At the witch house, Rose was outside with the guys. Anna was there, too, but she was giving the others new spell books to go over. "The sacrifice is completed in stages as the full moon sets. First the werewolf is killed, then the vampire. Finally the doppelganger. Once Elena dies, the curse will be broken. Klaus will become hybrid."

"So when do we attack?"

"Elena's death will activate his dormant werewolf side. He'll be vulnerable during the transformation. That's when bonnie comes in."

"And you're sure Bonnie will survive this?" Stefan asked.

"If she can deliver him to the brink of death, I'll finish the job myself." Elijah said.

"I still don't trust him." Rose told him.

"Neither do I, but he's our only choice right now." Stefan said. Just then, Anna rushed out.

"Okay, there's still no news on the spell." Anna said. "But I think we're getting close. I got a couple journals from Elena's lakehouse." Then Stefan's phone rang.

"Damon." Stefan took the call. "Cut to the chase. Is the sacrifice happening or not?"

"Uh, there's something I forgot to mention." Anna said.

"What?" Stefan said. He looked at Alaric. "Oh, my god."

"What's wrong?" Rose asked.

"Klaus took Jenna. She was in transition when I left." Anna said.

"He's going to sacrifice her." Rose realized.

"Not if we can get to her first." Anna said. "They're at the edge of the woods."

"Do you know where specifically?" Stefan asked.

"No, I was distracted following Elena and that witch to the site." Anna told him. "Hang on, I think I can map out the path." She pulled out a sheet of paper and began drawing it out.

"I think I know this place." Rose said. "I'll be right back."

Next thing she knew, she was at the Boarding House. "Elena hasn't returned any of my calls for days. I need to see her." She turned and saw Damon talking with John.

"Well, you're a day late and a daughter short, John."

"What are you talking about?"

"Klaus has her. Sacrifice goes down tonight."

"How could you let that happen? You were supposed to keep her safe."

"Hang on a minute, before you start blaming my friend for everything here, you should know that we've managed to track her location." Rose said, getting between the guys. "And we're still looking for a way to help her."

"Yeah, but so far, all that's happened is that things have gotten worse." Damon pointed out.

"How could it get any worse?" John asked.

"You just had to say that, didn't you?" Rose asked him. "I'm going before you two men jinx it even more."

Outside, Anna was with the guys and Bonnie. She wasn't ready to tell the bad news to Jeremy, but Alaric had already gone downstairs. "Why did he take Jenna?"

"A punishment for meddling." Elijah explained.

"That sounds like him, alright."

"Klaus was going to use Tyler and Caroline but Damon rescued them." Stefan added.

"I'll admit he had some help with that."

"Then we need to go. Now. Before Jenna's been sacrificed. I can kill Klaus myself." Bonnie said.

"Bonnie... If you use that much power, you'll be dead. We've already been through this. It's not an option." Stefan said.

"Neither is letting Jenna die." Bonnie pointed out.

"Yeah, well, either way, someone's going to end up dead if we don't do something." Anna said.

"We're going to offer another vampire. One that he'll want more." The group looked at Stefan. "Me."

"I don't know if that's the bravest thing I've heard or the stupidest." Anna said. "Look, if Elena does transition, she'll need you to help her."

"I'm aware of the risk. But we have to get Jenna out of there."

"I'll go, then. That witch might be powerful, but I can still reach out to Elena and her family." Anna said. "Here's the map." She handed it to Stefan. Then she disappeared from their view.

"I better keep looking for a solution. I think I found something in one of Anna's books." Bonnie said. "I just need to check it again."

Outside, Rose had just finished watching Damon and Alaric's conversation. She walked over to Damon. "You know you're a little scary when you're angry."

"Yeah, whatever."

"How are you doing?" Rose asked.

"Well, I'm hanging in there. For now." Damon said. He looked at her. "You knew about the wolf bite, didn't you?"

"I'd recognize one anywhere, considering this is where it got me." Rose admitted.

"The only thing that matters now is helping Elena." He told her.

"Guys, I think Bonnie found something." Anna said.

"Well, that's good news." Rose said. "So, how should we do this?"

"I think you should go to the site ahead of us and Anna will show up when we come there."

"Okay." Rose said. She embraced Damon.

"How is it possible for you guys to touch us?" He asked before she disappeared completely.

"In most cases, it's because we have a connection with the person, as for the others, I have no idea." They heard.

"Come on, they're waiting." Anna said. She led him over to where the others were.

"Jonathan journaled the story of a mother who called on Emily's services." John explained to them. "The woman's baby was sick; dying. Emily cast a spell that would bind a woman's life force with her child."

"Skip to the save Elena part." Damon said.

"He's getting to it." Anna told him. "And I think I remember this story. The mother's life force flowed into the baby, bringing her back to life."

"That's exactly right. How'd you know?" Bonnie asked.

"My mom was a healer, remember? I think she tried to help her, but it wasn't working, so I recommended Emily." Anna said. The girls smiled at each other, it was almost as though they were like sisters now.

"But Elena will become a vampire." Jeremy said.

"Not if her spirit remains intact."

"Really? You're putting your faith in some act of god mumbo jumbo?" Damon asked.

"This coming from the vampire who didn't believe that ghosts or werewolves existed?" Anna pointed out. Damon nodded, understanding.

"Look, it's the only way to keep Elena human."

Meanwhile, Rose had arrived at the woods. She went over to Elena. She could also see Stefan on the ground with a stake in his back. Then she saw Jenna on the ground. "Is he okay?"

"I think so." Elena said.

"He'll be fine, Elena." They heard a voice say.

"Did you hear that?" Elena asked. "It sounded like Jenna."

"I heard." Rose said. "Sometimes new ghosts have trouble manifesting, it's why some people think they're clairaudient."

Stefan woke up and noticed them. "Are the others here?"

"They're on the way." Rose answered.

"It's time." The fire around Elena vanished. She got up and walked over to the make-shift alter. Meanwhile, Rose went over to help Stefan. As she pulled the stake out of his back, she felt the wind shift around the area.

"You okay?" She asked.

"Yeah." He said. Meanwhile, Anna joined the others in watching. She briefly used her powers to help Bonnie conjure wind, but didn't want to hurt anyone.

"Is everyone okay?" Anna asked.

"Yeah, but it's too late to save Jenna." Rose told her. Damon had brought Elena over to them.

"Elena." Stefan said.

"Stefan, I trust you." A female voice said. "You guys have to get Elena out of here. As long as she has you guys for her friends, she won't be alone." Everyone looked around, wondering who it was.

"Jenna." Anna realized. Rose nodded in confirmation.

"Damon, Rose, get her out of here."

"What about you?" Damon asked.

"I'm not leaving until he's dead." Stefan told them.

"I'm staying to help Bonnie." Anna added.

"Meet me at the house when it's over." Rose said. Damon picked Elena up and sped out of there.

Anna used her powers to help Bonnie throw him to the ground. They looked at each other while Elijah walked over to him. "In the name of our family, Nicklaus..."

"I didn't bury them at sea! Their bodies are safe. If you kill me, you'll never find them."

"Elijah! Don't listen to him." Stefan called.

"It's no good, guys. He believes him." Anna said. "Maybe we could try a barrier."

"I can take you to them. I give you my word... Brother."

"Do it, I'll take you both out." Bonnie said.

"You'll die." Elijah pointed out.

"I don't care."

"I'm sorry." Before anyone could do anything, they'd left.

"Well, that was a bust." Anna sighed.

At the house, Rose watched as Damon set Elena down on the couch. "If you come back as a vampire, I'll stake you myself. So don't. Because I can't stand the idea of you hating me forever."

"You know, sometimes we all get mad, but we can never really hate anyone." Rose told him. Jeremy and Alaric entered the room then.

"How is she?" Jeremy asked

"I don't know yet." Damon said.

"What about Jenna?" Alaric asked. Damon looked at them. Rose put a hand on Jeremy's shoulder. "No."

"I'm sorry, Jeremy." Damon said.

"She isn't gone, though." Rose told him. "At the site, I felt her presence. You'll see her again." Jeremy looked at her.

"I'm always with you." He thought he heard Jenna say.

"Did you just hear that?" Jeremy asked. The whole room, apart from a still sleeping Elena, nodded.

Suddenly, a gasp made everyone turn to the couch. "Elena!" They all rushed over to her.

"What happened?"

"How do you feel?" Damon asked her.

"I feel fine." Elena told them.

"She's alive." Rose said. "Bonnie did it!"

"Not quite, guys." Anna said, appearing before them.

"Anna?" Jeremy asked.

"Klaus got away." Anna told them.

"I knew we couldn't trust that guy." Damon said.

"To be fair, I did warn you. Making a deal with an Original's like a double-edged sword. It could go either way." Rose told them.

"But the important thing, is that you're still okay." Anna said, hugging Elena.

"Okay, easy, I'm a little sore." Elena said. She felt a little warm near her, as though some kind of light was standing right next to her.

"By the way, why is John passed out outside?" Anna asked.

"Anna, when you heard that story, did you hear what happened to the mother?" Jeremy asked.

"No, but I always assumed she'd be okay, unless you're saying…" Anna cut off, realizing. "Oh."

"We're all together, though." Elena said. "Everything will be okay if we all just stick together." Rose looked at Damon sadly. He shook his head. She nodded, understanding it'd be better if Elena didn't know.
