Hello there. Another chapter is up. So... I've started watching Boy Meets World and I fell in love instantly and finished it within like a week. Now I'm watching Girl Meets World. It took a while to get into the new show, but the show grows on you.
Sweet Cats: Thank you so much for your kind words. You may or may not know this but you can expect an update every other week since I'm working on another story as well. Welcome aboard.
Magenta Brave: It's so hard to find a show especially when you've watched all the ones you love.
adebisi980: Don't worry. I think you're gonna like this chapter.
Guest (Guest): I love gyros and loukoumades. My university is literally three minutes away from this Greek restaurant called Niko Niko's and it is so great. Whenever I have time (and money) I love heading down and getting some.
HoOisawesome: I'm a comedian. I know. Though... Stand up comedy is probably not the thing for me.
DivergentWeStand: Oh... it gets awkward.
Disclaimer: I do not own the characters of Percy Jackson and the Olympians... Obviously since I am in no way, shape, or form Rick Riordan.
Annabeth was happy that things were good between her and her mother. She had told her all about what she'd been through on the island, how her relationship with Percy had progressed, and even ended with Annabeth showing Athena the blueprints for house she was currently having built on the island. Athena even made some suggestions of her own to maximize the view from the house without having to turn an entire wall into glass. Needless to say, Annabeth and her mother spent all night in her office talking and bonding, catching up on all the mother and daughter conversations they never had. Then, Athena had brought up Annabeth's current relationship with Percy and the young heiress couldn't bring herself to lie to her mother. Not after all the progress they had made. So, she told her of their current friendship. Surprisingly, Athena showed comfort and support rather than saying, 'I told you so.' She'd told Annabeth that if it were meant to happen, then they would find a way and it would happen.
The rest of the week was fairly slow for Annabeth. The meetings seemed to drag on each day. The only upside was that she would be going out with Percy that night, Friday. As friends of course. Although, it would be just the two of them so that was a plus. Currently, she was getting ready for the night out. She'd showered and changed out of her work clothes into something more casual.
She didn't know exactly what they were going to be doing that night but Percy did tell her to wear something comfortable so something comfortable she shall wear. She threw on her favorite grey blouse, paired with dark blue jeans, a black leather jacket, and high-heeled boots. She also threw on her favorite owl earrings and necklace. Once her outfit was set, she checked over her hair and makeup quickly in the mirror.
It was funny. She never really cared much for her appearance. As long as she didn't look terrible for the possible chance that the paparazzi could catch a peek of her, she was fine. But here she was, checking her appearance for Percy. And they weren't even together. It wasn't even like she was putting on a lot of makeup or doing a lot to her hair. She just touched up her brows, her lashes, and her lips. She also framed her face. The whole thing took about five minutes. For her hair, all she did was tame her hair slightly so that her curls were less wild. That took a little longer but she managed to not spend more than ten minutes on it. After her final check, deciding that everything was satisfactory, Annabeth grabbed her phone, keys, and wallet, and left her apartment.
The drive to Percy's wasn't long. Traffic was light, which was odd for a Friday night, and Annabeth seemed to have hit every green light. It was as though fate was finally on her side. Things were going to go right for her and Percy and this was fate's way of letting her know that a lot of good was coming her way.
Annabeth pulled into Percy's apartment parking lot and made her way to her usual spot. However, there was a problem: a car was already parked there. Annabeth blinked and circled around to make sure that she was in the correct area of the lot. She was. And yet, a little green Mazda was parked right next to Percy's blue Prius. Frowning, Annabeth drove down a bit further to the visitor's parking area and parked her car. She got out and made her way up to Percy's unit.
Just a minor hiccup, she thought to herself as she rode up the elevator. Fate is still on my side. It's my turn to receive the good from the universe. The blonde heiress took a deep breath to center herself and knocked.
"Come in!" she could hear Percy call from inside. "It's open!" Annabeth raised an eyebrow but opened the door anyway.
Annabeth walked in and saw Percy tidying up in the kitchen. The sight definitely surprised her. "Wow," she said, an amused smile on her face. "You're actually cleaning. Should I be flattered?" Percy only chuckled. "You know, you shouldn't leave your door unlocked like that. It's not really safe."
"I usually don't," he said. "You know that."
"So why was it unlocked this time?"
"Because I knew you were coming." Annabeth smiled. The two of them had gotten comfortable around each other so it wasn't too big of a deal.
"By the way, there was a car parked in your second spot."
"Oh, yeah," Percy said. "That's–"
"Mine," a new voice interrupted. Annabeth spun around and was met face to face with another girl with fiery red, curly hair and emerald green eyes; she was clad in only a tank top and short pajama shorts. Annabeth blinked.
"Ummm…" the blonde stumbled. She was not expecting thing this. "And you are?" Annabeth herself could hear the edge creeping into her voice.
"I'm Rachel," the redhead answered. She held a hand out to Annabeth who simply stared at it.
"And who is Rachel?"
"A friend of Percy's." Annabeth took a good look at Rachel and narrowed her eyes.
"I'm sure you are." The redhead's eyebrows raised in both shock and amusement.
"I get it," she said, a smile on her face. "You must be Annabeth. I've heard a lot about you."
"Yeah? That's funny. Because I've never heard of you."
"Okay!" Percy exclaimed, jumping between them. "Well, it's great that you two have met. Rachel, Annabeth and I are heading out so I'll see you tonight." He started ushering Annabeth out of the apartment. Once the door was closed behind them, Annabeth spun on the black haired man.
"Maybe I should just go. You obviously have company."
"What? No. Annabeth, we have plans tonight."
"It's fine, Percy. I just remembered that I have some work to do so it's all good. No harm done." She firmed her expression. "I'll see you around." With that, Annabeth left.
Thanks a lot, Fate, she thought. She fought away the tears that were threatening to spill and drove back to her apartment.
When she arrived, she dumped her keys in the little bowl by the door. She closed her eyes and sighed. "I will not cry. Crying shows weakness and I am strong," she told herself. "We're just friends. We're not together. He has the right to date whoever he wants. He has the right to have whomever he wants to have over. And if she's in her pajamas? Whatever. Who cares? It's his life." She suddenly found herself on her couch with a glass of wine in her hand and the bottle on the coffee table in front of her. She must've gotten them while she was ranting to herself. Shaking her head, she grabbed her television remote and turned on Netflix, though she wasn't sure what she wanted to watch.
She was on a particularly angsty part of the series in Grey's Anatomy so she figured she'd watch that. She clicked on the show and took a sip of her wine. While watching, Annabeth noticed that Meredith's life seemed to mirror hers. Just when she thought things were going to be okay between her and Derek, his wife, Addison, comes in and ruins it. It was unfair. It was stuff like this that made people lose faith in love and happiness.
And so, instead of enjoying a night out with someone she considered her best friend, she was at home, alone, drowning her sorrows with wine and a rainy Seattle.

"Crap, crap, crap, crap," Percy muttered, pacing back and forth in his living room. Rachel was sitting on his couch, arms and legs crossed, staring at him. "This is bad. This is bad, this is really, really bad." He couldn't believe his luck. Fate really wanted to see him suffer. He was getting so excited for Annabeth to come over and for them to go down to the Aquarium to look at the habitat before opening day. They had been 'just friends' for almost a month and a half and he wanted to know if it was time they gave themselves another try. Tonight was going to let him know. Except, Rachel had come out and Annabeth thought the worst. Though, he couldn't really blame Rachel or Annabeth. This was on him. He didn't tell Rachel that Annabeth was coming over or Annabeth that a friend was staying with him for a few days while she visited her father. So no, he couldn't get mad at Rachel. Just himself.
"Ugh…" Rachel groaned. "Will you stop pacing? You're making me dizzy."
"I can't stop, Rachel! I don't know what to do! Annabeth thinks that we're… together or something. My life is ruined!"
"Oh, stop whining. If it really bothers you that much, go to her place and explain the truth: that I'm only here to visit my dad but refuse to stay at his place or at one of his hotels." She said, standing up. She walked over to him and placed her hands on his shoulders to get him to stop pacing. "Tell her that nothing will ever happen between us. I mean, if something did happen between us, Octavian would kill me." A beat. "After he killed you."
She could see the gears turning in his head as he made sense of what she was saying. "Yeah…" he nodded. "Yeah. I'm gonna tell her. Thanks Rachel." He gave his childhood friend a hug, grabbed his keys, wallet, and phone, and rushed out of his apartment and down to his car.

He got to Annabeth's apartment in record time, despite the traffic and the fact that he nearly ran a number of red lights. He parked in his usual place and rushed up to her apartment, and began knocking on her door urgently, practically banging on it, when he reached it. "Annabeth, open up!" he called. "We need to talk!" When the door opened, the blonde heiress was dressed similarly to the way Rachel was dress except the only shorts Annabeth had on were her boyshort underwear and she was lacking a bra; she did however, have her thin grey robe loosely wrapped around her. She also had a glass of wine in her hand.
"Percy?" she asked. Her voice was still steady, fortunately, both for him and her. She was still sober. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm here because I promised you that we were gonna spend Friday night together," he said.
"What about Rachel?" she narrowed her eyes and walked into her apartment. Percy followed, closing and locking the door behind him.
"What about her?" They had reached her living room by that point and had sat down on Annabeth's couch. Percy took the glass of wine from her, set it down next to the bottle on the coffee table, and held her hand. "Annabeth, Rachel is a good friend of mine. We practically grew up together. That is, until her parents got a divorce and she and her mom moved to Connecticut. She's in town for a few days to visit her dad and then she's heading right back to Connecticut to continue planning her wedding." The edge in Annabeth's eyes faded and the storm clouds lightened. "I'm sorry that I didn't tell you before you got there so you knew what to expect. That was my fault. But, Annabeth, I would never, ever, want to hurt you. You have to know that." Annabeth looked down at their interconnected hands.
"There was a time when I believed that," she whispered.
Hearing her say that killed him. He never wanted to hurt her. He had to let her know that. Percy scooted closer to Annabeth and placed his hands on either side of her face. Gently, he tucked a strand of her blonde hair behind her ear and leant forward. When their foreheads were touching and their lips were centimeters apart, he whispered, "I don't want to hurt you anymore." Then, he closed the distance and kissed her.
It was slow and soft, the sincerity of his words guiding his lips. It was his way of letting her know that he wanted to be there for her always, to help her, listen to her, support her, to love her. When he pulled away, he looked into her eyes, his sea green meeting her stormy grey. Though, her eyes weren't very stormy at that point. They were more of a calm after the storm. "Annabeth," he breathed.
"Shut up and kiss me," was her response in the same breathy tone he had. He smiled and obliged, pulling her close, no intention of ever letting go.

Eventually, he did have to let go due to the lack of oxygen they were both experiencing, however, now, they were both cuddled on her couch, watching their show: Once Upon A Time. "So," he said once the latest episode ended. "Where does this leave us now?" Annabeth looked up at him.
"Where do you want to be?" was all she asked.
"I don't care, as long as we're together." Annabeth sat up and kissed him before standing up and leaving the room. Confused, he stood and followed her down the hallway. He saw the light on in her study, went inside, and was met by the sight of her standing, her robe now wrapped tighter around her body, in front of her worktable, her hair now up in its usual messy bun. He walked up behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist, and placed his chin on her shoulder. "What's this?" he questioned.
"It's a house," she replied.
"It's beautiful." He kissed the base of her neck. "Whose is it?"
Annabeth was silent as though she was unsure to share that information with him. "It's mine."
Percy stepped back, releasing Annabeth, confused. "Yours? You're building a house?"
"I am."
"Where?"
"On the island."
