Organizing LoVe

Sitting in the back of the car on their way to the Christmas party, Logan turns to Veronica. "I know you know this but I am very excited about our wedding and honeymoon next month." She smiles in amusement. Everyone who knows truly Logan knows he is excited about their engagement, marriage and honeymoon. They have both been so busy at work, getting ready for Christmas and of course their wedding that it will time to leave for their vacation before they know it.

Last week when she was shopping with Mac, her best girlfriend tried on a long dress that Jessica had designed and made for her. Jessica picked an off the shoulder dress that was similar to Veronica's wedding dress. She found some material in a deep blue/grey material and knew it would look amazing on Mac so she went ahead and made it. When Mac tried it on, she stood looking at the mirror in shock. It made her hair look like it had it had chestnut highlights and gave her a sexy figure. Veronica took one look and handed her black Amex card to Jessica stating, "It's perfect!"

Mac stood in front of the mirror turning and looking at the back of the dress and then the side. She shook her head and then looked at her friend, "I look like ..."

Veronica finishes, "a model."

Nodding Mac agrees, "Yes," as she continues to move in front of the mirror.

Smiling Veronica mock complains, "No one is even going to look at me if you are wearing that."

The brunette looks over at her friend and makes a face, "Logan is going to faint when he sees you in your dress."

Surprised at her pronouncement, Veronica asks her friend, "You think he will be nervous?"

"No," Mac smirks, "His blood will flow from his head down to ..."

Giggling Veronica points out, "That is my plan for our wedding night."

Mac is pleased that being with Logan has made Veronica so confident physically. She knows how worried Veronica was in college about pleasing the more experienced Logan. Obviously that is not an issue anymore. When they went Christmas shopping last week, Veronica easily picked ten new lingerie outfits as well as a selection of new bras and underwear.

Logan looks over at Veronica and he has to smile. To his delight, Veronica is very relaxed about the wedding. She trusts him to make good decisions about planning a dinner and dance. She helped him pick out their wedding bands as well as their gifts for their attendants. She OK'd the press release about the wedding and worked with Logan to finalize their vows. They both will read part of a poem about love and will agree to be joined in name. It is more personal than a civil ceremony but remains private between them and the people who love them. Logan is content with the vows. He understands that she doesn't believe that you can promise forever and he is content if she promises now. The forever will come with a million nows.

It was Veronica's idea that they ask that in lieu of gifts, donations be made to Logan's Foundation. They have enough money to get what they want so it is only fitting that the cause closest to Logan's heart benefit by their marriage.

It turns out that only Phil and his wife from Veronica's team can come to the wedding. Otherwise almost everyone on her list could get the time off to come. Of course everyone on Logan's list agreed to come even if it is only for a few days. Most are wealthy and it looks good career wise to be his friend and invited to his private, exclusive wedding.

The tiny blonde looks back at the man sitting next to her and she easily returns his smile. Now that some time has passed, Veronica has come to see that it was good for her to see her mother and to make some small sort of peace with her. She is no longer the mother Veronica remembers and it is silly not to accept that and just get what enjoyment she can out of the situation. She has let her have too strong a hold for too long. She looks up at her fiancé and says, "I hope you know how good you are for me." He meets her gaze and she can see he is pleased at her praise. He always thought he needed her more than she needed him. Even if that was true before, it is not true now; Logan is her rock. She adds quietly, "I would never have gone to see my mother without you. Thank you for knowing what I need and helping me deal with it."

He smiles at her, his face full of love as he tells her, "I just want you to be happy."

"I know," she answers quietly, "I am happy because I am with you."

He tells her easily "I am happy with you." He is thrilled with how she is open with her feelings this time. She is still very prickly with others but it means the world to Logan that she is gives him the words as well as the actions. He gently caresses her hand and shares "I am glad that Leanne is coming to our wedding."

Veronica sighs a little and then tells him, "Am I a bad daughter if I admit that it doesn't mean that much to me?" He merely squeezes her hand in response and waits for her to elaborate. Meeting his gaze she tells him, "I want to feel more that she is coming. I want to be excited that my mother is going to watch me get married." She looks down at their joined hands and takes a few moments to think about how to word what she wants to say. Finally she looks up and sees that he is patiently waiting for her to say what she is feeling. Looking into his brown eyes she only sees love, understanding and support. Biting her lip a little she continues, "The truth is I am more excited that Alicia is going to be there."

Logan feels a little flutter in his heart. He knows how hard it is for her to talk about her mother and the fact she is sharing her innermost thoughts with him is very touching. She just proves to him over and over that she is going to work hard at their relationship. Sadly he agrees, "She's your mother but she hasn't been a mother to you for a long time."

Her blonde hair moves as she nods, "I guess seeing her is just a reminder that she hasn't been there."

"I think it is really hard to finally let go of the image you have of someone," Logan responds. He tells her how part of why it was so hard that Lilly was murdered was that she was no longer the girl he had fallen in love with. "She wasn't the Lilly that was in my heart and she hadn't been for a while."

Veronica sits a little stunned. She knows that Logan and Lilly's relationship had been difficult but they were both so young. He looks at her and admits, "I told myself I loved her but the reality was neither of us wanted the relationship anymore. We both kept going back to each other when we both didn't love each other like that anymore." Logan struggles a little to put his feelings out there, "I had this view of the Lilly I fell in love with but our relationship didn't grow with us. We didn't work at it. We weren't even good friends at the end."

"Oh, Logan," she commiserates feeling sad for his pain.

He gives her a small smile and adds, "When I discovered you were still investigating her murder and confronted you about it, you told me you loved her. I realized that your relationship with her was good at the end. She was your best friend and you lost her. Duncan lost his sister." Pausing significantly he adds, "I lost a girl who I didn't love that way anymore and I didn't have a solid relationship with."

Veronica tilts her head in thought and finally says, "I guess that is how I feel about my mom. She hadn't been there for a long time. I missed the mom I remembered not the one who left."

"I think it is harder to lose someone when the relationship is not good and things are unresolved," he comments.

Nodding as she thinks she finally tells him, "I have to agree. When Lilly died I really missed her and I was upset about how she died but I never doubted her feelings for me." She adds, "When Mom left I then had to wonder if she really loved me or cared about me."

He is impressed at her ability to really listen and to respect his feelings. He loved that about her at twelve and he loves it even more now. She loved Lilly but she accepts that he may have had conflicted feelings when she was murdered. He tells her, "Lilly was vivacious, wild and she could really be a bitch but there was something really special about her. She loved ferociously with her whole being." He raises her hand and gently kisses it telling her, "I wish with all my heart that Lilly was alive; amusing and alternately frustrating both of us. I know though that Lilly and I wouldn't be together. I hope we would have found our way to be friends."

She smiles at his thought that Lilly would still be Lilly and they would be entertained and upset by her at times. It was her way. Veronica laughs a little and pronounces, "Lilly Kane was never boring."

Logan laughs at the shared feelings, agreeing, "No, she was a lot of things but boring was definitely not one of them." They sober and Logan carries on the conversation, "I struggled after Mom died partly because of how it happened but partly because I had some anger towards her that we never talked about."

She looks at him her blue eyes brimming with sympathy. Having a mother leave you is one thing but killing herself is something else. Leaving you with an incredibly sadistic emotionally and physically abusive father is another situation entirely.

For Logan sitting there talking with Veronica about Lilly and his mother is really special. He doesn't talk about either of them with anyone else. Only Veronica understands and she is the only one he would trust with his feelings about the two other important women in his life. He says quietly, "I think that whatever you feel for your Mom is OK. She has made a lot of bad decisions and she is paying the price for them now. We will try and be there for her if she needs us and we will hope that she decides to get help and she actually quits drinking. Maybe then she can have a real place in our lives." Meeting her gaze he finishes, "No matter what we will handle it together."

Her eyes tear a little and she is filled with gratitude that she and Logan are back together. It has been a year since they moved in together and she has to admit it has been the best year of her life. She sees his concerned gaze and tells him, "I love you so much Logan."

Logan leans in and puts his forehead to hers. He tells her, "I love you Veronica."

The driver patiently waits to open the door. After Veronica has composed herself, Logan taps the window. He gets out and assists Veronica out. It is their year anniversary of moving in together and although he really wants to just take his fiancé out to celebrate, he is attending the Blackmore Foundation's Christmas party. He is not sure why he has been invited but Roger had the invitation hand delivered and there was a personal note for him to please attend. Of course, Logan has been the recipient of a multitude of invitations to charity functions and business Christmas parties. He has been careful to pick only the necessary evenings out. Now that he is engaged, his popularity has only increased; having Logan Echolls attend and bring his new fiance is a real boost to your party.

When he helped her out of the car, there were paparazzi taking their picture but the couple ignored them and their questions. She is wearing a long, black strapless dress that hugs her tiny hips and then hangs straight to the floor. It shows off her toned arms and her petite frame. She is wearing her diamond and pearl necklace and earring set. Over top on this chilly nights, she has on a deep blue long coat. Logan is wearing a dark suit and they look really good together. He easily escorts her into the building and once inside, helps her to remove her coat and check it. As they wait to go into the ballroom, he leans down and whispers in her ear, "You look ravishing tonight."

Her smile widens and she returns, "Good because I want to be ravished tonight."

It is his turn to smile at her quick return. She has always been so interesting and fun to talk to. When he puts out his arm to escort her into the ballroom and through the greeting line, she immediately tucks her hand in and they walk into the doorway together.

Roger Blackmore smiles when the couple walks in. He was pleased that they agreed to come to his party. Only a few important men on his board of directors knows that he is considering Logan Echolls to take his place on the board and they will be very interested to talk to Logan tonight as well as meet his fiancé. He is not worried that Logan won't impress the powerful men and women in the room tonight, he is concerned that they won't impress the young man with so much potential.

Logan Echolls is a valid and desired candidate for the role and they have been considering him for a few years. Now he has reunited with his high school sweetheart. Their last break up sent him into a dangerous tailspin so his decision to reunite and now marry her has naturally caused the group some real concerns.

Roger has been able to spend some time with both of them. What is immediately clear is that Logan is first and foremost about Veronica and although she is difficult to figure out, she is for him. The fact they are a team is a factor that will have to be taken into consideration. Logan will give up this opportunity if he doesn't feel it fits in his future plans with Veronica. He is unique that way; most young man when offered the future that Roger is going to offer Logan Echolls would jump at it no matter what the circumstances. Logan will weigh his options and consider it carefully; if he even suspects it would harm his relationship with what he considers his soul mate, he will turn all of what is offered to him down.

Roger introduces Logan and Veronica to the board members who are waiting at the door to greet the guests. After his routine trip through the greeting line, Logan gazes around the enormous ballroom. This function is huge; there must be a thousand guests there. Logan again wonders why it was so important for he and Veronica to be there. He initially wanted to turn down the invitation. Tonight is their year anniversary of agreeing to live together and it is an important date for them as a couple. Still it is obviously an expensive affair so the drinks, food and music will be good. Tonight he can focus on his beautiful fiancé without having any duties.

Veronica is having many of the same thoughts as her man. Why on earth did Roger want them to be there? Anyone who is anyone is here tonight. She knows that there is a reason for Roger's insistence that they attend. Veronica looks around while she sips the champagne that Logan handed her and covertly sees who else is there. Logan standing beside her, leans down and whispers, "You are not at work now dear."

A small smile crosses her face and she looks up at him innocently, "I am not looking to see if we are in danger."

Interested Logan meets her gaze and asks, "Ohhh, are you casing the place?" He knows that her FBI training has her noticing all the exits, where security cameras are, and finally who is there and who might require further examination.

Her smile grows and she deadpans, "Yes, I see jewels I must have."

Amused, he teases, "Have I created a monster?"

"I don't think it is me that is turned on by jewels," she tells her handsome fiancé.

Smugly he thinks about how Veronica is very agreeable to wearing just her jewelry, "I do love how you look in just your jewelry."

Looking up at him she asks, "Should we mingle and see who we can hit up for donations? There is a cornucopia of wealthy patrons here."

Although pleased at her support of the charity he started, Logan shakes his head. He meets her gaze and shares, "Tonight is about us. I am going to focus on you."

Pleased she glances up at him giving him a flirty look, "I went shopping last week and I put a Grand Canyon sized dent in my black Amex card."

He notices her flirty look but her words are not really congruent with her posture. He points out, "Your card is unlimited. You can't really max it out."

Shaking her head at how he missed her point, she tries again, "I spent a lot in a certain store."

"Good," he says as he leans down to kiss her temple.

She puts her hand on her hip and tells him, "Logan, you are ruining my seduction."

A little shocked, Logan comments, "I would never!"

Shaking her head at his obtuseness, she clears it up for him, "I went shopping for lingerie for our wedding night and honeymoon. I might have gone a little overboard."

"Oh," he comments his interest peaked, "Are you wearing something new tonight?"

Giving him the 'I am now annoyed' look she tells him sadly, "I already feel a headache coming on."

Undeterred he puts his hand on her back and pulls her close to him. He whispers in her ear, "I'm ready to leave. I think we've done our duty."

Charmed, she smiles up at him and accepts his gentle kiss.

Roger Blackmore stands with a couple of his closest allies and they are watching the by-play between Logan Echolls and Veronica Mars. Roger has noticed that the two of them don't really seem to need anyone else; they are in a world of their own and they choose to let others in at times. Jackson Price comments, "I am a little concerned that Echolls is in a relationship. For the last few years it has looked like he would remain a bachelor."

Nodding Roger comments, "Yes, that would definitely have been easier."

Denton Franks looks at Roger and checks, "You are sure about her?"

Immediately nodding, Roger tells the two men, "She is going to be a real asset for Logan."

Jackson takes a sip of his expensive scotch and comments, "I think I may have to dance with the future Mrs. Logan Echolls."

Roger corrects him, "I don't believe she is going to take his name."

The two men frown a little as they ponder what that means. Denton takes a sip of his expensive scotch and says, "It is time that we got to know them a bit better." The bell for dinner rings and people start wandering into the banquet area looking to see what table they have been placed at and who will be sitting at their table. Logan puts his arm out to assist Veronica as they wander through the tables looking for their names. Denton lifts his scotch up in a toast to his friend, "I'm up."

Logan and Veronica find their table surprisingly close to the head table. Logan pulls out his beautiful fiancé's chair and helps her sit and then sits beside her. He easily greets everyone at the table and listens carefully to their names. Both he and Veronica are blessed with good memories and have no difficulty remembering the names and important information about the other people at their table.

Denton sits down next to Veronica and introduces himself around the table. He doesn't mention that he is on the board of directors; he only mentions his name. He is in an ideal position to listen in on the conversation between the young couple next to him.

During a lull in the conversation at the table, Logan takes a moment and focuses on the woman he loves. He lifts his glass towards the tiny blonde who has become so important to him, "A toast to the best year of my life." He meets her gaze and adds quietly, "You were always the center of any of my dreams about the future. Now I find that life with you is even better than I ever dreamed."

She bites her lip like she does when she is touched and toasts him, "To the most forgiving, patient and loving man I know. Thank you for showing me what real love is."

Gently he touches his glass to hers and adds, "To the future."

She nods and echoes, "To our future."

They both sip the expensive champagne as the waiter brings their entrees. Logan was correct in his assessment that this is a first class meal. As he eats, Logan listens to the woman and man sitting next to him. Veronica is listening to the couple on the other side of Denton when she feels her fiancé take her left hand in his. Absently he plays with her fingers and then her engagement ring. When the waiters arrives to refresh their water and drinks, Logan answers the woman sitting next to him, "This will be our first Christmas together."

Veronica smiles as she thinks about how enthusiastically Logan has joined in on all her traditions. They bought and decorated a huge tree. They decorated their living room area. Veronica baked cookies for her family and their friends. Logan has really enjoyed picking and getting gifts for his new family and all their friends. Last year they agreed to move in together but they didn't buy their new home until after Christmas. Logan with his crazy way of celebrating certain days in their lives, counted the day they agreed to move in together as an important date. She listens as Logan is questioned about their marriage plans and basically shares that his security team has forbid him talking about the date or location. He lifts the hand he is holding and kisses it, "I wish it was tomorrow." The women at the table smile at his desire to get married. Veronica notes the envious glances she gets. Logan is handsome, rich and romantic. She knows she is lucky. She also knows that many of the tabloid stories have her marrying him for his money and that they both already fool around on each other. She meets his gaze and smiles. Wanting to get the attention off her relationship with her fiancé, Veronica looks across the table and asks one of the women she sees wearing a mother's bracelet about her family. The woman and her husband are only too willing to talk about their children and grandchildren.

Denton is impressed at how calm, self-possessed and savvy Veronica is. Her expression is interested as she listens to the talk at the table. She shows nothing of what she is thinking. Roger is definitely right about Logan. He is not going to agree to anything that is not good for his relationship with Veronica. They are first and foremost, a team.

After the delicious meal is over, Veronica and Logan wander into the ballroom and find a place to sit not too far from the dance floor. Logan gives her a brief kiss and then heads off to get her a drink. Denton follows. He will keep Logan talking at the bar while Roger and Jackson talk to Veronica for a few minutes. Veronica is happy to see Roger and they immediately begin a conversation about the Gun Club and after looking around to make sure Logan is not nearby, Veronica confides that she bought Logan a gun for Christmas. Roger is interested and happily Veronica describes finding it in an estate sale. It is a rare antique six shooter that has been passed down in one family from generation to generation; stored but not used. Shaking her head she admits, "It is too heavy for me to use but Logan will absolutely love it."

Roger easily talks with Veronica about her father and Scott and she smiles happily as she updates him on the basic family news. She quizzes him about work and turns her attention to Jackson asking him about his life. He is polished in his answers but Roger sees that Veronica has noticed the vagueness of Jackson's answers. She is definitely on guard with him.

Logan arrives back with a mixed drink for Veronica and scotch for himself. As he hands it to her, he shares, "The bartender claims this is his personal special." He easily greets the two men after he passes his fiancé her drink. Veronica takes a small sip and thinks about what she is tasting. She tilts her head as she thinks and then says, "It's amazing!" Logan smiles at her.

Roger reminds Logan that he will taking his own jet to their wedding. Logan nods his understanding and teases Roger about making sure the photographer takes pictures of him on the beach. Roger laughs and admits that he is looking forward to a short vacation. He adds, "I doubt I will surf but I love to swim and will jet ski."

Logan is relaxed and talks about enjoying what the resort has to offer before he and Veronica leave. Roger smiles and teases, "I am scared to ask where you two decided to go for your honeymoon." He already knows as his security team is top notch and keeps tabs on the couple. Logan returns Roger's smile and laughs, "Veronica doesn't even know where we are going."

Surprised Roger looks at Veronica quizzically, "That doesn't sound like you."

Mock frowning at him for intimating that she is controlling, she answers, "Logan is much more traveled than me."

Jackson joins in the teasing, "I hear Antarctica is amazing this time of year."

Logan laughs and says, "I think we will save that for another trip." The discussion goes on to places they have travelled with Veronica mostly listening. The two men have traveled extensively and Logan enjoys listening to some of their more unique vacation spots.

The two men excuse themselves when the dancing begins and they each go and ask someone to dance for the first song. After the first dance, Logan escorts Veronica onto the dance floor. The couple looks polished as they dance together. Logan is an accomplished dancer and Veronica is used to dancing with him. After a few moments, Veronica asks Logan, "Do you know why Roger wanted us to come tonight?"

He shakes his head and answers, "He never said."

Tilting her head a little she ventures, "I think you are being vetted."

A little surprised Logan meets her gaze and queries, "Vetted?"

Nodding she lowers her voice and says, "Jackson Price and Denton Franks are quietly powerful men. They are associates or friends of Roger's." She adds meaningfully, "They have both checked us out tonight."

"Maybe you are being checked out." Teasing Logan points out, "Mr. Franks sat next to you and Mr. Franks talked to you while I was getting your drink."

"While Mr. Price cornered you by the bar," she quickly responds..

Logan gently shakes his head and says, "Well Denton didn't really want to talk to me about anything important."

Veronica nods her head in agreement, "He was placed next to me at dinner. He could hear what we talked about and he could observe us."

"Observe?" her fiancé questions.

She leans closer and answers definitively, "Yes."

Logan thinks about what she is telling him. He has no reason to doubt her observations. He just hadn't picked up on any plot to get to know him. Finding out information about his past, his writing and his Foundation would be easy. It would not be as straightforward to find out information about his personal life. His family and friends don't talk to the press. Veronica is a closed book to almost everyone. Logan accepting her premise merely tells her, "I will update David tomorrow."

She smiles up at him and teases, "Well whatever they have planned for you, it will have to wait. I am going to take up all your attention for three whole weeks after we get married."

Meaningfully he agrees, "Yes you are."

Later, Veronica is dancing with Jackson and Logan is at the table talking to a couple who are interested in boat racing. He is having a great conversation about the times he has crewed for his neighbor and the couple happily talks about their boat, races they have entered and the process of becoming involved in overseas racing. Logan's phone vibrates. He takes it out to answer it and frowns at the display. It is an LA number but he is not familiar with it. His number is private so if someone has it, they must know him. He excuses himself and moves to a quiet area to answer. To Logan's surprise, it is Dick. Frowning Logan asks, "Dick where are you calling from?"

Veronica dancing across the room notices her fiancé answer his phone and his frown. When she sees his mouth drop open and him look at the dance floor for her, she puts her hand on Jackson's shoulder and regretfully tells him, "I believe I am needed. Thank you so much for the dance."

Jackson easily stops their dance and escorts her across the floor to where her fiancé is now waiting for her. He has enjoyed talking to her. She is clearly intelligent, hard working and no body's fool. She appeared to be open and easy to talk to when she told him absolutely nothing he couldn't find out from the internet. Roger is right in that she may be a good partner for Logan Echolls.

When they arrive at the table, Logan has ended his conversation and has returned. He politely thanks Mr. Price for bringing Veronica back and he makes their excuses for leaving. Jackson notices that Veronica doesn't question him, she has opened her phone and is calling their security driver to bring the car.

She finishes her call and very politely says goodbye to everyone at the table and accepts Logan's arm to escort her towards the exit. Impressed Jackson notes that Veronica doesn't question Logan, she accompanies him without any comment. Whatever decision he has made, she is going along with it without knowing what is happening.

Once in the car away from prying ears, Logan tells Veronica that Dick and John were arrested for getting in a bar fight." He pauses as if he can't believe it himself and adds, "On UCLA's campus."

She grimaces but schools her features to ask, "Do you know what they have been charged with?"

Logan shakes his head and tells her, "Dick says that he may have hit one of the officers." She squeezes his hand and doesn't say anything else about it; instead listening as Logan calls John's father, Dick's lawyer and Casey.

Veronica stands beside Logan and listens while he talks to the officer at the desk. She knows they look out of place; both dressed up amongst the drab surroundings. The tiny blonde listens incredulously as the police officer explains that Dick and John were involved in a bar fight with four college students. One of the students and a police officer had to be taken to the hospital.

Dick's lawyer arrives and is let into the back area to talk to Dick. The FBI agent thinks about how many chances Dick has had and how he clearly doesn't see that laws are meant for him. He is on probation and now has gotten himself into further legal trouble. She is experienced enough to know how this is going to end. Dick or Logan is going to throw enough money at the kid who was injured. They will pay for his hospital bill and persuade him not to press charges. Dick's mother or other contacts will get the DA to drop any charges related to hitting a police officer.

Although she doesn't think Dick should go to jail for getting in a bar fight, she wonders why he is still hanging out at bars with college students and why he is still acting like he is a glorified teenager. His brush with death and his stint in jail has obviously not taught him anything. She can't believe that he would hit a police officer.

Logan sits beside Veronica waiting for Dick and John's lawyers to come out and tell him what is going to happen to his friends. His fiancé is relaxed and patiently waiting beside him. He knows her well and she is not going to be happy that Dick violated his parole getting in a bar fight with a nineteen year old of all things. The young man is having surgery for a broken jaw.

Logan, in his work at the Foundation has gotten to know and respect the difficult job the police have. He admires his future father in law, Scott and the federal agents he has met through Veronica. He knows that they are not going to understand his loyalty to Dick. The tall young man runs his hand through his hair as he tries to assimilate that Dick assaulted teen aged college students and a police officer. To Veronica's credit, she doesn't say anything. She just sits beside her fiancé and waits patiently for him.

When John Englom Sr. arrives, Veronica excuses herself and goes outside to wait. She really doesn't want to listen to wealthy men overlook the laws she swore to uphold because they believe they have a different set of rules they have to follow. When Logan finally arrives outside, she just gracefully stands and asks, "Are you ready to go home?"

Logan nods and shares, "John's father paid bail for John and is going to take him home." He adds, "Dick is not going to get out tonight. He will have a bail hearing tomorrow."

She interlocks their hands and gently pulls him towards their car stating, "Is there anything more you can do for him tonight?"

Logan shakes his head and says, "I called his mother and she is going to use some of her contacts to get a sympathetic judge tomorrow."

Looking away for a second she says, "I see." Then after a pause where Logan is not sure what to say, Veronica continues to lead him towards the parking lot, "Let's go home. Perhaps Mrs. H. left us something sweet."

"That sounds good," Logan walks with her and assists her in to the car. He is grateful that she is not going to make an issue out of what happened tonight. Dick and John are his friends and he is worried about what is going to happen to them. His stomach is churning that Dick has to stay in jail tonight. He at least got to see him and see for himself that he is OK. He has a few bruises and may end up with a shiner but he seems healthy otherwise. Dick's lawyer thinks he will get out of jail tomorrow especially with his mother's connections. Then they can deal with getting the charges against Dick and John dealt with.
