Elliot rushed into the hospital room with Olivia before they saw Katie's tiny form in the large bed. She looked a little pale, but much better than she did before. She was wearing a small hospital gown and bracelet, her finger held in the pulse monitor clip. Her eyes were trained on the TV playing a sitcom that was older than Daniel. "Katie?"

Katie's blue eyes turned to them. Her face lit up seeing the two in the doorway. "Mommy!"

Olivia smiled and hurried to the bed, sitting down on it and hugging the brunette. "Hey sweetie! You gave me a scare tonight! How are you doing?"

"I'm tired." Katie said rubbing her eyes.

"I bet you are." Olivia whispered before kissing her head. She looked up when she felt Elliot's hand on her back, rubbing soothingly. "Maybe we should let you get some sleep, huh? We don't want you to be tired tomorrow when we take you home."

Katie shook her head. "I don't want to go to sleep."

"Why don't you want to sleep, princess?" Elliot asked furrowing his eyebrows together.

Katie looked up at Elliot before looking back at Olivia. "I don't want you to leave."

Olivia felt her chest constrict, momentarily choking her. She brushed back her hair behind her ear. "I'm not going anywhere, baby. I promise you that. You will never have to be without me." Holding Katie to her chest, she looked up at Elliot. He kissed her forehead seeing the tears in her eyes, sharing the heartbreak those words caused.

Elliot opened his eyes to find Olivia in the hospital bed with Katie, cradling her in her lap, as she watched the morning news. There was a reporter outside the hospital talking about Elliot bringing in Katie. "Hey." She looked his way, stretching out her legs. "How long have you been up?"

"I never went to sleep." Olivia breathed letting her head fall back against the pillow. She situated Katie in her arms, looking down at her. "She has been clinging to me all night. I didn't think I would hurt her this badly by leaving."

"You did nothing. It was me, Liv." Elliot said standing up. He cupped the back of her head, forcing her to look him in the eyes. "This all happened because of me. I should've been a better... well, everything. This isn't your fault, Olivia." He saw the doubt in her eyes, but hoped he would be able to convince her sooner or later. He glanced back at the TV again. "I should probably go make a statement so articles don't swarm about Katie getting a hold of drugs or something."

Olivia rolled her eyes. "Please, go. Stop that from happening. If you worry about the boys, they went to go get more food from the cafeteria."

"Again?" Elliot asked more to himself than to her. "They are going to eat the entire food supply here at this rate." He stepped out of the room, jogging over to the elevator, before heading down to the main floor. Standing alone in the elevator gave him a brief moment to remember he was still wearing flannel pajama pants and a plain white old t-shirt from the night before.

The doors opened and immediately he saw the frenzy of reporters outside, their cameras flashing up towards the hospital's exterior. He could tell the nurses and people standing around were not happy with the intrusion. At least, that's how he thought of it. When the first reporter saw him, the rest didn't take long to follow their lead. They nearly trampled over each other, pressing each other against the glass, as they tried to get their camera men closer to his presence.

Elliot opened the door, the crowd backing up a few feet to give him a personal bubble to stand in. He wondered if they were taught to do that or just did it on instinct. They crowded together as if space was a sin, but gave him enough room to feel the breeze on his chest. But even though he had space, they didn't give him time to hear the New York City buzz as they fired off questions at a rapid and random pace. He wasn't going to answer their questions though. "I know you are all here to know what is going on with my daughter. Last night, she had an allergic reaction to something she ate. My family and I have been here all night and she is much better now. She slept through the night and is said to be cleared to go home today. Right now, my girlfriend is with Katie, and we are just happy that she is going to be okay at this point." He was about to turn to go back into the hospital, grabbing the handle, when he heard a specific question that made him smile. He looked at the crowd over his shoulder, turning his body slightly. "My girlfriend is Olivia Benson, my nanny." With that, he turned back around a disappeared from their gazes as he walked back into the hospital.

"Did Dad just say that?" Nick asked as he stared up at the TV mounted up on the wall across from Katie's bed.

"Yeah, he did." Daniel nodded in the same state of shock. Neither son had seen their father show any sign of affection in public to his girlfriend. They hadn't even seen him do this to their mother when they were married. In fact, their mother never went out in public with their father. She would go shopping when he would be working. He would have premieres when she would soak in the tub at home, letting the nanny take care of them. "Liv, did you know he was going to do this."

Olivia shook her head, keeping her eyes trained on the replaying loop of Elliot making his statement. The station had muted what he said while the anchors were talking, but it was like she could still hear him just reading his lips. They seemed to be etched into her mind, making a permanent mark that would forever be a reminder of what he did for her. Katie stirred in Olivia's arms before opening her eyes, yawning as she stretched out. "What's going on?" She asked seeing the looks of surprise on everybody's faces.

Nick and Daniel looked at Katie and pointed to the TV. She furrowed her eyebrows and stared up at it, her eyes widening when she saw Elliot on the TV. "Dad was talking to a reporter." Daniel stated.

"A reporter? He said he didn't like reporters. Daddy said they are blood suckers, like vampires!" Katie announced, cuddling back into Olivia's arms.

"He doesn't." Nick said shaking his head. "He went to make a statement about you. He didn't want them telling lies about why we were here."

Katie furrowed her eyebrows, not understanding why people would tell lies about her. "What? I don't get it."

"Daddy was just on TV, and... I'm moving back home." Olivia smiled softly before kissing her head.
