Andrea had absolutely no idea on what Daryl wanted. He said he needed a word with her, but he was leading her off into the treeline, just moments after she had planned on speaking to Rick. Was it something bad..? She didn't want to start questioning it all before he had even said what he needed to talk to her about, but she was still curious.
Soon the camp was out of view, but he kept walking, and Andrea only followed. She had her hand wrapped around her pistol though, being cautious. Her and the lad had never really been on the best of terms.. Well, ever. Firstly, she had been pretty much blamed for his brother being handcuffed to a top of the building. Yet Rick was the one who put him there, and of course.. T-Dog the one to lose the key. But then, she had also be the one to mistaken the redneck for a walker, shooting him. But by god, she was thankful her aim had been terrible at the time. If she had got him in the head.. She would be literally fucked. The group would have treated her like some stray survivor, abandoning her and leaving her to die. She knew it. After all, it wouldn't be the first time that had happened. And plus, she would have killed Daryl. Sure, he could be a right ass most of the time. But they had their occasional moments of getting along.
She shook her head from her thoughts, knowing she was straying completely. He wouldn't kill her.. They had already lost Lori, and he was different now,. why was she even suggesting the fact that he could kill her, or that he would even consider hurting her? The blonde knew she was thinking too far into her mind, now.
But soon enough, Daryl came to a halt and held his hand up in front of the blonde, halting her in her tracks. And there in the distance, beyond the treeline, their was a fucking huge building, looking like heaven right now. It was surrounded in fence, barbed wire, had a pretty nice stretch of land, and what looked like very secure walls. Probably enough to stop anyone getting in or out.. And as walkers came into sight, that fact was proven correct. Her eyes scanned over the large hoard of the dead, the walkers, whom seemed to be heading towards the fence, walking right into it and barely even moving the large defense system. and after that, she noticed walkers who were trying to get inside, only failing just as bad as the others. "Shit.. Those walkers are too close to camp." the blonde murmured, but of course, Daryl shook his head.
"That's not why yet 'ere. Minus the walkers, this place looks pretty damn safe to me." he murmured in reply, obviously his mind set was different to hers. "I ain't tellin' the others cause we both know how they'd react. But we could get in there. If we could find some way to get into that place, fuck all them walkers up, we'd all be damn safe. Prisons ain't known for letting anyone get in or out." he explained to Andrea, keeping his voice quiet to avoid being heard by any nearby walkers or the ones around the prison.
But his last words did concern her a little. "Daryl, we're not going to get in any other way than the front gate, it's a goddamn prison and the world has gone to hell, I don't think we're going to be invited in any other way, and we aren't getting through all those walkers." she murmured, yet her voice was rather stern, as she tried to use her brain. Obviously what she felt like he wasn't doing right now. By the looks of the clothing they could see being worn, the walkers within the prison seemed to be wearing either prison, or police uniform, making it clear that they hadn't worked out any escape route yet. Of course she did get where Dary was coming from, as getting ahold of that building would be fantastic for them all, and obviously safe. But it was her, Daryl, Rick, T-Dog, Glenn and Maggie. They were the only ones who knew how to survive against walkers like this, and they were not enough to take down all of these walkers. Not without at least half of them dying, that was.
"Never said this would be easy, Andrea. Y'know we ain't taking the damn front gate, I ain't that stupid. They gotta have a back entrance or somethin'. That's why I got ye out here, to watch my back if I look around." Daryl raised his eyebrows slightly as he looked at her, almost disappointed in what he was currently seeing as her stupidity. Hell no, he was not stupid enough to just run across the field and try to open a prison secured gate, with a shit ton of walkers in it. He sometimes felt like the only brains of the group. But now he could tell by the thoughtful look on her face, that she finally understood what she was getting to. She pulled her knife out in one hand, her pistol out into the other and nodded to Daryl. "Alright mister, lets check this place out. We can't be long, or the group will start looking for us." she whispered, knowing that nobody trusted the two together when weapons were involved, as just like her they remembered exactly what incidents had occurred between the two's family pretty much. This world really was a living hell now, and they had all witnessed first hand that it didn't take a lot for someone to turn their backs on anyone. I mean, lets remember Shane. He seemed to be perfectly dedicated to the group, until something messed up with him, Lori and Rick. Then sparks most definitely flew, that memory was fresh in her mind, seeing as that was when everything really went to hell.
The blonde was snapped out of her thoughts once again as Daryl nudged her from them, and once she was back in reality he nodded in one direction, walking slowly as she followed. Daryl was fine on his own, one of the smartest of their group. She didn't realize why he needed her to help him out with this. But hey,l if she was doing something useful, it didn't matter.
"So, you and Rick. What's goin' on, there? And don't you say nothin', 'cause I ain't stupid." and as the lad spoke, Andrea got her answer as to why he had wanted her to join him. She felt her cheeks light up brightly, unaware of the crimson red they glowed right now from her embarrassment of the question she was asked. Daryl chuckled quietly to himself as he glanced back at her, "An' by the look on yer face, I guess you two be fuckin'," He soon added, of course only messing around. The guy's wife had just died, he wasn't going to push it too far, but he knew that there was more than a friendship between the two, now.
"No, Daryl, no! We're just friends, he's upset and I'm looking out for him!" she exclaimed, yet her voice was quiet. Fuck, even she didn't know what was happening between the two anymore. She felt more than a friendship. But he had a son.. A daughter.. And Lori had only just passed. She really was afraid this wouldn't last long, and he would get his head straight soon. But she knew her feelings were real.
And of course, Daryl looked back at her with raised eyebrows, and an awfully curious expression. He could pick out a lie when he was told one, he wasn't dumb. His life was shit before this, and he had worked out a ton of skills in his time. Soon, Andrea sighed in defeat, glad that she could feel her blush falling from her cheeks, so she didn't feel like such an idiot anymore. It was either she told him, or she knew he would get it out of her somehow. "Truth be told..? I don't know. I do have feelings for him.. But It's as if I'm a kid again with a goddamn school crush. I don't even remember the last time that a guy had even held me in his arms.. I miss it. I miss being young, and life like this. Fuck, Daryl, I just want to be loved. I don't know if my feelings are real for him, or if this is my craving trying to get to him. But he's just lost Lori, and I know damn right he's just as confused as I am. But I can't resist."
And after hearing her words, Daryl silenced. He stopped in his track and sighed softly, knowing how she felt. Exactly how she felt. He'd started to get like that over Carol. Maybe he was like Andrea, deprived of those feelings and needing someone to show him he was worth it, and that there was something to carry on living for. But either way, he knew it wasn't fun feeling like that. "Lets just keep looking." he finally replied, his tone softer than before as he continued to walk along the tree line, searching the building for some way to get in.
