spoils are, 'keepsakes' if you will, that I got during the span of the majority of my adolescence. Eventually some things happened, I met some important people, and I got to a point in which I needed to make some serious decisions pertaining to my future. That eventually resulted in me stuffing my things in this chest and hiding it up here."
"What could have possibly happened that would result in you leaving behind the glorious life of a criminal?"
She smiled and glanced at him, "I met Goku."
"Kakarrot?" he sneered.
Kat nodded. "Meeting him changed my life for the better. Him and Bulma. Ah," she sighed, "if it weren't for them, I'd probably be either in prison, living low key, or probably dead."
"How is it possible you're about freely?" he inquired.
"Magic," she grinned. He gripped her knee and she laughed, "Or as we call them, Dragon Balls."
"Those things again? Aren't those the things that are going to bring Kakarrot back? Those balls must have a lot of power if they can apparently also alter memories."
"You have no idea," she finally got up.
She wandered around the house with Raditz right behind her, much to her annoyance.
Entering one of the bedrooms, "Is this where we'll be sleeping?"
She blinked then turned heel to face him. "Listen," she pointed her finger at him, "this is where I'll be sleeping. I as in me as in alone and not with anyone else except myself. You will be sleeping in the other room, away from this one and away from me."
He grasped his chin in thought, "Hmm, that does not sound appealing at all, Katherine."
"Is it the room?! Do you want this room? I'll switch you rooms, jeez! Just stay in it!" she huffed.
"Surely we can be civilized individuals and share the bed again," he flashed her a grin.
"What? No! There are two bedrooms! And you, be civilized?" she scoffed, "You're a savage from outer space. What do you know about being civilized?"
He leaned over her, voice low and deep, and eyes shining with something, "Will you be the one to tame me, Katherine?"
She crossed her arms and met his eyes. "Please, you aren't worth my time."
He smirked, still leaning over her, "I am worth enough time to seduce. Come now Katherine, don't you remember?"
Her brow twitched. "I- that wasn't… listen," she poked her finger at his chest. "That wasn't shit. Don't feel so special. I'd have to be completely wasted to ever get with you. Hell, I had a few drinks in me when I did that. I'd never have pulled it off sober."
Looking down at her finger on his chest then back to her, "Tell me, how sober are you?"
"What?" she tilted her head in slight confusion.
Without warning, he closed the gap between them as he crashed his lips onto hers. Her eyes widened as she felt his hands move to her waist and the small of her back. Face flustered, she pushed against his chest and stepped back. That actually stole her breath. She didn't know what to say. She didn't know what to think. She didn't know whether or not to feel horrified over the fact that she might have actually liked it. Just a few seconds ago, she was ready to beat him over the head with a bat for being so damn annoying. But now, after feeling his lips against hers and his body almost engulf hers… something inside her just…
"Tell me," his voice husky.
It sent chills down her spine. Was this okay? Was anything about this okay? Should she just let this happen? Would she let this happen? It was no lie that she obviously found him attractive… very, very much attractive… but to actually get to this point…
Was it something that was bound to happen?
"Katherine," he took a slow step forward.
Swallowing the lump in her throat, "I..I don't think I am."
With a triumphant smirk on his face, he closed the gap between them once again. Her mind was running a million miles at the feel of his lips moving against hers. Gripping his shirt, she leaned into him and deepened their kiss. His hands traveled from her shoulders, to her back, to her waist, before finally traveling down further to grope her rear. It was at that moment that she tore away from him.
"No no no no no no," she repeated over and over as she shoved him out the door and locked it shut.
Staring at the door, Raditz licked his lips then headed off to his room feeling very much satisfied with himself.
No no no no no no no no, Kat paced back and forth in her room. No! It could not happen! It absolutely could not happen! She berated herself over and over again trying to forget just how good she had actually felt! If she didn't stop, they surely would have… ughhh!
Dragging her hands over her face, "I need a shower," she mumbled. Hopefully bathing in cold water then going to bed afterwards would be just what she needed. It was late after all and nothing sounded better than sleep. However everything was always easier said than done.
Eyes wide open, she stared at the ceiling for about an hour. She couldn't clear her head. She tried to relax and sink into the bed's welcoming comfort but that had no effect on her mind.
Forget about it. Just forget about it. It was not going to happen. It would never happen. That was just a brief moment of weakness and fall into temptation. It was a one-time thing and that was as far as they would ever get. Yes, yes, that felt much better. It was just a one-time thing.
It felt as if another hour had passed before she finally felt some mental relief. "Son of a bitch," she muttered, drifting off to sleep.
The next morning, she was awoken by the sun shining directly on her face. Ah, her morning nemesis. She didn't even bother checking the time. It was early. Even by her standards. Glancing out the bedroom window, everything looked rather, relaxing. This was something you would definitely never see living in the big city. And she wasn't going to waste it. Getting dressed, she made her way out for a morning walk.
Sometime later, Raditz emerged from his bedroom and immediately caught whiff that Kat was not in the building. Saiyans had a strong sense of smell and her scent was one he was very much familiar with. Following it outside, the various array of scents flooding his nose almost made it hard to track hers but alas he was able to distinguish it. It eventually led him to the spring where they had recovered the chest the previous day. However the closer he got to the spring, the harder it was to distinguish her scent. Looking around, he spotted the dinosaur asleep next to a tree trunk but no sign of the woman. Odd. Unless… she were to have gone for a swim… there was nothing in the vicinity so that was unlikely. Looking around once again, he averted his eyes up above to the trees when something caught his attention above the sleeping dinosaur. Up on the branches – arms crossed, head tilted back, and leaning back against the trunk – she was undoubtedly asleep.
Quietly approaching, he-
"I know you're there," she glanced down at him with a yawn.
He blinked. "But how?" he questioned.
She smirked, "I sensed you."
"You.. sensed me?"
She nodded, "Your ki. You know, the ear-piece thing that you depended on in order to detect? Yeah I can sense it."
"But, how? You're just a human," he crossed his arms and leaned against the tree.
"A human that can sense ki apparently. Something you can't do," she scoffed. "If you want to start training, then perhaps, being able to sense ki would be the way to start. It's not so hard. Everything has an energy to it and you just need to be able to reach out to it and feel it… or at least that's how Goku put it when he taught me… Something like that."
"Kakarrot?" he sneered. He was tired of hearing that weakling's name.
"Yes, Goku." She looked down and could see his displeased expression. "Perhaps once you are able to sense it, you'll be able to control yours at will afterwards. I'm sure you'll get it in no time. Every living thing has ki, no matter how small it may be – humans, animals, plants etc. You just need to find it. Like right now, I can sense your ki and I can sense-"
She stopped talking. He glanced up and noticed her uncertain expression. She was looking around. But for what?
"Katherine?"
"This energy . . . I recognize it but from where?" she murmured. She could feel a familiar energy lingering around. It was quite faint but it was just within her range. "Raditz!" She slid down the tree and jumped on his back.
"Heh, so are we trying something new?" he smirked at her from over his shoulder.
"N-no! You.. shut up and fly!"
"Where?" he crossed his arms.
"I'll tell you just go!" she rushed. "I'll be back in a few," she pointed down at the dino who yawned and rolled onto his side.
He had no idea what was going on so he simply complied and flew up until they were well above the trees. Perhaps he'd get something nice in reward for this. He followed her directions until she abruptly told him to stop and lower down to the ground. He landed in what appeared to be a clearing.
Kat got off his back and looked around until she heard rustling in the bushes. There! A figure then jumped from out of the bushes leaving both Kat and Raditz shocked and speechless.
It couldn't be! Raditz thought. But it was! It was unmistakable! It was-
"GOHAN!" Kat nearly cried as she practically pounced on the poor boy and embraced him in a tight hug.
"M-Miss Kat?" Gohan stuttered, slightly surprised himself.
It was him! It was the brat! The boy. His nephew. Gohan! He certainly didn't look like the crying baby he had kidnapped when he first arrived on the planet.
"Gohan, ah! Look at you! You look, big. I just, I'm just so glad you've been alright all of these months."
"I've been ok Miss Kat, but, what about you?" Gohan questioned, glancing over at Raditz. "You haven't hurt her have you?" he called out to his uncle.
This definitely got Raditz's attention. So now the boy thought he could call him out? Kid had guts, he'd give him that.
"What if I have?" Raditz replied smugly.
Kat smacked her hand over her face. When she looked up, Gohan was in front of her protectively and facing his uncle.
Raditz scoffed. Was this kid challenging him? Nephew or not, he would teach the boy a good lesson or two.
"You'd better not take a step near the boy if you know what's good for you," a new, deep voice, interjected.
Everyone froze and looked in the direction of the voice.
"Piccolo!" Gohan exclaimed, surprised.
Well wasn't this fucking perfect! Now the green man was here as well! Was anyone else going to come? Hmmmm?
"Piccolo, what are you doing here?" Kat asked.
"I sensed his energy near," he replied referring to Raditz. "What are you doing here?"
"I sensed Gohan's energy nearby."
"Nearby? What are you doing up in the mountains? Why are you not in West City?"
"Ehh, treasure hunting," she shrugged.
"I assume you two are on good terms?" Piccolo questioned, glancing over at the smirking Saiyan.
"Ugh, it's complicated," she groaned, pinching the bridge of her nose. That's when an idea struck her. She motioned for Piccolo to follow her so that they weren't within hearing distance of the Saiyans and had a little chat with him.
"Why should he come along with us?" Piccolo questioned.
"Again, whether you believe him or not is entirely up to you. I mean his offer does sound nice, but then again this guy did try to kill us. You tried to kill us too at one point in time but hey let's not bring old stories eh. The only reason you teamed with Goku was to take down a common enemy so what he's offering is basically the same thing."
"Should he act up beforehand would result in his demise."
"Oh of course," Kat waved her hand at him. "I presume you've already surpassed the level he was at when he arrived, which is technically the level he's at now since he hasn't been training at all. Killing him would be no problem for you should he misbehave."
He thought about it. If these two Saiyans really were as Kat described them, having an extra member on their side could possibly increase their chances at winning.
"It's very unfortunate that we don't have many options at this point," he frowned.
"Unfortunately," she sighed. Walking over to the pain in the ass, "C'mon take me back. You're getting what you wanted."
"Of course I am," he grinned, taking them back to their site.
Stepping inside the home, "Like hell would I ever miss you," she scoffed, throwing the door at his face.
"You cannot lie to me, Katherine," he caught the door and shut it behind him.
"I'm not," she glanced over her shoulder only to see him reach out for her.
"Come now," he pulled her to him and held her by her waist. Her hands went to his chest in an attempt to keep him at arm's length away. But that was hard because he was still tall as hell and towered over her. She tried to walk back but he just matched her steps.
"If anything," she pushed against his chest, "I'm ecstatic you're finally leaving."
"Really?" he raised an eyebrow in amusement, still matching her steps. He leaned down but she leaned back. He smirked. One more step and..
"What the-!" she fell back on the couch. She scrambled to sit up but he was already over her.
"Well this is something," he grinned.
"What do you want?" Eyes narrowed, she propped herself up on her forearms.
"You know what I want," he stared at her.
She averted her eyes. Damn it. It was last night all over again. She pursed her lips, feeling his eyes on her. "Now?"
He nodded, leaning in.
Biting her lip, she leaned up to him and pressed her lips to his. Feeling him smirk against her lips, she leaned back. "Well not if you're going to be an ass about it." He merely laughed and reclaimed her lips. "Ass," she mumbled against his lips.
He kissed her feverishly and was more than pleased when she slowly leaned back onto the couch and wrapped her arms around his neck. Parting for air, his kisses trailed along her jaw then down to her neck before she felt him get off of her.
She blinked at his standing and smirking form. What just..
He flashed her that roguish smile then walked out the door.
THAT SON OF A….
She got up after him. "I hope you fucking starve and die you piece of shi- GOHAN!" she clamped her hand over her mouth at the sight of the boy standing next to his uncle.
"Miss Kat, are you alright? Your cheeks are red," Gohan expressed his concerned at Kat's still flustered face.
"I.. I'm alright," she tried to compose herself and ignore the smirking Saiyan, "What are you doing here?"
"Mr. Piccolo said we'd be heading out so I came to…" he trailed off but Kat understood what he meant. If they left, Raditz wouldn't know where they were so Gohan had basically come to pick his ass up.
"Well there he is. Make sure he dies before the year is over," she smiled at the boy. "Take care Gohan."
Something was going on and he didn't know what. It was probably an adult thing. Either way, he waved goodbye as he took off with his uncle.
Stepping back inside, Kat exhaled loudly while rubbing her neck, "I swear I fucking hate him."
