Hi! I'm back with a new chapter.

Thanks to the people who still remember me and my story and took the time to review.

Someone asked me for a recap because it's been so long...so here it goes:

Spencer have been in a relationship with Wren for 6 years, as it happened on the show he cheated on Melissa with her but in my story they started a relationship right away and they are happy together.

Toby and Spencer are best friends since they were little kids and Toby have been in love with Spencer for ages, everyone noticed it except from Spencer.

At the beggining of the story Toby is dating a girl named Delfina and Spencer hates her, mostly because she doesn't trust her. One day Spencer discovers that Delfina is doing drugs, so she tells Toby but he is a man and he is stupid and decided not to believe her so they have a huge fight. After that Tpby realized that in fact Spencer was right and also that his girlfriend had another boyfriend, so she ends things with Delfina and goes to Spencer's to apologize.

When he goes to Spencer's aparment, Wren is visiting family in London so Spoby decided to get drunk and analize Toby's love life...ending in Toby confesing his feelings for Spencer and they having hot drunk sex...which practically ruin their friendship

After that, Spencer is confused about her feelings for Wren and Toby and as she tries to figure it out, Wren proposed during her parents aniversary party in front a hundreds of people, so Spencer feels obligated to say yes.

Toby decides that he is going to fight for Spencer's love but she pushes him away because she isn't sure of her feelings anymore. To add a little bit of drama to everything that is going on, she discovers she is pregnant and she isn't sure if it's Wren's or Toby's.

So here we are...Wren already knows Spencer is pregnant, but doens't know the rest. Toby on the other hand, doens't know a thing...yet.

Sorry, I suck at recaps...but here is the next chapter. I hope you enjoy it, it took me ages to write it and I feel like it isn't good enough.

Please leave a me review to know you are still reading this and I'm not writing to no one.

As always, sorry for my english...

Chapter 11: Karma's a Bitch

It was Friday at 6:00 am and she hasn't slept yet, she probably wouldn't sleep at all. The day she expected for so long had arrived and she wasn't ready. A Hastings it's always ready, but this time Spencer wasn't. Her last exam of her career was taken place at 10:00 am that morning, but with everything that was going on with her life she didn't have the time to study properly. So there she was, sitting at the kitchen table surrounded by books, notebooks, pens and highlighters of all colors. She was trying to focus but her pregnant body kept telling her to go to bed, a cup of strong coffee would have solved the problem but aren't pregnant woman suppose not to take it? Feeling desperate and almost without noticing she walked right to the coffee machine and poured some of the exquisite brown liquid into her favorite mug.

"You shouldn't been drinking that" a manly hand took the cup from hers as she was about to take the first zip "It's not good for the baby" Wren added kissing her cheek.

Spencer rolled her eyes "Whatever" she mumbled annoyed.

"Still upset, sweetheart?" Wren asked drinking the coffee that not long ago belonged to Spencer.

"What do you think?" She rolled her eyes again taking a sit in front of her books. Wren only sighted, not understanding why Spencer was so upset with him.

The tall brunette felt kind of stupid for being angry at Wren, he hadn't done anything that was worth fighting him for. The only thing the British doc was guilty of was accidently mentioning Spencer was pregnant in front of Melissa the night she had her second daughter, even though Spencer had forbidden him to tell anyone yet. The thing is that he was so excited that when he saw her holding their newest niece the words escaped his mouth without thinking. Ever since that little incident, Spencer had been distant with him, and whenever he tried to talk to her about it she walked away.

Spencer knew she was being unfair to Wren, what she was doing to him was worse. She had postponed telling him about cheating on him with Toby and him probably being the baby's father. She wanted to wait until finishing her exams to tell him, why add more stress to something that already is stressful, right?

"I have a patient at 6:30, so I gotta get going" Wren said getting his coat on and kissing Spencer's forehead "I hope we can talk about this tonight"

Spencer sighted, of course they would talk tonight. She had decided it was time to stop postponing their talk, especially after what had happened at the hospital, it was a matter of time everything blew out on her face. Taking away all those uncomfortable thoughts, she went back to her studies; she couldn't afford getting distracted again.

Sadly concentration only lasted a couple of minutes, a knock on the door announced that someone was out there.

"You've been avoiding me" the tall man declared, his piercing blue eyes were fixed on her brown ones.

"No, I'm not" Spencer lied, twirling a string of her hair, something she did when she was nervous. "I've been busy Toby; I have an exam in 4 hours. Can we talk later?"

She was about to close the door on his face, but he stop her and invited himself in. "We are going to talk and we are going to talk now." The anger was notorious in his voice.

Spencer ignored him, she really needed to study, so she walked to kitchen and rejoined her books. Toby followed her, there was no way he was going to leave without an answer.

"I know you are pregnant" he declared.

It shocked Spencer to hear him say it, almost as much as it shocked her when she realized her period was late. "Ho -how you know that?" she turned around to face him; she was starting to feel the tears forming in her eyes.

"Melissa told me" he said crossing his arms and getting closer to her. "But it doesn't really matter how I found out, what matters is why I had to find out from someone who isn't you"

Tears started to roll down her tired face, she couldn't deal with that right now, but she knew she had to. "I, I'm sorry" was all she managed to say.

"I'm sorry?" He rolled his eyes. It was unbelievable, the girl he knew for all his life and used to tell him everything was pregnant with his child and all she had to say was sorry. "I'm sorry?" He repeated, he was so pissed off right now.

Spencer kept quiet, she was trying to form the words to explain him everything, but somehow, she had lost her ability to speak.

Toby kept staring at her, still angry. "Were you planning to tell me someday or you were expecting to hide this from me and having my kid call me Uncle Toby?"

"No!" She screamed. It was so frustrating. "I was waiting for the right time. I'm not even sure if it's yours or Wren's" she made a long pause as she cried hysterically. "I wanted to talk to him first. I cheated on him and then agreed to marry him, the least he deserves it's to know the truth first, but I couldn't find the right time and now you know and you hate me and he is going to hate me."

At this point she was sobbing and sitting on the floor hugging her knees. Toby felt something break inside of him seeing her like that, he knew part of her guilt and pain was his fault and she didn't deserve to go through all that alone.

He sat on the floor with her and wrapped his arms around his fragile best friend. His touch made her feel safe, but still it made her cry harder. Toby kissed her forehead "I don't hate you and I never will." He whispered and they stayed like that on the floor until she tranquilized.

Both of them remained quiet for the longest time, until Spencer broke the silence "I really wanted to tell you." She said softly meeting his gaze. "Not only because this involves you, but because you are my best friend and I really needed you" she started crying again and she hated it so much. "This past days had been awful and all I wanted was my best friend, but I just..." she took a deep breath between sobs so she could speak properly "I screwed everything up"

"Shh" Toby rocked Spencer in his arms, trying to calm her down "Shh…it's going to be ok" He wasn't sure if it was going to be ok, but what else he was suppose to tell her. "Look…" he softly turned her face so she could look at him in the eye "You didn't screw up, we both did, and I just want you to know that you aren't alone with this, ok?"

Spencer nodded; she looked like a complete mess right now. Her eyes were puffy and full of tears, her face was pale and she was completely exhausted, but having Toby by her side telling that it was going to be ok made her believe it.

"I'm your best friend, no matter what, ok?" Toby assured her caressing her cheek and cleaning away her tears, the messy brunette nodded again. "If this baby it's mine, then I'm going to do my best to be the best father even, and I want you to remember that as your friend I'm going to be here by your side every time you need it" He sighed, Toby couldn't believe he was having a talk with Spencer about their kid. "You need to talk to Wren, the sooner the better and you know I'm right."

"I know" The pregnant woman said, so softly that Toby could barely hear it.

Toby kissed her temple and smiled "And now you need to sleep, you don't need to study anyway"

It had been a long day for Spencer, right after her exam she had spent the day home trying to figure out how to talk to Wren about everything. In the meantime, the brunette had managed to clean the entire apartment, do the laundry, take a bubble bath and clean everything up again. Now she was sitting in the living room waiting for him, if she was going to talk it had to be as soon as he got home.

An hour and a half passes as she waited for her future ex boyfriend, Spencer was sure Wren was going to leave her as soon as she said the truth. She grabbed a book to read as she waited, but what she really needed was a glass of wine. If only she could have one.

"Hello darling." Spencer's thoughts were interrupted by Wren entering their home. The moccha eyed girl turned around to face him, her thin face was invaded by worry and the British doctor could tell. "It's everything alright?" He asked as he walked toward her to kiss her cheek.

"We need to talk, please sit." The girl patted the empty spot next to her and Wren sat immediately as she instructed. She was scaring him.

Spencer sighed and started to talk looking at her hands, it was impossible for her to look at him in the eye at the moment. She felt like the cheapest woman on earth. "When you were in London, something happen…No, it didn't happen, it's more like I did something"

"Ok?" Wren was confused; he was trying to understand what she was saying "Spence, you are scaring me. What happened?"

Taking a deep breath and trying to hold back her tears, she found the strength to look into his big brown eyes "I cheated on you" she finally admitted.

"WHAT?" Wren stood up faster than Spencer thought it was humanly possible. "What did you just said?"

It was hard for Spencer to figure if he was angry, disappointed or devastated. Maybe, all of the above. "I slept with someone else. I'm really sorry" The tears she was trying to hold back were falling free through her pale skin, the pain in she was feeling on the inside was almost unbearable.

After all Spencer and him had experienced together and how strong and healthy their relationship had been over the years, ending like this was the last thing he ever expected. He still couldn't believe what he was hearing, he didn't know if he should cry or laugh at what Spencer just said. He had so many questions but somehow he couldn't find the words.

Spencer stood up and walked towards him, she tried to hold his hand but he pushed her away. Needless was to say that Wren was hurt, he didn't even had to speak to make her notice it, his deep coffee brown eyes were saying it all.

"There is more." She struggled to say. She only noticed Wren's orbs fixed on hers; the way he was looking at her was as if he didn't recognize the person talking in front of him. "I'm not sure if this baby it's yours or…"

"Or who's?" Wren asked before she could continue. "God, I can't believe this" He said a little bit to loud, almost yelling.

Spencer sat down again, she was feeling a little dizzy, she assumed it was all the stress accumulated on her body. She was sure all the crying and the worry weren't good for her baby and she wished she could stop and try to relax, for the sake of her unborn child.

"Talk now Spencer." Wren demanded, his rough voice made Spencer flinch.

"Toby's" She managed to say between sobs.

Anger was now what Wren felt. Of all people Toby would be the one who Spencer had to cheat on him with. Over the past 6 years they had been together, Wren always felt insecure about Toby, he was even jealous of the connection his girlfriend had with him. Toby was the only man that the overly attractive and successful doctor felt he couldn't compete with, but he never pictured him as the man who would act in such dishonorable way.

A few minutes passed and all Wren was doing was passing around the living room; he hadn't say a word to her after she admitted the other man was Toby. The silence was making Spencer more anxious than she already was, so she decided to talk "I know saying I'm sorry won't change what happened, but I really am. It was a onetime thing, it was a mistake and I've never meant for any of this to happen."

There was no answer. Wren wasn't even looking at her anymore; he just sat on the floor and stared at the carpet without speaking.

"Please say something" She begged.

This time he looked up at her, tears were rolling down his angelic face. Whoever saw Wren at the moment could tell he was broken, and how wouldn't he if the love of his life had betrayed him in the worst way he couldn't imagine.

"Are you in love with him?" His voice was sharp but at the same time full of sadness.

Silence. Silence, was all that filled the room after his question. Of all the question that he could possibly ask, that was the only one Spencer couldn't answer, she didn't even knew the answer. But that silence was more than enough for Wren to know that the onetime thing wasn't entirely a mistake. He felt the sudden realization that there wouldn't be a wedding, that he wouldn't share a happily ever after with the woman he was in love with, that all his dreams were just that, dreams.

There was nothing else for him say and one thing to do, so the man stood up and walked out of the apartment with one thought on his mind, Karma really hits you twice as hard.
